Politics › Our Next Ig Should Be A Foreigner by Beaf(op): 2:48pm On Jan 21, 2012 |
We need a foreigner as IG.
With the imminent exit of the current IG, the FG needs to begin considering new angles to tackling our age old cancer, the police force. I suggest we get a foreigner in (maybe British, American or Israeli).
All our home-grown policemen are almost all corrupt and engaged in nefarious activities like armed robbery or boko haram terrorism. The language our average policeman speaks is forgery and bribery. Baal, Beelzebub and the hordes of Hades will kill to attain the gutter morals of our policemen. After a blood soaked boko haram mastermind was caught, a senior police officer took him on a fun trip and released him; that man was the most senior boko haram member the FG had ever laid hands and represented a breakthrough of tectonic magnitude. Released! Can you beat that?
Woe betide you if armed robbers visit your neighbour and you have the audacity to call the police; in a few days, you too will be visited by the blood spilling creeping things; with luck, shivering sweat and terror soaked prayer, your woman will not be rap'ed and your life snuffed out. Yet these are the men in whom we entrust individual and national security. The police is your ‘fiend.’
We obviously cannot go on this way, it is either we begin to treat the police as enemies of the nation (which they are), or we begin to actively seek ways to rebuild the force from scratch. Such a rebuilding task can only be left in the hands of a foreigner, probably assisted by the few proven hands available, the likes of Marvel Akpoyibo. Only a foreigner, untainted by the devilish ways of our men in black can be trusted to build a force that is trained and equipped to World standard.
How una see am?

@scopusng
Always remember that life is precious and that there are people who love you; some you know and some you might not know. Every life has a purpose, none should be snuffed out. There are always people who value you, your sisters, brothers, father, mother and friends. Taking your life will be a mistake thats not worth it. I do not know your religion or if you are religious, but do take time out in solitude with God. We all have low moments, but those times are for us to look back on after we have blossomed, and no matter how bad your situation is, remember there is always someone who is worse and praying to at least be in your situation.
Take heart bruv, and keep strong. See you on NL on Monday. |

Every ND person and every exposed Nigerian knows that the battle is about oil. The only money source worth a second look in Abuja is oil. Period.
By the way, the only way to counter the figures I posted is by posting results that can be verified, ok? 99% of Midwesterners voted to leave the Western Region, and we did. Let it kill you. |

@bayooooooo Figures like the ones below do not lie. 99% of the Midwest voted to get out of the Western Region, it is a lesson that many of you have still not learnt which is why you are arrogantly revising history as if we do not know why we opted out. Arrogance played a huge part in our upping and leaving. Perhaps, I will open a thread on this issue and post many of the shameful things that set our minds on leaving the Western Region. 99% in a referendum is a very powerful declaration indeed. www.nairaland.com/attachments/618690_Midwest_gifc8ab793912f73fbfd315c809824d9a07 |

It was learnt that the event of the last 24 hours since Wednesday has further worsened the case of the police, as he was said to have been sighted at the Office of the National Security Adviser on Wednesday night.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that while the police boss was sighted late in the night at the NSA’s office, his office at the Force Headquarters was reportedly cordoned off and searched, indicating the seriousness the presidency is attaching to the suspect’s escape.
Unconfirmed reports also had it that the Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade (retd), had so far rebuffed all pleas from the police boss for his intervention to defuse the raging anger of the president. It seems Ringims goose is cooked, his office searched! Could the alleged targetting of the IG in the bombing of the police headquarters in Abuja have been a ruse? |

sheyguy: They want power because u brother promised them. It is their right to have it for eight years. Oga pata pata has betrayed the trust of the north and he cant face them even though he knows them as he claimed. You people want power because you are a bunch of phucking thieves who only know how to steal oil money and phuck up your own people with misery, gross child abuse (10 million almajiri's and legalised phucking of 10 year old girls), disease and illiteracy. After stealing $4billion a year as revealled by the KPMG audit, you parasites are throwing bombs everywhere, because GEJ came in and immediately began reforming the oil sector. By the time he leaves, no mallam will be able to steal oil that they don't have in their backyards. Shameless thieves and blood sucking almajiri manufacturers. |

Politics › Re: Kano Under Attack: Multiple Bomb Blasts & Gunfights by Beaf: 1:22am On Jan 21, 2012 |
bayooooooo: @Beaf, read Nigeria history very well and understand the nuance therein, Mid West was created for no other reason than to weaken the political influence of Awolowo. Awolowo as a person was not even against it as he passionately championed the interests of minorities making appeal for the creation of Calabar-ogoja/River, Mid West regions and similar arrangement for the minorities in the North especially those in what is now known as middle belt. One can recommend several books on Nigeria history but you may decide to read page 205 of Ethnic Politics in Kenya and Nigeria by Godfrey Mwakikagile, in which case since publication in 2001, no one has published a critique or refutation of some claims. I ll just quote a paragraph to buttress my point:
"Chief Awolowo proposed in 1953 the division (of Nigeria) into nine states. The Western Region was to be broken into two, the Northern region into four and the eastern region into three. In 1959, the Action Group called for the creation of more states, and in addition to cultural and linguistic affinity, proposed a new criterion of viability as bases for division. During the 1957 election into the Eastern House of Assembly the then premier of the East, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, restated the rights of all minorities to self-determination, and affirmed the right of the minorities of the people of Calabar-ogoja and River Provinces to self-determination. But after the election and at NCNC convention at Aba in October, 1957, Dr Azikiwe opposed what he called the “dismemberment” of the Eastern Region."
you may also decide to go through this http://www.nigerdeltacongress.com/warticles/zik_awo_enahoro_and_nigerian_pol.htm to further buttress the fact that Awo as a person was not interested in keeping that Region. I also reproduce a paragraph below in quote with the parts in bold bear my emphasy. Even in Yorubaland today, the unannounced consensus is true federalism, in which each region will manage its resources and pay taxes or derivation whichever way you see it to the federation account as it's being practiced in other genuine federalism of the world. I as a person do not believe there is a part of Nigeria that is not economically viable and the future of world economy is not even in oil. It's a matter of time, technology will render it useless, it may or may not be in our generation. The North's interests in keeping Nigeria one actually transcend oil.
"Chief Awolowo's Action Group manifesto had 14-point programmes. These included free primary education and free medical treatment for children in the Northern and Eastern regions, as having been provided in the Western region; more hospitals and dispensaries; a minimum wage of five shillings per day throughout the country like in the Western region; general review of salaries, full employment and unemployment benefits; modernisation of agriculture and loans to farmers; cheap housing, unlike the elitist type currently built for billionaire landlords in Lagos State outside the reach of the common people; old age pensions; rehabilitation of ex-servicemen; the creation of three new Regions - Calabar/Ogoja/Rivers, Middle Belt and Midwest; furtherance of liberal democracy, and amnesty for political prisoners; and the establishment of Economic Development Commission. In 1959, Awo failed to realise his altruistic ambition. And in demonstration of his sincerity of purpose he tried again in 1979, and finally in 1983, before he transited in 1987. "
Now to GEJ, everyone knows you love GEJ, some people also do. Some of us also believe there is political undertone to bombings going on in the country portraying GEJ as incompetent and incapable of ruling and securing a safe, stable and growing Nigeria. If Nigeria is stable security wise, it will actually take time to figure out GEJ is not really sound intellectually etc. At the beginning, everybody saw GEJ as a victim, but he has taken some actions and refused to take some, that had alienated him from the people.
How on earth can he expect understanding from people when the likes of the police boss is not just still in office but personally decorated with robes of national honours as a brilliant police by GEJ? How can one say the president is serious when a high profile catch who would have provided useful and invaluable intelligence was set free and nothing was done? How can he now justify the militarization of Lagos when the real emergency is right in the North? I know there is little one can do to stopping a fellow from blowing himself off, but certain actions from presidency can send a signal that culpable hands will no doubt be cut and cut to pieces. That's the signal that GEJ is not sending and that's why he remains an incompetent president. I don't know why anyone would take joy in rewriting history. We were pissed off with the treatment we got under the Western Region. To cut a long story short, there was a referendum held in 1963 for the creation of Midwest state, we simply wanted out. Here are the results:

How can Boko haram struggle be about oil? If they want oil they will be romancing the South and not killing them. Am sure they are not so daft not to know that what they are doing is only supporting a call for the division of the country. At least they have shown themselves more intelligent than our Commander in Chief and intelligent officers. It is about politics (and politics is 100% about oil money), that is why they kill indiscriminately and why their demands change with the weather. They have not shown themselves to be more intelligent than anybody, because they are the intelligence services, police and army. I wonder why anyone would gloss over the makeup of their country for the past 51 years to lay blame. It doesn't speak well of powers of analysis. |

Some people are incurably daft You are the id!ot here. Was it indiscriminate killings of both Christians and Muslims for the Danish cartoon, Zango Kataf, Fulani vs Berom, Miss World? You are a fool though, so little in the way of critical thinking is expected. Boko haram is about blind terror for political reasons, and the North is being deliberately targetted to whip any dissenters into line. All politics is about oil, because most areas are content to do phuck all, but hit Abuja and beg. 90% of politicians are only into politics because of money, and that money comes from oil. alj harem: Oil again, Nigeria does not only generate revenue through CRUDE OIL you know, get off the high horse.
Crude oil only accounts for 43 % of Nigeria export whil argiculture accounts for 40 % and remaing crude oil, coal, tin, columbite, uranium; palm oil, peanuts, cotton, rubber, wood; hides and skins, textiles, cement and other construction materials, food products, footwear, chemicals, fertilizer, printing, ceramics, steel, small commercial ship construction and repair, entertainment, machinery, car assembly. so go sleep with ur wet dream about OIl.
what is the point of having all the oil in the world and you have likes of Patient GEJ, ur oga's wife transfing 13 million dollars to dubia just to buy Gold ?
What is the point of having all the oil in the world and having alams, ur Oga's SA or so having billions abroad ?
Uk does not have oil and yet they are far richer than NiGERIa and I am sure biafra/ND republic as well if it happens and u don't all kill urself because of greed.
China does not have oil and they are far better than Nigeria. so go shof that crude oil up ur throat
Boko haram does not operate on Oil but used by ur Oga's in the top places to split the country. Who is fooling who Sometimes, I wonder if you are man or monkey. Where is the money Nigeria is generating outside of oil coming from? Is it the two or three goats reared in your Borno state, or does your boko haram generate money through bombing babies?
