Romance › Re: When Does A Woman's "no" Mean No!? by Beaf: 8:13pm On Jul 04, 2009
When a woman says no especially in this obodoyibo, bera find your scooter.
But some African babes sha, they mean yes but keep saying no thinking that "African style" of touching and wrestling will work. I had a babe like that I was chasing who had this "no illness" forgetting we're in the UK.
At one point I got frustrated enough to tell I would never force her, but she kept on coming to my house (even at night) and screaming no and fighting like Hulk Hogan when nature should be taking its cause. Wetin man go do? I quietly "lost contact".
Long and short is one bright sunny day I paid her a visit after a very long absence and she told me she was ready for me, I should ditch all other babes, she's "dead serious" about it. You know what? At this point I was a couple of weeks into marriage. . .
Her stupidity had cost us both dearly. . .
Romance › Re: My Girl_friend Is A Mamiwater~ Water Spirit! by Beaf: 7:01pm On Jul 04, 2009
Just to clarify definitions:

Mermaide is the European thing with a fish tale.

Mamiwater is more of a religious or spiritual thing. Mamiwater is water spirit, so when peeps talk about mamiwater they don't mean some babe with a fish tail, sitting on a rock and combing her long hair. Mamiwater is water spirit.

like I said, Ezeagu insists Oprah is a west African refusing to help west Africans and I believe I was telling him its not by force.

The post you just quoted wasnt made by me.

If you have a problem with Pee da vinci calling Oprah great, then please take it up with him.
I felt you were actually changing the topic, especially by providing pictures of people who arent on the list and who the average person has never heard of and will never hear of. For goodness sake, we are discussing Mandela and Martin Luther King (in my opinion, MJ and Oprah don't even cut the list).

I believe I was having a discussion with Ezeagu who is trying to force his mindset on Oprah? huh

maybe you should reread the thread.
Last time I looked, this was the original topic:

although, i know there is no one-size-fits-all yardstick to compare these pple and each of them are great pple (in their own right), but on a fairly general scale, who would u say is the greatest black man that ever lived (or is still livin) among these lots
Politics › Re: Mandela, Obama, Michael Jackson, Marthin Luther King, Oprah Winfrey by Beaf: 4:27pm On Jul 04, 2009
Nelson Mandela is the greatest black man that has ever lived.
He fought peacefully when he needed to and built homemade bombs when occassion demanded, but always with deep conviction. He was always ready to die for his beliefs and displayed the highest morals in leadership. His oratory and passion are second to none.

Michael Jackson and Oprah Winfrey just do not belong on that list. They are great entertainers, not great black people.

Marthin Luther King is a great black man, but he did not go through the half of what Mandela had to go through. He did not drive for his beliefs with as much passion and personal involement as Mandela. That said, he is a great black man.

tpiah:
is south Africa not in Africa again? Who told you she has no links there?

and if Nigerians can migrate to south Africa then why cant Oprah? huh I doubt south Africans consider west Africans more "family" than AAs. Most of them could care less- foreigner is foreigner.

besides, AA missionaries have been active in central Africa long before Nigeria was formed.

http://www.howard.edu/library/Reference/bob_edgar_site/maintext.html

Herbert Payne, (an AA Baptist missionary, was stationed at Middledrift in the eastern Cape from 1917 to 1922.

Yankee Wood, a former ship steward, settled in South Africa after the American Civil War. He participated in the gold rush on the Witwatersrand in the 1880s and owned hotels in Johannesburg and Kokstad.
What is this argument trying to prove? That Oprah is great? If so why point out these missionaries? How do they show that Oprah is great?

We should be very careful on comments we make about this Great man of God. This is no fluke neither is it a joking matter. I've been fortunate to be following his prophesies for some time now and i can give loads of them(you can equally search them out yourselves). Real prophets of God doesn't come all the time and we should appreciate and thank God we have one in our midst now. I know some of us are still sceptical whether anything good can ever come out of Naija land. Let us all sit back and watch this man's prophesies, healings and even works for sometime and then make our unbiased assessment of him. I believe God is still saying something in our generation
Don't be a mumu! You can worship God in the quietness of your heart.
People say corruption is our biggest problem. But the truth is that our main problem is a myopic mix of the following:
1. Smile while dying syndrome
2. "E go better" syndrome
3. "It is Gods will" syndrome
4. I'm praying for Gods blessing syndrome
5. I no wan die syndrome

A lot of blood suckers and vampires also avoid lifting a hard working finger because they can hoodwink their mugu's by feeding them a combination of the above.

Culture › Re: Why Weren't/aren't There Any Tribes In Europe? by Beaf: 6:24am On Jul 04, 2009
. . .It stems from colonial times and racism.
Tribe was originally used to describe groups of monkeys. Naturally, this meaning is omitted from most definitions.

. . .A group of monkeys may be referred to as a mission or a tribe. . .

We're always happy to abuse ourselves - there is also something labourers say when they attempt to lift heavy loads; ever heard eshobe? It means "apes obey".

Politics › Re: Nigeria Moved Up On Failed States List by Beaf: 5:41am On Jul 04, 2009
Lets stop clowning about the reason 9ja is on failed state alert.
Nigeria is not there because the govt. is corruption. It is there because of the Niger Delta crisis, religious riots and other areas in which the govt. has lost control.

"Common characteristics of a failing state include a central government so weak or ineffective that it has little practical control over much of its territory; non-provision of public services; widespread corruption and criminality; refugees and involuntary movement of populations; and sharp economic decline." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Failed_state#2009 (same article)

If you think the direct reason is corruption, you are failing.

Money can be a crashing factor in a serious relationship. Take this thing like a man, its experience.
Take her back if you still value her (except she has older sisters, in which case run! The parents have done it before and will do it again).

. . .But I suspect that manly pride might be the real obstacle (someone was there first in what was rightfully yours).
