Most times, pastors can have a tough stance on dressing, but I guess they are being over strict.

If you can't keep up with the requirements, you can equally marry outside the church and come back after marriage. No one is caged per say.

I have known Deeper Life Bible Church, and it is over twenty years. Tho I don’t often attend church services that much due to hustle on Sunday, but I have some Facts to make known to make.

Do you want to hear things that people won’t tell you about deeper life bible church? Sit tight and listen.

Pastor W.F. Kumuyi has corrected some of his mistakes in the past as regards doctrine

In a bid to maintain strict discipline during the early days of the church, a lot of strict doctrines were introduced. These doctrines didn’t come with consequences like people portrayed, but were just preventive measures to some common sins.
The television was banned, not because it was bad, but because it would give room for the devil to corrupt the mind.

“If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you.” Matthew 5: 30.

Right now the Television is now used to transmit the pastor’s message all over the world. He realized that God gave humans the spirit of “FREE WILL” and he urged members to make use of it the right way.

Pastor Kumuyi doesn’t have a personal Bank Account

It might interest you to know that the General Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church does not have his own personal bank account. He is under the church budget, and likewise other full-time pastors. He feeding, dressing, logistics is budgeted monthly by the church. He has no personal property, investments, and all he has is owned by the church.

One of the Criteria to become a full-time pastor is age
If you haven’t reached the age to retire from active government service, you can never become a full-time pastor in Deeper Life Bible church. Full-time pastors serve as State Coordinators, Regional Overseers, and of cause the General Overseer. Other positions are occupied by pastors who are still working and are not under the church financial budget.


Several Church Laws have been abolished by the General Overseer
In his recent messages, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi has preached against the enforcement of church laws that have no root in the Bible. Popular examples remain the Turban being worn in the church, the financial capabilities of a man before he gets married, and many other relating to technological advancements.
In many of his recent messages, he has preached against church leaders enforcing laws on members that would force them to drop their faith. His main focus was on the marriage committee of the church.

Holiness and Salvation is preached every Sunday
If you aren’t comfortable with someone preaching to you about Holiness, Salvation, Repentance, Restitution every Sunday, then don’t bother coming to church. That is the foundation of the church doctrine, and it will never change.

Deeper Life doesn’t sing and dance on Sundays because…
If you have been wondering why the church service on Sundays doesn’t come with dancing and singing, the answer is simple.
“It will weaken the body; make people fall asleep and tired when the real message about going to heaven is about being preached. We have a day to praise God for singing and praises, and that is during the Thursday revival service” Pastor W.F. Kumuyi explaining to BBC World.

Financial Prosperity is never the Topic of any Message
No pastor would come up the pulpit to preach about financial prosperity as a Sunday Message. The church focuses on “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and every other thing shall be added unto you”

Tithes and offering are collected and sent to the headquarters
Once it gets to the Church headquarters, it is redistributed to various states for the maintenance of churches in the state. If any Church project needs to be carried out, the amount is split according to the capability of members of the churches inside the same country.
No matter how long it takes to get the donations, the church will never seek donations from outside the church. That was the reason it took the church 5 years to complete the headquarters at Gbagada.

Finally, Laying of hands is not allowed in the Church

Pastors pray from their pulpit and miracle happens. "It doesn't matter if you are close or not to a sick person. God is still in the habit of answering the prayers of the righteous" Pastor W.F. Kumuyi.

I have chronic OCD coupled with other mental issues like ADHD, chronic depression, extreme anxiety, bipolar, Low self-esteem, Perfectionism(OCPD similar to OCD) and the Fantasy Disorder (i waste hours fantasizing about a character rich fantasy world i have created in my head for almost a decade now) and (i don't know) i think i'm autistic... It kills me inside... I have contemplated suicide but i'm afraid it will be too painful or unsuccessful (since firearms are not sold in this country)...

My mental issues started when i was around 5 years (or maybe since child birth)... My depression heightened during my secondary education at a military secondary school (Nigerian Navy Port Harcourt).

I stay in Port Harcourt and school in the University of Port Harcourt (Uniport)... I'm repeating my final year because my mental issues did not allow me focus on my project and two difficult Maths courses.. i find it hard to focus (ADHD) and study... If i am not battling with that ever present inner OCD voice, I'm fantasizing about another world inside my head...

Everybody thinks i'm rude because i am never smiling and i don't know how to talk to or reply people (I'm always anxious even when i'm familiar with the person trying to talk to me)... no matter how i try i will always say something awkward or I wouldn't be able to say anything at all (my heart will always seem to be racing and my speech stuttering)... So i just detach myself from people generally to save myself from embarrassment...

What my OCD and OCPD has obsessed and compelled me to do over the years is just so much i can't write all about it here... It's more than the regular "wash your hand before and after you touch anything if not you will be infected or fall sick" or "if you press the wrong letter while typing a document, you must clear the whole page and start again if not the document file will be corrupted"]... If ever i try to resist the OCD voice, I'll feel so uncomfortable, anxious, disturbed and drowsy... i won't be able to concentrate on anything at all...

Also, it has made me abusive to my younger brother... If he does something I(or the OCD rather) don't(doesn't) like ... Example, if he doesn't wash his hand before touching things in our room or doesn't follow a couple of sequence i normally carry out while cleaning our room... i get so angry, i yell or sometimes(rarely though) physically abuse him... Any little thing he does irritates me even if he is just playing music, making a call or even laughing at a joke he read on his phone... This makes me hate myself but i can't stop this behavior...

Side note:[I have nothing against Christians or religious people... Please, don't be offended] I recently stop believing in religion (Christianity in my case)... I see it as a mechanism implemented to make people behave and make people be motivated to live and enjoy life... I also don't identify as an atheist because most atheist these days are just religious about their non-believe... They will undoubtedly support theories like The Big Bang Theory and yet criticizes Christians for believing in the Creation Story... I don't believe both of the aforementioned theories(stories)... I can say I'm agnostic because i do not know about the origin of existence.. Although, when i was still an ardent Christian, my OCD voice will compel me to give large portions of my personal savings to "God" so that i'll receive a specific blessing or answer to a prayer request... lol...

I have not talked to anyone about my issues because i know they will not understand... during my secondary school days, i told my parents i was contemplating suicide... they beat me up and took me to church for deliverance... lol... so there is no point talking about it to my family...


I will appreciate talking to someone who understands... Please reply or email me...

A beautiful young Nigerian doctor has recounted the horrific moment she woke up during her surgery.

According to her she had gone under the knife after feeling a sharp pain in her lower abdomen, but due to anesthetic failure, she woke up during surgery.



“it all happened like a flash… I was at the salon wt my friend Edikan when i noticed a sharp pain in my right lower abdomen. I just brushed it off… I mean we were preparing to jet out the next morning.. So we finished and went to see a movie, now by the time we finished i literally couldn’t walk anymore.. The doctor in us kicked in… And i paused and quickly examined myself and elicited the signs to diagnose acute appendicitis and they were all positive.. So we go do a scan and it was true… Went to see a surgeon to clear me to fly the next morning and he examines me and says “if u as much as go a lil feet in d air, the pressure will cause rupture.. U need a surgery tomorrow..


Now this was already 8pm on sunday. I called my Dad and explained and called my bestie and immediately she got ready to fly down to were i was the nxt morning. NOW TO THE SCARY PART; “MY AWARENESS UNDER ANESTHESIA” SO I AM TAKEN TO THE THEATRE, PREPPED FOR SURGERY AND INJECTED THE ANESTHETICS AND MUSCLE RELAXANT AND THEN MASKED AND BAGGED AND BRIEFLY I WAS OFF AND AFTER A WHILE I REALISED I WAS CONSCIOUS BUT BECAUSE OF THE MUSCLE RELAXANT I COULDNT MOVE.. SO I JUST ASSUMED THE SURGERY WAS OVER… THEN I FEEL THEM DRAPE ME AND THE NEXT THING I HEAR THE SURGEON SAY.. OKK SO WE ARE ABOUT TO START…. I AM LIKE WT!!!! WHAT DO U MEAN..
THE NEXT THING HE MAKES THE FIRST CUT THEY PULL.. AND I COULD FEEL EVERY SINGLE THING.. I TRIED TO MOVE SOMETHING BUT COULDNT… I TRIED… GOSH.. I STARTED PRAYING.. I WAS LIKE JESUS HELP ME! HELP ME! THIS PAIN IS TOO MUCH! PLS HELPPPPPP!! AND WHILE I TOT OKK ITS A LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY.. THERE WONT BE MORE CUTS… THE SURGEON SAYS OMG! SHE HAS MULTIPLE ADHESIONS.. WE HSVE TO DO AN OPEN SURGERY.. I AM LIKE NOOOOO… GOD NOOOOOO! AND THEN THEY START CUTTING AGAIN… LORD JESUS..HMMM.. WELL FINALLY IT ENDED AND IT WAS MY WORST NIGHTMARE…


I GOT OUT AND TEARS WELLED UP IN MY EYES. BECAUSE FOR OVER 3 AND A HALF HOURS OF SURGERY I WAS AWAKE! I STILL DREAM ABOUT IT… MY SURGEON AND ANESTHESIOLOGIST KEEP APOLOGISING…TRUTHFULLY I DONT BLAME THEM BCS THEY DDNT KNOW.. BUT IN ALL I AM GRATEFUL TO BE ALIVE AND WELL. THIS IS MY STORY. MY AWARENESs”
