texaco1: good I think u are clarifying things in a simpler way for ppl to understand .thanks for this . Points number 1 and 2. Are ok. But the third point is murky and that is my question initially, what happens if this supposed trust worthy seller decides to play smart just because the buyer is from nigeria ,will ebay side the seller again because of his ratings or look at the facts? There is what is called Ebay's buyer protection, always make sure there is a buyers' protection on every goods you intend to buy before entering the transaction. With the buyer's protection, you will surely get back your money if the transaction goes sour, it doesn't matter whether the money has been released to the seller or not. |
drakeskull: Just about five days ago, I tried purchasing a item on a site even though my account couldn't cover up for the purchase, I just tried it to see if truly American sites would accept paypal payments from Nigeria. I got an error which is usual, I later got mails from paypal requesting me to verify my account again by sending my photo id, debit card and bank statement all scanned to them which I did and later got a mail the following day that my account is now fully operative. The bolded is your first mistake. Your account was flagged after the declined transaction. You shouldn't have tried a transaction for which you had insufficient funds, its a red flag for fraud. In addition, it was your first transaction and it came with a problem. Your account was monitored for subsequent transactions which led to this current problem. When there is a bias about a country, one shouldn't give them an opportunity to have more doubts about one's sincerity. Never ever try a transaction for which you have insufficient funds except you already have minimum of 10 positive feedbacks. I have been transacting on ebay since 2009 from Nigeria and never had any problem. I got a full refund once from a seller who shipped me a junk. I will not deny that ebay/paypal have issues but I understand that if their privacy policies are strictly followed, you will always prevail against them. Next time you intend transacting biz with any ebay sellers, go through his profile and read his ratings as well as feedback from other buyers. Read through the listing to be sure he didn't put any caveat that may affect the transaction should a dispute arises in the future. Have enough funds in your account to cover the purchase else you will be suspected for fraud and your account will be flagged. Read the shipping and return item policy of the seller to be on the safe side and if there is a problem with the transaction, file a claim within 21 days of purchase or else you lose your money. |
nubian22: i need advice from married people in the house, i and my guy are planning our traditional wedding next month but before i agreed to marry him, he made a promise that no lady will enter his apartment again that is from the day i agreed to marry himWhat is the meaning of the bolded? That he will no longer allow any female friend to visit him or will not have sex-ual female partner? I wouldn't understand why any man will make such a ridiculous promise. His being married shouldn't stop him from having friends among the opposite sex except he is known to be promiscuous. If he can't be trusted to make good decision and comport his vessel, then I don't think you need to waste your time hoping and believing he will change. |
coogar: i don't have a benz 200 to use as my human shield. When next you are in town, I will get you the 1965 model. Nobody will dare to pull any stunt against you.... ![]() |
coogar: you are one day away from an uninsured motorist ramming into your back. you would be sorry that day. i tried your method several times, the bus conductor came down from the bus behind me to punch my car. you ought to see his eyeballs - never seen an eyeball so bloodshot all my life.Sure, I understand you. It is the reason why I pull my "German Mistake" (Benz 200) on the road most times I intend teaching people road etiquette. They dare not ram into that body of steel, the taxi driver that once did will never forget the bitter experience because his vehicle was redesigned .For the "danfo" drivers, most are toothless bulldog. The best they can do is to shout. P.S. Do not try my method if you drive plastic car ![]() |
coogar: the quickest way to die in nigeria is by applying what obtains abroad to how they drive there. bellong, you can only play by the rules when other motorists are obeying the same traffic rules. When I am behind the wheel, I always force people behind me to exercise patience and obey traffic rules. The worst they do is to honk their horns frustratingly, I care less but the right thing must be done. |
Babymama1: Please give me practical examplesYou do not live in Nigeria, I may be short of idea on how best you can contribute your 2 cents. However, when you were "harassed" by custom and immigration officials, did you take time to find a superior officer and lodge a complaint? Did you send in a complaint to servicom? When you encountered a bad medical practise in hospital, did you forward your observation, complaints and annoyance to Nigeria Medical association for further investigation and disciplinary measures to be taken against the hospital? If your bad experiences were to happen where you currently reside, how would you have tackled it? Start by doing what you would have done where you presently live. Anytime you visit Nigeria, do you obey traffic rules or follow the bandwagon to break it? Do you join queues or you rather call someone to speed the process for you? The little you can do is by doing what is right at all times even if you are standing alone. |
Below was my response to a similar thread opened by Jenny last year..... The principal problem of Nigeria still remain Nigerians. The custom officer who molested travellers at the airport is a Nigerian. The police collecting bribe on the street and killing those who refused to pay is a Nigerian. The permanent secretary of a ministry who sits on government contract and collude with minister to divert fund is a Nigerian. The civil servant who demands a tip before doing the job he is paid for is a Nigerian. The mechanic who cheats a car owner in order to get more money from him is a Nigerian. Students that are supposed to be studying to become better in solving problems in their country but are busy finding a way of short-changing the system are Nigerians. Pastors sweet-talking their congregation to collect the members' hard earned money are Nigerians... Bankers diverting customers' money are Nigerians. In all the above listed, I have not mentioned the evils of government because the government of any country is a reflection of the followers. We need a value re-orientation in the country to kill this get-rich syndrome that has eaten deep into the heart of everybody including religious houses. Only Nigerians can save themselves from themselves. ***If your dad is/was a top government official/civil/public servants, and you are on this thread ranting about the country, you do not have that right to condemn the nation because you father is part of the problem... If any member of your family has an occupation in one of the stuffs I highlighted above, you have no moral right to point accusing fingers at the nation because your family members are the fabric of the problems...... If your parents are/were civil servants and they sent you to school abroad and you are on this thread ranting about the nation, you have no moral justification to speak against the nation because your parents probably paid your school fees with looted funds..... If while you were living Nigeria, you have used your connection and position to get what you need faster than what the system dictates, pluck the log in your eyes first before seeing the broomstick in others....... I can go on and on with my rhetorics.........**** The essence of the above musings is that in the little way we can contribute to the betterment of the nation, we should rather than complaining where no one will hear our rants... And I am not excusing Nigerians for the ill of the society but we all can make things work if we contribute in our little ways to the change we desire. little drops of water make a mighty ocean.......... |
Providence has delivered you from future doom, regrets and life of bitterness but you are bent on subjecting yourself to eternal bondage. Please tell, what is so special about this run away guy? Have you been told by a seer that it is the handwork of the devil? Why do you think he deserves a second chance in your life? A child is better off with a man that will nurture him to become the best he can be and useful to the society, irrespective of who is his biological father. If this your friend who is interested will be that man, I am sure your son will forever be grateful to you for taking the right decision. In the event that you return to the run away boyfriend and he makes life unbearable for your son, be sure that he will curse you tomorrow because you had opportunity to turn the hand of time but you failed. Shine your eyes, brain and head and do what is right. |

This is an hilarious read about Mikel's performance at the world cup... OPEN LETTER TO OUR FOOTBALLING HERO, NIGERIA’S BRAVE MIKEL OBI Dear Mikel, I’ve just been looking at you… I’ve just sat down in this my corner and I’ve been looking at you and the rubbish that you played in this World Cup. God knows if I had told you what was on my mind before now, FIFA would have banned Nigeria from competitive football for at least 5 years. Before the competition kicked off proper majority of Nigerians believed you would be key to the team’s chances, and if you had a good tournament the team would too. We had some concerns after the first few friendlies in which you played absolute rubbish, but optimistically waved your performances away chalking it down to the non-competitiveness of friendly games. Oya the World Cup started and it was time to step up to the plate. Apparently you left your plate back on the bench at Chelsea where you have a designated spot complete with a power outlet to charge your phone while the games are played. Against Iran Nigerians cringed to watch you stroll round the midfield like you were the reigning World Footballer of the Year, losing the ball time and time again with your ‘big-man’ passes and over-exposing poor Ogenyi Onazi as you refused to help defend. Okay, maybe it’s because it’s Iran and Mikel will step up against Bosnia, we said. Wishful thinking. We suffered through another lethargic performance in which you were nearly invisible and we saw more of the linesmen than your otu arse. Thank God for Osaze and Emenike, two of our standout performers at the competition for combining sweetly and bagging the goal that won the game for us. Their excellent performances overshadowed your disappointing showing. Osaze, a 32-year old player was running his lungs out that day while Mikel, reportedly 27 years old (although we know better) was walking about the middle of the park like he was at a picnic. We sha won that game without your contribution… Argentina vs Nigeria. The BIG day! The game we qualified for the World Cup to play! On one hand, we had the MVP of the 2005 U-20 World Cup Leo Messi and on the other we had the MVP runner-up in the same competition, Mikel Obi. It was expected that both ‘stars’ would renew their rivalry and influence the game for both their sides…We all saw how the story played out… Messi was in supreme form, scoring two sweet goals while Mikel Obi turned in another anonymous, god-awful performance that must have had Jose Mourinho frantically working the phones to managers of lower-league sides, trying to sell his professional bench-warmer to any club dumb enough to take a gamble on him. Three games, no Mikel Obi… Unlike 2005 where he and Taiye Taiwo (who was 3rd most valuable player) were old men bullying their juniors and forming stars, Mikel was competing in a tournament of his mates and was brutally exposed as a lazy player whose style of play was a big minus to his team. Remember that Messi is supposed to be your ‘mate’ o, but in terms of achievements he has completely dwarfed the hell out of you since your breakout tournament in 2005. Want to know some of your other ‘mates’ at that tournament? Fernando Llorente, David Silva, Pablo Zabaleta, and Radamel Falcao. Can you compare yourself in terms of skill and global reputation with these players you broke out with? Have you watched them play for their National sides? Have you seen their passion and commitment to winning for their countries? Would you rate yourself at par with them? Dear Mikel, as I kept watching you play rubbish I asked myself if you would put in the same performance if Mourinho was generous enough to field you. Would you remorselessly keep losing the ball like a secondary school player if you were playing at Chelsea, especially as there are more than 5 top players who can play in your position and keep you on the bench where you have been perpetually? Is it safe to think you believe you are doing Nigeria a favour by putting on the Green-White-Green? It is one thing to be an Ahmed Musa who is a frustrating player but gives his best (within the limits of his skill) and it is another to be a Mikel, an overhyped, frustratingly lethargic player who never seems to turn up when he is expected to. While your arse left a permanent imprint on the Chelsea bench last season a number of Nigerian football fans kept asking why Mourinho didn’t play you…Now we see clearly why, with you lack of forward movement and your penchant for only passing sideways. There’s really nothing special about you, nigga. If I compare your play to the lady who plays in your position for the Falcons, I’m 100% sure she contributes more to the team than you. delaw4u: Please what is the best shipping coy from minesota to lagosWhat do you want to ship? Minnesota is a landlocked area, there is no port there if it is something that requires a ship you intend transporting. If it is a car, you will need to get a truck to transport your vehicle to either Baltimore, MD or Bayonne port, NJ whichever is closer. You will need to book your shipping with a carrier (Grimaldi, Hoegh, Sallaum etc) prior to delivering your vehicle at the port and you will be issued a dock receipt with which your vehicle will be accepted. From the east coast, (NJ, NY, MD) it takes about 21 days to get to Lagos while Texas and Florida take about 14 days. depending on the broker you use, the shipping cost from port to Lagos is $900 - $1100 (This include courier fee to send your BOL). |
RTFM, Do not suppress whatever emotional outburst you feel, psychologists advised that letting it out helps and heals faster compared to suppressing it. It is a difficult journey but time heals all wounds, with time you will be healed. Though, you may not get over it but you will be healed of the deep wound the situation has caused. It is not time to allow withdrawal syndrome to take over you less you develop avoidable sickness. Look forward to the brighter future ahead.... I pray that a replacement better than the gone wife be given to you when you are ready for one. It is well with you. |
TV01: I agree.Sure as Oliver Twist, we may tend to ask for more but to be realistic, we couldn't have asked for more considering our expectations prior to the world cup. |
