annoymous: U make me laugh. Clinical IQ?? Lyk srzly. So u feel once u r good at medicine, u won't wanna quit? No offence, but it sounds like something my dad would say - just keep learning, you'll eventually love it. My wanting to leave medicine has nothing to do with my clinical ineptness, if there's anything like that.
What is it that you really want to do? Answering the question will give you a start on the next line of action.

AjanleKoko: Why would he need SAT if he already has another degree? huh
He probably want the SAT because of the scholarship gain. His parents may probably not support his pet eng. degree, hence an avenue of looking for solution to paying the tuition
Sat is secondary school level, not sure why he needs sat when he claims to have a medical degree.

Of course, could be the usual nl tales by moonlight where some touts claim all sorts of things.
He needs SAT for entrance into an undergraduate program, which is petroleum engineering, he stated above. In between, a good grade in SAT can get him full scholarship.

If you get a place of your own, then there is no problem. You can move in there together after the wedding so far you have a job good enough to cater for your needs.

It is well with your plans
Family › Re: My Dilemma!!! by bellong: 1:17pm On Jun 05, 2013
If what you mean is making plans for the wedding and getting a house concurrently. Well its not a bad idea but it will be improper to get married with your wife in your mother's house.

In all of your plans, make sure that you do not stay with your siblings and mum after wedding. Your wife must be with you in your apartment. If its about the financial resources, guess you can still exercise a little bit patience to plan for a better tomorrow.

It is well with you
Business › Re: Unending Delays On Shipments With Grimaldi by bellong: 8:24am On Jun 05, 2013
calculusx: Sorry Bro,i was meant to say False to "the owner is expected to pay for transporting the Cars from Port to Terminal" and not False for cars been moved from Port to Terminal. Grimaldi is responsible for cost of transferring the cars from Tin-can to Mile-2 Terminal. As a matter of fact, transporting the Cars from Port to Terminal may take days especially when there is Public Holiday within the week. My apology for the error

I'm not too sure about agents stepping down cars from been transferred to Mile-2 via Grimaldi but i prefer Mile-2 Terminal cos its secure. I have used several agents in the past to verify if its the agents that are actually stealing the parts but all effort prove abortive. For 1997 to 2001 Toyota Camry via AES most especially, the power window is a sure bet grin, For Nissan Pathfinder and Xterra, the alloy rim cup cover is another sure bet. For Honda Accord, the AC Nubs, the power window control and probably the extra key are sure bet. For Toyota Highlander, the Logos, AC Nub and Power window are sure bet while for Matrix the power window control is another sure bet. The list is endless

You need to find a reputable agent that will help in clearing your vehicles. I don't know much about AES but I know its not the shipping line that is that bad. The function of a shipping company is to ensure that your vehicles are shipped to destination the way they were delivered at the port of transport. That is why there is a stamped dock receipt that itemize all the accessories the vehicle came with. I have shipped Xterra and others via five star with nothing removed from it. As BizBooks earlier suggested, some of those agents could be responsible and blame the action on port rats.

Waiting for Grimaldi endlessly does not augur well with flow of cash. How will I wait for a vehicle for long when I can ship speedily with others and prevent theft by paying token of 5k to the port rats. Though, I never paid such money before yet never missed anything from the vehicle.

For the cost, I may like Grimaldi but for waiting endlessly, its a bad business for me.
Family › Re: What Will You Do When U Find Out That Your Grandma Is A Witch ? by bellong: 7:45am On Jun 05, 2013
From fairy tales, I know witches eat and suck blood while their Naija counterpart in movies donate their children to their covens. My question to you and your friend, "Why didn't the grandma donate her children to be eaten long ago? was she waiting for them all to become big and matured enough to be deliciously enjoyed?

I believe in divine revelation and workings of the spiritual realm but any revelation from God without a solution or way out is merely words from knowledge and not words of knowledge. If those your "men of God" did not receive solution to grandma's witchcraft, I will advise your friend to sue those seers in court for defamation of character.

This is why this nation will never move forward when we rely on people for what you can do yourself. Is there any part of the bible that says you can't go to God yourself for revelation of the unknown? What gives you the assurance that those people told you the same. We just have bunch of religious but ungodly people in the country, who only with their mouth love God but their heart and character are far from their profession.

Bible says, "If a man's ways pleases the Lord, He will make even his enemy to be at peace with him..." (Paraphrased). Please check yourself inwardly and your family and leave the poor woman out of it.

If you are convinced she is a witch, then confront her with a matchet/gun for confession (This is only applicable if you are gullible enough to believe a revelation without way out).

cretin: wow, good info!! didnt know grimaldi has dropped this low....whats the nearest port to CT?...is it NJ or baltimore?
Philadelphia is closer to CT than New york port.

@Op, I am not sure why those agents prefer grimaldi because the shipping line first goes to cotonou before entering Lagos. I have been using Hoegh shipping and never had problem of any stolen parts. The only issue is that the agent complain of too many fees imposed by five star. I suspect its because of the fees that they prefer grimaldi to maximise profit.

BizBooks: Sallaum Group usually has one vessel a month leaving from Baltimore. There is one leaving
tomorrow (June 3rd). It's too late to get on that. The next one will be on July 1st. They
stop over at Lome, Cotonou and then Lagos and usually arrive Lagos 21 days after leaving
Baltimore.
The sallaum (silver soul) you are talking about is actually leaving on the 7th June. If the person still wants to ship, he can book his shipment for new york or boston port. The last delivery date for those ports is tomorrow while ship departs on 10th June and 12th June respectively from there. I have their schedule with other shipping lines

Family › Re: What Can He Do To Make His Wife Happy? by bellong: 8:03am On Jun 04, 2013
There is nothing you can do to make her happy than bringing her closer to you. Since you are legally working/playing football in the country you are, why not file for her to bring her with you.

It is not a must that you should have a mansion or become a billionaire before you do the needful. The woman needs you by her side. It is never easy for the woman to still be living like a married single after marriage. Coming home yearly will not solve her problem but being beside you.

Meanwhile, let her understand that she may have to sit at home for sometime before she can get something doing if you eventually bring her to join you.

Her unhappiness is the distance between you and nothing more.
Family › Re: After Traditional Marriage, Am I Allowed To Live With My Husband? by bellong: 7:57am On Jun 04, 2013
There is no where in the bible that says you must be married in the church. To me, the church wedding is only to give the pastor relevance and also to make the ceremony more flamboyant. As far as I am concerned and I know, marriage is consummated when the bride price is paid and the bride's father consent to giving out his daughter in marriage. The father of the bride represents the authority of God in marriage not the pastor.

However, you will have to wait patiently to complete the process in the church before you move in with him because, your church may frown at that and not perform the "ceremonial" ceremony.

I will advise you wait or you ditch the church ceremony and enjoy your marriage... Happy Married life sis
Family › Re: Wife Vs Sister. Advice Please. by bellong: 7:35pm On Jun 03, 2013
This issue is a typical struggle and power tussle that happens between wife/SIL, wife/MIL. Women in general. It is left for the man in the house to clean up the mess and manage the situation.
The way a man manages the situation will either rip his home apart or create a solid bond between the ladies.

However, its a known fact that women hardly get along together in the same room. There must always be an issue except the very few broken ones who understand the value of life.
Family › Re: Wife Vs Sister. Advice Please. by bellong: 7:24pm On Jun 03, 2013
The Op did not give enough details to be able to analyse the situation with no bias. However, from the little given, the wife and sister must have been fighting over the years before the wife decided enough is enough.

The principal problem lies with the man in the house who failed to nip the situation in the bud at the early stage. It shows, he is not man and elderly enough to manage his home. If he cannot handle his sister and also manage the reputation of his wife, I wonder why you got married in the first place.

We never can say the circumstances that led to the wife packing out. It could be that the husband always support his sister against her irrespective of who is at fault, and this could have led to a point she decided, she couldn't take it anymore.

The husband needs to bring back the wife but must deal with the issue of his sister in the best way to conflict with the wife's territorial integrity.

Fasting and praying everytime, neglecting the needs of the wife is unwise and not even godly in a christian union. Tell him to learn to live a balanced life.

Family › Re: Married Women In The House Your Opinion Is Needed!!! by bellong: 8:56am On May 30, 2013
Poster, follow your heart and do what is right for your home. The decision and responsibilities that come with such decision is solely yours. You know your friend better, in terms of character and her values about life. It is not about your husband at all, it will be a sign of disrespect to your husband to think you want to shield your friend from him.

If she is a known friend that needs to pass the night in your house for an assignment in your vicinity, why not. Except you cannot vouch for her person and character.

To those using "oyinbos" as example, I think that is a flawed example. Our culture and traditions cannot be compared with theirs, not even in this case. That is what they grew up with and "worked for them". We understand and know differently. I would rather their advance technology and not some of their crappy culture with ho human face.

PS: I wonder where these ladies get the idea of "ALL MEN CHEAT" from. There is no post I read in this forum without that empty assumption. I wonder whether it is animal they cheat with or females like themselves. Assumption they say is the lowest form of knowledge, if your husband/boyfriend cheats, do not take every male to be cheat. That is character defamation to those who don't.

Masturbation is not an healthy habit. You may need to pretend to wake up to use the restroom anytime he is at it so as to let him know you are aware. When he is caught in the act, sit him down and talk to him at a convenient time. You can read the below articles to help him in breaking free from the addiction.

@Edakedkay,

I quite understand the betrayal part. Believe me, I walked that part before and all in all, I can boldly say that God is faithful. When the time comes, you will be happy for all these happenings and wish you could have reacted better during the period of this travail.

Gather your thoughts together and reflect on what God has done for you in the past, praise Him for it and you will surely see reason to thank Him for the present travail... He is with you always, He will never leave nor forsake you. Only cling on to Him.

It is well with you sis.

@Op, having had a short delay before the guy surfaced, I understand and share with your grief. Then I always take solace in this scriptural passages "... He maketh the barren to become mother of CHILDREN...." (paraphrased) and God promised the Isrealites " None of them shall be Barren.." We are the spiritual Isreal through faith in Christ Jesus.

I want to encourage you to sustain and maintain your faith, conviction and hold on God, the giver of children as recorded.... "... Children are the heritage of God..." He only makes all things beautiful in HIS TIME not our time... When it is God's time, I assure you, the seed shall surely germinate. God gave me a name for my unborn child months before my wife conceived. Cheer up brother, He will answer you speedily.

Do not let the actions/inactions of the myopic make you sorrowful. Nobody can boldly say he manufactures children, they are strictly prerogative of our maker. I join my faith with yours and declare with the unction we have from the Holy One that before the end of this year, you will share your testimony in Jesus name.

It is well with you... Be of Good cheer bro

@Edakedkay,

I want to drop you a piece of advice about your attitude towards "drugs". I know it is a forgone issue but for future sake. Pls do not mind the incoherent way I may try to pass the message across, I am very bad with writing/typing. I prefer talking.

I am an ardent and chronic believer of divine healing (healing without the intervention of drugs) I hate using medicine. However, you must realize that in marriage, such decision of not using drugs should not be your sole decision but in conjunction with your spouse. There are situations you use drugs and there times you stick to faith without drugs. In all these the Holy Spirit will surely give you a prompt and leading when to do any of the two. After all, Jesus never denied the importance of the medical profession when He said, ...only the sick needs a doctor.....(paraphrased). Please, next time any decision of such must be at the approval of your husband with a joint faith (one can only chase one thousand, while two will chase TEN thousand.) can you see the spiritual multiplier effect.

My sister, learn to always find balance with the two. At that point of your life, you needed the drugs. Always let your husband in the know when you want to go through the path of divine healing. A joint faith will chase ten thousand compared to self struggle.

It is well with you

Madam wedding planner(winks),pls put me on that list of asoebi and anything that will identify the NL crew.
I know everyone has been anxiously waiting to hear from me. Sorry for shutting you all out. Been battling with myself the whole time but I think I'm ready to complete my epistle. I resume work on Monday after almost a year. Tried that a month back but I was still disoriented. I think I'm ready now.
I lost Leona on January 16th. So it's still just me,bobo and DD. I don't want to go into details. Maybe someday I will. It's been a rough path but I'm grateful I'm here today though it's left me scathed.Putting this down is one of the difficult tasks I've had to face but I hope to heal thoroughly as life goes on.
I had a very good support system from my husband, family and friends who knew my history; and thanks to JennyKadry&winniegirl who tried several times to keep in touch.(Sorry I didn't get back).
Thanks are also due to everyone of you here who in one way or the other supported me.
Going through your initial post and this, I may not understand how you feel deep down with that loss but I know you must have gone through several phases from that time till now. Like betrayal of trust in God, Yes it happens and its normal, God is not disappointed with that. I want you to know that it will end well for you and your family.

Sorry about the loss. I will urge you to tap into His grace that is available to weather storms of life. One passage that keeps me through the "valley of life" is "WHEN thou passeth through fire...." It says WHEN and not IF.. Meaning, every child of God and every living soul will surely be tried in the fiery furnace of life, its only a matter of time. Just have this assurance that HIS thoughts for you and your family are that of GOOD and not EVIL, to give you an EXPECTED END/A FUTURE AND A HOPE.

Anytime you have the time, you can listen to the sermon delivered by Pastor Tunde Bakare last sunday titled "The cross and the rulers of darkness" Find below the link.

http://www.latterrainassembly.org/media.php

PS: I am not a member of the church, only happened to be fortunate to join the live stream on sunday. hence I am not promoting any pastor. I believe this message will restore hope, assurance and life in you.

It is well with you and your household.

She is actually looking at the issue from the point of making the guy accountable for his mischievousness. @Debrief, it is not everytime you act on issues about money. There are times you adopt the "serpent style" in dealing with monetary issues. In between, it was the husband who gave out the money, not the wife.
If the wife confronts the guy, it may portray the husband as a weakling who couldn't voice his opinion to the debtor (although that doesn't count).

Book of Proverbs says "... A wicked person borrows money and returns it not...." I bet you it will become nasty confronting

him. I know it is painful seeing him everyday without him making mention of it. Free your mind about it and follow your

husband's advice. When people you have not tested or do not trust with money come for help, only give them the amount you

can do away with. That is what I always do. I have been in a similar situation like yours before. Mine was at a time I was very broke but felt this my friend needed the money more than I do. Till date, he never talked about it nor apologise for not paying as agreed.

Next time, do not borrow anyone not tested money you can't give freely even if they come up with heaven and earth story. People can cook up emotional stories to break your purse.
