And is it the male gender that can exist with their fellow gender in peace?

Education › Re: Why The Government Is Right In Licensing New Private Universities (Opinion) by BigBashiru: 2:39pm On Apr 09, 2021
HigherEd:
1) Nigeria's Birth Rate Is Too High:

Every year, Nigeria adds about 200,000 more candidates to UTME. The UTME candidacy of 2021 is largely predicated on the birth rate of 1998 - 2004 which hovered around 6.16 births per woman.
In 2021, Nigeria still has one of the largest birth rate in the world with 5.4 children per woman. However, unlike 1998 - 2004 there's even far greater appetite for education and a dwindle in child mortality. What this means is Nigeria is set for serious admission crisis in the near future.

Any nation which wants a purely public funded education must keep her annual birth growth to less than 3.0 per woman. E.g Finland has 1.3 birth per woman, Sweden has 1.6 birth per woman, China has 1.7 birth per woman.

2) The Public Universities Are Simply Not Enough:

For public universities to solely handle admission would require admitting 21, 000 students per annum currently. Where is the infrastructure and finance for this? Note that even the mighty Harvard University admits less than 2000 students per annum even when it has 45000 applicants. Caltech admits only 300 students per annum.

It is popular knowledge that the smaller a university the better the experience.

3) Ministry Of Education Has Little Business With Industrialization:

I have heard many say "build factories". This is not the business of the ministry of education. The ministry of education is to provide well trained graduates, ensure quality curriculum and access to esucation. It is the business of the Ministry of Finance and Economy to create policies that fosters industrialization and uptakes graduates.

As long as people give birth with no discretion, there would be need to create more universities or regulate the number of children.

4) Your Education Budget Would Not Increase Anytime Soon:

In case you don't know, Nigeria has multiple challenges in varying sectors. No one is going to lower appropriation to health sector, security etc to increase allocation to education. So the attending inflation combined with population surge would only create worse classrooms, hostels etc. And there's nothing anyone can do about it.

This is because students in public varsities aren't paying the full cost of education. So as the purchasing power of the naira dwindles, the quality of education dwindles.

5) Every Private Varsity Starts Really Small:

Quite a number of folks easily scream substandard when they see a private university with five buildings. Having five buildings on startup doesn't necessarily equate substandard education.
As a matter of fact, most great universities actually start that small and grow rapidly over the decades.
A good example, Covenant University started with less than 5 buildings in 2002. But in 2021 it has over 200 buildings. Unlike the public sector, the private universities can grow because their business model is in tune with the realities of the economy.

6) Your PhD Graduates Need Places To Work

Academia is a service industry on its own. Most PhDs need to be absorbed by research centers, universities etc. The industry can only be robust when you have sufficient diverse institutions that can absorb the number of academics being churned out annually.

Then it seems people will continue to go through pain and hassle to get their dividends for a while as some Nigerian stockbrokers do not even offer the service of handling the dividend collection on behalf of their clients.

The process does not have to be this long which is why i said they could do all these through the broker who already has the necessary information.
Just empower them like it is done In some other countries to act as the intermediary in getting the dividend.

As an investor, i wouldn't mind ticking a box at the point of opening my stock brokering account that says the SB should take a fee for making sure dividends for every company is collected when due. That way i do not have to bother about who makes the payment and the processes/parties involved; be it CSCS, Registrars, etc
Nigerians love long process as well as passing people from one office to another and from one department to another.

When the news broke that Etisalat is going going to be managed by Nigerians, I immediately knew that the end has come for that once flourishing network...the best we've ever had.

Since after the handover, I've been experiencing glitches that affirm my suspicions the more that it's only downhill from here. These guys are going to run this network aground.

Take for instance this network challenge that I've been experiencing since the past two days. Something I've never heard of in the days of Etisalat. I called and was informed that it's a general issue. People in my area have not been able to browse for 2days now and 9 mobile abi 419mobile has not as much as issued at least a public acknowledgement to reassure us that they are working on it.

Same thing with Glo...Crab. Glo is being run like an LGA firm.

The same Etisalat that was been managed by the Arabs...same equipments... nothing has changed except management.

This is what is wrong with the black mind.
Network outage the whole day today. Negros are cursed spiritually.

is one of them.

It may be impossible to significantly reduce the pathological
inferiority complex suffered by many black men, some have
advocated education but the kind of education we have,
teaching people how to read and write, has resulted in little
to no improvement because many can read but cannot think.

He got 56 likes for his post, meaning 56 people agreed that
the black man has an innate problem and he is so stupid that
he is incapable of managing his own affairs.

If an Indian or a Chinese had authored this post, many of
those who agrees with it would have shouted "racist".
The fact that Buhari is in London now for treatment proves the Blackman is incapable of managing his own affairs.

Attributing every challenge or even failure to being "black" is of bad taste and indicates deep rooted inferiority, what's worse is that more people tend to do so lately. Every race have their own challenges and everything, every organization have got their own phases of growth. I am black and I have lived with people from different walks of life and races and I mavel at the level of admiration I get from them. I am confident and resourceful so I am well respected not because of my race but just for who I am and how I impact on other people's lives. Stop being inferior.
There is a trend though of any and everything managed by the Blackman being inferior

IMHO, the real problem with the black man is folks like you. I say this because your post reeks of ignorance about the issues surrounding the withdrawal of Etisalat from the franchise and the take over of the company by local creditors which resulted in the change of management and name change.

The company is indebted to near insolvency, the banks and other local creditors seized the company from the original investors and is trying possible best to salvage the company and recover their funds. Of course, a very likely fall out of such scenario will be an initial drop in standards as additional funds need to be sourced and technical positions left open by withrawal of Etisalat staff need to be filled.

To jump on this situation as confirmation of something wrong with your black skin or your brain is the highest form of self deprecation i ever encountered in my lifetime!!

Didn't Enron go burst? Or Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae??

These were big companies ran by white Americans! I sure didn't hear anyone condenm white people for these failures!!

Why, pray someone tell me, do black Africans feel so self assured of their inferiority and incapacities as humans?? Do you really hate yourseves these much??
What made the company indebted?? Isn't it negro mismanagement?? 9mobile has been off the whole day today.... making history as the first mobile network operator in the world to have outage for a full day in recent history.

The easiest way to end a crime is to promulgate law against it and execute judgement speedily. Let there be death sentence and not bailable for offences like kidnapping, terrorism, ritual killings etc in addition existing armed robbery and murder. The the judgement must be concluded to supreme court within one year. Once found guilty and sentenced to death, execution must be within 21days. The time frame is necessary to avoid jail breaks by the sympathizers. I noticed kidnapping was almost gone after Oshiomole signed death sentence in Edo and Ambode followed suit in Lagos. Most of the advanced countries like Russia and North Korea keep crime low because of the harsh judgments compared to America that is lenient with criminals. People ordinarily dont want to die and looking at the judgement before committing the crime has moral burdens. You don't beg witches because they are in to perpetrate evil even if you provide for their needs; the only language witches understand is violent prayers to destroy them. It is the same in the physical

oluwasegun007:
First of all the govt know the solution...but for so many reasons which include political reason they decide not to solve this problem.

Solving insecurity in this 21st century is centred around Technology and critical intelligence gathering which Nigeria currently lack.

Solution 1: we need to procure high tech unmanned drones that will man our territorial borders from unwanted infiltration and most importantly give our ground troops informed coordinate of insurgents and bandits location against ambush and attack and kidnapping..
NB: that this solution would be most effective in the north east, north west.
And it's much affordable when compared to solution 2.

Solution 2: launch Nigeria owned and controlled satellite in space (not the one launched and controlled from china). The satellite is to watch the entire country giving both the military, NSA, and para military information of ground activity throughout the country including the coastal region...the satellite would be a foundation to our missile program (that is if we have plan for any in the future) which would be launched at interval to destroy insurgents and bandits from their enclaves.

NB, solution one is short term while solution 2 is long term.

God bless Nigeria
