Hi, what's up? Just thought I should poke fun at what was written, as well as post some tinny-whinny bit of inflammatory post, but someone (Dnative) took it the wrong way and wanted to start antagonising me.

If you can read properly - presumption meant I wasn't !00% sure about what the author meant and decide to seek further clarification to see if this was otherwise. Definitely not the same thing as knowing for sure and giving a defacto clarification. I knowingly decided not to make further response to the author's last post as it would border on trivialities.

What has been dug up Mr Sensitive? A number 37 post to a number 34 statement? Did you fail to see the three sarcastic grin sign after the ouch comment? You, my dear, are the one making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Thinking out loud though, why is it that some Nigerians, and Asians are usually happy to play along too (cheat), but once they start earnng £30,000, of which they take home £21,000, they start complaining of people abusing the system to the detriment of the tax-payers.  I guess it is human nature.

well i am glad there is a clamp down because it is a huge strain on the NHS. Hospitals are struggling , what ? with MRSA etc , not enough staff and then to top it off women who have rich husbands come here to use the system when they have paid zilch into it. It is so so wrong. People working and paying taxes bear the full impact of poor SERVICES as a result of such people who come in to use the NHS as a holiday medical stop over. Many also bring their aged parents to sap the system , they bring them here under false pretences of ''a holiday'' then they use the Nhs for their surgeries etc. Do you know how many people who have lived, worked , paid taxes are having to wait ridiculously long for diff procedures? Not only African's do it, there are economic migrants from all over, especially India, Pakistan.To be honest it is called STEALING.

As a matter of fact, Nigerians are the highest health tourist in UK, the figure given as at 2002 was 1 in twenty NHS user is Nigerian, and if you consider the fact that Nigerians were given visitors visas by the bucketload in 2004, the figure is probably now 1 in 10.

Would an execption normally be made in a scenario where a holder of a visitors visa deliberately book a childbirth appointment with a private hospital, pays all the fees beforehand and embark upon the trip to the uk with the intention of actually giving birth there and at no expense to NHS or other public funds?

In this instance, you would need to apply for visa for medical purpose, not a visitor's visa.

Things are hotting up in UK at the moment. It is no longer easy to get travelling documents anymore, and you have to give your fingerprints to these guys that usually check ones passport before one reaches the check-in desk, despite the fact that it is only supposed to be for US bound travellers only.

Not only do some women use the NHS to give birth, some brave ones also want to use it as a springboard to get a council flat, and would give birth then claim to have no roof over their head. But the midwives would tell them that social services can only accommodate the baby, not the mother.

Thanks for your encouragement and kind words. I handed it without addressing one of the questions after it nearly drove me nuts, I gave up trying to fit 3000 words into a 200 words summary, but the lecturer returned it, and told me it was wrong to leave any question untackled. long ting

This thread, according to the well-mannered, civilised and astute originator of the thread, is about the beautiful and ugly side of UK in pictures, and invited all nairalanders to contribute in kind, yet some agbaya's with "serious issues" and a chip on their shoulder, took it upon themselves to wrongly conclude that the young perceptive guy was just showing off his digital camera and boasting about the fact that he was in UK.

A classic egg in their face moment ::: His antagonists, far removed from reality, and not being content with calling him a bastard, spouting irreverent nonsense such as I earned £500 per day, I'm swimming in my father's money . . . Boasting whilst wrongly accusing someone of boasting "aitete mu ole" . . .

Nigerian and their mentality sha, sour grapes like a discerning contributor said.

I once had this obnoxious friend who dumped his pregnant girlfriend because her mum sell clothes in Isale Eko, this same girl later went on to complete an access course for matured students, followed by a degree in Nursing all in the space of four years, and is now married to another decent guy.

As for my friend, I caught up with him seven years later and he told me he was doing an access course in law in order to be able to study Law degree, BECAUSE HE IS DATING THIS GIRL IN NIGERIA WHO IS STUDYING TO BE A DOCTOR.

I have concluded that the country is becoming more and more filled with illiterate brats who deserve a good slapping upside the head.

Apparently, illiteracy is so common that there is evidence of illiteracy in China (the world's #2 superpower). Illiterate children is said to be the result of lazy, irresponsible parents, therefore resulting in much lack of education. It's times like this that, although education sucks, it is very necessary.

If you had a kid who couldn't read a word, wouldn't you like to slap him upside the head too?

I agree with u on this one 100%.
If illiteracy is the inability to read or write, then it is widely acceptable in so called "developed countries". Almost everyone, even down to celebrities and head of states are clamouring for the rights to the term "I AM DYSLEXIC", and like to wear it like a badge of honour.

Here is what he can do:

"she said the guy is not romantic" -> it means he needs to write her poems and tell her "I love you" often.
"he does not take her out" -> obviously he needs to take her out.
"he does not gives her gift -> obviously he needs to give her gifts!
"he needs to spend more time with her" -> obviously he needs to spend more time with her!

The girl has already given him free answers to these questions. He just has to swing into action!

As long as it is not a one way traffic system. Guys too need all of the above. If your friend is already doing the stuffs listed above without her reciprocating his action and only complaining, tell your friend to move on.
