Christianity Etc › Re: 10 Things Christians Should Avoid In Church For Their Own Good. by bigtt76(f): 10:52am On Nov 17, 2019 |
You forgot to add 11. Don't go for altar calls just because you want people to see that skimpy or new tight-fitted dress. So guys and ladies are always fond of doing this every Sunday. 12. Stop falling under fake anointing even when no one comes near you UnknownJr: 1. ■ Constant lateness to church services and meetings. It proves that your love for God and the things of the Kingdom has grown cold. Wake up before it is too late.
2.■ Refusing to sit where the ushers direct you to sit, it's a sign of pride. Stop it.
3. ■ Always running out to pick calls with your phone ringing out so loud. Switch off or mute your phone as soon you get to church.♀
2. ■ Receiving calls repeatedly during every church services. It shows where your heart, your values and priorities are. Stop it.
5. ■ Chewing gum or sleeping in church during sermon. Remember the church is neither a cinema hall nor a hotel. Please show reverence to your maker.♀
6. ■ Sitting down during prayer or praise/worship session without any medical or health reasons. This makes you look very odd and unspiritual. Stop it.♂
7. ■ Always looking at the church clock or your wrist watch during church hours insinuating that church should close. Please stop it.⌚
8. ■ Chatting and playing games on your phone during church service. It shows you are not spiritual. Please stop it.
9. ■ Always leaving the church before closure for no particular appointment, making others who choose to stay till the end of service feel they don't know what to do with their time. Stop it.♀
10. ■ Gathering outside the church with other members to gossip or discuss football and politics whilst worship service is going on. Stop it.♂
Wake up people of God. The King of Kings is coming soon. God bless you.

I get your point here but actually, worshiping God is as the spirit leads. I know some pastors like guilty tripping members by making them overstay even when they don't have anything more to preach, they sha find something to cause unnecessary delays so their members can go bragging my daddy preached 5hrs lol Slynation: Op ur point 7 is a total NO for me.... U can't schedule a program for 8-10am then around 10:30am the service is still on and u expect people to stick with point 9.... No nah, by then some people will start leaving apart from those whose cars are packed in a tight corner |

It's not those that come late that are ushered to the front seats rather those that come early. Most churches like grandstanding and so would do all that is possible to fill up the front row seats before they begin live transmission of the service on social media xynerise: If you don't want them to direct you where to sit then come early and sit where you want. The late comers don't have to choose where to sit |

Yea but has the passenger applied for another visa since this was done? Or it happened on a recent trip? I'm sure with this expunged, s/he won't have issues with applying for a visa in the future with the flag on that there was a previous refusal. They usually ask applicants to state if they've been refused a visa before and the reason why.... I guess this is where such flags come in to play. If you lie and the on arrival, the flag is on, then you might be on your way out with the next flight. giselle237: I’ve asked the passenger and you’re politically correct. Only difference is that the person is not a first timer ... over 10 trips on 5 or 6 different tourist visas..but there’s a positive history of one refusal in between the 5 tourist visas. The border officer told the man they were filing for this so the refusal can be removed and so he wont have to face any embarrassment anytime he comes into d country by been held |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by bigtt76(f): 6:42pm On Nov 16, 2019 |
It's actually optional but I think some good officers just don't see why they need to keep pulling you o er each time because of an earlier refusal hence the need to expunge it from the record. Like the OP pointed out, the passenger wasn't a first timer despite being refused before hence why the officer believed there's no need having it flagged. Ignoring a flag a visitor's profile might come to haunt you the officer someday so why not deal with it when you can rather than allow that day to come (my thoughts though). justwise: Why? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by bigtt76(f): 5:04am On Nov 16, 2019 |
I doubt that the passenger isn't aware of this because the first thing that happens is that the passenger must have been placed in the holding area and asked to sign a holding form pending when his or her entry status is cleared. So what happens is that, once you've been previously refused a visa but issued one later on, and as a first timer, your name is flagged on arrival and its up to the border force officer to either query the flag to find out more or ignore it before clearing the passenger. Based on the clearance, the border force officer will invariably file that the visa refusal be expunge to ensure the passenger don't face such issues in the future. Except maybe the passenger wasn't listening properly. In any case, what's the issue? Did it affect the passenger's recent application? giselle237: noooo. as in Border officer at London Heathrow Airport. That's what the officer filed for... even though the passenger did not ask for it... the passenger doesn't & didn't know such exists |
Investment › Re: T-bills: Investors Storm Equities Market After CBN Ban by bigtt76(f): 8:23pm On Nov 15, 2019 |
The banks are now setting up platforms that Ena les their customers subscribe to targeted savings schemes that offers higher interest rates just as the likes of Piggy Invest etc were doing. Crazy! prof2007: Following the ban of individuals and small firms from investing in treasury bills by the Central Bank of Nigeria, investors poured money into shares instead, which boosted the market capitalisation of equities by N245bn. The CBN had barred local investors from participating in its treasury bill auctions in a bid to draw more foreign interest to boost dollar liquidity and prop up the naira.
The Chief Executive Officer, EFG Hermes Nigeria Limited, Lillian Olubi, had predicted that the equities market would see an increased investment and appetite from investors, following the CBN’s directive barring individuals and local corporates from investing in Open Market Operations auctions.
Olubi said the CBN directive would have a positive impact on the equities market, in which case such corporate organisations like pension managers would need to divert more funds into equities market investments.
In addition, the interest rates in the treasury bills market had crashed into the single digit region at the end of the Primary Market Auction on Wednesday.
The Managing Director, Afrinvest Securities Limited, Mr Ayodeji Ebo, had said following the crash of interest rates of treasury bills, investors’ search for alternative investments would intensify. Reuters reported that the CBN, on Thursday, auctioned N300bn naira worth of open market securities, but shut out local investors out of the sale – the second since the ban was introduced, which left investors seeking alternative places to park their money.
One fund manager, who told Reuters that he had been investing in cash and bank deposits since the CBN announcement, said he thought the treasury auction ban would be relaxed soon as excess liquidity affected the markets. The aggregation of these factors pushed investors to stocks, which recorded highest gain in five weeks, rising by 1.84 per cent on Thursday 14th November 2019.
The All Share Index, which had recorded a year-to-date loss of -16.1 per cent, rose to 26.843.11 basis points on the back of major gains, which were recorded in banking stocks. Activity level on Thursday was mixed as volume traded rose by 2.3% to 624.8 million units while value traded declined by 9.8% to N10bn.
The most active stocks by volume were Zenith Bank Plc (167.9 mn units), Access Bank Plc (99.3 mn units) and UBA Group Plc (67.8 mn units) while Zenith Bank (N3.2bn), Nigerian Breweries Plc (N1.7bn) and MTN Nigeria Communications Plc (N1.6bn) led the top traded stocks by value.
Performance across sectors was impressive as 4 sectors recorded tangible gains. Investor sentiment strengthened as market breadth (advance/decline ratio) surged to 11.3x from the 0.8x recorded on Wednesday as 34 stocks gained against 3 decliners.
The top 5 gainers were Ekocorp Plc, Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc, Guinness Nigeria Plc, United Capital Plc and FBN Holdings Plc, whose respective share prices gained 9.79%, 9.76%, 9.70%, 9.66% and 9.65%. Analysts at Afrinvest Securities Limited said following the marked improvement in sentiment in the equities market, a mixed market performance was expected in the short term as bulls continued to battle bears for dominance.

NYSC › Re: Suspension Of Ebonyi Christian Corpers: MURIC Reacts, Supports CAN by bigtt76(f): 4:15pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
Shenanigans Softcash: The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), an Islamic human rights organization, has reacted to the expulsion of two female Christian youth corpers from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp in Ebonyi State.
MURIC declared support for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
MURIC leader, Professor Ishaq Akintola, in a statement on Tuesday, said those expelled have the right to satisfy their conscience regarding what to wear and what not to wear in public.
“There is freedom of religion in the Nigerian Constitution and NYSC is flagrantly violating Section 38 (i) and (ii) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. NYSC is behaving like the notorious Gestapo. It is time to liberalise”, it said.
“It is not just a religious matter. Morality is involved here. NYSC seeks to destroy our norms and values. Our sons and daughters who were trained in good Christian and Muslim homes are stripped nude when they go for NYSC. This is unacceptable. Something must be done urgently if this is the mission of NYSC.
“It is absolutely wrong to force our daughters to appear in short knickers in public. It is against strict Christian and Islamic teachings. It is also an assault on the dignity of their human persons. They feel humiliated. It is a big shame. NYSC is flagrantly infringing the Nigerian constitution.
“NYSC was introduced to instill patriotism and discipline in Nigerian youth. But what kind of discipline can NYSC instill in corpers if the female members are instructed to wear atrociously short knickers that expose sensitive parts of their anatomy to prying eyes? This is a direct way of encouraging immorality and corruption.
“We invite CAN to join us in the fight against corruption and immorality. We can stop moral debauchery in Nigeria if we can all come together. Greed, avarice, massive accumulation of wealth and criminality will reduce drastically if Christian and Muslim leaders speak with one voice against all vices. This is better for Nigeria than being at logger-heads all the time.”
“We commend CAN leadership for speaking out in support of the two Christian girls who wish to dress decently. Nonetheless, we call CAN’s attention to the plight of Muslim female students who are facing persecution in South Western schools on account of hijab. It is a tale of two girls.
“The Muslim girl and the Christian girl from good homes. Both of them wish to dress decently. They feel assaulted if they are disallowed from doing so and they are both prepared to face the repercussion for challenging the status quo.
“This is why we find it curious that CAN has joined issues with Muslim parents who have gone to court to challenge tyrannical school authorities in Ibadan, Abeokuta, etc who lock out female Muslim students for using hijab.
“While the girls’ parents have gone to court to challenge the schools’ illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional decisions, CAN (which was not sued in the case) has approached the courts asking to be joined in the suit as interested parties on the schools’ side.
“We find it paradoxical that the same CAN has asked the Christian girls expelled in Ebonyi to sue NYSC. Now, how would CAN feel if an Islamic organization should also approach the same court stating reasons why the case should be thrown out?
“It is obvious that Muslims have nothing to do with the Ebonyi case in the first place, so why join issues over it? But why did CAN join schools sued by Muslim parents whose daughters are being persecuted? Is it for Jacob or Esau?
“We call on the new director general of the NYSC to intervene in the issue of the two Christian girls expelled in Ebonyi. Those two girls should be recalled. We also advise the new NYSC leadership to set the machinery in motion for a review of the NYSC dress code in line with the issues raised by religious groups.”

What's wrong with this one sef? Look at who is accusing another of attacking ....mad people everywhere arswear FactBoyz: “You Can’t Be Flaunting Private Jets When Surrounded By Worst Poverty On Earth” Reno Fires Back At The Indimis
Reno Omokri has replied the Indimi family after they attacked him over the comment he made referring to their family earlier today.
This morning, Reno called out their family and other wealthy Northern families after billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, donated N5 billion to Save the Children Fund. The money is expected to be used for the upkeep of impoverished children in Katsina, Adamawa and Borno state. In his post, Reno opined that many of the wealthy families in the North, the Indimis inclusive, are only known for flaunting private jets and getting married to chilldren of presidents instead of using their wealth to better the lot of children in the region. The Indimis in their response, asked Reno to take it up with God if he is mad that they are getting married to important persons. They also asked Reno to list his achievements asides him being an ex-presidential aide. Below is Reno's response to them Dear Indimi Family,
I saw your post attacking me. You shouldn’t see my criticism of your obscene display of wealth in the midst of the extreme poverty surrounding you as hate, neither should you see my opposition to your powerful in law, General Buhari, as bitterness. That is rather petty. Opposition is a vital part of democracy, and I am not asking you to do what I have not done. I hate to do this. I would prefer to keep it private. But since you challenge me, please find attached a picture of an orphanage I built with my hard earned money to house orphans from Borno IDP. Yet, I am not from Borno. I have also travelled to 36 countries so far in 2019, campaigning for #FreeLeahSharibu, a native of Borno, where you come from. I don’t have one percent of one percent of your wealth. You can’t be flaunting private jets and spending hundreds of millions when you are surrounded by the worst poverty on planet Earth and expect not to get called out! There are millions of internally displaced people in Borno. If indeed you guys are doing something, we will see it via the IDPs. Shut me up by making a difference to their lives! #TableShaker
