You guys need to help reset the man's brain .....ona for gather am beat the hell out of him jooooor! Hardeybaryor: Advise Needed!!! This Happened In My Neighborhood
Good morning Nairalanders,
Some strange things are happening nowadays. There is this man in my neighborhood who is having carnal knowledge of his own daughter. He has been cautioned some time ago to which he denied and after some confrontation he confessed to it and promised never to do it again.
This girl in question was then taken away from his vicinity to avoid repetition of such only to find out few weeks back that she has returned.
Now the problem is that the man has started again and this time around the wife caught them in the act but pretended not to see it. She reported it to my brother who told me about it and we called the man immediately to let him know what he is doing. He found out that the information was revealed by the wife and then started beating her.
Please what do you think we can do to help the poor girl and savage the situation.
PS Pardon my way if reporting. Mods please help loud this. |

Rain wasn't the only thing in the air during the final group stage match of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Paraguay 2019, as the goals also poured in as Brazil finished at the top of Group D with ease.
Mauricinho and Lucao put Brazil ahead before Egan-Osi Ekujumi gave the Super Sand Eagles a glimmer of hope with his tidy finish.
Rodrigo added a third with a driven left-footed finish into the far corner, but Nigeria were back to within one again when captain Azeez Abu carved out a one-on-one chance and finished confidently past Mao. However, Lucao got his second on the night with a precise volley.
Brazil pulled away completely in the third period as Rodrigo completed a hat-trick, highlighted by an impressively-high bicycle kick, while Bokinha scored a brace and Rafinha, Bruno Xavier, Catarino and Filipe all got on the scoresheet.
Brazil will face Russia in the quarter-finals after the Russians finished in second place in Group C.

Politics › Re: Border Closure: Obasanjo Says Benin Republic Must Mend Its Ways With Nigeria by bigtt76(f): 12:39pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
Absolutely! naptu2: It's actually both, not either or.
1) Nigeria needs to make its ports and methods of transporting goods more efficient. We've all seen the long line of trucks that took over all the approaches to Apapa and Tin Can Island ports. People should be able to easily move goods to and from the ports. In this regard, the return of the rail lines into the port (via the new Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge line) will help.
2) The bureaucratic bottlenecks that hamper clearing of goods from the ports is another issue. Hopefully this will be tackled with the Ease of Doing Business policy.
3) The reform of the Customs Service is absolutely important, particularly with regards to improving aerial surveillance and reducing corruption.
4) But it's also important that there's cooperation between both governments, particularly in the area of the repackaging of goods from Asia. I think that Nigeria should also get Ecowas involved because it is a violation of the Ecowas protocol. I don't think that either Obasanjo or Buhari believes that closure of the border is the solution to the problem (it isn't). Rather they both closed the border as a means to force Benin Republic to the negotiation table. In Obasanjo's case, the closure of the border forced Benin to hand over Amani Tidjani and the agree to a joint border force. |
Politics › Re: Border Closure: Obasanjo Says Benin Republic Must Mend Its Ways With Nigeria by bigtt76(f): 12:09pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
Exactly! Reforming the Customs Services is just one of many policies they would need to reform. Durchmann: I agree with your suggestions but we have to look at the situation on ground.
Benin and Togo can actually adapt to whatever measures we place to provide better port services. It's just like an army fighting against a militant unit using guerrilla warfare. It's difficult to curtail such strategies.
In my opinion, I would advise Government to reform the Customs Services with new and better work regulations and ethics.
There should be a carrot and stick approach to how customs officers are administered. I don't see why contraband goods should still be found in our markets and officers and men of the Customs guarding a certain border get their take home pay intact. We need to change the working rules of the Customs Service (and even the civil service at large) in order to effectively challenge and gradually stifle the crooked nature of the system. Prosecution is not enough.
On a good day, I will drop practical measures we can utilise to do this. |

Thanks Durchmann ......I agree absolutely but its because the government made it that way. If they can decongest the ports, make clearing faster and stress-free, trust me no amount of reduction the Togolese or Beninoise make to their port charges will make our businessmen still embrace their ports. The savings made from the reduction at Togo/Benin end is spent on transporting by road to the final destination in Nigeria. This would be cheaper if Nigeria make port clearing seamless and stress-free like Togo and Benin offers. The government is the main enabler of smuggling in Nigeria. Review your policies and see if smuggling would be attractive. Durchmann: Very explicit.
Bigtt76 , the highlighted is actually for you.
I wanted to respond to your suggestion on reformed port operations but Naptu2 did it faster. Here lies the reason why we have serial border closures from time to time. |

I don't mean the Nigerian traders in Benin but rather Nigeria-based big time importers/traders. Interesting but that would be a risky speculation for the Beninoise/Lebanese/Indian billionaires if not backed by collaborations between them and the Nigerians. They don't just export to the markets in Nigeria and wait for the Nigerian businessmen to come and buy ....that's my point, coupled with the fact that the ports in Nigeria is crazily slow thereby making the Benin ports the best choice. Okoroawusa: Have you been to Benin Republic?...there are billionaire beninoise who are importers coupled with Indians n Lebanese... Nigerians there are merely traders |

Look at these people.... US government has been on this man's tail since 2010 stop politicizing your travails. ajibola1979: The leader of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Ralph Uwazuruike, says President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government is masterminding the persecution the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema. He further alleged that they are using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to carry out the plot. Uwazuruike, who stated this while speaking with journalists insisted that the planned probe was not only a ‘witch-hunt against Onyema but persecution against the Igbo race.’ He was reacting to a statement by Buhari’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, calling on the Air Peace boss to face his charges in the United States, Daily Post reports. Insisting that Onochie spoke the mind of the presidency, Uwazurike warned that Igbos will rise against any plan to humiliate Onyema. Uwazuruike, who is also the leader of the Biafran Independent Movement (BIM), said: “There are lots of prominent people in this country whom the civil society organisations have even petitioned the EFCC against over alleged money laundering and the commission has not probed them. He said “I am an Igbo and it is my responsibility to defend Igbos which Onyema is one of them and I tell you that I have all is takes to resist FG from persecuting my people. “We have been pushed to the wall by the federal government and Onyema’s case will prove a point, so he should not be intimidated and must remain firm.” The US State Department of Justice (DoJ), in a statement posted on its website on Friday, said Air Peace Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, has also been charged with bank fraud and committing aggravated identity theft in connection with the scheme. But, reacting, Onyeama said all money transferred to the US went through the CBN, adding that the allegations were false and were in no way in line with his character as a person and as a businessman.

I don't understand all these Bénin this Bénin that.... Bénin are not that rich enough to just import goods and export to Nigeria to make money? Rather we the Nigerians are the ones using Bénin as the launchpad to import and send to Nigeria. The reason is simple faster ort clearing, improve on this and see if anyone would use Bénin ports again. I taya sef kahal29: Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has told Nigeria’s west coast neighbour, Benin Republic, to mend its ways for a harmonious bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Obasanjo gave the charge during a news briefing on the margins of Policy Dialogue of African Business Associations on Implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreements in Addis Ababa, yesterday.
He explained that Benin’s notoriety was not new, as Nigeria had for long been enduring the practice which undermined its economic well being.
“It happened when I was president of Nigeria. I called the then Benin President, Nicephore Dieudonne Soglo, to let us meet at any of our border posts over the issue.
“We eventually met at Badagry (in Nigeria), where we agreed that Nigerian Customs would be stationed in Benin.
“They (the Nigerian Customs) are still there. We don’t have issues with goods manufactured in Benin; they are welcome.
“But as long as Benin allow dumping of goods, there will always be problem with Nigeria,” Obasanjo said.
He noted that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) was not created to allow one country to turn itself to a dumping ground.
The two-day policy dialogue was co-organised by the African Union (AU) African Development Bank (AfDB), African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIMBANK), the AfroChampion Initiative and the Coalition of Dialogue Africa (CoDA).
On AfCFTA, Obasanjo, who is the Chair of the CoDA Board of Directors, said the execution of the agreements was crucial to its success and sustainability.
“The intense support AfCFTA has received from various member states is a clear indication of its importance.
“CoDA is highly engaged to seeking success of AfCFTA and other multilateral agreements. CoDA work is informed and guided by the notion that no one has monopoly of ideas,” he said.
He urged for more actions, beyond words, adding that with fragmented 55 markets, Africa would remain small player in global market place.
In his welcome address, AU Commissioner, Department of Trade and Industry, Mr Albert Muranga, called for a change of attitude on the continent if the goals of AfCFTA was to be attained.
“A new mindset is necessary. One country should not be going west and the other going east. All of us should be going in one direction.
“For AfCFTA and our dreams of African integration to meet with success, it requires cooperation from all stakeholders,” he said.
Muranga also restated the fears as espoused by members of the organised private sector on the dangers ahead of AfCFTA, assuring that such fears also enjoy the attention of the framers of the AfCFTA initiaive.
According to him, such fears include stability, predictability, fairness, corruption and enabling environment.
Other participants included the Co-chair of the Executive Committee, AfroChampion Initiative, Dr Edem Adzogenu, and Chief Economist/Director, Research and International Cooperation, AFREXIMBANK, Dr Hippolyte Fofack.
