OK thanks a lot. nativedoctor: Thomas estate has fairly constant power. But if you want 24/7 Power around Ajah you may consider fara park at majek. A 3br flat there goes for N1.5m per annum. VGC has up to 20hrs daily power but the flooding there is legendary. So Thomas estate might be your best bet |

Quite insightful. I will give you buzz on Whatsapp. Cheers. Ollymurs: The other estates i mentioned have a similar thing to what i described to you at Napier, besides that someone who can afford to rent an apartment or a duplex for 4m and above will surely have a use for his/her bq, either for man servants or drivers, so i dont advice you hold your breath on anythin in those estates.
You can get a good selfcon in some good areas in lekki all depending on your budget, prices of apartments in lekki are categorized by location for example a good selfcon from Oniru- Lekki 1 will set you back about 500k-1m being the hotbed of lekki but as you go further towards ajah the rent decreases but you will further face a decline in supply.
There is a good demand for selfcons but very little number of selfcon to go round that is where the problem lies, there are no purposefully built selcons in these areas because developers do not see a viable market for it given cost implications.
The few purposefully built studio apartments also referred to as selfcon within lekki to ajah axis are quite expensive ranging from a rental value of between 1m- 2m excluding service charge which sometimes is set at 300-500k.

Looks scary without a kitchen but still let me know the cost. Also if you c an get any in those estates you mentioned, please Hola. Ollymurs: Although i didnt list Napier Gardens on that list, Napier Gardens are bungalows of 3-4bedroom with usually a room bq and they have a rental value of between N2.5-2.8m, However if you desire a selfcon at Napier please note that what you would get is a bq in these bungalows, it is an ensuite bq with a toilet and bath but no kitchen and the rooms arent big.
I currently do not have any bq for rent at Napier Gardens, but if you are serious about your request I can contact a few colleagues to ask.
If you are ok with the above description of how a selfcon at Napier is please give me a mention and i will send you my contact |

I work on the Island hence my preference and also not ready to start furnishing more than a self-contained apartment. I currently stay at Elegant Court, Ajah and it is all I would ever want but the estate is completely run down - no electricity power for more than a month now despite the neighborhood having constant supply. Same thing with water supply. In terms of location it is just right for me but for these issues I'm pissed. I also don't want to have a generator. chronique: I doubt if they'd have such apartments there. Besides, the cost of such an apartment, would get you something decent elsewhere. I don't see any reason why someone should be paying 1.5m plus to live in a self contain, when you can add 1.5m to it and get a 5 bedroom duplex in Ikeja gra. |

Career › Re: 5 Tell Signs That Scream “You Need A New Job.” by bigtt76(f): 9:05am On Nov 26, 2017 |
Experiencing all these now but fear of the unknown keeping me down from taking the leap Please I need help anyone with a killer CV template to share with me? alus.beeme@gmail.com is my email. magazineguy: The truth is that there are no jobs. The youth are consistently been released to the new job market and there are not enough jobs or positions that will fit in for their qualification and they are willing to take any opportunities out there that are available to them. After all, in a work environment, everyone is replaceable – there is hope.
There is another truth. There are the ones who have a job but are depressed, uninspired, unmotivated or stuck. For this set, reasons vary from personal life, ambition or suffocating work environment. For these people, they would rather hang under a bridge jobless than wake up another Monday morning to a job they hate. But why are they still there? In those roles, positions or environments that are so suffocating?
Here are the reasons why you need to start job searching again
Stuck in a system of old ideas
Are you stuck in the 60’s in your current company? The management is refusing new ideas that will push the business progress further?
You need to GET OUT now. An organization that is refusing change and stuck in old ways is just waiting to close down. They need to open their doors to the new world to keep alive and you need to leave or else be stuck and irrelevant to the world around you.
No Room to Learn
Why stay in an environment if you have no one to learn from? You are merely limiting your abilities by restricting knowledge. A lot of people change jobs to gain knowledge or be more motivated in a different job. You can learn form both the old and young in your environment but if your current work environment doesn’t afford you this, start searching, you need a new job.
Passion
Where does your true passion lie? Is what you are currently doing bring you job satisfaction? Is it something you see for yourself doing for the rest of your life? If not, kill the FEAR you have and JUMP. It will hurt on first impact but with time you will find your foot and be happy doing what you like and getting paid for it.
Work Monotony
Everyone in your environment is comfortable doing the same things over and over. Nothing new to push or inspire you and you have obviously had enough of it. You need to find a place that pushes you, to inspire you or that awakens the monster in you. Never settle with monotonous work, get a new job.
Underpaid?
In a new job what comes first is, what can you learn and provide to this environment, then how much does it pay?
If you have worked in an organisation long enough to know that you are not paid what your qualification affords, then you have to move to an environment that can pay you for your skill set.

Please how can I get a self contain apartment in any of these estates you mentioned? Especially Napier Gardens? Ollymurs: First I want you to note that the topography of the island is just slightly above sea level hence prone to flooding, so if you are moving here please have that at the back of your mind.
However there are still areas that are properly planned with good drainage systems and water channels that minimizes the effects of flooding.
If the cost of leasing/ renting a place isnt an issue for you, then the few estates and areas I can recommened to you that isnt susceptible to floods are
Still water Gardens Ikate: Rent N3.5m Yearly Duplexes Friends Colony Estate Osapa N4m Duplexes, N2.8-N3m Flats yearly Romay Gardens Estate Ilasan N4m Terraces Victory Park Estate Osapa: Duplexes N4-5m yearly Pinnock Beach Estate Osapa: N6-7m Duplexes Nicon Town: N10-15m yearly Duplexes Carlton Gate Estate Chevron N5-7m yearly Duplexes Primewaters Estate Ikate Lekki: N3m Lakeview Estate Ikota : N4-5m Duplexes Royal Gardens Estate Ajah: N4-6m duplexes Silver point estate Osapa Terraces : N3.5M
Note that aside these estates there are other areas you might likely wish to consider, some parts of ikate, osapa, chevron, lekki right hand side.
If you want a more comprehensive detail of these areas and more places you can mention me.
I hope this helps |
Crime › Re: Suspect Beats Police Officer Trying To Arrest Him To Stupor by bigtt76(f): 2:51am On Nov 26, 2017 |
Makes no sense at all. You resisted arrest claiming innocent, you were now forced to defend yourself and in the course you committed a crime (assaulting and officer of law) and ended up in the police station you were avoiding before. The money you claimed was about being extorted will now have to be paid legally and of course you must treat the officer for his injuries. He still ended up in detention he was avoiding..... SMH. That's the irony of it all - VOs are humans and they have feelings. Their decisions are usually based on information you provided, body language and their perception of you and your submissions. Always best you don't go to the interview with a teleguided mindset, be as free and relaxed as possible and avoid unsolicited information. lionlee216: At times, it is just crazy. The only reason he gave is "He is awaiting is MSc final defense and decided to take some vacation and relax pending the time the day will come" that was all. He said that at lagos embassy, he was denied and said the said the same thing at abuja and got the Visa. |

I've never heard of applicants being bounced because they've been to Ghana or other African countries though and UK do not record such trips negatively either. What may have happened is if they visited Ghana or other countries and over stay or the entry stamps are fake (yes some private transporters not ABC or Cross Country sometimes try to cut corners and get their passengers stamped when they use fake agents) then the US VO sees it as a red flag. Same thing too can happen if you travel to Dubai and you get a fake visa from the agents here in Nigeria. The only country I know that may lead to a red flag is probably Somali or any of those fighting fighting Islamic countries If you package yourself well, as a bank staff and your wife working in Federal Government agency, should have no problem at all getting the visas - US/UK if you follow the suggestions I gave. I would advise not to rush to submit a visa application right after your trip to Dubai or any other African countries else they will question how many times in a year does your bank give to staff for vacation. Lastly, do not equate your own situation with other previously bounced applicants, look at your case differently from others. You never know what they asked those peps who visited Ghana or other countries before they were bounced. All the best. skytouch2: @bigtt76.
A big thanks for your response. I worked as a full staff of a commercial bank while my wife is a public servant with a federal govt agency. As you rightly advice that I travel to any west African country, though I will prefer Dubai because US embassy bounces so many peps claiming they have been to Ghana and many other African countries during my last US visa interview ,though I don't know how UK sees travel history of African nations. I just want and pray things are right for this one. Once again ,thanks. |
