Travel › Re: Lies Of Nigerians Living In America by bigtt76(f): 7:53pm On Oct 29, 2017
Very true but that is because the Nigerian system is dysfunctional. In civilized climes, you pay your bills else you cannot survive. In Nigeria, people find a way to avoid paying bills and that is why we are where we are today.

Abroad, you can't just bump into someone's house and join them in their meal, unlike in Nigeria where you can go to your friend's home and start cooking your own meal. There you work to feed and live.

Only sensible Nigerians survive abroad and that is because they always remember where they came from and what their end-game is all about. Some go there and loathe doing jobs that pay. They keep looking for jobs that they believe they're worth not knowing that such jobs are mostly the preserve of the locals.

Then you have those who in their first year, want to start living like Jay Z, Beyonce or the Kardashians grin those are the ones that end up begging for food stamps undecided

thebosstrevor:
i agree with you but the mistakes most american based nigerians thinks is that we are savage at home, uncivilised and very stupid for staying in nigeria.Nigeria has its ups and downs and people still survive but someone collecting food stamp in america shouldnt come and feel like an arrogant person in nigeria.infact many americans frown on people collecting government support, they see them as pest,a pest in america cant be a lion in nigeria

Sure. You need to build up a good credit for you to survive but it is still a good thing for them compared to ours here. The thing is, if you have a good credit score then it means you have a paying job. Unfortunately however, the system too tries to entice you into taking more facilities based on your rating and if you're not careful, you fall victim by living beyond your earnings.

Samething happen here where you find workers (especially government workers) taking loans from their various cooperative societies more than they earn and at the end of the month, what they take home cannot take care of their families ...corruption sets in. Ask me what they did with the loan they colected undecided

thebosstrevor:
that is what i thought too until i notice you need to have a good credit score for you to qualify for loans,i do watch one show on gotv on sonymax,it is called repo.if you collect something on loan in america and you delay or default payment for a month, the loan company will send a repo company to prepossess the stuff you collected, come and see americcans trying to claim another person and running away
Travel › Re: Lies Of Nigerians Living In America by bigtt76(f): 5:51pm On Oct 29, 2017
Not saying it's better but it works for them same way savings before spending works for us.

The only difference here is that they get more credits when they need it unlike us that must save before we can live.

An American school boy can just wake up and decide he's traveling overseas for a hike, he gets all he needs from the credit system. A school boy in Nigeria would need to save day and night to foot that bill and even at that would think twice about it knowing it's an expenditure and not investment.

Yes the American boy will be in debt after the hike but when he gets back, he's most likely to get a job and gradually pays off his loans even if it takes a lifetime, it doesn't stop him getting more.

Try that in Nigeria, ordinary LAPO de make people commit suicide how much more collect loan for hiking from them.

They don't ha e savings because the system does not want them to have it. You don't buy with cash in those climes, you pay via credit cards and believe me, it's almost compulsory that you must be credit worthy.

Having all these opportunities made them not to care about savings or even owning an account. It's only the millionaires that have these things and still they rely on their credit cards.

OP is comparing living in US and living in Nigeria. These are two different scenarios.

Nigerians living and earning in Nigeria can manage what the earn here and live comfortably. Likewise those in the US.

When it comes to investments, it may be easy for the Nigerians living in Nigeria to save and build houses but it is even easier for those living and working in US to save for such investments in Nigeria if they live a frugal life (which of course is the same as those in Nigeria).

BTW not all bank managers in Nigeria earn that much. You may be lucky as Bank manager to earn that if you've been a successful bank manager for years.

I still give it to the Nigerian hustlers in US, they can earn more if they hustle harder.

sad but thats what happens when they falsify their ages to make the team undecided All other countries with players who did not falsify their ages flourished with their respective national teams.

cheapgoals:
This one of those sad stories of players who were a wonderful youngster in football at some point, who even reached the glory, but today live a quite different life than the world imagined and predicted.

The story of ex-Ghanaian footballer Baba Sule is touching and somewhat being fruitful but loaded with challenges. the World-Cup winner had to conquer niggling injuries which made him hang up his boots in 2006.

In any case, Baba finds it hard to stop football totally and discovered his way to Fuenlabrada, where the club from opened new opportunities for him to wind up as the club’s new kit man, and he couldn’t be more joyful as a man who cherished, adores and will always love football.

In 1995, Baba Sule celebrated his most prominent achievement when he scored past former Brazilian shot-stopper Julio Cesar in the final of the U17 World Cup with the Ghanaian national team, who eventually ended up winning the U17 World Cup final, sparking a memorable moment for Ghanaians to savor.

Baba Sule wanted to make his name in Spanish football and landed at Mallorca only a year later, unfortunately, he contracted hepatitis, which cut his career off. That was his first difficulty he experienced in his footballing career.

Leaving Mallorca for Ourense, where he broke two bones up in his arm. Baba came back to partake in the U20 World Cup, where he scored two more goals, Ghana finished in fourth place in the tournament.

At that point in 1999, Real Madrid took a risk with the promising youngster and secure his services into their youth academy, but he failed to make an appearance for Los Blancos and proceed onward to Leganes. Be that as it may, niggling injury issue kept on plaguing his career.

Baba Sule suffered two hard injuries that forced him to leave professional football.

Baba Sule said in an interview with Spanish newspaper ‘ABC’: “I tore my ligaments in the first game of the season. I then recovered and on my first day back in action, I damaged my knee. It was very hard for me”.

He then went on to become a driver for Manchester United’s current goalkeeper, David de Gea, until he arrived in Spain’s Third Division, Fuenlabrada, where he cleaned boots for players and loaded the balls

“Football is like this, it has two sides, sometimes it’s the good and sometimes the bad, and the injuries have changed my life,” he admitted

Crime › Re: How ATM & Phone Thieves Defraud Unsuspecting Nigerians by bigtt76(f): 3:24pm On Oct 24, 2017
All the Chip and PIN rubbish CBN sold to Nigerian bank account holders can be hacked within seconds. Just get a card chip reader boom, you can figure out the PIN to the card which is stored on the chip.

If you've used a POS you will notice that immediately you insert the PIN, it tells you correct before it starts the process of connecting to the POS processor's server for onward handshake with your bank.

Best thing to do is always have 2 bank accounts - one current and other savings. Let all your salaries go to the savings account and don't tie your bank card to that account, rather tie it to your current account. When you need money, transfer from your savings account to your current account the exact amount.

Try as much as possible to ensure you don't leave funds on your bank card account.
