Good for dem! They lost to Uber and Taxify because those apps does the bargaining for you. Before the app, you could stand by begging and trying to bargain fares with the taxi driver and they would shun you ...painful thing is their cabs are not even clean sef they will be charging you an arm, leg and extra toes.

With Uber and Taxify, you get a view of the fare cost before you embark on the trip. Only thing is you pray that you're not stuck in some wicked Lagos traffic else you could be charged more than triple the fares tongue

lifeispeace:
Good afternoon my big nairaland family...
I'm in peril right now...
My ex boss has taken all the joy and happiness in my life...

I recently got a job in a small law firm as a secretary with a small amount of salary for startup..
Just 2weeks ago, I noticed that my boss started growing cold towards me...
I searched myself several times to know if I had offended him in any way.... I was always punctual in my place of work, courteous to visitors, and always polite....
He went away on a trip, and sent a letter for me through mail that my services won't be needed any more that I shouldn't bother to come back...

I was shocked perplexed and everything bad thing you can think of...
cry
I am so sad... He hasn't paid me my 2months salary and he has said he won't be able to pay because of recent downturn in revenue in the office.. The first month he said this I continued working because I felt he will eventually pay... Now he has retrenched me, I'm hopeless....
I have borrowed things on credit hoping to pay when he pays me... Now I'm severely stranded...
I am so vexed right now....
I know I can't afford a lawyer to sue him but Karma is surely my strengthhold...
I'm really tempted to expose the firm.. But you will never know when it could come back to haunt you...

In this life I will surely make it against all odds... Nevertheless all enemies of progress like my former boss and plenty more that are coming

Aptly explained! It couldn't have been any better.

Veron265:
I'm a born again 'catholic' and couldn't for the longest time grasp nor accept the gift of speaking in tongues...

Through positive debating, 'asking to learn, not to argue' sessions, my eyes and ears were opened by God's grace.

That said......

Gifts of Prophecy and Tongues 1 Corinthians 14

1. 1 Corinthians 14v 2
For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed no-one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.

2. 1 Corinthians 14v 4
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

3. 1 Corinthians 14v 5
I would like everyone of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the 'church' may be edified.

4 1 Corinthians 14v 14-15
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind.....

5 1 Corinthians 14v 18-19
I thank God I speak in tongues more than all of you. 19 But in church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.

6. 1 Corinthians 14v 22
Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy however is for believers, not for unbelievers.

7. 1 Corinthians 14v 23
So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?

That's all!

While the beautification objectives are laudable, most of the contractors made a kill. Take for example on the Lekki-Epe Axis where a contractor installed wall brackets with glass cover in public knowing fully well it would easily break off. That was what eventually happened and they had to change the whole thing again angry wasting public funds.

I meant offensive against the robbers not the customer. If the robbers wanted to raid the policemen, they would have first of all gunned down the gatekeeper and neutralize the policemen as they usually do before raiding the customers.

True. If you look at the video again, you will notice one of the plain clothe police officer, leave the gatehouse through the smaller gate leading to the road either to go and buy something or smoke undecided wonder why the other policemen at the back did not hear the shots or what?

TonyeBarcanista:
This sound like Bollywood stuff.

How can you say there were policemen at the place the officer ran to? Where were these policemen when the first shot was fired? where were they before the guy ran out of the room? This is pure nonsense
