How bar code wan take prevent piracy kwanu? Even Netflix videos are being pirated and you think digitization would help? The only solution is for government to make the economy vibrant where everyone is comfortable Trust me no one would want to buy printed things or even resort to piracy as a business.

You can only be deported back to the country whose passport you carry. He doesn't have a Spanish Passport so couldn't have been deported back there. The Swiss took time to verify his Spanish residency permit scheduled to expire and by the time they got a response, it was already expired.

LydayBobo:
Honestly am angry at Switzerland. Patapata you send him back to where he's coming from. FGN should intervene.. An injustice to one is an injustice to all.
Travel › Re: Man Drugged, Dumped In Nigeria After Two Months In Swiss Jail (pic) by bigtt76(f): 7:49pm On Aug 13, 2016
I was going to point out the same too @embolden. They probably thought he's here again to claim benefits and him telling them he's not here to work raised much dust. When he knew he had few weeks to becoming a citizen, why not be patient and be done with instead he de fly upandan now see Wetin happen. Sorry o!

tearoses:
I think this is where the issue lies
Something he must have said/done/written on his application did not sit well with the Swiss authorities and when he came back again, they grabbed him
His treatment was inhumane though, and that needs to be addressed even if they were going to deport him, they should have treated him fairly. He is a human being

Not like Taye Taiwo that was in UK celebrating his 27th birthday, leaving his twin brother in Nigeria to celebrate the 39th birthday.

Business › Re: Naira Surges As CBN Intervenes In Interbank Market by bigtt76(f): 8:01am On Aug 12, 2016
There's too much liquidity in the system which why Nigerians can still afford to buy the dollar at the current rate. Bring down the rates and they will mop up all the forex hedging against the rainy day. Floating it won't help either.

orisa37:
The CBN is surely endeavoring to improve the Naira, but should try harder. The CBN should take a bold Denomination Move to bring down Inter Banks Rates to N100/$1 so that its application of the 1.5 and 2 percent margin would trade Dollar at not more than N135/$1 to the End Users. The CBN can do this and has the power to do it to impress PMB and Nigerians. And thanks for ensuring that, henceforth, all forex imports from Oil, goods and services enter Nigeria only through the Deposit Money Banks(DMBs). That's the spirit.

Phones › Re: Do The Battery Saver Applications Actually Work? If They Do, Which Is The Best? by bigtt76(f): 7:06am On Aug 11, 2016
What they basically do is to close all apps or processes running in the background that drains your battery when not in use. You can on your own close them all if you can fish them out. All the best I use Green Power premium though. Works for me because it's premium, other free ones have money generating banners which themselves helps in draining your battery.

Politics › Re: Ben Bruce: Time To Revisit Redenomination Of The Naira by bigtt76(f): 8:14pm On Aug 10, 2016
Thank you my brother.

It will not help anything. Rather it will encourage the dollarization of the economy. People would prefer to be paid in dollars as they know the value could be hedged. When we would have benefited from it has long passed. Go ask Ghana, without a strong foreign reserve to back the demand, it would result in hyper inflation and weak currency.

What Ben Bruce forgot to mention was that when it was redenominated, one Ghana cedis was equal to one dollar but for how long? When demand became high the dollar rate sky rocket Ted and has not come down.

Redenominating the Naira now would not prevent the exchange rate from skyrocketing. It wouldn't be long before we wake up and see the dollar at 8 naira

eziokwubundunuwa:
I wonder what happened to Mr Bruce common sense to have made such a disappointing suggestion.

Redenomination will lead to astronomical inflation if applied to a volatile currency like Naira. It is best intriduced after stability has been achieved. Stability in Nigeria's case means when our economy moves away from dependence on only one commodity.

The only significant advantage is reduction of funds used in currency minting which IMHO has been reduced with emergence of electronic banking.

I agree but there just stuffs you and I know would not just work out and one of those includes the helicopters.... It just won't work! The technology is beyond the level of those boy lets be frank.

This one is so easy... Fabricate where to slot the corn cobs and also where to apply the heat beneath them finish.

No one would allow those boys fly that cap assuming it can lift up beyond 12 feets above the ground. Let's call a space a space!

Franky826:
these are Chinese undecided . The nairalanders have just their prototypes before the real thing. this one too had it before it started roasting the corn.

Travel › Re: The Proposed 4th Mainland Bridge: Top 10 Facts You Should Know by bigtt76(f): 9:06pm On Aug 09, 2016
Trust me the amount saved in compensation is greater than the cost of the bridge.

opalu:
There is no wisdom in saving thousands of houses thereby resulting in the project cost running into hundreds of billions!!
As a Civil Engineer, I understand that when you alter the alignment of the highway leading to the bridge, you automatically increase of decrease the cost of construction. In this case, I could advise the state government to reduce the length of this bridge! There are certain points of closest proximity whereby the 4th Mainland bridge could be the shortest. It is called line of best fit.

I just want to be sure contractor or financier is short-changing the government. My M.Sc project was on the Extension of the Structural Lifespan of the 3rd Mainland bridge. I discovered several troubling issues that both my professors or the professionals representing the FG on the project did not know. Truth is that the 4th Mainland doesn't have any business being that long or that costly. I am entitled to my views. No govt person should call my number!

God help Nigeria.
