Thanks but does the score influence one's approval?
If yes, what score is permissible for approval?
I'm not a VO, but one thing I would tell you is that attempting the test even if scores are not perfect is generally perceived to help build your genuine student case.

Tests scores aren't out yet but you could go on and make your comments.
Except the scores are really horrible, I typically advise to take it along.

Guys, I'm sacrificing my defence for my midfield and attack, wise choice?? cheesy
Hmmn I wouldn't sacrifice too much for attack. If you want 'cheap' defenders, at least go for ones that can get you clean sheets the next couple of weeks

If you studied Petroleum Engineering in school, these two master courses are in high demand in the US, they are master of project management and master of analytics. Hope this helps someone.
What does this even mean? And high demand for an MS program?

I beg to defer . . .... there is no age limit to a degree like a master degree or an MBA . The more important thing is been able to explain clearly why you want to do now and what value it will add to you.

Even here i have seen a 28 year who was given visa for first degree .
It's not about the age...rather that huge gap after the last degree. It's going to be tough to convince a VO, not impossible though..

If a student visa wants to visit Canada for holiday, how does that work?

I have to apply for visa at the Canadian embassy here right?
I’m just curious tho
Just apply for a Canadian visit visa through CIC online. You don't need to appear at any embassy/consulate..It's usually a quick process.

Please house just quick advice. Please i have a friend that applied for Aviation School in Florida. Phoenix east avaiation. they have denied him twice around March this year. He's planning going again for december. Hes married now and also he has been saying he didnt have anyone in the USA but now he has found one of his relative that lives in USA. can he put married now in his application? can he also state that he has a relative in USA? is the school a red flag at the embassy? He's confused but i dont know anything about Aviation school. please Guruz in the house kindly help this folk so that he can allow me to have rest of mind. thank You
Sounds like he's not married..plus found a relative shocked The friend needs to know he still has a chance of getting a visa provided he's been truthful so far. Adding false information will only complicate things for him. He needs to read through this thread. There have been few people here with similar profiles as his.

What does the administrative processing means
They are just additional checks that take place offline after the interview. If they happen to ask for documents, they'll definitely ascertain the genuinity of those. Falsifying documents would only land you in trouble in this case..big one!

Thanks Sis, at least someone understands my desire to maintain some level of discretion (even if it seems it's s unnecessary).

I already said the school hasn't responded to my application and it looks like it has taken longer than It should. I went further to state that it's a known public university; which makes me wonder why these guys are saying it's a bleep school( I suspect the word "bleep" sounds too nice coming from them) For the second time they fail to read between the lines.

Which other info do they need to give suggestions on what I should do?
It's a known public university..bla bla bla..what's that? You need help and you don't want to mention your school. You are not even admitted yet...smh..you are not ready

Discouraging people from applying to community colleges is very wrong. Not everyone is interested in going for their masters, people have their different reasons for going to study in the US. Someone with WAEC should be encouraged to go for an associate degree and graduate in 2 yeas, there are lots of job opportunities for associate degree holders.
Are you absolutely sure about this? Sounds like a joke

Me: my aunt

Your aunt can't be your Immediate elder sister.
Refire jor, have someone do a mock interview, look straight into the eyes of the VO and give a panic impression.
You're not getting the point here...no need giving any 'panic' impression. First VIU!!, then no tests written...it's all written in black and white

Hello house please, Whats the cheapest and reliable means of shipping light goods to Nigeria?
Cheap means you don't go to FedEx,UPS etc. There are local companies that ship to Nigeria by air and sea depending on how fast you want it. If you're close to the DMV area, I know of Midas shipping, Icon logistics. Their rates are reasonable. Google those. If you're not in the area, there may be something like that close to you as well-just ask around.

I am considering University of New Mexico, University of Michigan and Albany SUNY.
Hope, they are ok
They are okay. You can always pick 2 or 3 safe universities, in addition to top schools as well. Use US News rankings..you can also check some Indian forums out there to get an idea of what's top and what's safe in your field.

back to my question, as a graduate of accounting with 5 years experiences in non accounting field, is it advisable to go for Master studies in accounting say Forensic accounting or business analytics?
I don't know why I love that profession with all the passion and effort i put in to get accounting job, it prove abortive ( note I got to Partner interview stages 3 times: first one was one of the big four, the other firm is among the big five).
I know that it's possible through the knowledge and experience of the guru, this brings me to my second question what is the probability of getting a coy that ll sponsor your H1b after internship or OPT?
Thanks all
Good morning to those in naija and UK and Good evening to those is America.
My advice..go ahead with MS Accounting..maybe auditing and/or forensics. Sponsorship outlook is okay too, even by the Big 4. Make sure to go to a good school though.

Work as a GIS analyst

I have Geography (undergraduate degree).
GIS is interdisciplinary and I could get funding if I go for GIS/Geography

Is Geography/Geographic Information Science not viable? Whats ur take Yeah or Nah?
The reason I asked has to do with your plans post-graduation. You generally want to go for a course that can get you a job if you would like to work. I don't mean you have to go study something Engineering if you don't have a good background for example, but do your research into the American job market as it relates your intended major. If you're going to need a company to file a work visa for you, check some of these employment statistics that very readily available online-and then tailor your path towards that. Getting a visa and funding are just the first few stages in your career.

1. The cost of living depends on the location of the place. For example if you school in a big city like Chicago you have plenty of cheap housing options.its not a must to live in fancy areas
What if your school was located in one of those 'fancy' areas? Would you rather live an hour away from school? The point is that you can study anywhere you can afford the cost of living, and very easily move to anywhere you want once you graduate. Forget about 'big cities'...for now

Hello House and experience people like @Lagosismyhome, and @bigfrancis21,

Please, as a Graduate student on F1 Visa, what type of business petty things can your wife do in the US legally to keep busy as well as support financially while with you in US on F2 dependent Visa?

Is there any hand work/skills she can learn in Nigeria before coming that she can use legally? Am aware dependent are not allowed to take up employment while on F2 Visa.

Thanks in anticipation.
A dependent visa generally means you cannot work..except in some H4 cases. She can't really do anything legally. If she has a good job in Nigeria, she might be better off staying back and coming regularly for visits...especially if you guys don't have a lot in savings.
