Coolstan: your phone isn't an official Xiaomi device so naturally MIUI OTA updates wont work for you unless you do a port or use an unofficial version. Its has nothing to do with your cwm recovery and btw MIUI is based on android 4.2 not 4.3. Any 4.3 MIUI you see is a build.prop modI used the miui port from seunpaynes blog. anyway I have solved the problem. it was a cwm issue. the cwm I used the mtkdroid tools to generate was version 5. I think for that version once the signature does not match, it halts the update process. I flashed a new cwm version 6 and that gave me the option to install update even after alerting me the signature does not match. so updates working fine now. thanks |

I decided to try the miui rom. I like the built in system tools. I have not had the need to install dxtool box. I tried doing ota update but it reboots to cwm and I get error signature verification fails. what could be the problem? must I use a special cwm for miui? cos I made my own cwm using mtkdroid tools and I used it to backup and flash miui successfully. guys help out o. I also thought the miui was based on Android 4.3, it's still on 4.2.1 |

I broke up with two girls cos it wasn't working out anymore. the first one I have lost contact with but the breakup was so bad everyone saw me as the devil,had a lot of scolding from family and friends on that one.. but we eventually parted on a good note. the 2nd one is a business partner with my wife. knew her before I met my wife, also parted on a very good note. my wife is closer to her now sef than I am. the third girl that broke up with me ended up being my wife, I no dey give up, come and see begging  3 Likes |

the only reason I've not ported to miui is cos the ui is too iPhone-ish. if I need iPhone I know where to get one na.. anyways the reviews here are tempting. thumbs up once again to seunpayne. |

i have recently been observing that there seems to be scarcity of lower denominations of our dear currency naira in circulation. To buy recharge card sef now na wahala. na so so rejection dem dey reject N1000 and N500 notes. The general chorus in town now seems to be 'no change'. The public transport operators are the worst culprits. I dont get it. Is it not the responsibility of the person rendering a product or service to provide 'change' for its customers? somebody should please correct me if i am wrong, because most merchants act like its the buyer that has to provide change. where exactly did the shortfall stem from? i think the problem should be between our banks and its regulators that have refused to pay in lower denominations in our atm machines. For the economists out there, what possible effect can this trend have on inflation, deflation or whatever big grammar una dey use for una side. lets know if you're experiencing this new trend and your views.. |

next time when you buy a new phone, install a good security app. it is no guarantee you'll find your phone, but it may go a long way and you may get lucky. you can remotely lock the phone and it will silently use the front camera for take the persons picture when he's trying to unlock the phone. you can even record audio of what is happening in his environment and track his location via GPS etc I use Cerberus app and I think every Android user should have it or something similar |

What are u guys aruguing about?yes in a sense you are correct by saying hong kong is in china. but at the same time, hong kong is an autonomous entity. it has its own currency, its borders and culture different from china. hong kong money cannot usually be spent in china and vice versa. its laws are different from that of china. and people in china cant just go to hong kong, they will need a form of visa or pass unless they marry a hong kong citizen. even at that, they will have to keep going back to china every three months till they get a sort of green card. so the its not as simple as saying hong kong is part of china. i wonder what the whole beef on tecno is all about. even if you say they are a chinese company so whats the big deal? are you saying there are no chinese companies with good products? or what exactly are u getting at? or is it just a natural beef of tecno and gionee guys. cos if na that one, count me out. but if its argument for sake of learning one or 2 things, be my guest |

s3nn2x: Well I am not here to argue with you, but based on the link you posted, it just confirmed what we have been saying...Tecno began in Hong Kong. The only issue here is the perception of Nigerians and nothing more. If you are true to yourself, you will agree with me that Tecno phones had always stood out compared with other chinco phones that was produced years ago. It was kinda the only branded Chinko phone then. It succeeded in making a name for itself. Anyway, whatever makes you sleep well at night. The phone is cool, and I am proud to bring it out at work, and there is no time I bring it out that colleagues don't ask to see the phone. At first they will make fun of it, but when they hold it, they fall in love with it.seems he just posted links without reading through it. the link he posted confirms tecno started from Hong Kong before having r&d facilities in China and France btw was he not the same guy that was arguing quad core is not 4 cores?  |

Even the 4 cores and 2 cores.glad you finally accepted its a quad core mark6589 chip. it's also interesting to see tecno phantom A+ is manufactured by alps. no wonder the hardware is quite good. so I hope all you gionee users will let this thread be. the truth is starting right at you, I just don't understand why you find it hard to admit the e3 and A+ use the same chip set, so performance wise, they are in the same category. choices are made based on preferences, I bought A+ for my babe cos she won't be interested in custom roms and flashing and all those techy stuffs, I may decide to buy gionee for my self cos I'm more into tinkering. so to each it's own. the only reason why tecno, which is Hong Kong company do not have presence on xda is cos their business strategy is to cater for only Africans, so their phones don't get into the hands of oyinbos and na them dey start all these Rom tweaking stuffs, we seriously need more African developers 3 Likes |
