There's something fundamentally wrong with the brain of politicians when in office. Or probably they just say certain things for the sake of fun.
All recognised traditional heads in most states of the federation if not all collect some form of salary and other allowances from their respective State government.
If I may ask what is the purpose of such payments if the traditional heads cannot put some form of security in their territory.

They all have roles to play and they should do the little they can do.
Even in my clan we have a vigilante/surviellance network of people ensuring that are territory is safe as best as possible.

No state civil servant in Ebonyi earns up to 100k, their salaries start from 20-60k. The reason why most of them still manage to cater for their families is because they attach petty farming to compliment their little wages.

Ebonyi is one of the poorest states in Nigeria, no industries, no firms, no companies... nothing, once you open a hand-to-mouth business, the state taxforce will wreck you with tax. It's that bad, most young boys there are into cultism while the girls prostitution.

Infrastructure is good, but infrastructure without security, jobs and healthcare is nonsense.

At least infrastructure is good. For once Ebonyi can be counted among states that are striving to be developed.

Any ways can you tell us which state you belong to.........

True, unfortunately, even though those lies seem to carry their own power, cause many of those who hear them seem to interprete everything they read through the same filters the lies were served them.

I know so many so-called Christians who no longer believe the teachings of Jesus Christ mean anything today. To them, the meaning disappeared when Jesus Christ went to the cross, and so they do not obey His teaching because according to them, they are covered by what they call faith and righteousness and hence no longer necessary for them to heed and obey the teachings of the one who they suppose as their Master.
It boggles my mind just thinking about how it is they came to such a conclusion of Jesus Christ and His teachings(the very New Covenant agreement between each one who believes and God).

The TRUTH does not compromise HIMSELF no matter what men make of HIM in their own thinking.

I can't say what manner of christians they are.....
But......I don't see how a Christian can have faith and righteousness and not abide by the teachings of Jesus.....,except that one is not a Christian and practices something else.

I have been taking care of my mother since before I got married, I have other brothers older and younger but they are not financially buoyant. (So they claimed) I did not mind this but kept on caring for her ( house rent, feeding, other bills).

Although it's a burden to me, but she is my mother. Now my wife suggest that any money I want to give to her should pass through her (I will send to my wife then she sends to my mother) or she does the sending and I later pay her back.

Her claim is my mother is fetish with my money. I'm confused can this be true? Sometimes my mother will make simple money request my wife would say I should ignore her. She says she is taking me for a fool. I am beginning to get tired of this whole thing. Please help with advice or opinions.

Your mum brought you into this world. You do not need someone to tell you who or what she is.

You should also know who and what manner of woman you got married to.

If you're still curious then you just have to go to God in prayer/fasting and let Him alone clear your doubts. You do not need to let your wife or mother even know what you're doing.


As a man never pass money through your wife to your mum, siblings or friends. Give what you know your can let go of.

If you have not been observant of happenings in your house and environment now is the time you need to.

I understand what you are attempting to say but isn't a lie still just that... a lie... i.e. not the Truth?
Do you know why Jesus Christ had His disciples train under Him for at least 3 and a half years?
I believe it is so they are truly grounded in the truth of His teaching. That way, His teaching is written clearly on the tablets of their hearts, even though He also provided for His Spirit to remind them of all the same Truths.

When a preacher goes out, teachings in error, what he does is introduce lies(even if done in error) in the minds of those whom he encounters -instead of the Truth of God. If upon realizing his error, he is not able to go back to the very same to correct his mistake, or those lies have already been transmitted to others, those are souls that may never have a chance to learn the Truth because what was planted instead was a lie.

That is why Jesus Christ warned, not just against false teachers and prophets who will come in His name to teach lies, but also against blind teachers who will also end up

There are so many of your mega-church pastors out there, even there in Nigeria, whose mouths are filled with nothing but lies. Many of them don't even know the Truth of Jesus Christ but have been preaching those lies for many decades and so many millions have grown and raised their children on those lies. Now, someone might argue that those Pastors tell those "lies" in error, but they are lies nonetheless, and many of those who have been "nurtured" by those lies for most of their lives have become addicted to the lies, so blind that it is hard to get them to consider the possibility of the Truth of God.

Now, God is not going to change His Truth in order to accommodate those who were misled by these blind teachers and their followers who run in the 10's of millions. The Truth has been available for each and everyone to glean for the past 2000 years, so there are no excuses for these blind leaders and their blind followers. Now, consider what their end will be for those the Truth does not reach before it is too late?

It would be better for one to shut his mouth completely than to spread a lie in the name of God, even if done in error, don't you think?

Those who teach lies have their reward already prepared for them before they were born.

Jesus Christ, the Truth of God taught us exactly what we need to teach others... His teachings are what He called the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven -the Truth of God. When we go off, spinning our own teachings which we eventually attempt to append to the teachings of the New Covenant, Jesus Christ, what we teach then are lies, according to Jesus Christ Himself. Read Mark 7 to find where Jesus Christ warns against this teaching of doctrines and traditions/rules of men, which are in fact lies, as if we are teachings belong to God.

Now there's a difference between erroneous teachings and telling lies.

Erroneous teachings comes where the preacher does not clearly understand that which he is quoting and trying to explain. Those who fall in this category will correct themselves sometime in future as they continue in the work.

Lies is 2 ways. Those who deliberately twist God's word to outright gullible listeners while the order is preaching the doctrine of men as the word of God.

Truly the house is broke. Just go back to your village. More funds does not lead to efficient legislation and legislative duties. It's like a student complainig that he did not get good grades because he did not eat enough when going to school.
The people who needs money to run an efficient life are the low cadre civil servants not your likes.

For me I don't think it's necessary, it gives the preacher away as having complex issues needing validation from people. I think he should be able to pick that up from the reactions and responses from the people.

Now certain christian believers claim to understand what is being preached till when you ask question and you'll be surprised.


In where I worship what we do is to ask what each and everyone understands or derived from the preaching. This is done mostly on the week day programs.

There's a big difference between having a head knowledge and actually understanding it.

Before going to the East for my marriage introduction, I was skeptic because of what people do say about marriage in the East(Igbo land). I think it can be done with some modification.

But what comes to my thoughts now is you can do the parapet and a precast work at the edges like what is done for window hoods.

A parapet is a barrier that is an extension of the wall at the edge of a roof, terrace, balcony, walkway or other structure. ... In the Bible the Hebrews are obligated to build a parapet on the roof of their houses to prevent people falling.

Simply said, parapet is an external wall extension on the roof edge with a coping(concrete, aluminum,etc)

Truth is that we all have seen it in old generation Nigerian bank buildings and some other builds.

But if you intend to do bring out the boldness more in this build you should do a modified version of a parapet retaining wall before you roof at that low kingpost( no need for hidden roof per se)
I hope we know there's a big different between parapet walls and concrete fascia.

Just out of curiosity.....are you into building construction and which of the professions is your area of specialty?

The access is through the main building. Here’s the flow:

- You enter right the from main entrance or the kitchen.

- Go through the staircase to the first floor where there are 3 bedrooms and a family lounge.

- Go on another staircase leading to the master suite and the terrace on the pent floor.

- From there you get access to the tank.

I won’t advice or commit a dedicated staircase to this because it’s not worth it.

Talking about security breach , all these “plumber wound madam” or “housemaid stole Oga’s gold wristwatch” stories are part of the risks we are talking about because my first question will be “How did s/he get access into the main building?” And to do what exactly?

May the answer not be that he came to fix a plumbing leak.

Just imagine having to open/gain access to all of the main building because of water problem in the BQ.

I always take into consideration all these small issues in my designs. The client might ask for it but my job is to work with him to help him make the right choice.

Certainly you don't need a dedicated staircase for such. It's just positioning of the pent floor staircase extending the final landing while you have the doors for both entry to master suite and tank section on adjacent sides.

Sapele water means local gin(ogogoro or kai-kai or original). The strongest type is used to mix with certain roots/herbs to cure certain ailments. Just one shot of the original will determine the degree of mental carriage.

I’ve done all these before coming here. I mean trying to create a solution for a problem that’s really not there.

These type of problems are exactly what led me to having 5 entrance/exits (a potential source of security breach) in my personal build.

Some design features are nice-to-have but we try to make them a must-have.

The project is still in the design phase.

Since it's still in design phase and if it's a contemporary build and roof system going with a pent house. I think what I said should be okay. Do your structural to be able to hold a concrete tank on that section after the decking slab. The quantity of water to use daily should be ascertained so as to determined the height/width/length of the tank.

This is beautiful but how do you access it without compromising security and privacy.

The master suite is in the pent where this is likely to be. Any access from the exterior will be a huge risk and breach of security.

One of my old project had access to the tank slab through the atrium but unfortunately this build does not have an atrium.

You're saying you've already built the structure and at the moment you're on the 3 rd floor?


Don't know how you can incorporate it to the pent house section. But you can do your pent house design in such a way that the decking slab extends to carry a concrete cast tank.

Create an exit door via the pent house to get access the tank. The reserved opening can as well serve as a sit out for quiet moments.

Sometimes when I look at the way we go about religious things and start quoting the Nigerian constitution I laugh at our myopic hypocritical sanctimonious sentimental mindset.
