Good evening all, please I need help. I am a tier 4 student in the UK, I recently had a baby and want to invite my mum to come help me. My husband will fully sponsor her trip. Please do we still need her statement of account? My mum is just a petty trader. Also my husband changed to self employed January this year, he hasn't done all tax payment for this year. Do we still need to provide tax clearance? Please my people help me out. Thank you all
Tax returns are done 1 year in arrears. Meaning, if it is this year January that your husband became self employed then his tax returns are not due yet. The tax returns he should have now are the tax returns for last year.

My wife has been really helpful from when we started dating, she has actually taken me from grass to grace and helped me from a self contained to a 3bedroom flat. She has been helping with house expenses for over a year now, I do work but my salary is very small, just around 60k.

She is into business which flourished so much but it's a little down for now. She helped made our marriage possible by contributing far more than i. She is every woman's dream and is even poised to help me secure a better job and a side business.

I have also contributed my part in helping her grow her business though not financially but through technical support, expert advice and more as she just started her business the very month we started dating but though in a small way with very little capital.

I feel I have over burdened her with my own problem and she is carrying way too much on her shoulders cos her parents and siblings are also depending on her.
I felt a pinch of her frustration when I asked her if she could help transfer a little sum of 200 naira to me for airtime, she was about doing it when I told her I actually wanted to send the amount as airtime to my dad, then she flared up saying she will take care of me, herself and even my parents! I felt bad and terrible cos I rarely ask her for money to send to my people except on very rare occasions which are but a few.

I kept mute and didn't feel like talking to her and we haven't exchanged a proper conversation since last night when it happened.

What do I do? Even when I try to initiate a conversation, she doesn't seem interested
@Chizzy, is this your story or a made up story? I know you're a woman and you just got married. What's with the super story?

Where are MIL like mine? She turned on big gen, put on AC for me and even made up a room for me to relax in since I was feeling tired. I can't even wash plates when she is in the same house with me, she won't let me.

Why won't I still be with her son after almost 15 years?

Don't know where they get these MIL with househelp mentality. Sweeping when you have guests in your house.

grin grin grin You remind me of the incompetence in the Nigerian system...

In the late 80s, Nigerians were used to Water corporation guys going everywhere to disconnect their customers from water lines, the people begged them for meters but they won't provide one. Today everyone can use a pumping machine to get water from the ground and store it in tanks for future use.

NITEL was busy disconnecting people from the lines and bringing huge bills for the citizens. Today, well organized private telecom industries has taken over from them and Nigerians are happy.

Back to our beloved electricity companies holding Nigerians ransom, I believe a time would come when we will have more reliable players who will deliver quality service to all and sundry without making life difficult for the citizens...
I really hope that time will come soon. Hopefully, we will be able to afford it.

Dear, I run a business too. It's my prerogative to give my customers quality services. If I don't, there are other providers. Now, the onus lies solely on me to ensure my customers don't shortchange me either by better technology or the tenets of the law. Same time, I can't expect my customers to be always happy in dealing with my shortcomings. Some times I have to bear some loses. It is part of business.
The basic thing is to provide the services being paid for. Period.
Which is what they are doing, disconnecting freeloaders and those who are owing and still don't want to pay. It's not 24 hrs yet and they won't pay. When it is 24hrs, will they then pay? They will probably start shouting that 50k/100k is exorbitant.

Its so pathetic when i see folks like you who have the interest of the nation at heart but do not understand how corrupt the system is. Ever since I opened my eyes in this Nigeria, electricity companies do not believe Nigerians deserve 24 hrs stable electricity. Nigerians are willing to pay but the electricity companies keep disappointing the citizens.

The electricity men are quick to carry ladder for disconnection but not quick to provide digital meters to the people. Lack of organizational skills is the root cause of these problem. Let the electricity companies supply digital meters and anyone who bypasses it should be prosecuted and shamed for everyone to see...
The people in the video don't look like people who are interested in paying. If you can't pay for the light you see how will you pay when the light is made 24hrs? As a company will you give people 24hrs light when they can't pay for the 4hrs a day you give. Let's face it, electricity is expensive.

Serves him right, though the community may experience power outtage for a while, but it'll give the Nepa guys a second thought when next they're around same place.

Nepa guys are the greatest fraudsters of all time in areas without prepaid meters.

They extort with pleasure.
The NEPA guys just have to put off the light from their station without going there. It means everyone will suffer it for as long as the NEPA people want whether you've paid or you haven't paid. Even if you have prepaid meters.

Their excuse will be that the are is not safe and you guys can't do much about it.

Im trying to undertand why you called your FIL that same night? To talk to his daughter who is under same roof with you?

Tbh, i hate weak men who cannot find a way to resolve their spouse and marital problems without involving the whole world. Only in serious emergencies do you ring me by 11pm , dont disturb me for petty issues because you cannot control your impulse, think rationally as a man or react to everything you see.

You should have taken a cold beer and gone to bed. Have a long talk with your wife the next morning . . .like adults. 7 years of.marriage i should expect you to do better. Dont act on impulse, have expectations but keep your shock absorbers on 100% always.
I think she was the one who called her dad to speak to her husband on her behalf.

I keep wondering what their finance, internal and external auditors were doing that they did not uncover the fraud. The money seems material enough to me. From the basic analytics, revenue to number of students (both owing and paid up) should total up. Such a big mess.

As for the Daniel, who the Gods want to kill, they first make mad. That's why he couldn't stay hidden for long.

Not with the full razzmatazz. What they do is to divert traffic to the booth and put those traffic cones to demarcate. It's especially during weekends or mornings.
Travel › Re: Admiralty-lekki-ikoyi Bridge: What Is The Solution To Regular Traffic There? by blank(f): 3:31pm On May 15, 2019
hinograce:
Here is my submission. I hope someone can show this to powers that be and also FRSC:

We need to work on our traffic rules and regulations, remodel our roads and traffic light signs and road signs.

We can work with timing of the day as we know some times are high traffic times than others.

Using the Lekki Epe road as a case study with area of concentration from the "Sand filled" Toll gate to Ajah jubilee bridge.

From 6am to say 10am vehicular traffic is more from Ajah towards the Sand filled Toll gate. And scanty vehicular movement from Sand filled Toll gate towards Ajah. At this time of the day the side with less vehicular movement can be given one lane on while the free two lanes can be added to the 3 other lanes of the other side(I am assuming that stretch is a 3laned road on either side) this action will ease the traffic by almost 75%.

After these rush hours the roads are returned back to normal and these will be clearly communicated by road signs and traffic lights.

During closing hours say 5pm to 8pm the process is carried out again but this time on the reverse lanes.

This can be achieved on other roads in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria. All we need is a little modification. As we grow in population we need to evolve from old strategies to new ones that can accommodate the new trend.

This is my submission, someone should share it with people of influencee
This is already being done. However, in the evenings, you have an equal amount of traffic leaving Lekki as you have entering Lekki. Most times, they cant reduce or increase the lanes. The traffic on the Ikoyi side is also very bad.

They don't want the spillover of traffic to enter Ikoyi. Ikoyi na exclusive neighbourhood.
There is usually traffic on the Ikoyi side in the evenings.

Her mother has complained and her dad still insists on his course of action. She should toe her mum's line and take it as a test from God until her dad decides to wisen up.

I can already see the catastrophe waiting to happen.

What bull and what horns?
These ones are just waiting for your dad to die so that they can inherit his property and kick you guys out to the streets.

If your dad is not ready to do anything about it, there is really nothing you can do except complain to your dad. Especially as it is not your money or your house.

Your uncle is used to not doing anything and his needs are met. After 7 years of lounging, it will be hard for him to change. Your dad is between a rock and a hard place. God knows what his brother sacrificed for him. He probably sees it as his way of helping him. However, enabling a lazy man can never end well.
