Firstly... There are 3 aspect to every Man.. The Body(Flesh), Soul and Spirit.... Firstly you need to understand that when God breathe into man he deposited his spirit into man...Gen 2:7

The body houses the Soul and the Spirit... The difference between your soul and spirit is that the soul is where everything is deposited and keep your thought,Ability to decide both wrong and right, but the Soul also contains Mans Spirit...

Your spirit is what you use to communicate with God and connects with Him... That is why the bible said God is spirit and He who worships must also do it in spirit.. God has no interest in Mans Flesh


Now the tricky part is the soul of man can be influenced by Both the Body and the spirit.. Because A mans Soul can only understand the captain which directs it...


The Body(flesh) is a sinful existence of man because its has been cursed since lucifer was cast down..

If a man is not well grounded in the Holy spirit of God the flesh which is influenced by the Evil spirit on earth can easily corrupt ones soul...

The Soul itself can not sustain and survive on its own.. Its either its influenced by the corruptible Flesh or its Influenced by the Incorruptible Spirit of God... But the Soul can never ever be empty or alone... It must have a master... That is why theres always a constant battle of our conscience in making both right and wrong decisions

Now understand this... Due to the Sinful Nature of the Flesh it cannot transit into heaven because Habakkuk 1:13 said

That eyes of the lord is so pure that it cannot behold any form of iniquity... The Flesh being Sinful cannot enter heaven or stand before the throne of judgement
