badoh:
That's the way opposition think. Once they are not in power, they pray for coup. How has the countries with military government in Burkina Faso and Mali doing? Are they better off economically? Is there a path to progress? Most of the opposition parties crying now, if they were to be in power, would they pray for military takeover of their govt?
People are actually their own nemesis. Human underdevelopment is Africa's curse. All those saying coup is the way out lack understanding

At times it is okay if done with all sincerity of purpose to sanitize and hand over but hell no, it is simply an autocratic version of our useless democracy

have you compared the current government and any military government in Nigeria apart from President Buhari's government. A democratic government came into power and the country seems like they are mourning but a military take over and see how the citizens are celebrating.I can boldly tell you if a military hand over happens in Nigeria, there will be massive celebration 🍾
I am sure you are quite young and knows nothing about military take over. It is still the same corruption personified and about reckless looting. Despite that things where cheap in Libya under Gaddafi, how developed is Libya. Throughout the military rule in Nigeria, we only retrogressed as a nation. Watch all other military ruling countries in Africa have they made any significant change.

Don't worry, you will understand what a decree is soon

The people are happy but some useless and unfortunate leaders of regional blocks like ECOWAS and AU will kick against this coup.

The people of the black race have awoken, just like the Arab Spring of almost a decade ago. More military takeover is expected... The last ignoble, infamous election in Nigeria 🇳🇬 that witnessed a 'coup de democracy' gave the impetus and rise for all these military takeover.

Many other countries and even Nigerians are watching the Tribunal, and the verdict could finally nail the coffin ⚰ of democracy in Africa.

#AllEyesOntheJudiciary!
My friend, there is no awakening anywhere, if there is they will not celebrate coup but take to the streets to fight against injustice. But they cannot because they themselves are dimwits and cuts corners. Military rule is not a solution. A good example is Nigeria. The reaso behind Nigeria's first coup was corruption, and this soldiers are those that looted Nigeria to where it is now. Spoilt a lot of things. Took us from Regional system to a bastardized presidential system and started to create states indiscriminately.
Business › Re: Motorist Calls Out Fuel Attendants For Allegedly 'scamming' Customers (video) by Bluffly:
Shoodboi:
I once worked as an attendant at a filling station. What this man is saying is impossible...

While there's usually fuel in the hose, that fuel is not your fuel. The mouth of the hose (the part that enters your car) has a small machine that calculates how much fuel is sold. The meter (the screen that calculates the price and liters sold) begins counting the moment fuel leaves the mouth of the hose and goes into your car. Not when fuel enters the hose.

In this case, this filling station appears to be out of fuel and are trying to pump out whatever remains in the underground tanks and hose into the keg. And you can see that they can't even fill a small keg.

With that said, I should add that filling stations can't sell air either. Instead, what they do is that they adjust their meter to reduce the amount of fuel sold. So, they can adjust the meter to sell 0.8 liters for every one liter displayed on the meter.

And this scam is never performed by the attendants because they do not have access to the configuration of the machine. Only the manager (sometimes with the instructions of the filling station owner) can do it.

The highest an attendant can do is to sell less fuel than you request, say sell 1000 naira fuel when you ask for 2000 naira, but you can quickly catch this scam by looking at the meter and ensuring the price and amount begin at 0 and reads up to whatever price or liter you ask for.

As for the readjustment done by the managers and filling station owner, the only way to catch them is to buy it in jerrycan. But once you see your fuel is not up to what you requested, confront the manager (not the attendant) and threaten to report them to DPR.

If the manager is doing it without the knowledge of the filling station owner, there's a high likelihood he'll give you some fuel to calm you down🤣🤣🤣 If he's doing it with the knowledge of the owner, he'll likely offer you a refund.
You know we have a lot of illiterates in Nigeria. Same thing I explained to someone. The worst are those with BSc, Masters and PHds and yet yet dim wits
Foreign Affairs › Re: Gabon Residents Hail Soldiers, Celebrate Military Takeover by Bluffly: 11:54am On Aug 30, 2023
Pierocash:
This is to tell you how African citizens are fast embracing military juntas who they once detest, but now accepting them back. Because he that is down fears no fall. No military regime can be worse than what we currently have as civilian governments.

The first true attribute of democracy is the ability to elect leaders of our choice, but no, they rig elections, unleash thugs on people they perceive not as their supporters, beat up electorates, snatch ballot boxes even with the help of security agents, write results and announce it. And expect you to accept that as democracy , and tell you it is better than military government. If this is what they call democracy, sane African societies are telling them they will rather accept military government.

If the judiciary does not restore confidence , I am afraid for Nigeria, the whole world may soon read same story on headlines of various media outlets just like Mali, Guinea, Niger, and now Gabon , even though we do not wish for such
It will always be so when the people are passive and less ambitious. When the citizens lack unity.
Military rule makes no difference. Only dim wits will celebrate takeover because living condition will still not improve, rather they will also steal with reckless abandonment. Let the people themselve develop intrinsic life values and things will change.

Let me tell you. Give or take, we feel more human under under people rule than military.

Nonsense....If their father remained in Nigeria and invested his money in business here, while he only went there for vacation, as some idiots here would say, heaven knows these kids would not have achieved half of their potential.. If you have money to jakpa from this country and you don't, may God punish you and i pray that that thing you're looking for, you finally see it.
Can you see why you are not progressing in Life. Such a bitter heart. There are many family who grew up in Nigeria here and made it well in life. It is everyone's choice to do what they feel like doing instead of cursing your generation. Of course someone like you will only be a waste in a country like the UK because natuarly you lack content and you are more empty than a trash.

Just as there are many family in the Uk who explored opportunities and rose, so also there are many who couldn't get their feets there and this is also applicable to Nigeria.

Education › Re: Stop Sending Your Children For Holiday Lessons by Bluffly: 1:11pm On Aug 21, 2023
Oduok:
Sending kids to holiday lessons makes no sense.

Most of you will make your kids go to school till they become useless. You took them to school at age 3 and abandon them there. During long vacation you still send them to school. To do what?

Can't you spend time to bond with your kids? What exactly are they going to achieve in school during vacation? Vacation lesson only favour school owners, not you. Allow kids rest for God's sake.

If you should engage kids during long vacation then teach them skills. Enrol your kids in centres that they can learn practical computer usage, coding, programming, painting and decoration, catering, musical instruments. Let them learn martial art, how to shot guns, how to wrestle. Teach them something beyond pure academics.

If a school should organize long vacation class then it should gear towards extra curricula activities - debate, modelling, music concert, science fair, mini project. How would you call kids back to school during holiday to learn Math, English, Chemistry, Social studies, accounting, by same teachers that taught them during school period. What is the difference? If these teachers knew what to teach why didn't they do it during normal school session.

Education is beyond memorizing facts. Give your kids opportunity to develop and be better prepare for life.
I agree. But few hours could be created to focus on the weak subject before resumption

Preparation for the future

Before you blast the university...consider it that the university is preparing you for the future.

Most employers have a dress code. The more prestigous the job, the more refined the dress code. So, before we shout abuse at the university...remember that in the real world, there is a dress code.

Even if you are working in a factory, they would tell you to wear an ugly baggy uniform that is not fashionable. It looks ugly, but it is also meant to protect you from the machinery. (A sensible factory, not Oga Linus' or Ade's Furniture workshop..lol).

I used to patronise a bank when I was a student. Standard trust bank (now part of UBA ). And one thing I noticed about the bank tellers and workers was that all of them were observing a dress code. Nothing like 'baggy trousers, micro mini skirts, etc...proper coprporate clothing. When they were ';casual' they wore shirts with the bank's logo. If not that I was not willing to be a banker, I would have joined up as soon as I graduated..lol.

Don't complain. They are preparing you for the real world tomorrow...where an employer would make you dress very conservatively, and you can't complain because the salary at the end of the month is 450000 naira. Plus perks. cheesy
Only men have dress code in those organizations. Visit banks and see how seductive their female employees dress

And it certainly isn’t a sign that your partner
