mistyebby:What do you mean by Yoruba? Were there no Yorubas among the women who protested at the High Court premises? Is Falana not a Yoruba man? Has Soyinka kept quiet? You people will just open your mouths and utter garbage. Sowore does not even identify as a Yoruba man. He has said many times that he is not Yoruba. Moreover, when he started the revolution talk, he never said it was for Yorubas. He made it clear that it was for everyone. |
Thetruthshallse:When Fayose beat up a High Court judge, hope you also cursed Goodluck Jonathan and his supporters? Hope you cursed Fayose and his supporters? |
Lorenzop:Please, tell us what IPOB did when Kanu was languishing in prison? Do you know that the Igbo senator who stood as one of the sureties for Kanu is now regretting his actions, and did attempt to get a waiver. Kanu got bail and ran away in the same manner that Ojukwu ran away after leading millions of his people to their graves. You expect every other tribe to behave like these thoughtless men? Ojukwu declared war on Nigeria without having a single sophisticated weapon to give out to his men. The idea of Igbos like you is to rush into war without using your heads. Then, when the matter gets out of hand, you abandon your people and run away like the cowards you are. Ojukwu did it. Kanu was about to do it too. Many Igbos even believed that he had nuclear weapons. But a mere Operation Python Dance carried out with outdated weapons, and the supposed supreme and spiritual leader of Biafra ran away with his tail between his legs. He forgot those who were in jail with him. He forgot those who stood as sureties for him to get some freedom. Yorubas would rather think things through than act irrational. If Sowore had consulted any of the pro-Yoruba groups, I am sure they would have counseled him. But no, he declared a revolution on the government after the DSS had picked up intelligence reports on his frollicking with the wanted Nnamdi Kanu. |
Forget it. The match will not start until early Sunday morning. |
deolu2000:It is lazy to say that the DSS and military are a reflection of leadership. If you think this way, then, how can you explain police brutality in the United States? Initially, we had thought that perhaps racism accounted for police brutality on blacks in the United States, but why didn't it stop when Obama became president? Like I wrote, the brutality of law enforcement agencies goes beyond Buhari. Remove Buhari, and the problem would still be there. It is more of a mentality and institution problem than body language. |
donaldde2:Did Sowore consult or identify with any Yoruba group before declaring a revolution? As for Fela and Awolowo, I never knew they were killed. Also, there are no evidences that Abiola was assassinated. Men from different tribes were held in custody by the Abacha regime. It was not only the Yorubas that had a prominent son in custody. Even the minority group lost sons, including the amiable Ken Saro Wiwa. And while these men were in custody, people like Gani Fawehinmi, Wole Soyinka and Fela (all Yorubas) were the most vocal in the country attacking the rule of tyranny under Abacha. So, get your facts right. Another thing is, no country really likes dissents. Spain is a relatively more organized country, and yet the leaders of Catalan protests have been sentenced to jail. Even the United States (a state known for its liberalism) once went to war to prevent the country from breaking up. Sowore did not merely call for a revolution, he was frollicking with the outlawed Nnamdi Kanu. That is a crime of conspiracy against Nigeria. No government in this world would take that lying low. Mark my words. Not even the United States. |
mauchiz:Forgive him for working to replace a government that had proven to be ineffectual? What crime did Sowore commit that he should ask for forgiveness? It was within his rights to reject a government that had failed. I supported GEJ in 2011 as indeed many Nigerians. But toward 2014, my support for him waned and I began to desire a change of government. Is that an offense or a crime? Change of government happens everywhere in the world, and it is good for democracy. GEJ was removed legally. Deal with it. Everyone has moved on since then. That is the beauty of democracy. |
Bambela:No be only God-sent, na devil sent. God sent Goodluck yet Boko Haram was bombing churches up and down. Looters were having a field day. Billions went down the drain during the privatization of power supply, yet we never enjoyed 24/7 power supply. Buhari is not God sent yet it has been long we heard of churches getting bombed. I don't like this tyranny, but I hate it when people try to paint GEJ as a saint. If GEJ knew Buhari would trounce him at the polls, he would never have done the electoral reforms he did. Even when it was beginning to dawn on him that millions of Nigerians had rejected him, he tried to tactically remove Jega. Buhari is not a saint, but GEJ is not a saint as well. |
Patnweze:What did Chinua Achebe see? His book was about Biafra. Biafra was once a country (at least, from 1967-1970). So, I don't see how Achebe comes into this narrative. As for Kanu, he is very lawless, so he has no moral rights to accuse another person of being lawless. |
Gerrard59:Mid or early 80s ![]() |
God1stson:You are being insincere. When have our law enforcement agencies ever needed to read body languages to break the law? When Obasanjo ordered the occupation of Odi, Victor Malu and his men began to kill indiscriminately. Obasanjo sent another order to Malu to call the soldiers back to barracks, did Malu listen? Because a soldier was killed, many innocent lives were destroyed. And yes, it is in the constitution that when national security is being challenged, the rights of millions of Nigerians would overshadow the rights of the persons threatening national security. |
Numerouno94:Obasanjo was never like what? Seems like you were not born when OBJ governed. You people always think worse of Buhari. You think that if OBJ was the president, people like FFK and Fayose would still be walking free? People like Saraki will not even last 4 years in the Senate before bags would be released to legislators to impeach him. Except you are referring to another OBJ. Or have you forgotten Gbenga Aruleba who works for AIT. The man did a program and as soon as the program ended, he was in DSS custody. The only leader who beats Obasanjo in tyranny is Abacha. Buhari is a learner. |
deolu2000:I support APC, but I don't support tyranny. Removing Buhari will not end DSS or military tyranny. This tyranny is so ingrained in our society that it has become a part of our mentality. Imagine people joining military so that they can be bullies. I remembered a girl from way back using her soldier boyfriend to deal with anyone that offended her in the neighborhood. Or the friend of a soldier calling up soldiers to beat up someone owing him money. Imagine that mentality. Even comedians make jokes about Mopo slap and everyone laughs at these jokes even though they seem to trivailize police brutality on civilians. Instead of wishing people bad luck because of their party affiliations, why not just condemn tyranny. I don't support Buhari on tyranny, I support him on many other things, especially on infrastructures and agriculture. |
Beehshorp:What did he sow that he is reaping? Don't tell me that you believe that GEJ was a saint and that we made a mistake by removing him? Because I have a list of DSS and military atrocities under GEJ. If many of you have short memories, not all Nigerians have. We remember what transpired during the 2014 gubernatorial elections in Osun and Ekiti. We remember the students supporting APC who were arrested in 2014 by DSS. We have not forgotten the pregnant woman in APC Data center who DSS arrested and held without a charge. |
Flets:You say Buhari is a tyrant, yet you frown at the rights of people to make choices during elections. You are calling people fools for exercising their rights. Just imagine yourself as president. Many people will be in jail for exercising their rights in ways you don't like. You would have ordered the arrest of people like Fayose and FFK. |
Gerrard59:What Buhari antecedents are you referring to? GEJ, a supposed PhD holder, together with his team of highly educated ministers were already destroying the country. It got to a point that the Economist even called him "an ineffectual buffoon". This same Economist would later go on to advise him to fight corruption and save to prevent the country from going into a terrible recession. We had to save the country. Buhari came in at the right time. If GEJ had remained, we would still have run into a recession and for an administration like the GEJ administration which could not save even in the time of plenty, tell me how they would have survived a recession? Nigeria and Venezuela entered the same recession (caused by a fall in the global price of oil), but how come Venezuela was worse off than Nigeria? You can't tell me Buhari did not try. I am not in support of some of the president's actions, but I don't regret voting for him. He may not be the best out there, but Nigeria is more or less a two party state. It was either GEJ or Buhari back in 2015. |
Nicklaus619:You need to know it today that Sowore's activism did not start with GEJ. It started as way back as the military era under IBB. He did not just wake up and started criticizing GEJ became of some ambitions that you have mentioned. Except you want to also accuse him of criticizing IBB and Abacha because he wanted their positions. I agree with you that things motivate us to do certain things. But it is for everyone, and not just Nigerian politicians. You want to promote your song, and you give out free tickets to those who can't afford the ticket cost. Does it make you a good man? Not necessarily. Because even though you have given out free tickets, your decision to do so was also to help build your brand and package you as a good guy. Many of the foreign philanthropists who invest in Africa don't necessarily do so because they are good men. Many of them do to stay on the good side of the anti-money laundering act. |
Gerrard59:You people are funny. I guess you think of yourself as an intellectual. Tell us who you supported at the last election (s) ![]() |
apasino01:It started long time ago, but we did nothing about it. The Former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva has repeatedly stated that his trial was motivated by his political disagreements with President Jonathan and he was the one that prevented him from running for a second term in office who then imposed upon the state, his protege, Seriake Dickson as governor. Then it moved to Rivers State when five renegade lawmakers loyal to President Jonathan out of the 23 lawmakers of the House attempted to impeach the State Speaker- RT. Hon. Otelemaba Amachree. While in Ekiti, seven lawmakers from the People Democratic Party (PDP) out of the 26 lawmakers in the house impeached RT. Hon. Dr. Adewale Omirin the Speaker of the House and appointed Mr. Dele Olugbemi as his replacement. These three events including that that happened at National Assembly explain the above definition of a tyrant as defined by Plato and Aristotle. https://newswirengr.com/2014/11/24/opinion-the-making-of-a-tyrant-president-goodluck-jonathan/ |
Nicklaus619:You people should stop this nonsense about someone blackmailing Goodluck. Many of you have shown that you would make terrible presidents. Because a man exercised his rights by rejecting a president who was virtually clueless, you all want to crucify him. He rejected Goodluck and supported Buhari. He is rejecting Buhari now. That is the beauty of democracy. Maybe you people should try to respect other people's choices before you accuse Buhari of being lawless. |
sylve11:Which progress? They have neither money nor talent, and nothing has changed since then. So, what should I be vexing about other than their evident lack of talent. |
OyiboOyibo:Back to sender. |
All these bad, overrated actors with their piss poor melodramatic acting. They can't act jack even if their lives depended on it |
She is already too old to be a making all these demands. Moreover, I don't suppose that dwarfism is hereditary. I may be wrong, though. But I think if she were to marry a fellow dwarf like Shatta Bandie or whatever he is called, it doesn't mean that they would give birth to dwarfs. |
NGRsenate:I disagree. If we judge experience by number of fights, Andy Ruiz has had 34 professional fights to Anthony Joshua's 23. As at 19 years, Andy Ruiz was already sparring with heavyweight champions like Evander Holyfield while Anthony Joshua was just entering into amateur boxing. Andy Ruiz is clearly far more experienced than AJ and he used that experience to great effect when he met AJ in June. You all think it is a fluke to knock a big man like AJ down 4 times in 4 rounds? |
EngrMarve:Very underrated. |
Mzal3ndo:The head of government is the prime minister, who has the real power. The head of state may be an elected president or, in the case of a constitutional monarchy , hereditary. https://simple.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parliamentary_system |
Fake everywhere. Fake graduates Fake universities Fake soldiers Fake policemen Fake professors Fake pastors Fake booties and boobs Fake miracles Fake certificates Fake love Fake lives Fake death (Sky B comes to mind) |
mabeni:Nawa for the title of your post o This Lady Slapped A Guy to Zip Her Skirt Does that make any sense to you ![]() |
happney65:Christians are not mumus. Christians don't need to say anything. Only fools fight for their God. God is capable of fighting for Himself. Some Muslims know this too. They know it is foolish to fight for Allah. |
nkemjacob2:You are the one who needs to understand that our democracy is far from perfect. To you, only APC rigs. Which is why you think that APC rigs wherever they win but an election is fair wherever PDP wins. |
nkemjacob2:Are you saying they don't have hope in the judiciary anymore? So, why would Atiku contest the election results? Why does Dino want to go to court? Why were several of the 2019 results taken to the court? In Sokoto, the Appeal Court sacked APC senators and house of reps members. Why didn't you accuse the judiciary of being compromised then? The truth is that many of you are confused. When APC wins, the election was rigged. When PDP wins, it was free and fair. The question is: "If Buhari had the ultimate power to rig, why did PDP win some states at all? Why are some PDP members getting justice at the courts? When PDP wins, it is free and fair. Why don't you praise Buhari for those free and fair elections that PDP won? |
