In the original text, the word used was almah which can mean any of young woman, maiden, virgin. And not necessarily virgin. If Isaiah had used the word bethulah then, there would be no question about whether Mary was a virgin or not.

And you are wrong to say that only a virgin could have given birth to the Savior.

The truth is that God could have used anyone. The keyword is not virginity, but God's favor.

Supposing Mary was a virgin, it would be hard to believe that she was the only virgin in Israel at that time. The only difference between Mary and other virgins was that Mary found favor in the eyes of God.

If God could use a pagan king (Cyrus) and even called him My Anointed , then God can use anyone for His work as long as that person has found favor in the eyes of God.

For instance, the Jews did not expect that God would send the Messiah into the home of a common carpenter when there were families of wealthy Pharisees, Saducees and Scribes in Israel. But, man is not God. The ways of God is totally different from the ways of men. That is why He is God.

The university is purely online, and has no physical presence anywhere. Although, I have heard that some students organize groups to assist one another.

To get the scholarship, you need to write and state why you need it. You must be very convincing to get a scholarship. You will find a list of available scholarships on their website. Many of these scholarships are not for Nigerians and many African countries, but you will find one or two scholarship schemes for Nigerians.

However, you must first pay a processing fee of 50 dollars (I don't know how much it is now) which would be sent together with your regional certificates (e.g., WAEC, GCE) and your degrees (if there are any). After you have been given admission, you will then get your own personal portal from which you can access the list of available scholarships. You can get scholarships all through your program which would mean your education from start to finish would be free (except for the 50 dollars processing fee before admission).

Try an online program like programs of University of the People, and you will know that online programs can be even more rigorous than classroom based programs. With two registered courses, you have to turn in at least 2 plaigiarism- free papers every week, and you also need to provide at least 4 sentences of feedback to at least 3 coursemates.

In classroom based programs, you have lecturers to at least break down some topics, but in online, you are the one who would read textbooks and break them down yourself.

OK, I have just begun to watch the Indian series because my godmother is around for Christmas. So far, I have liked the character Siddharth.

But, to be honest, their acting can be extremely melodramatic a lot of the time. But they seem to have better picture quality than Nollywood, and a more sustained plot with almost perfect continuity.

But some characters can overact though.

As for Nigerian TV series, I have seen an episode of Ajoche but I didn't like it. The picture quality is impressive.

I watch The Johnsons now and then but I don't enjoy it.

It is understandable that her narrative might seem exaggerated. The gunmen couldn't have kept shooting for 30 minutes but it must have appeared like that to her due to fear. Perhaps, they kept shooting for 1-2 minutes and the moment might have seemed so endless that she felt that it was up to 30 minutes.

As for the number of bullets removed from her head, that is hard to believe. The shockwaves of one bullet penetrating the head can do a lot of damage all by itself, but the shockwaves of 10 bullets penetrating the head would kill any human being. Another angle might be that the bullets shattered the glass on the car door first which reduced their velocity so that they didn't hit her head with their original velocity.

Supposing she was hit by pellets and not bullets, well, it would still depend on the velocity of the pellets, as well as the trauma it causes the head. Supposing she was shot at, and the pellet hits glass first slowing it down, well it might not be as dangerous as when traveling in its original speed.

In all, everything depends on what part of the head the projectiles hit.

I remembered a certain girlfriend of mine whom I had not even gotten serious with at that time. She came to my house for the first time and saw the beautiful clothes that my house help had. Then, she began her interrogation. I told her that I was the one who bought the clothes for the house help, and that I had plans to see her through at least until she obtained a GCE or its equivalent. This girl could not even hide her jealousy. She said I was spoiling the girl and I must be preserving her for sex when she eventually develops yansh and boobs. I was so disgusted by the whole thing that I immediately drove her back to the bus stop I had gone to collect her from.

For some men, it might mean nothing since they probably do anything under skirts. But for men like me, it is a disgusting accusation. And I will never take it lying low.

Every individual's self interest creates balance and equilibrium. You can't argue that in Saraki`s senate self interest, they helped keep the executive in check. They are both independent arms. It is dangerous for democracy to have a cosy senate and executive arm. The senate are like auditors keeping the excesses of the executive in check. They end up protecting the self interest off ALL. All of a sudden, we are having serious anti people policies being thrown in the senate. We are about to borrow $30b in one fell swoop. It is not even staggered. We spend half of our budget on servicing current loans. What will be left next year? Imagine if Saraki had approved the loan in 2016. We would be finished by now and still be wondering what the money was used for. This is not sentiments on any part but is this senate considering that unsustainable future scenario?

But what would you want the government to do?

To impose heavy taxes on the citizens?

Saraki and his cohorts were a clog in the wheel of progress. They were driven by personal vendetta and ego. Imagine a Senate earning over 10 million naira per head every month squabbling over whether a comptroller general should wear uniform or not. With all the problems bedeviling the country and with the need for urgency, the Senate could not put aside their ego for the good of the country.

It is best to avoid giving advice on issues such as this.

For one thing, these misunderstandings are between the wife (a woman) and sisters-in-law (women).

I often wonder why women find it difficult to get along with one another the way men do so easily.

Moreover, from the OP, she complained that the sisters influence her husband. What if this is entirely not the case?

A woman wants her husband to take her side all the time she gets into a fight. And when she is wrong and the husband says so, she accuses him of taking sides against her. Then she starts to draw further conclusions that would further complicate the matter.

Then, some sisters-in-law can be unbearable too. They want to bully their brother's wife. I can't seem to understand the rationale behind trying to bully wives into worshipping you simply because you are her husband's sister. But then, it appears like women can't just get along with one another. Always fighting like cats and dogs, and then they expect a man to take a side in their never-ending wahala.
