Very foolish of him to make this video. The DSS will smoke him out using this video. |
fairfora:What was the need to call him oloshi ![]() Many of you are destroying boxing with your Nigerian style of loving and hating. There is no need to antagonize Ruiz simply because Joshua has Nigerian ancestry. Both men got nothing but respect for each other. You should respect both men too. |
ruggedtimi:He just wanted to win. I was disappointed too. But when you frollick with a defensive boxer like Wladmir Klitschko, you tend to come out very boring but successful. For a man who humiliated him and kicked his ass around all night back in June, one would expect some sort of violent revenge from Joshua, but all he did was follow Klitschko's advice: run, grab, and press down. Just survive!!!If he stays close to Wladmir Klitschko, he would definitely beat Wilder if Wilder manages to beat Fury (which is unlikely). But, at least, he got the result. Now, he is back in the mix for a unification bout. But for now, I don't see him beating any of Fury or Wilder. A little more work on his defense (still learning how to lean), he should beat Wilder by UD. Oh, I forgot that Wilder is taller than Joshua so leaning would not work. But Joshua's defense is still suspect. And anyone with a poor defence who enters that ring with Wilder, sorry would be his name. |
owila4luv:Women tend to jump into conclusion more than men. But I am curious. What were you doing in a hotel, and what was your ex doing there too? |
owila4luv:Violence is bad. We should always avoid violence at all cost, except where necessary. But in this case, violence was very unnecessary. If a woman ever cheats on me, that is the end. I am not one to forgive a cheat. I won't say another word to her until I have had my lawyer serve her divorce papers. |
DannyG8:God forbid. Did you see that woman's picture? For Christ's sake, how can anyone beat a human being to that extent? What sort of madness is that? That was heartless. Now, he needs to pray that that woman comes out of that coma. If not, he will be hanged. So, where is the gain of resorting to barbarism? |
So, what did he gain now? Instead of divorcing her, he beat her up. What if she had died? People need to understand that violence only complicates matters? |
StrikeBack:Around 260. With Joshua having slimmed down, he has very little muscle from last time to weigh him down. But Ruiz has gone on and ballooned. If I were Joshua, I would just run around Ruiz. Ruiz likes to come forward, so it would make for a perfect strategy. By 3rd round, all that fat on Ruiz would be taking a toll on him and he would gas out. A win for Joshua. |
doitforyou:Don't mind them. I am happy to meet someone who has the same thought as me concerning this issue. During the JAMB exams of a certain year, it was discovered that parents were paying CBT officials to increase the scores of their children. Even teachers collaborate with invigilators to allow children cheat. The society is so sordid that a child of 15 is already so money conscious that he wants to go in the Yahoo Yahoo business. I saw one recently. A boy I taught in junior secondary already driving a car. The society is too corrupt. Even Obasanjo said Jesus Christ could not conduct a free and fair election in Nigeria ![]() And yet, some people think it is solely a leadership problem. The very structure of the country is rife with corruption, right from the family to the church. Where does one start? How many leaders do we change before we realize that this problem goes deeper than that? Even these leaders that they like to blame so much. Are these leaders not a reflection of the average Nigerian. Put the average Nigerian in a position of authority, and the first thing he thinks of is ensuring that his generations to the fourth and fifth never know poverty again. Put police uniform on the average Nigerian, and he would start feeling above the law. No one would be able to talk to him anyhow again without receiving a slap and hearing "Do you know who I am?" What about our soldiers. How many of those young boys joined to serve? That is why they get scared shitless when dirt hit them. They didn't subscribe to getting hounded to death by Boko Haram. Their ambition had been to wear the uniform and terrorize unarmed civilians. I even heard from someone that Peace Corps members (who had not even got approval) had begun to exhibit high-handedness towards civilians ![]() Some people are ordinary clerks but they would tear a gateman to pieces if he dares exhibits the slightest form of rudeness (even if unintentional) toward them. It is a huge problem. Where does one start? |
Ladyhippolyta88:You are not being truthful. ![]() We are talking about lawlessness here, not level of civility. How can you not find it alarming that thugs could easily invade a court precinct and beat up a judge? That is stranger than DSS disrupting court proceedings. We can understand that DSS can become so powerful like any intelligence gathering unit of any country. They can become so power-drunk and become overzealous. But what sort of confidence would make a thug invade a court precinct and beat up a judge? That is stranger. Nothing beats that. |
Andy Ruiz weighed in 283 yesterday while Joshua has slimmed down. I was telling someone here sometime ago that Andy Ruiz should start camp early. How can Andy Ruiz add an extra 23 pounds for heaven's sake? How will he beat Joshua with all that fat? SMH.... My prediction : A Joshua KO about the 6th or 7th. Ruiz is not serious at all. And if Joshua misses this opportunity, then he should never box again. |
Ladyhippolyta88:You don't understand. I mentioned Fayose to buttress the point you made earlier about the country being lawless. Which is stranger? Thugs beating up a judge on a court premises or law enforcement agencies disrupting court rulings? Try as you may, you can't make an excuse for Fayose and thugs invading court premises. If thugs could invade court premises, what makes it strange that DSS did same? |
Ladyhippolyta88:Fayose was a governor-elect (not a governor yet) when he led thugs to beat up a High Court judge right on the premises of a courtroom. So, it can happen. As for arguing in court, it is not black and white. The DSS felt they had enough reason to hold Sowore, the court disagreed. No further argument would have been enough to convince the court to see the matter differently. Sowore was released, but was rearrested on fresh charges. I condemn the fact that the court was desecrated, but that is nothing new in Nigeria. |
Ladyhippolyta88:He is not doing badly in my opinion. I don't support the zealousness of the DSS, but we can't tell yet whether it is the DSS carrying out these acts independently. DSS is after all an intelligence gathering unit, and if they feel Sowore is a security risk, it is their job to keep him under close watch, even if it means holding him indefinitely. The problem with Buhari is that he is too quiet, and this allows him to be a suspect in many atrocities carried out by our law enforcement agencies, especially DSS and EFCC. He needs to communicate more so people can be aware of his position on issues like this. His continual silence makes it appear like he supports all these things or that he is specifically after Sowore. Another problem I have with him (which was the same problem I had with GEJ) is what appears to be a lack of plan. For instance, we have witnessed economic growth in abandoned sectors such as mining. And in spite of tax holidays in that sector, majority of Nigerians can't still invest much here. Why? Because the government didn't do what they should have done before declaring tax holidays. They should have created far more jobs than they did this year. 5000 jobs in every law enforcement agencies still leaves a lot of gap. With more jobs, more people would have the wherewithal to avail themselves of tax holidays. Then, there is the issue of the border closure. I understand that this is a long-term investment towards making us self-sufficient. But is this the right time? The economy is in a slow recovery state with growth rates never surpassing 1% at a time, and yet you want Nigerians to survive with high cost of food items grown locally? What they should have done is improve the economy to a state where unemployment rate is very low. Then, we can make the sacrifice towards attaining self-sufficiency in food. Closing borders now is like punishing Nigerians. At least, that is how many of them see it. |
It was the boy's time to die. Because I don't understand why you would slap a policeman. It doesn't happen anywhere in the world for you to raise your hand against a police officer on duty. If a policeman slaps you for no reason, do everything else you can, but never hit a policeman on duty, especially one with a gun. It is not bravery, it is foolishness. |
Gerald454:So, he should have supported GEJ who failed woefully even with a team of world class economists? The 2015 election was between GEJ and Buhari. And if you looked at it well, you would know that anyone with sense would have chosen Buhari. In 2015, we were in that period of our lives where we needed a strong leader to stem the level of corruption ravaging the country. The Economist itself accused the GEJ administration of having no will to save or fight corruption. Buhari came with the corruption mantra. His antecedents spoke for him. A no-nonsense man who was not afraid to step on toes and get things right. If we had let GEJ continue, I am sure we would never have survived the recession. |
Neatb:I don't understand you people o. So, because someone supported something, he must not complain if that thing goes bad? Many of you need to go and read more on democracy. Because you obviously know nothing about what democracy entails. |
Sprumbaba:Hope you know that travel bans can hurt the economy of countries issuing it? America is an immigrant country, and with the travel bans flying here and there, Trump will know better than to go down that route with Nigeria. And all in all, I don't suppose Trump cares so much about a Sowore in the West African country called Nigeria. He is more concerned about issuing travel bans to Muslims because he considers them security risks. |
Ladyhippolyta88:I understand you, my Queen. Nigeria is indeed a lawless country, but it is not just about the leaders. The average Nigerian is lawless as well. It would take a lot of effort from family and society to turn the country around. Our problem is not merely leadership. It is systemic as well. Corruption is so ingrained in our society that even some children already know how to make money from scamming people on the internet. Do you know that when I was writing Common Entrance, there were parents who actually bribed invigilators to bring in answers on toilet rolls for their children? Can you imagine? Children of 8,9,10 already learning how to cheat, and aided by parents who are meant to be raising them the right way for the benefit of society. So, this problem can't just go away like that. I tell people that even if they bring all the past American presidents to Nigeria, they cannot turn the country around until we (citizens of Nigeria) start changing our mentality and outlook about life. |
mistyebby:I checked again and saw that you were actually the person that attempted to bring tribalism into the issue. You must feel like you are not sitting on the fence when in actual fact, you have got no love for Sowore. All you are doing is just using Sowore as an excuse to get at Buhari. I know sincere people when I see them. You are not sincere. |
mistyebby:Read that post of mine that you first quoted. That post was a response to someone who was trying to bring tribe into the narrative. That post was directed at attacking every effort to bring tribalism into an issue of national interest. As for DSS and Sowore, I have not supported the captor. Perhaps, you need to read more than you respond. |
Ladyhippolyta88:No, my Queen, I don't merely defend Buhari for the fun of it. I just like to set records straight so that this hatred would be justified. Many people don't even know why they hate Buhari. This type of hate is dangerous. |
mistyebby:So, what else should Soyinka do? Beat up DSS officers or raise up an army of youths to oust Buhari? He is a writer, and the pen is what writers use majorly to fight. He has participated in a lot of long walks in protest against draconian rules. He is an old man now, so he is limited, but has not stopped using his pen to fight injustice. The Soyinka that held a radio station down and prevented them from reading propaganda from Abacha is now old. He can't do all those things anymore. The youth should take over. |
scribble:Can you tell me what Buhari did to you for you to hate him this much? I know it is not about Sowore because the average Nigerian does not care that much about his neighbor. Even in the churches and mosques, it is every man for himself. How many people pray for their neighbors when they are in church? When last did you pray for your country? It is always about "me, me, me and my family. Father bless me, I will give you all my tithes." So, please tell me, what did Buhari do to you? |
globalresource:Are you sure the economy was robust or should I remind you with some articles or interviews granted between 1999-2007? Perhaps, you are confusing the implementation of the telecommunication sector privatization with robust economy. |
scribble:How can someone be wicked and dull? You people are too confused. You should be selling clothes, not participating in political talks. |
gensteejay:For every exception you make during GEJ's time, there are in Buhari's time. The likes of FFK and Fayose have done worse than Sowore, including making personal and outrageous attacks on Buhari, are they facing any harassment? Yet under GEJ, Amaechi, Tambuwal and many others faced harassments for conflicting with Patience Jonathan and her husband. Amaechi, a sitting governor, was blatantly harassed by a common CP. During the Osun election in 2014, DSS filled up Osun state and during the PDP rally in Osogbo, insults were hurled at Aregbesola but there was virtually nothing the governor could do because of the fear of DSS. Don't also forget how DSS arrested Lai Mohammed on the pretence that he was trying to buy votes. They didn't allow the certifying of Oshiomole's helicopter and they barred Tinubu from leaving Ekiti after the elections which Fayose used the DSS and military to rig. The truth is, there is no Nigerian leader (past or present) who is a saint. As a matter of fact, no human being is a saint. |
Abubaushe:Don't mind those hypocrites. Ordinary car hijack, you will see their police all over the road chasing just one car with one merry driver in it. Then, when they catch him, they would slam him to the ground. Now, imagine someone saying he is planning a revolution and then frollicking with an outlawed American secessionist. Just imagine what they will do that person when they lay their hands on him. |
There is nothing the United States can do other than sanction us. And I believe that they have a lot on their table to bother about Sowore. |
globalresource:How can you prefer Atiku to Buhari when you have not tested Atiku? |
globalresource:That is not the issue. The issue is that we all need to be sincere for this country to move forward. If you didn't condemn the tyranny of Fayose simply because you support PDP and then you condemn the tyranny of Buhari simply because you hate APC, then you are being insincere. And this is what is killing the country. We are selective in our judgment of our leaders. Recently, Makinde gave his wife an appointment. The people who have been accusing Buhari of nepotism suddenly didn't see anything wrong in Makinde giving his wife an appointment. Supposing it was Buhari that gave Aisha an appointment in his government, all hell would have been let loose. In summary, if you didn't condemn tyranny under PDP, you have no moral rights to condemn it under APC because it would mean that you are being dishonest. |
olril17:Show me where I wrote that Fayose slapped the judge? I wrote that Fayose beat up a judge. The news was on Channels TV, and one of the confidant of the judge said the judge told him that Fayose supervised the beating. Of course, it would be propaganda to you. |

. He has failed to tealise a KO is just one of many strategies to win in boxing. Hope he plays wise next time.
