He is right. They are still legally married. But I would advise that he picks his fights wisely. There was no need replying to the comment about Tiwa being his baby mama. |
starz100:You people and your short memory. Read this please: The highest level violence during the 2003 elections was in the south and the southeast, where PDP governors and their supporters universally succeeded in resisting opposition bids for office. These were also the areas where the greatest rigging and fraud were recorded by independent electoral observers. In these areas, the direct link between violence and election fraud was clear. More than three quarters of the incidents of “violence, intimidation, harassment, ballot box stealing and stuffing and vote buying” reported by TMG election observers were recorded in the south and the southeast; however, they also reported violence and disruption in other areas, including in western, central and northern states. https://www.hrw.org/reports/2004/nigeria0604/2.htm |
Wiseandtrue:They are animals, and they will get their rewards soon. |
SalamRushdie:Very insensitive comment as usual. This is not about political party, but animals who claim to be human beings. Yahaya Bello won. What was the need to kill someone as part of celebration? APC won in Osun. Was anyone burnt alive? Buhari won early this year, did APC members burn any PDP member in celebration? This dastardly act must be stopped and the perpetrators brought to book. |
bayelsaowei:Hope you know that a friendly is different from a competitive game? And that a player, no matter how good, always has a bad day. At the last world cup, Ronaldo scored a hattrick against Spain while Messi could not get even a goal against Iceland (a lowly ranked team compared to Spain). |
PrecisionFx:You are very ignorant. How many bestsellers are great authors? Is Dan Brown regarded as a great author simply because he is a bestseller? Chinua Achebe is way below Wole Soyinka. Read this: Such pointed dissents from multiculturalist orthodoxy may explain the strange fact that although Soyinka is, by most accounts, a better and more interesting writer than Achebe, he is not nearly so well known. His marvelous plays are rarely assigned in Western classrooms. https://www.claremont.org/crb/article/up-from-colonialism/ Wole Soyinka is by many accounts a better and more interesting writer than Achebe but was not as well known. The very same reason that Toni Morrison is way better than JK Rowling but not as well known. It is also the very reason why Dan Brown with all his grammatical blunders and historical and scientific inaccuracies is more well known than William Golding or Ernest Hemingway. Book sales has nothing to do with how good you are. Even Oyakhilome's Rhapsody of Realities sells more copies than Things Fall Apart. Does that make Oyakhilome a better author than Achebe? You can see how flawed your argument is ![]() |
abelswife:What nonsensical curse is this? You are sympathizing with Ms Ajai-Lycett and at the same time wishing for more women to be raped at 65. Why not curse them directly rather than dragging their mothers into? We should always be conscious of the sort of curses/prayers we make. |
PrecisionFx:Ignorance!!! Soyinka favored African traditions over Western traditions in many of his plays such as Lion and the Jewel where Baroka (representing African values) defeated Lakunle (representing Western values). Soyinka refused to adopt Western religions. None of his children bear Western names. Many of his works embody the Yoruba culture. For example, his work Death and the King's Horseman focuses on honorable suicide prevalent in pre and colonial era. Soyinka has called out Christian many times and proudly calls Ogun (the Yoruba god of war) his patron saint. Many of his works feature the power of Ogun. For instance, in his The Interpreters he ropes the pantheon of Yorubaland into his work. Soyinka is too deep, too philosophical. A bulk of his works are not for average readers. However, Achebe is more the Western puppet. His Things Fall Apart shows Africans to be wild, animalistic, and inferior to the whites. In the end, the embodiment of African values (Okonkwo) loses while Christianity and the white missionaries win. Things like this don't happen in Soyinka's works because Soyinka focuses more on the strengths of the African values. Achebe is very lucky to have written Things Fall Apart at the time he did. The whites like the book because it doesn't paint them in bad light. Rather, it paints them as saviors of the animalistic and brutal African race. The whites stopped the brutal and animalistic African warrior (Okonkwo), destroyed our culture (which Achebe painted as devilish and backward) and installed Christianity (which Achebe described as beautiful and great). If at all, Achebe is the Western puppet. He didn't win the Nobel prize because he was not good enough. He is not on the same intellectual level as Soyinka. He is far below Soyinka. And for a parting shot: Toni Morrison wrote against racism, and so did Nadine Gordimer. Why then did they still win the Nobel prize for writing against racism which the Whites instituted? Know this today: the Nobel prize committee is not a party of average readers. They don't give awards to mainstream novels. Mainstream novels are always popular because they are always in simple English with simple plots that any idiot can understand. A bulk of Soyinka's books are hard to get into hence the reason why he is not popular. His books sound foreign and thus do not fall into the stereotype of what an African book should read like. |
Know when to stop. Don't push yourself to the limit. No matter what you do in life, pay attention to your heart. Whether you are jogging, walking, running, playing football or even having sex. These activities can kill you if you refuse to pay attention to your heart. Foe of Cameroon was clearly tired. His coach realized this and wanted to take him out of the game. But Foe said no. He carried on and couldn't finish the game. He died. How do you pay attention to your heart? When your heart rate is extremely higher than you have ever known it, and you start feeling light headed, it is time to quit whatever you are doing and take some rest. |
Astark:When they say international records, you don't count age-grade competitions. And as for the world cup best player, we all know that Messi was not deserving of that award. I wonder why they gave him that award. Even the then FIFA president, Blatter, himself admitted that he was surprised that Messi got the award. |
lastmessenger:I don't know what you hope to achieve by these questions. Even the police who are empowered by the law of the land sometimes carry out unconstitutional acts for which they can be sued. When Sharia was instituted, it was clearly stated that it would address Muslims, and not non-Muslims. Breaking beer bottles of Muslims is within their limits as a police executing Sharia laws, but breaking beer bottles of non-Muslims is going outside their jurisdictions. And they can be sued for it. Rather than use the acts of Hisbah as a reference, why not use the constitution of the country which empowers a governor who then empowers Hisbah? |
lastmessenger:Sharia law does not apply to every indigene of Zamfara and Kano states. It only applies to Muslims. As to why Hisbah destroy beer bottles indiscriminately, the question you should ask is: "Is their act constitutional?" If it is unconstitutional, then how can the unconstitutional act of Hisbah (an agency of a state government) be the law? A section of our constitution (the ultimate law) states that no state would adopt an official religion. This means Nigeria is a secular state, and every state within it is secular as well. |
veraponpo:Define what a club is? Are all clubs the same, and do they play jamz all night in a club? |
Hedonini:Obasanjo has been described as power drunk and a bully who would get you into trouble to punish you for insubordination. His fight with Atiku exposed the type of man he is. Atiku was a saint to Obasanjo until the man refused to support Obasanjo's third term agenda. And there was nothing he did not do to punish Atiku. Imagine for a minute that Atiku fully supported Obasanjo's third term agenda. It would mean that Obasanjo would be glad to cover up Atiku's corruption. People like Femi Fani Kayode benefited from Obasanjo's third term agenda bribe, and Obasanjo never allowed shameless sycophants like Femi Fani Kayode to suffer any problems. |
Gunayo:What difference would it have made to you if the money was approved on June? Be sincere. Do you suppose that election rigging cannot be set into motion from June or even January of this year? This money has been applied for since the 8th Senate. Do you even know the meaning of promissory note? You think it is a bailout fund that can be embezzled easily without repercussions? You all scream Buhari is clueless, but many of you are the ones actually clueless. |
lastmessenger:There is only one constitution. The Nigerian constitution. Nothing like Kano or Zamfara constitutions. As for Sharia, a Muslim-dominated military rule was the cause for the recognition of Sharia court of Appeal, and its inclusion in our constitution. So, it is not even a civilian thing. And as you know, amending the constitution is not an easy thing. The constitution also allows for the establishment of regional Sharia courts which was why Zamfara enjoyed the privilege of instituting Sharia as above a mere equivalent of customary court. The constitution of Nigeria states that there are no official religion, and that Nigeria is a secular state. That is enough for anyone with some form of education. |
SyrusdeHansome:First of all, it was not Buhari that approved the 10 billion naira promissory note. It was the Senate. So, get your facts right. Second, the promissory note was not accidental. 25 states applied for the money right from the time of the last Senate under Bukola Saraki. 24 states got the money, but Kogi did not get. In October, this year, Buhari reminded the Senate under Lawan, and the request was finally granted. As for supporting a governor who cannot pay salaries, this has nothing to do with integrity. Buhari himself has wondered how governors who can't pay salaries feel. He had wanted the promissory note especially for Kogi which the last Senate frustrated. Buhari will never encourage billions to be spent on rigging elections, not especially in a state where salaries are owed. |
lastmessenger:Being a Christian state has nothing to do with population. One characteristic of a Christian state is Christianity being an official religion. There is no state in Nigeria where Christianity or Islam is an official religion. |
Tot, here is my favorite subject. How about you? Do you like mathematics? |
It is FUTA on the beat this season. |
Bestbeelieve:There is no magic in play here. Just genetics and lifestyle. Doctors are not magicians (except in the case of cosmetic surgery). They can only advise you. It would be left to you to decide to take their advice. Perhaps, Buhari takes advice and the Queen does not. If a doctor says don't eat this, and you eat it behind the doctor's back. Whose fault is it if your health deteriorates? Moreover, on the average, white people age faster than blacks because they have thin dermis which allows their skin wrinkle earlier than blacks who have thicker dermis. |
ornicus: ![]() You mentioned Mike Tyson and used him to describe boxing as lacking discipline and restrain. And I mentioned martial artists who had also fallen short. You must have short memory if you have forgotten so soon that you were the one who first used the shortcomings of a person (Mike Tyson) to paint a sport (boxing) in bad light. |
ornicus:Another emotional outburst ![]() First of all, I never called for leniency. I support expulsion and possible jail terms or option of a fine for assault. But that is enough as they commensurate with the crime the students committed. There should be fairness in judgment. Killing someone for stealing Maggis is a bad justice because it is unfair. Second, you are very quick to call these people psychotic bullies when no one has even diagnosed them with psychosis yet nor do they have records of bullying that you know about. And supposing they are even psychotic bullies, are you telling me that even psychotic bullies can't be reformed or helped through cognitive therapies? You can get all personal and call me names, you can even call me a bully, I understand the ways of emotional people too well ![]() But I will stick to my argument that your suggestion is too harsh and does not commensurate with their crimes. You say boxers don't have restraints and discipline, do I have to make a list of mixed martial artists who were worse? From Anthony Johnson getting violent with women to Charles Bennet raping women and getting one of his victims pregnant to Julian Wallace beating up his girlfriend over mere noodles (such level of restrain ) And there was M. Falcao groping women in public. And yes, Harold Howard who ran a self-defense school (the type your son and daughter attend) but who also enjoyed breaking into homes. The list is endless. |
For those who bet, before betting on Nigeria to win, consider these points and be cautious: 1. It is hard to beat Lesotho at home because they use a synthetic pitch (an artificial pitch). The players are used to it but many players of other countries are not. It is one reason why it is also hard to beat Comoros at home. 2. Many of our players are not used to artificial pitches. 3. Since it would be almost impossible for Lesotho to beat Nigeria, the match is likely to end in a draw. My Prediction Nigeria Win or Draw in Lesotho. BTTS: No Correct Score: 0-0 |
ornicus:You sound like an emotional person, and excessively emotional people are prone to violence. First of all, I have condemned the act of the students, and I strongly believe that they are deserving of expulsion because it is against the policies of every sane society to resort to barbarism such as this. However, I belong to the school of thought that believes that it is better to prevent crime than to punish it. You want them stopped from pursuing higher education. When they turn to other means of getting whatever they had felt formal education would have given them, and they turn into armed robbers and a menace to the society, it is still people like you who would cry foul. These students did a terrible thing, but it doesn't mean we should deny them chances of higher education. That was the problem I had with your post. If you hate violence so much that you would rather that these kids be denied the opportunity of further education, then one would expect you to be a meek man who detests violence even as a form of self-defense. In summary, the students should be punished so that they can be informed of the gravity of their crime caused by their immaturity and stupidity. But, after punishment, there should be forgiveness. Let us say while your son was counteracting force with force and someone died in his hand, do you think the law would think otherwise about sending him to prison? Even rape victims go to jail for manslaughter. |
Monday60655:Then your criticism is not well thought of. Anyone who read your comment would think democracy died with APC when in fact we have never enjoyed democracy. The idea that our votes don't count began as way back as the time of Shagari in the 1980s after he massively rigged himself back into government. |
ornicus:Self-defense is defined as the right to prevent suffering force or violence through the use of a sufficient level of counteracting force or violence. https://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-law-basics/self-defense-overview.html From that definition, I bet you can see my point. You talked so proudly about your son kicking asses but seemed so disgusted by the violence shown in the video in the OP to the extent that you would rather not give these misguided children another chance at redeeming themselves. You mentioned maturity and discipline as if they are opposites of violence. |
FrLukas:You don't need to go to all schools now. What is the essence of education if it revolves around only one subject or only the school you attended![]() No school allows fighting on campus. Even BBN which is not a school disqualified Tacha for fighting. So, it is a normal stuff. |
ornicus:But technically, your son is violent too now, and you are training your daughter to be violent. I have some years of amateur boxing experience, and even though boxing is a sport, it doesn't remove the fact that it is a violent sport. Rather than call them miscreants, you can talk about reforming them through sublimation. Even Anthony Joshua was a bully but his aggression was sublimated into an acceptable act of violence. Today, Joshua is the most marketable fighter in the world. |
FrLukas:It is in all schools. No fighting on campus. |
ornicus:They are misguided children. Why would you want no further education for them? They can be reformed and even end up being better citizens than you. |
