computergeek:It is called reaction formation. Many of these homophobes use this defense mechanism to suppress the guilt they bear from being gay. They internalize the behaviors of those who detest gay people, and feel alright. I have already identified some of them on this thread. They are supposed to hate gay people, but they don't shy away from being generous in their referral to gay sex. |
Stillthebest:He acts all these role exactly the same way. His facial expressions are always flat and predictable, his movements, his use of space (he doesn't use much space, he doesn't even look like he knows how to use space which is why he likes the role of king where he would sit 99% of the acting time). I don't hate the man. I just stated the truth. Mr Edochie in real life is the same Mr Edochie as a policeman, priest, prisoner, dictator, ritualists, etc. That is not acting. That is more like cramming. You cram the script and come in to pour out the role of policeman as Mr Edochie. You are supposed to act Constable Wale, but we see 100% Mr Edochie reading Constable Wale's lines. |
I have always said it that the man can't act. He is revered in Nigeria does not mean he can act. How many Nigerian actors can even act to start with. Edochie acts policeman, chief, priest, prisoner the same way. His expressions are always the same, he sits most of the time and stares into space while talking. Truth be told, the Nigerian audience make these actors lazy. Edochie is so revered here in Nigeria that he does not know how bad his acting is. New Nollywood directors would only send a script to him out of politeness. Those who know about acting will never want him to feature in their movies. His son, however poor himself, is a far better actor than Edochie. |
majamajic:So, how did you know the friendly was not grade A? Moreover, the Argentina that beat us 3-1 under Siasia was star-studded. |
Truthbites:Why? I have noticed that some Nigerians ignorantly refer to small crocodiles as alligators. To them, alligators are far smaller than crocs. Adult alligators and crocs. can be almost indistinguishable to a lay person. And for your information, there are no alligators in Africa. We only have crocodiles. |
majamajic:But how would you know who Brazil would send? Were you one of those who attested to the agreement? |
majamajic:What do you mean by a first grade friendly? How can you tell it was not a first grade friendly? |
majamajic:We played Argentina twice under Siasia. We won the first 4-1. Messi did not feature. We lost the second 3-1. Argentina came with all their stars of that time, including Messi and Angel di Maria. |
majamajic:We would have played Brazil in 2012 but the match was called off. Stephen Keshi was coach back then. Samson Siasia was coach when we played a star-studded Argentine team. Any coach can demand a team. It is now left for the NFF to reach out to the football association of the country of interest. |
Guimaraes win or draw against Arsenal. BTTS: Yes. |
majamajic:First of all, it is NFF that organizes friendlies, not Rohr. Second, the number of players trooping into the Super Eagles are not Rohr's work alone. We have a technical team selected by NFF which keeps tabs on development, including on player overall ratings. Some of these players have already debuted for or have been invited even before Rohr came onboard. We have always had them. Someone like Troost Ekong was first invited by Stephen Keshi. I think Leon Balogun was also first invited by Keshi. |
majamajic:Gernot Rohr banks on luck. He plays tactless, directionless football. He is not a good coach. Even NFF knew it, and tried to send the man on a refresher course. |
Chimezirim121:Stop spewing nonsense. With all your Igbo nonsense, we have never won the U-20 world cup or the world cup. Before the 2013 U-17 world cup, we used age-cheats to win three U-17 world cups. Tell me, what difference has having more Igbos in the team done for our overall achievements as a footballing nation? Our most prolific goalscorer remains a Yoruba man, Rashidi Yekini. He is also the first Nigerian to be crowned African Best Player. He was also the first Nigerian to score in the World Cup. The first Nigerian footballer to be shortlisted for Africa's best player award was a Yoruba man, Segun Odegbami. Odegbemi was also the first Nigerian player to win the golden boot in any footballing competition (1980). Ahmed Musa is Nigeria's highest goalscorer in our world cup history. He is not an Igbo man. With all your Igbo nonsense, Amuneke was the only Igbo who scored in the 1994 world cup team. This is not meant to downgrade the Igbo's contribution to our football. Just to let you know that a right team selection is the best, not necessarily a team full of Igbos. Because a team full of Igbos has never won us even an U-20 world cup. We should place more emphasis on comprehensive club scouting. I know of a Hausa guy back in 2008 who had the deft touches of Okocha. He was lanky, but could last on the pitch, dribbling, throwing passes, and all. We used to call him Mai Mai to mimick Jay Jay. Where is that guy today. He has probably forgotten football and gone to farming or cattle business. Generally, Hausas don't really play football. But once in a while, you find one or two potential stars in their clubsides who our coaches would then ignore until the boy abandons football and joins the family business. This is not about tribe. If the Igbos are ordinarily so good, we would have won more than we have won. But there is really no difference. |
majamajic:Why? Is Gernot Rohr better than him? |
OTayobami:Don't mind those tribalists. This particular Eaglets squad has given us a lot to think and talk about. Yet, people are choosing to talk about tribalism. According to them, if players had been picked from a section of the country, things wouldn't have turned out like this. Very pathetic mentality. If tribalism keeps stopping us from discussing salient issues, we will never get anywhere with this country. |
majamajic:The man does not feel he has arrived. He was humbled as a Flying Eagles coach. He had to be demoted to handling the Golden Eaglets again. I doubt if he felt he had arrived. Maybe, when he eventually gets the chance to coach a senior team, he would feel that way. This team was obviously forced on him. But unlike his Oyinbo counterparts, he could not afford to let go of his job. |
LZAA:That squad does not even look like one Nigeria. The scouts were obviously influenced by money. |
majamajic:If we looked at stats, I think NFF should be blamed. This same Manu coached the team of 2013 to glory. Too much interferences. That was why the Super Falcons' coach resigned. Too much unnecessary interferences. Manu does not appear happy with the team he had to coach. But how many jobs are there in the country? The man just has to hold on to the job and try to do his best. |
3500 mAh battery I won't buy this phone even for 10 naira. |
shogsman:Say only what you know. Many Bollywood movies are dubbed in English, and many have subtitles. |
shogsman:Every movie industry looks up to Hollywood. Even the much improved Bollywood have actors who aspire to be in Hollywood. How many of our filmmakers know anything about movies? How many Nigerians even know anything about movies aside going to/or buying to watch? How many of our notable cinematographers trained here in Nigeria? Even the cinematographer behind this Lionheart did not train in Nigeria. This is not a matter of inferiority complex. We may invest some day and raise the standard of our film industry. But for now, we are still far behind. We can't even organize the Headies properly. |
veraponpo:God bless you. Standard of education is what needs to be raised. Imagine throwing away 170 million naira on past questions, and some people here are applauding him. I didn't even use past questions to pass my WAEC. We had dedicated teachers, and we put in our hearts to the lessons. |
IceColdVeins:You people talk as if Ajimobi was so bad. In my opinion, Seyi Makinde is nothing but a smooth talker. He would end up doing nothing tangible. |
majamajic:I didn't write main I wrote first The people who forwarded the movie for appraisal cannot tell me that they did not read the guidelines before submitting. |
Innovate07:That a Yoruba man cannot speak Yoruba is not anyone's fault. It does not change the fact that English is a second language in Nigeria. It is our official language, but not our first language. There are only four countries (independent countries) where English is a first language: There are four nations where English is the de facto language and the primary language. These include Australia , New Zealand, the United Kingdom , and the United States. http://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/english-speaking-countries/ |
majamajic:English is not our first language. It is actually our second language. Your first language is your native language. I am Yoruba so Yoruba is my first language. There are foreign countries where English is a first language, but many developing countries have their native languages. Lionheart was not eligible in the first place. The award did not say English should not be used, but that the native language should be predominant. In the case of Lionheart, English was predominant. |
Shehu ended up saying nothing in regards to why the movie was disqualified. Just playing the victim's card as usual. |
Jerrite:He obviously does not have any proofs. If he had, he would never have been expelled. Afrika and many other SU leaders in the 80s and 90s did far more than this guy, although with much more wisdom and experience. Afrika and others even accused a whole VC of providing support to cultists. They did not just accuse the VC as this particular guy did. They provided evidences of times when bad elements were expelled only to be reinstated through the backdoor and frolicking with Omole (the then VC). If this guy had any evidence, the school would not have dared expel him just like that. He has no evidence. He should have stuck to running commentaries on issues that every student, present and past, could easily corroborate. For instance, more than 5 people that I know have also talked about the transportation issue and the police harassment. These are the issues he should have chased. He should have learnt how the likes of Soyinka did it during their own time. |
Xisnin:Be humble. You can't learn by being arrogant. The student did not merely accuse the management of incompetence, he accused them of misappropriating funds, and licking asses for political appointments. Supposing Mr X is the VC of FUNAAB. He budgets 1 million naira every year for ease of transportation, but after five years, the issue remains unresolved. Would you just conclude that Mr X has been misappropriating funds, especially if you have no evidence? What if Mr X has been mismanaging the money, and not misappropriating it? These are things that the law looks at. Incompetence can make you mismanage funds. Mr X may never have even embezzled funds in his life, but his incompetence continues to make him mismanage funds. |
Xisnin:Just let the matter rest. The guy was rude, and deserved what he got. For one thing, he didn't think the letter through. He could not even stay on a point, and he was all over the place. At a point, it appeared like he was calling out the management over misappropriation of funds, then he dabbles into sycophancy of the staff for political posts. Here is one of the many unnecessary parts of his post which had/has no bearing on an open letter that ought to draw attention to the transportation and police harassment plaguing the school: How do you expect a Professor who has received over 50 million dollars in grants from Bill Gates Foundation to be hustling to be a Vice-Chancellor, Dean or Director so he can start siphoning monies? He is busy of course! But right here in Funaab, it is the best thing that can happen to a Professor. He/She would celebrate God’s faithfulness as he/she now has unfettered access to public funds. These are very serious accusations against every professor (even the good ones) of FUNAAB. From the write-up: the bad English, the open insults and the unnecessary grandiose, it is very evident that he is a learner. Even activism is an act that needs to be patiently and thoroughly learnt before practice. Next time, he should make a plan for what he hopes to achieve, and stay on the plan. You want to write an open letter to the VC stating your displeasure with the transportation and police harassment issues. You want to make sure you state only events that can be easily corroborated. |
Gazzy88:And the knowledge they used to make the phones is through what? Did anyone bring knowledge from heaven? We learnt what we know here on Earth either through informal or formal education. |
OloladeWrites:God bless you abundantly. |
