I answered: we call him Holy Father because he is our Holy Father.

Who is it that finds English language difficult now?
Are you in primary 8?

When you teacher ask you, "why do call water a liquid"? And you will reply "we call it liquid because it is our liquid."

Unless you are telling us that his Holiness is not universal and does not pertains to Christian or that it is not supported by the scripture?

Now how can you tell that the person is not worshiping his bed?

okpurukata: And let me also tell you that for blaspheming against the holy Eucharist, you are liable to judgement. Ask many Catholics and non Catholics, the numb of testimonies that have been recorded just by going to pray to Jesus in the sanctuary of the Blessed sacrament. It's amazing. I cannot be able to list all I have personally experienced praying in the sanctuary. God has done great things for me. Healings, pregnancies, financial growth, etc. we Catholics don't go about advertising miracles and testimonies because they are not the major reason we are Christians. We do not need to see like Thomas to believe. We Believe, firmly that Jesus came, died and resurrected all for mankind. His greatest message was LOVE. Every other sign, follows those who believe. I tell you, Jesus is present in the blessed sacrament of the Eucharist. He said This is my Body, and indeed if you believe, my dear, you recieve his body.

For unbelievers like you, since you do not believe, please stop criticizing what you don't know. Better keep quiet over what you don't know than continue to make a fool of your self.
You have a lot to consider before you conclude on those miracles. Think about people in other religion that receive miracles, eg Buddha, Hindu etc. Think of the confirmed fake pastors that does miracle in the name of Jesus.

Think of those who told our Lord Jesus that they cast out demons in his name. What did Jesus tell them? He said, "go away you workers of INIQUITY."

Do not stay where you are as one who is deluded to believe whatever comes your way.

I urge every catholic to first study what it is to worship God in spirit and in truth. Who this God true worshipers worship. Is it the Father as Jesus told us or the trinity God?

After then you now ask your self if bowing of unknown persons, the use of dead body parts in alter are part of true worship.

Bidam: I never called you a dull brain you did.
Paul cited the example of the Macedonian churches, who had given generously, even to the point of self-sacrifice ( 2 cor 8:1-5). The example is powerful; the implications are strong that the Corinthians needed to respond to Paul’s sacrifices by making sacrifices themselves.

you misconstrue my post here..learn to understand me..I said PAUL mission and purpose was to convert the gentile nation and it requires him traveling alot..where was the money coming from..is it his tent making or did he trek to those places where he argued with them on foot?

Acts 9:20 At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.

Acts 13:14 From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch. On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down.

Acts 14:1 At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed.

Acts 18:19 They arrived at Ephesus, where Paul left Priscilla and Aquila. He himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

I never did..you are the one acting as if Christ liberates us from the law so that we can keep more physical blessings for ourselves. That is false — Christ liberates us so that we can be free to serve him more, as loving children and not merely as slaves. He frees us so we can have faith instead of selfishness.
2 Corinthians 8:1-5
New International Version (NIV)
8 And now, brothers and sisters, we
want you to know about the grace
that God has given the Macedonian
churches. 2 In the midst of a very
severe trial, their overflowing joy
and their extreme poverty welled
up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify
that they gave as much as they
were able, and even beyond their
ability. Entirely on their own,4 they
urgently pleaded with us for the
privilege of sharing in this service
to the Lord’s people. 5 And they
exceeded our expectations: They
gave themselves first of all to the
Lord, and then by the will of God
also to us.

The truth will always prevail. These people gave entirely on their own. This is what you and all pastors should teach Christians.

That Paul needed money did not make him to go about telling people that they must pay their tithe. He taught them the importance of giving and the gave sacrificially on the own. Read Hebrew 13:16 and see that this is the kind of giving that pleases God.

Non where taxed or compelled to pay as a MUST a certain percentage of money.

striktlymi: The position you guys hold is even more complicated than the Trinity. You say there is only one God! You come back to say Jesus is a Mighty God while the Father is an Almighty God which makes them two Gods by the way. You also holds that the Father is the one true God. Which would imply that the other Gods are false, including the mighty God. This makes little sense!
I understand you. This what i stand for with frosbel. They should have done well if they had considered 1 and 2 below. If they are not trinitarians and knew that the Father is the God of jesus, Rev 3:12. If they considered that Christ is subject to the Father, 1Cor 15:27-28.

Frosbel: I am sure Jesus was not speaking
with himself when he said :
John 17:3
New International Version (NIV)
3 Now this is eternal life: that they
know you, the only true God, and
Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
2 Simple and plan things to note
here

1. Jesus Christ refers to GOD as the
ONLY True GOD in the Singular.
2. Jesus Christ confirmed that this
ONLY True GOD sent him confirming
this ONLY True GOD's superiority.
Now to the subject of being called
GOD.
Jesus is not the ONLY True GOD but
he is a 'god' , a Mighty god by
virtue of his son-ship to GOD and
remarkable achievement.
'god' in this case wrongly
capitalized to GOD.
There is only ONE True GOD, Jesus
confirmed this and I accept his
verdict not yours

Did you post this just because you can't show me where "one God" includes Christ and the Holyspirit.

1Cor 8:6 is not my sentiment nor emotion. The writer stated that one God is the Father. So show us where one God consists of 3 person from the sacred scripture.

Psalm 50:1

The Angels are also MIGHTY. That does not make them Jesus or the Father.

No he was referring to his God not himself. They called him good but he rejected it and ascribed it to God.

The Term God is a title not a name.
No one is saying that Jesus is not a God.

striktlymi: Good morning Boomark,

You doubt my sincerity because I pointed out that there is no contradiction in the statement you made? I wonder how that translates to one being insincere. You accuse those who believe in the Trinity of lies but you have failed to demonstrated this with facts from Sacred scriptures.
Your sincerity was wanting because you dodged what i clearly wrote that One God is the Father.

Those who believe in the Trinity believe that there is but one God, so there is no dispute here. Now if there is but one God who you believe is the Father, then why is it difficult to believe that Christ is God? He was given the attribute due to only the Father who I know is a 'jealous' God and will share no attribute of his with anyone unless that person has same substance as he.
Empty!!!
I have viewed the argument from Ij's looking glass and it still does not explain the provisions of Sacred scriptures satisfactorily. Refer, to my dialogue with Ij for my responses as regards the above.

Oh you do not see the trick in the question? I guess not everyone has the same level of insight. Similar to some of the questions the Pharisees asked Jesus. Anyways, if you need an answer (which corroborates the one I have given) then see the Gospel of John:

John 3:16
King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If the above does not answer your question, then I will give you a direct answer as soon as you tell us whether the God the Father has more than one begotten son.

Actually I don't understand English. I make use of google translator grin

I guess you are learning fast from Logicboy and ooman.
I keep wondering where you guys get all these your teachings from. Which one be 'Eternal Children' for the matter? Please can you show me where that is in Sacred scriptures? Or is this just your own private interpretation of Sacred scriptures?

Since you are the professor in English, can you tell us what eternal means?
Give me a direct answer. We have nothing to hide that is why we have been giving you direct answers. God has only one begotten Son, Jesus. He calls Him Father. The apostles who were not begotten also call Him Father.

So...
Do we share the same Father with jesus?
Christianity EtcRe: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 8:44pm On Apr 06, 2013
italo: Good teacher, who then is the "Eternal Father" that Isaiah talked about in Isaiah 9:6? Is it "The Father" or "The Son"?
The prophecy is for the Son.

As at the time of the prophecy, the Father IS Father, the Son WOULD BE CALLED Eternal father.

striktlymi: I am used to 'big English'! It does not scare me!

I don't see the contradiction in what you said above. The first said there is one God. The second said there is one God. The first is silent on the number of persons in that one God while the second goes further to reveal that there are three persons in that one God. Where is the contradiction?

We should all be searching for the truth but it seems to me that you have concluded already that one side is telling lies when you have not brought out the lies. If you have concluded, how come you are still searching for the truth?
Am beginning to doubt your sincerity.

1Cor 8:6
But to us there is but one God, the Father. Of whom are all things,...

Did you not understand the english?

Ijawkid quoted this:

Read hebrews 2:11-13
New Living Translation (©2007)
11..So now Jesus and the ones he
makes holy have the same Father.

That is why Jesus is not ashamed
to call them his brothers and
sisters.
12..For he said to God, "I will
proclaim
your name to my brothers and
sisters. I will praise you among
your assembled people."
13..He also said, "I will put my trust
in him," that is, "I and the children
God has given me."

and asked you "do you believe that we and Jesus share the same Father"? Your reply is "this is a tricky question. Jesus is the begotten son of God."

Do you not understand the English in v11? Or has the spirit of delusion already taken over?

Who gave Christ his children? If these are his eternal children(those who will inherit eternal life), is the prophesy not in tune with him being eternal father?
Christianity EtcRe: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 8:18am On Apr 06, 2013
ijawkid: Remember we told you Christ isn't the same as his Father or the almighty because he isn't all-GOOD....remember??.....

Jesus' statement only goes a long way to help you see that he isn't part of a trinity or the same as his Father or equal with him......

Jesus clearly showe d trinitarians that there logic is wrong.......

While Jesus and the rest of us can be good, the Father is the only one who is all-GOOD......got it??......
Let me add.

All Goodness springs from the Father. If you are good today, you got it from the Father. He is GOOD the same way He is LOVE.
Christianity EtcRe: Catholic Christians, How Much Do You Know Your Faith?? by Boomark(m): 7:25am On Apr 06, 2013
Ubenedictus: does that make the son a fake God?
No.

This is like asking Jesus if he is bad when he said no one is good except the Father. Jesus came to take you all back to God and this is how he was doing it.

The divine nature(Godhead) belongs to God and it pleases Him to give its fullness to our lord the Christ. The Father also gives HIS spirit. All things are made in His likeness, both those that are called Gods.

Christ is His express image not the image of the spirit. We are His image not the image of angels. Angels are his image and likeless. ALL belongs and comes from HIM.

This is why Jesus said, the Father is the only true God. Do you still disagree?

striktlymi: Good morning Frosbel,

Is the above meant to assume that there is no mystery in the Christian faith? If this is so, I will be glad if you would reveal to me everything there is to know about God and the angels. Let the following guide your thoughts:

1) Where did God come from?
2) Why does God live forever?
3) Who gave God his powers?
4) If his powers existed as he did, how come he can't lose his powers?
5) When did God create the angels?
6) Are angels all male or female or a mix?

When you are done unraveling the above mysteries I have some further questions for you.

Thank you!
Don't be deceived...by their big English. We are not looking at how to FULLY understand God. We are against the LIES in trinity.

The bible clearly state that there is one God over all and He is the Father, 1Cor 8:6. While trinity lie states that there are 3 persons who are one God, trinity 1:1.

Which one will you go for? The truth which is written or the lie which is call a mystery and now defined as the inability to know God fully.
