EZEIGBO1OFIMO:He is going to realize when he gets to 70 that the God of Oyedepo only enriches Oyedepo |
Sam32:The man wants to make more money. If he was a business man like Dangote I will be impressed. I don't know how he intends to fund the project - maybe partly bank loan and church offerings, but I know members will contribute a huge deal in financing this gigantic building and as well increasing his net worth. Let's not get stupid here, the man is trying to increase his pocket and influence |
Jonwesley:God is not in buildings or churches. God doesn't live there. Technically, he is everywhere. You do not need to convene in one spot and feel holy or pretend to feel holy - that's not spirituality. My only concern is that the churches in Nigeria contribute nothing to the economy of the country. Yet, these churches have huge cash reserves. Members do not gain any benefit rather than mere talk. Spirituality is not about how rich you are in this material plane. Jesus even said it - it will be difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. |
Princeojua:Go Bleep yourself and sink in your deception |
Gayjesus:He want to maintain his Forbes position and surpass others. His members are elated with the news and their logically brain cells have been shut down. They have never sat down to do the math. 100,000 members multiplied by N20 in one seating is N2,000,000 in just one sitting. Nobody gives N20 anymore as offerings except in children Sunday school classes. There will be shopping malls which means this man is out to extract every last kobo from his congregation. At this moment, the government need to form a regulatory body for religious organizations. |
This is not an encouraging news at all. Other pastorpreneurs are watching and strategizing on their next moves. Before we know it, churches would become the next stadiums. I wonder why these fools don't get it |
DIVINE78:Sure he is going to achieve it and you know how, by taxing you and other church goers. Wake up and smell the coffee - your pastor is enriching himself by selling you gimmicks |
teebaxy:Nope God will not do that for you when you continue to give your pastor your money and believe their nonsense |
I support this. However, on the other hand what is a truth commission Metuh? To have people come on national tv and tell us that they stole - that's plain ridiculous. Metuh must realized that there are cost implications on carrying out investigations and the government may be plain stupid to go down previous administrations if it views are to recovered funds that are already sunk |
edgyslim:You are right. A lot of them are shaking in me boots at the moment |
januzaj:I have a reply for you. You cannot hide under religious guise to perpetrate evil. Immediately your religious or private activity begins to disturb your Neighbour, your are menace to the society. |
The source explained that the team was set up to examine all sides to the issue, adding that the presidency is worried that such enormous amounts of money were carted away from CBN as if “it was in Idi Amin’s era.” ^^^^^ that got me cracking, but it's true. Monies were transferred like Nigeria was under military rule. If this publication is true, then it is a welcome development. Emefiele should leave to restore dignity to our financial system. |
Disappointing situation indeed. I am ashamed with this level of absurdity that took place during Jonathan's tenure. Now I can truly correlated these outright theft with poor economical development that was witnessed during Jonathan's tenure and the voodoo economic and statistics Okonjo Iweala was showing us. Presently, I pity Buhari and I do not envy his position. There are lot of people involved in this mess, jailing them would be term political victimization, just like the parrot Olisa Metuh has already proclaimed. Nigerians truly deserve real accountability. Jonathan inevitably sponsored Boko Haram and allowed the group to have unfettered powers. Identifying these theives is just the mere beginning. Recovering the funds is another. I am more interested in recovery the funds and closing down the companies used in laundering these funds. Those companies do not deserve to operate in this country. |
bayinq25:Who are you calling religious leaders? The same business men that shared out of the arms loot for spiritual prayers. Do you think Jonathan visited redeemed without parting with huge cash gifts |
I weep for my country. The VP got to dance, he truly deserve to dance whilst some people are refugees in their own country. |
sweatlana:I am shocked at your comment. You do not accuse people without relying on facts. Are you on her timeline on Twitter? The campaign is still on, meetings are still held. She has also publicly challenged and encouraged the Buhari administration to find the girls and as you can observe the Army is doing its best scanning the entire sambisa forest to bring back this girls if they are still alive. Now, in your own capacity, what have you done for those poor girls? Rather you criticize someone who is pressuring the government to carry out its responsibility. Very well I say this without any form of malice that you are an insensitive and wicked Nigerian and you contribute to the problem in this country. Your thought process is wicked and if you have the privilege to serve the public, I can confirm you would not be different because those who oppose your policies would be seen as enemies. You are a disgrace to civility and human kind. |
aieromon:Obasanjo is very aware of these atrocities. Now I understand why he chose to leave partisan politics. Jonathan deserves to be in prison and his trial should be in full view of the public so that ethnic bigots can see clearly. There is no ethnicity or religious divide at the apex as we can see they share these loots happily |
Sweetguy25:I initially listed out 8 benefits of the obasanjo administration, but thought otherwise because it is childish. Please if you want to know more about the obasanjo administration go and research - Wikipedia should be your first start. I was just like you, ignorant, criticised without facts and I criticized the Obasanjo administration so hard. However, after I decided to research for myself, I had a rethink. Please leave the ignorant zone for your own good. |
studio14:With obasanjo we are insinuating, but Jonathan loots are staring at us right in our face. Obasanjo's tenure brought economic progress, businesses were booming after log hardship from military rule. They were savings, foreign reserve was growing. Young people were securing jobs. Pensioners had reason to smile thanks to the pension reform policy. Jonathan bastardized our democracy. Looted our foreign reserves. Imagine how much we would have saved if he didn't dip his dirty sticking fingers into it. He plunged our country into debt, enriched his friends and cronies. What was good with Jonathan's administration? I need to know - economic wise and international relations wise |
ernesty20:You must be mad for this comment. Truly mad. I have never insulted anybody on nairaland, but you are truly mad. Where is the goodness in a man who allow a section of a country to be in chaos, whilst he shares monies to his friends and cronies. What is wrong with we Nigerians. What is there to adore when a president cannot give accounts to his stewardship |
I respect this woman a lot. If not for her group the chibok girls would mean nothing to we, wicked and selfish Nigerians. It is not easy fighting and pressuring the government to do the right thing, especially when such government only think about how they can make quick cash gains. I have said previously and continue to say it - we are victims of our own circumstances. Our nonchalant attitude is irritating. We adore corrupt politicians and hold them in high pedestal. We admire wrong people and consider them our Heros. Why won't politicians ignore their civic and responsible duties and continue to steal from the treasury. May I remind insensitive Nigerians that this woman can be like us - insensitive to the plight of our nation, ignore the ills of society and live a comfortable life abroad - just like Ngozi is doing right now. She chose to fight in her own way, to fight and put our wicked government in check. We need more people like her and not pastors who still frolicks and dine with corrupt politicians. |
dhantey324:Of course that person is Elizade. Our leaders don't think, they just throw money to problems |
MadCow1:It is called Personal Guarantee. This is different from the Collateral that it given to secure the loan. It gives the lender confidence that the money borrowed will be repaid. The Court has already barricaded Hadley Apartments and the hotel/guest house is under key and lock. Unfortunately, I wondered what he used the borrowed money for? |
They give second-hand stuff to poor widows, but pastor rides a brand new Porsche. Well, mek una continue to dey make una pastor rich. Not my business |
Laughs .... WTF. CBN is thinking. I have always wondered why electronic payments are not used. Now, there will be proper audit trail and violators will be prosecuted. The CBN should also know that our Politicians are the major customers to BDCs and they used BDCs to launder funds. We must reduce our dependency on cash and begin to embrace electronic mode of payment. |
amazingspiderma:Sir, it is better not to comment when you have little knowledge on an issue. Oando and Honeywell, two companies operating in different industries, are not companies that suddenly appeared from thin air a.k.a Shell companies. These are publicly owned companies, trading in the Nigeria Stock Exchange. |
osazeeblue01:Sir, this is a poor comment. What is affecting these people is a global situation and not country specific. Buhari economic plans cannot change the Oil & Gas industry. The industry is just going through phase one of its downtime. There is phase two, which will completely eradicate the industry and make it obsolete. An illustration is what Musical CD plate did to Vinyl and what Online Streaming is doing to CD plate now. This phase two period may not come soon, but it is unavoided. Investors are spending huge money to develop alternative energy because it is cheaper and environmentally friendly. Ever heard of Elon Musk? He is a South African-American Billionaire. The man has dedicated his life in making groundbreaking inventions. His car, Tesla, an electric premium car, won the best car of the year twice in a roll. He is also creating a tube that can get people to their destination in seconds and his passion is alternative energy. |
After reading the publication and comments here, I think it is necessary to cut the crap and avoid people getting this wrong. I have been following the Oil and Gas industry for a while and I can take you that Oando has funding issues. The company made huge investment last year before the drop in Oil prices (poor strategic decision). In order to address this concern, they divested their stake in their Downstream sector (red flag when a company is having financing issues). Recently, the company is proposing a Right Issue to existing shareholders, they are also proposing to divest further and concentrate more on Upstream (a huge financing red flag). Also, the company has a net cash deficit of over N69 billion and made a loss of over N47 billion in its recently released quarterly financial results (September 2015). The Oil & Gas industry is not finding it rosy and this trend will continue. Employees should have seen the signs and begin to plan their exit. Oando must survive and it must trim its cost to address the external pressure it is currently facing. It's huge staff expense has to go down, hence the layoffs. Oando is not the only oil and gas company facing this challenge. The multinationals are also experiencing the same thing. Layoffs are currently ongoing in America. I may sound a bit harsh, but the staff members complaining are unfair. Except they are ignorant of the financial position of their Company. I informed a friend that in 30 years, the Oil and Gas industry may be history because of technology. Consumer preference is shifting towards alternative energy. Vehicles may begin to run on solar or electric power, homeowners and manufacturing companies may decide to use solar power to reduce their huge energy cost. I also advised a Youth Corper to avoid applying for Oil and Gas vacancies. This is not the best time. On the other hand, Banks are going to find it hard next year in view of the stringent economic reform plans a.k.a BUHARINOMICS. However, this sector may bounce back from 2017. Let me conclude by requesting that employees should study the financial statements of their companies. It will educate you and help you plan better. |
Sarang:Guess what - you would be the first to reject him when he comes if he would even come. Please dont look to the sky and expect chariots - that will never happen |
People continue to look for Jesus. If he comes will you recognize him? Would you agree to his teachings? Well, Jesus is done with this world and he ain't coming back. I also wonder why people continue to get hoodwink to a religion that is so old and outdated for our present civilization. |
Gawd. I am lost for words. People are dying in the North east. Why are humans so heartless |
