Politics › Re: DSS Parades Fake Boko Haram Associates Of Stephen Davis [photo] by Boss13: 9:36pm On Dec 16, 2014
Is this supposed to make the news? Sheriff was pinpointed as a sponsor of Boko Haram. He was not arrested and interrogated. It is either he is not a sponsor or the govt is not interested. Now why waste resources, time, money and energy to uncover fake Boko Haram members just to tell us Sheriff and Ihejirika are not sponsors when you can actually channel such resources to uncover the real sponsors. Is this a video game or what?

Now if the DSS is interested in ensuring the public is aware that Sheriff and Ihejirika are not the sponsors then I believe they have gotten their priority wrong and probably the DSS is actually the sponsors via the Federal Government. There are allegations that Sheriff armed Boko Haram members, there are also allegations from the army that commanding officers instruct them to stop chasing fleeing Boko Haram members. There are also allegations of CBN transferring money.

It is strange that for 6 years after the president mentioned that Boko Haram has infiltrated his government, not one person has been identified and arrested. Likewise, not one DSS member has been sacked for not doing their job. Hence it is logical to conclude that the federal government is the chief sponsor of Boko Haram including the DSS.

P.S remember the issues of Boko Haram members who wanted to escape the DSS captivity or probably were released by the DSS

An unpresidential president who has been hoodwinked and sidelined while saboteurs run the affairs of the country. A president who does not understand his job functions and roles. Pays lip service to critical issues and finds it important to party with celebrities, when such role can be delegated.

Little wonder we have 5 presidents in Nigeria

It is unbelievable that some people intend to give Jonathan another chance after all what we have gone through for 6 years. Do I remind people of the unfulfilled promises he made, or the institutionalization of corruption achieved by his administration, or the gross incompetence and wastage perpetrated by ministers and aides, or the missing chibok girls who will not spend the Yuletide with their families or the thousands of lives killed and the millions displaced by boko haram. Finally, for renegading his promise not to contest the 2015 election. I don't believe in this president and I don't trust him.

Jonathan epitomizes a lot of negative things and if a goat contest against the president. I shall vote for that goat.

Never trust a man who does not fulfill his promises or stand by his words.

Christianity Etc › Re: "First-Fruits": Pastors Are Planning A Major Robbery In January by Boss13: 11:04pm On Dec 14, 2014
Reference:
Firstly poster, if you love you will give. The same way you try to impress your girlfriend, your spouse, your parents is the same way you should try and impress the God you claim you love. 'For God so loved the world that He gave....' In fact, you can give without loving but you cannot love without giving.

Secondly, you may ask but God is not in need. True. He is the Author and Creator of all so why are we asked to give. Because God wants us to be partakers of His nature which is love thereby expunging from our system the worldly way of lust and greed. It is a platform of opportunity. It is a theatre of proof that one has escaped the power of satan that desires us to accumulate more and more. All great men of wealth and power in scriptures were tested. Some passed, some didn't.

Thirdly, Cain brought pickings of his huntings and Abel, produce of cultivation because those were the jobs available then. That was the currency of exchange. In the New Testament Peter offered his boat to Jesus as an offering. He was a fisherman. Jesus watched as the poor widow threw coins into collection. She was able to monetise her offerings. No one stops you from bringing whatever you wish unto the Lord but in these days of a unitary system of exchange in commerce and enterprise the easiest (for you the giver and the receiver) way to offer value will be through money. As in tithes it is quantifiable and best represents the produce of whatever effort God has enabled you make at work.

Even if you were a farmer today I doubt if you will take kindly to your boss paying you in catfish, eggs or ugwu leaves.
God does not need your money/cash. IT needs your service. You can throw away your money to your pastor, it won't and doesn't count but the happiness a fellow human gets for making him/her happy goes a long way.
Politics › Re: Reuben Abati: Nigeria’s Most Evil Genius? by Boss13: 10:17pm On Dec 14, 2014
The man Abati continues to shock and surprise me. He is not alone, there is Reno and Okupe. These guys are very dangerous to the general public.

I read where he claimed that Jonathan was made Nigeria the biggest economy in Africa. This news is false. What was actually done was a statistic recalculation even from prior years. Why would abati make such claims.

Reno on the other hand claimed Jonathan is responsible for car production in the country. You look around and you don't see any cars. Do they understand the difference between manufacture and assembling cars. They are taking credit for innoson motors and that man has been assembling cars long before Jonathan became president.

These men are dangerous

I don't agree with you on reasons apc refuse to give fash a chance, they simply just want to return power to the north, its visible to all, though I don't have a problem with that as a president can come from anywhere, why must it be a buhari.

Yes, I agree no politician in this present day Nigeria have the kind of followers and command respect like buhari, but then we need to consider a lot of things, remember sheik gumi, who advise both jonathan and buhari to forget presidency, the man was right?

Jonathan can't solve the BH problem. This is a known fact, only a northerner most likely buhari can do this.

again, should buhari win, expect Niger Delta militants back in the creek, expect the SE to start singing biafra. I think this should be american calculations for saying Nigeria won't exist beyond 2015.

Why I can't support buhari, he may have all the integrity and followers, but he is not the best man for the job, he is old, and with the last interview and address in apc convention, you can see the man is clueless just like Jonathan.

If buhari is a true patriot and have the interest of the country, then I see no reason he can't support a younger candidate after attempting three good times, there are lots of alternatives buhari can sacrifice his ambition for.

If buhari anoint a candidate, support the candidate, campaign with him in all 36 state of the federation, I see no reason the same buhari followers can't vote such a candidate.

Buhari presidency is a big NO for me
I like your comment. It has concerns. No leader can know it all. Trust me Buhari doesn't know how he would stir the economy but notwithstanding we need a leader who is firm, who will not tolerate the nonsense we are currently seeing. A leader that would send a message to the rest of the world that Africas most populous country means business.

Jonathan is not a bad man but his presidency serves the purpose of a collective few and that is not what we want anymore.

Obviously the truth is coming out, it is like an earthquake resonating within the earth core.

2015 is Buhari for the taking. If he loses, he should blame no one but himself. Buhari must begin to sell himself, tackle and address issues that even the stauch pdp supporters will secretly admire and support him. Jonathan cannot win this election other than rigging, so Buhari must sell himself that the Jonathanians would see that the cost to rig is so much that they would give up to defeat and retire to their tent.

Buhari must not fail us. Nigeria must be great again.

Politics › 2015: Jonathan Vs Buhari – Our 10 Best Quotes From Both Candidates by Boss13(op): 4:19pm On Dec 12, 2014
Now we have a number one contender with President Goodluck Jonathan and it’s none other than Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who won the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate on Thursday.
Together, the two candidates will go head to head in the 2015 general election.
Buhari first had a shot at the Presidency in 2003 against Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. In 2007, he ran against Umaru Yar’Adua (now late).
His emergence for the fourth time as a presidential candidate was welcomed by the APC national leadership, delegates and aspirants. One of the defeated aspirants, Okorocha, described him after the official announcement of the results, as “the man capable of chasing away Jonathan in 2015.”
Now we bring you our ten best statements from both parties:

Goodluck Jonathan
1. I promise, I will not fail our great nation, Nigeria.
2. These last four years have not always been easy, but through it all, my wife has effortlessly taken care of our home.
3. We initiated Debt Relief, the Amnesty Programme, the Presidential Jobs Creation Board, Power Sector Reforms and the National Infrastructure Master-plan; the Nigerian Industrial Revolution Plan, the National Automobile Policy, the Freedom of Information regime, the Nigerian Mortgage Refinancing Company, and the Infrastructure Bank, amongst others.
4. Has change not come to our railway system?
Has change not come to our airports?
Has change not come to our roads network?
Has change not come to our agricultural sector?
Has change not come to our electoral process?
Has change not come to Almajiri education?
Is change not coming to the power sector?
What we need today is to consolidate on our gains in order to secure our future.
Our focus now must be on the future and not on the past. We have challenges but we are determined to overcome them. And this we will.
5. These last four years, my priority has been in building a strong and stable economy. We have created the enabling environment for businesses to thrive. These are essentials for securing Nigeria’s future.
6. I believe that together as a people and with God on our side, we shall defeat terror and emerge an even stronger nation.
7. Nigeria is not a land of despair. We are a people who show commitment and unity of purpose. Just look at how we stood up to the Ebola Virus Disease. We are a hard-working nation. And we will go from strength to strength.
8. Our best days are before us, not behind us. We must continue to move forward.
9. I will work to secure Nigeria’s future. I will serve with humility and moderation, with simplicity and forthrightness; with openness and inclusiveness, and with firmness and strength. I urge all Nigerians to support me, to finish what we started together.
10. Fellow citizens, what we need, more than anything else, is to secure our country’s future, by building, and not by destroying.

Muhammad Buhari:
1. Christian and Muslim, Southern and Northern, rich and poor, young and old, man and woman. We are all citizens of Nigeria. There is no dividing line among us that I care to honour. Either we advance as one or fail altogether.
2. Preserving the nation’s future is a scared obligation to all of us in this party.
3. We will return Nigeria to a position of international respect through patriotic foreign policy.
4. Shall we at home continue to live in a condition where the Power Holding Company and its successors seem only to have the power to hold us in darkness?
Shall we continue in a situation where 250 of our daughters have been abducted and the government has been unable to rescue them or provide credible information about what steps they are taking?
Shall we live in a nation where several people were trampled to death in search of jobs in a stadium and yet no one has taken responsibility for the tragedy?
Shall we live in a nation where the ranks of the poor swell and their poverty increase while the consorts of the powerful enjoy unprecedented wealth?
The lives of the poor are bled dry while those of the powerful soak in excessive abundance. My answers to these questions are “No, No, No, No!” It is time to close this demeaning chapter in our nation’s history.
4. I ask that you join this effort, not for me, but to establish a better land for all of us. I understand and accept the hard challenge ahead. When all is said and done, let it be written that Muhammadu Buhari gave his all for this nation.
5. We will choose the best Nigerians for the right jobs. Our government will be committed to the cause of the common man.
6. We will strive to attack poverty through broadly-shared economic growth and attacking corruption through impartial application of the law
7. Agriculture remains the backbone of the economy. Our government, when elected, will establish an agricultural policy that provides farmers a dignified living through improved inputs, improved extension services, access to credit and price support mechanisms.
8. We shall institute just policies that afford people the dignity of work and pay them a living wage for their sweat and toil.
9. No longer shall illegal flows of massive sums leave these shores to finance other economies. While our people languish in poverty, we effectively give financial aid to nations that is not justified. I am sick of this. It must stop. The money saved will finance jobs, health care and the provision of social safety net for the needy, weak and vulnerable of our land.10. We will be a compassionate government, for out of compassion arises the truest forms of wealth and progress a society can attain.
