Family › Re: How Do Tell My Parents I No Longer Want To Be Married by breathless(m): 1:08pm On Oct 24, 2010
I guess your homones must be acting up otherwise you would not be thinking of leaving the marriage. This problem can be solved with discretion and patience.
Your man is very frustrated.
I need to tell you the way you wrote I can read behind the lines.
Poor woman, pregnant and having to work to foot the bill. This arouses the sympathy of almost every reader.
However it is very possible that you are rubbing it in and your husband does not have any esteem left, because you make it so obvious that he cannot foot the bills.
It is in the nature of man to be the provider, supporter . Now in the modern day world this role can be taken away from him through this word called unemployment.
This is the time a wife shows her husband even more respect and even more acknowledgement.
Well if you were not talking to him and kept rubbing it in how busy and tired you are.
So maybe you need to work on yourself too. Sadly most women find it almost impossible to give the man his respect, when he is out of a job. If this is the case I can imagine the man even going so far as to think you are hindering his progress, so that you can ride on him.
And another thing you need to bear in mind - pregnancy is not a sickness.
Just the other angle, may not apply in your case.

Poster, there lies ur way out. Best of married life

Poster, your hubby is not acting funny. he`s acting deadly (no offence). I fear for your life really. Grabbing your throat? What manner of man will grab his spouse by the throat in his moment of anger? He`s demonstrating immaturity and failure to take responsibility as a married man. He may also be overwhelmed by the demands of married life. I`d suggest u report 2 d nearest police station should dis happen again. Your life is precious and u have every right to preserve it.

Ok Reverse scenario; lets assume u re d one sleeping wt ur elder brother, having an "offshore romance", and other unthinkable stuffs, do u see dis guy forgivin u? Don`t be deceived, there are ppl who had worse case than urs and still ended happier quitting d r/ship. An older cousin of mine dated a guy for 10yrs dat didn`t end up in marriage. Now she`s in d UK happily married with kids.

These are red flags for u 2 see d direction of ur future wt dis guy. U will be ruined wt dis man n come back 2 dis same forum asking "what do I do?". A word is enuf 4 d wise. I join those asking u to leave. Pick race.

Seek councelling from ur priest(s)/pastor/imam or a mentor. Lastly, go on ur knees and prayer like ur life depends on it for the good Lord to deliver u. Best of luck

Just the way some things mentioned in the course of this tread does not seem to make sense to some respondents, (cos yàll find it hard to believe) so it will be pointless explaining.

Fot those in doubt, try make friends with Glo staff in any unit. Do not ask questions about what you`ve heard aboput the company, but tactically sample their level of satisfaction working there and if they`ll leave at the slightest opportunity even for lesser pay.

Career › Re: Globacom Staff Resignation Mail by breathless(m): 6:14pm On Sep 18, 2010
Pheew huh. See what this resignee`s mail has generated. Na wa o. Trust me, I`ve been priviledged to see more strongly worded and indicting resignation letters/mails/text. Some even indicting the owners of the business and top management yet nothing has changed (its actually getting worse). Like I said, you people will not understand. No amount of explanation will make sense under the circumstances.

A poster mentioned that people brag about meeting targets at interviews. Yes you brag becos you anticipate that the organisation will provide you with the most important tools to work as no company can provide 100% of working tools. That is almost in non-existence there. If you have any, that`s becos you lobby for it in the most unspeakable manner. Those who do not see anything abnormal there are those who are working there as first place of work, those from extreme poverty striken background, boot and arse lickers, back-stabbers, deceivers etc.

Interestingly, a good number of these guys come from structured organisation/background. (Nig. Bottling Co., Promasidor, GSK, Pfizer, B.A.T., UACN, etc) They get attracted by the pay only to discover the real deal.
Anyways, this forum will cannot accomodate Glo gist. If you find yourself there, pls begging to plan your exit.

Odunnu, what are you interested in discussing?
Career › Re: Globacom Staff Resignation Mail by breathless(m): 11:09pm On Sep 17, 2010
Hmmm. Dem say who no go, nor know.  If u dont work there, you will never know wat goes on in there. WARNING. Pls do not envy anyone working there. A careful look at various posts clearly shows an under-estimation of the situation in dat company. We all have different tolerance level. Some high, some low, some moderate.

50-50 did exit but has been modified to 75-25 recently. It was introduced in Aug/Sept 2008 to sales dept. What this means is that (50%) or75% of your salary is guaranteed while the balance is tied to sales performance (This is not stated in your offer letter). And for you to get anything from the balance you must meet at least 60% of your monthly sales target (that is incremental month-on-month irrespective of whether it is met or not) or else forget it.

Trust me, if any of you knew this staff while still in Glo on a personal level, you will include him in your daily prayers for deliverance. I worked and reported directly to the 2nd person he mentioned in the mail. That guy called me close to mid-nite oneday and swore by his koran (he`s moslem) that he will deal with me over a sales transaction that was almost going bad. That`s one place people are called names and insulted in the most dehumanizing manner. You are told to either perform or perish.

It might interest you to know that all staffs are on contract. No staff have an offer letter on Glo`s letterhead. So they are not obliged. For all they care, there are people in worst situations yet they are still there. A colleague bought car on two occassions and had to sell them to settle gbese wey him no cause just to keep his job. Some people work there for different reasons. For some it is the money, for some others it is the prestige, while for ome it is their last bus stop. I`ll pause for now. And incase anybody is wondering, I worked there as a manager in sales on a salary of N6.5m p/a and left for financial services and now run a business and management consulting firm as CEO.
Family › Re: Her Hubby Changed by breathless(m): 10:42am On Sep 16, 2010
My heartfelt sympathy to your friend. I believe there are usually RED flags in a relationship especially during courtship. Most times we are carried away by "Being in Love" and overlook these flags. Better still we deceive ourselves that the person will change when they get married. If there are behaviours, attitudes etc we think we can cope with, then go ahead, if not, quit. All marriages have their flaws and no one remedy works.

I`d suggest she avoids anything she says or does that makes d hubby abuse her. He is obviously not a happy man and the wife may not be responsible for that. (At least he asks for sex, though violently) She should not argue with him anymoreon any issue, no nagging when he comes in late or when he`s going out, put a pack of CD in his wallet and text him to always remember to use it should he find himself in a compromising situation (Heard on radio recently a lady with HIV slept with a married man without protection). She should dress well to kill and try a couple of new "tricks" in bed, get a job if she does not have one, get invovled in some sort of philantropic work, find a sport of interest where she meets people etc. But above, get on her knees and pray ceaselessly and tirelessly for GOD to change her hubby for good becos married men have become endangererd species.

That marriage lacks trust which is key in any marital relationship. As for me, walking out is not necessary. The next woman maybe worse. I simply keep my finances in check, fend for d kids if any and start investing 4 d future.
Family › Re: Can You Disclose Your Salary To Your Spouse? by breathless(m): 6:43am On Aug 30, 2010
"my hubby knows exactly how much l earn. He even knows my ATM pin and l know his. We operate joint and separate accounts. He is into private business, l might not know exactly how much he makes a month but l have idea, as long as he contributes his quota to the joint account and fulfills his obligations at home, no qualms.

Theres no need to hide your earnings. People hide when they feel their spouse will take advantage of it. l think if u have a financial plan for your home, there wont be need for 'financial hide and seek game'"

SAME APPLIES; WELL SAID
