This logos holds always but humans always prove unable to ever understand it, both before hearing it and when they have first heard it. For though all things come to be in accordance with this logos, humans are like the inexperienced when they experience such words and deeds as I set out, distinguishing each in accordance with its nature and saying how it is. But other people fail to notice what they do when awake, just as they forget what they do while asleep. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logos?wprov=sfla1 |

First, thank you for taking the time to carefully consider and responding with rather unusual minimal yadayada. I appreciate both and will maintain conversation until both disappear as they usually do with you. MuttleyLaff: Yes, the sum of it is they got taken advantage of and got played by the serpent, who lied to them that they would not surely die. To die, is to pass away, perish, to relinquish life, to become dead from any cause and in any circumstances. It is the simplest, plainest, and most direct word for this idea, and is used figuratively of anything that has once displayed activity: An example would be 'the Ancient Egyptian civilization has died', as has my very own father. I do not see how any of that happened to Adam and Eve, so perhaps define your "die" or explain the lie the serpent played. MuttleyLaff: The fact is death is a dividing line. That line was drawn the instant when the tree was eaten from and the separation from God with boundaries and/or limits set. So the book says. A line between the living and the dead. And we can confirm this with our own eyes if we'd ever lost anyone to death, which I can't say happened to Adam nor Eve, not till 100s of years after, at least. As to the tree bit. I do not think it was just a tree and what they ate was food and I would question anything that sets "boundaries and/or limits" to anything that can be construed to be knowledge because it just sounds like boko haram to me. MuttleyLaff: You want to mind your language next time Mister. Who does unnecessary yada yada, hmm? Mtcheew. I definitely do not think you have the abilities to be "boundaries and/or limits set" for buda since buda is not your pikin! MuttleyLaff: Now, budaatum, on to your question, obviously, they truly set out to becoming gods, the moment after eating fruit and being driven out of Eden. You're saying they wanted to own their own garden and have other Adams and Eves working for them? MuttleyLaff: They became gods, not exactly be like God, the half lie the serpent earlier told them, but be able to make judgement between what is right and what is wrong, what is good and what is bad etcetera. Begin experiencing pain and pleasure, sweet and sour, success and failure, kindness and cruelty, compassion and indifference, love and hatred, wealth and poverty, knowledge and ignorance, frear and boldness, lies and truth, oppression and freedom, slavery and liberty, beautiful and fugly etcetera Do note that in all that's above, you've said "they died" and "they became gods". Lol. Hell yes they became small gods with their own little garden which was painful to toil but still provided them food to the end of their days and on it were they buried when they did actually surely die! They even went further and out of very severe painful childbearing labor and desire, created Cain and Abel and Seth to labour the land for them. They could not have done any of that if they had remained blind naked ignorant and enslaved within the "boundaries and/or limits set" by that which you call God in the Garden of Eden! |

kkins25: But jesus didn't win. He lost. He was nailed to the cross. In fact, as you know, he was traded for a criminal like i mentioned above. His enemies were willing to skip the book, play dirty nd utilize force. We still face this enemy today and jesus's disciples are dead and gone par a few. Having learned from history, wouldn't it be insanity ie.repeating the same strategy as jesus, to simply providing alternatives when the enemy is not going to play by the book? Billions of people yelling his name says he won. Besides, I do expect you to have evolved from literally letting yourself be nailed to a cross! Replace Jesus with the Logos he is said to have made into flesh and you'd see how even you yourself are in his army winning for It.

I so love the prologue of John which in the bav goes as follows: In the beginning were books written, and from those books did knowledge spring forth so everything could be made. Knowledge eliminates ignorance as light eliminates darkness. With Jesus, is the answer to your question. But you must first put flesh on 'him' separate from that of religion. |

I've looked at the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra but Samsung seem to build bad and fry their chips in dodgy oil, so I looked at the OnePlus 8 Pro and Huawei flagships then thought I might not need a ship at those prices just a pole for my flag.
Anyone got ideas sub £500 please? I'll research. |

How realistic is Sons of Anarchy as far as real motorcycle clubs go?
I had originally intended to remain silent on this question since I became quite offended after reading the comment proposing that if not all the at least the majority of club bikers are basically ignorant, semi-illiterate, uneducated, barely comprehensible drug dealing brutish thugs.
However, since my opinion was requested I will give my viewpoint regarding this question, and my own response to that uniformed opinionated fool.
The organizational and officer structure, determination to defend and control their territory, brotherhood, almost blind dedicated and devoted loyalty to the club, treatment and expectations of probates, and various friendly or antagonistic relations with other clubs, and the patch display of their Kuts are all based on the real club world.
The excessive violence is extremely exaggerated. Although there is at times violence within the real club world, it is nothing like the extent and frequency on the show. Many, if not a very large majority of real club members never see or are ever a part of any biker or club related violence even though they all know that if for some reason anyone does attack another brother or the club itself they are expected to respond with whatever level of violence is required to defend against the attack and to win.
Only an idiot would from the outside assume, or from the inside try to create, the concept that an entire club, with every member being fully involved, would ever exist strictly as a criminal organization like shown on SOA.
For the most part, real club members are about riding, brotherhood, partying, and associating with like minded individuals.
There are of course criminal elements in the club world, as there are in pretty much any organization, such as law enforcement which is rife with criminals but receives much less negative press coverage than biker, celebrity, or political criminals receive.
With our conscious decision and determination to reject as much as possible the individualism stifling strictures and conformist inspired cultural expectations of regular society, an atmosphere of acceptance towards the choices and activities of others within our sub-culture, as long as our cultural mores and norms are respected, has grown and developed.
Very often fellow members do become embroiled in joint criminal activities but intelligent leaders try to ensure that the activities do not involve the whole club, getting an entire club busted together can completely destroy a club even before the RICO Conspiracy Indictments are handed down.
As far as drug use, yeah, in the biker world, not only MC members, but among bikers in general, many drugs are used, and even dealt. Bikers almost use as many drugs as college kids use.
However, despite some drug dealing activities by some MC members, it doesn't even compare to what the street gangs or even high level individual professional drug dealers are doing.
In our area, among the many drug related arrests over the past 3 years, there have been 3 different large scale drug conspiracy investigations resulting in mass arrests. Despite there being a large MC membership in this area, not one single club member has been tied to any aspect of any of these cases.
Yes, there are many poorly educated, in regards to an acceptable formal education, MC members. However, many of my most intellectually stimulating and thought provoking conversations have been over a beer with a fellow biker.
A formal education is necessary to success in the regular world.
A comprehensive understanding of humanity’s drives, desires, and motivations is necessary for survival in our world.
To achieve success or stature in our world at a minimum you need a familiarity with economics, basic human psychology, leadership and management skills, logical and critical thinking skills, and situational assessment ability.
I did not fill the position of #1 National Warlord in a MC for 4 years and survive 1.5 years of that time with a $5,000 contract on my head because I'm an idiot.
Many many of the other high ranking officers of various MC's I encountered, talked with, or became aware of were some of the most intelligent men you could ever have the privilege to meet.
Anyone ignorant enough to assume most of us are stupid are basically too narrow minded to judge us for our abilities in a hard arena and for being the men we are rather than judging us by the standards and values of a society we judge as being weak and ignorant.
However, at least since many of us are very patriotic veterans, you can rest comfortably in the knowledge that for the most part we respect your right (which many of us served to protect) to be a narrow minded, asinine, ignorant, opinionated fool. As I said, school in everything.

Islam › Re: Skepticism Vs Zombiesm - Which Is Good? by budaatum: 4:03pm On Jul 23, 2020 |
usermane: We're talking about the present, not the past. Intelligence and diligence are the keys to scientific development. The skepticism you keep referring is product of intelligence. Skeptism is actually doubt, and is the result of the use of the mind, initially, to think, and then to seek knowledge, which might result in intelligence, or stupidity, depending on the understanding one has of the knowledge one finds. Exploiters tend to reduce knowledge people have by keeping books in languages the people can not understand, by making sure there's no electricity so people can't access contrary information, blowing up schools so they can't be taught, and making sure people believe what they are told, amongst many other things. The person who doubts all this will seek knowledge and gain intelligence (understanding). When one reads a thing and doubts its validity, we say one is skeptical to what one read. It is the attempt to resolve the doubt that makes one seek knowledge. The proper understanding of the knowledge one finds is what then makes one intelligent. If one does not understand the knowledge, one can become more stupid. And this is one of those, as it was in the past so it also is now, which is why we, now, must be aware of it so those tricks don't work on us. |

gensteejay: Especially when an ignorant person that is too dull to understand things written in plain English language in the Bible and those written in Arabic in Qur'an assumes everyone is as ignorant and silly as they're. Ignorance is when some assume others are ignorant when they themselves don't seem to understand that even the Quran they read in Arabic and believe is an edited translation and nothing like its original rendition. Skeptism alone should make them question what they assume they know but just believe, but they dare not question what they pressume was written in God's very own language up in heaven and which they claim to understand. And they can't recognise those who question to conclussion but say, "they are dull". |
Islam › Re: Skepticism Vs Zombiesm - Which Is Good? by budaatum: 9:38pm On Jul 22, 2020 |
tintingz: If muslims become philosophical skeptics i bet you most will irreligious or less Religious. The west is an example . I will say it again skepticism led to Greek philosophers knowledge, led to medieval muslim scientists knowledge then to the west knowledge who are dominating science today. I'm delighted you note that skepticism increases knowledge. Many Muslims have been philosophical skeptics and remained religious, just as Christians too, albeit both of the philosophical sort as opposed to 'believers'. I'd go further and add that unskeptical people, as in, those who unquestioningly believe, are zombies. They are more likely found amongst Nigerians, regardless of religion, than in even Hope Probe to Mars UAE, and in fact, anti-skeptism is why we live in the dark since we have not yet learnt to question and say "Let there be light". So, God or whatever, please continue to bless tingz the skeptic as he blesses everyone else with skeptism! |
Islam › Re: Skepticism Vs Zombiesm - Which Is Good? by budaatum: 9:19pm On Jul 22, 2020 |
usermane: If you spread skepticism in the Muslim world today, it will make almost no difference in their scientific achievement. I can't see how this can be true, and think you say so because you are unaware of the paradigm shifts that skeptism has caused in Islam since its beginning. A skeptic who questions by applying the senses (the scientific method), will come to conclusions most couldn't believe even if they wanted to, and would be the wiser for it. Taqī ad-Dīn Aḥmad ibn Taymiyyah (January 22, 1263 - September 26, 1328), was a Muslim Skeptic. Here's a book you might want to consider on the topic. Sorry I can't find a free pdf, but I found this shed some light despite its anti-skeptic beginning.
