Death To All Homosexuals Funny. But more funny are those taking op serious. It's not as if homosexuals will die just because op opens a thread on Nairaland. And if op had such powers, wouldn't it be best used for "Let there be uninterrupted electricity in Nigeria", such that the response is not, NEPA!? But I feel for op. I might open such thread if someone stuck a díq I'm my mouth too. |

benalvino3: Lol, You cannot tell that is not Donald trump? Yes I can. It says parody somewhere on it, and that's the point. Now, such parodies can fall under free speech. Remember when someone was parodying people on here by opening accounts with similar monikas and we all got them shut down? Twitter may call them freedom of twits and let them live.

By the time EU and UK deal with Twitter for spreading hate speech, or Buhari ban Twitter for following Lekki massacre, there will be different Twitters in each country This is what most clearly are not considering. Hate speech will get it shut down in most countries. |

Olu317: Okay. Obalufon is a descendant of Ora ifẹ. True or false ? The Orolu Kingdom does not have an Obalufon. Our Oba is the Olufon. And if we are not descended from Obatala, the assumption is that we descend from Oduduwa who arrived much later, and whom we are not descended from. Most are not aware of the conflict in Yoruba land between descendants of Oduduwa and those of Obatala. |
Culture › Re: Short History Of Ifon Osun In Osun State by budaatum: 1:45pm On Oct 28, 2022 |
Olu317: How is it that Obatala was the father of Olúfọ̀n ? Let the writer visit iléifẹ for fact than posting information that is not correct. Actually, the writer does not need to visit Ife to find out who the father of Olufọ̀n is. Though they'd tell you the same thing if you do go to Ilé Ìfẹ. The progenitors of the Ifon people originally lived in Ile-Ife. They were descendants of Obatala whose homestead was known as Ideta, one of the several aboriginal settlements which made up Ile-Ife before the rise of Oduduwa to prominence. Obatala, who many people call Orisanla, is referred to by one verse of his Oriki praise-poems, as Ekun Ifon (the leopard of Ifon). He was one of the sixteen elders that accompanied Oduduwa to the world to perform the act of creation which began with the foundation of Ile-Ife out of primordial water. Other elders included Agboniregun (the founder of Ifa oracle) and Ogun (the founder of iron-smithing) among others.
Of the sixteen elders, Obatala was the most powerful. This was because he was the one that had the scared symbol of authority (ase). In fact, he was the one originally delegated by Olodumare with the duty of performing the task of creation of the world. He was also the intermediary between Olodumare, the High God and the creator of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. In particular, Obatala had a powerful gift such that he could commune with Olodumare and anything that he said or forecasted usually came to reality. On account of these, Obatala came to be regarded as the leader or at least primus inter pares of the sixteen aboriginal inhabitants of Yorubaland.

Johnnyessence: Elon Musk has fired the Twitter executive who banned Donald Trump as speculation mounts that the former president could return to the platform.
The one-term president was banned by Twitter’s previous board in the wake of the pro-Trump insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6 202 and was forced to set up his own social media site, Truth Social.
Vijaya Gadde, the head of legal, policy and trust at the company was one of the senior executives fired by Mr Musk on Thursday night as he completed his $44bn.
It has been reported that Ms Gadde played a central role in Twitter’s decision to ban Mr Trump with CEO Jack Dorsey vacationing on a private island at the time.
In addition to his Twitter ban, Mr Trump was also barred from using Instagram and Facebook for his repeated election denials and pushing of misinformation.
The deadly riot at the US Capitol has been blamed for the deaths of several police officers and resulted in charges of seditious conspiracy for some of Mr Trump’s hardline supporters.
Mr Musk has publicly criticised the Twitter decision to ban Mr Trump from the platform.
He called the move a “mistake” earlier this year at a financial conference, while not directly saying whether he’d reverse it should he take over the company.
“I do think that it was not correct to ban Donald Trump,” said Mr Musk in May. “I think that was a mistake because it alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.”
Following his Twitter ban, Mr Trump has repeatedly said that he would not leave Truth Social to return to Twitter.
Speculation about Mr Trump’s potential return was rife on Twitter on Thursday night, with a fake statement by the former president widely circulating on the site.
“LOL! Left wing desperation for (Donald Trump) to go back to Twitter. #deepfakes #FakeNews,” posted Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes.
In a May SEC filing from the blank-check company that was planning to take Truth Social public, it was stated that Mr Trump would have to restrict himself from using other social media platforms.
This included Mr Trump not being obligated to post on Truth Social and not being allowed to make the same post on another social media platform for six hours.
However, it stated that he would be free to post at any time from a personal account on any platform about political messaging, political fundraising or get-out-the-vote efforts.

Drwords: Respect is earned and fear, enforced.
Nonetheless, they both serve a singular endgoal: to create a god-like expression and appear exemplary. Fear and respect do most definitely not serve the same purpose and the endgoal is not the same, though, the Nigerian mentality is prone to think they do due to their use in archaic religious texts and our inability to evolve and update. Fear is for something one is afraid of, like a snake or a God that would burn one in hell or a tyrannical parent or someone pointing a gun at one. Respect is for someone one reveres and holds in high regard, like a loving parent or a good wife or one's friend or even one's child. A person feared is not exemplary. And once they lose what makes them fearful (i.e. their gun), they usually become unfeared and disrespected. While a person is respected usually because of something exemplary (a good or desirable quality) that they may possess.

Freeze007: Thank you so much Sir, well, since you have mentioned what the mind, heart etc should perceive to be truth, I was told that Leader Olumba Olumba Obu caused a miracle of that sort to happen which I believe. You were told and you believed without checking if what you were told were true? Freeze007: Sir, you are something special, I liked how you capped the message that we sow what we reap, I feel like you are talking to me, still, I pray that all my wrongs can be done right with people like you around me rich with wisdom. Sir, you are something special. Most don't question me like you are rightly doing. Question your beliefs too, and you may understand and then become rich in wisdom. Freeze007: Also, I am aware God is not too deceived because I must reap whatever I have sown so that if I am sowing truth I must of necessity reap the joy that is associated with you with you being a witness. You will only sow truth if you know what truth is. And you will only know what truth is if you become as a child, abandoning all your beliefs, and check all things with your own heart and soul and mind and being. Freeze007: Thank you Sir, but, by the way, what does your mind, heart perceive about the persona, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu in the name of truth or Good what is your mind telling you. My mind tells me nothing about Olumba Olumba Obu, as I have not had the opportunity to know or converse with him. I do know he was famous in the 70s and 80s, like TB Joshua kind of famous. I am concerned however, that you believe what you've been told he may or may not have done, without bothering to verify with your own senses. But that's your choice, I guess. |

Freeze007: Sir I want to appreciate this piece of information, since I was not there and it happened I can't explain how even though I am keeping an open mind.
Like I said, I know about Bassey Olumba Olumba Obu and Ibum Olumba Olumba Obu both came to being, by Leader Olumba Olumba Obu blessing water and giving to the mother which I am sure miraculously created foetuses....Now, can this be scientifically proven I don't know today maybe in the future. Definition. (Very layman!)Scientifically Prove, is to use one's own senses (heart and soul and mind and being) to ask and knock and seek in order to verify. Now, please answer the question in bold above. Freeze007: Do you agree that it is possible to cause a woman to become pregnant only by giving her water with no intercourse? No, I do not agree "that it is possible to cause a woman to become pregnant only by giving her water with no intercourse", because there is no evidence whatsoever that I have come across to suggest "that it is possible to cause a woman to become pregnant only by giving her water with no intercourse". Freeze007: Do you believe in miracles? DefinitionMiracle - an extraordinary and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to a divine agency. It basically means, one does not know how an extraordinary and welcome event occured, so one ignorantly claims it is a miracle. If one enquired with one's heart and soul and mind and being, the miracle may be understood or revealed for what it is.
