Politics / Re: The Unpredictable People Of Kano by Bukittes(f): 10:00am On Apr 28, 2011
You all need to see Kano yesterday, the whole city was agog with celebration and chanting of "Kwankwasiya - Amana". You will not believe that this was the same city where everyone were running helter skelter and blood was flowing mercilessly just days before. Kano is really unpredictable but I think they voted "Individual" and not "Party". I just hope Engr Rabiu delivers.
Their sentiments was against Jonathan cos he is a Christian and they see themselves too good to be governed by an "harni" - Infidel or unbeliever! Very crazy people these people are o!!

I sincerely don't know what the bruhaha is about this debate! If they like let attend, if they like let them stab it. How does it contribute to the progress of this country? Promises that we've heard since inception of democracy. Talk is cheap but action is expensive in this country. What noise are we making sef about the NN24 debate? the debate was as useless as it sounded! All of them were singing the same song , "I am not PDP" Didnt we all know that? The thing that pained me most was that I had to go watch in another person's house far from my bunk and I left the debate halfway cos the anchor woman was asking some dumb questions! You can imagine her asking Buhari "Has the PDP done well in this country?" (Paraphrased) do u expect an opponent to say yes my opponent has done well? Is this something BON too wants to subject us to? Then it is good the candidates opted out, we will listen to less ranting from clueless pple. Imagine Shekarau emerging as the best candidate from that debate!!!! Kai Nigeria is in trouble!
Politics / Breaking News: Ribadu, Buhari And Shekarau Pull Out Of Jonathan’s Tv Debate! by Bukittes(f): 12:24pm On Mar 24, 2011
Three presidential candidates have pulled out of a televised debate scheduled for March 29 2011 according to a press statement signed by spokespersons of the campaign organizations of Shekarau for Nigeria, Buhari Campaign Organization and Ribadu Presidential Campaign Team.

See press statement below:

Our Position On President Jonathan’s Refusal To Participate In The Presidential Debate Organised By Nn24

We the spokespersons of the Presidential Candidate of the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP); the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) wish to clear the air on the matter of the presidential debate organised by NN24 so that our teeming supporters and Nigerians in general will understand and appreciate our position.
We had held series of clear-the-air meetings under the auspices of the organisers at which logical and other arrangements for the debate were exhaustively discussed.

The representative of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Dr. Doyin Okupe, was in attendance and actively participated in all deliberations.

It was at Dr. Okupe’s instance that the two dates earlier proffered by the organisers; March 8th and 15th as contained in the memorandum of understanding signed by the three candidates were rejected because according to him, those dates were not convenient for his candidate. Dr. Okupe, on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, suggested the March 18th date in which the debate was successfully held.

All of us accepted this date not because it was convenient for our Principals, but as our sacrifice to afford Nigerian voters an opportunity to assess and judge the candidates’ programmes as well as personality under the spotlight.

For emphasis, we had to adjust our respective campaign time tables at great logistics costs to us as our sacrifices for the growth of the culture of debate as an essential ingredient of the open society.

We indeed bent backwards for the office of the President even when we are fully aware that the occupant is no more than a co-contestant in the context at it were.
But the there is a limit to which we can subject ourselves to this sheer impunity of the ruling party which they have flunked on our faces as a people in the last 12 years. The PDP has a record of shunning every Presidential debate since 1999.

We are highly suspicious of the celebrated romance with the BON debate by the president Jonathan’s camp which shunned the NN24 debate without an apology. We can only hazard that since most of the agencies organizing the BON debate are government parastatals, the organizers may not be in a position to resist the request for advance questions being given to the debates in which the NN24 agreed with us because they were independent. This does not mean that the men and women running these agencies lack integrity but the awe some power of the presidency may be too much for them.

Our principals being men of dignity with high regard for the people of Nigeria will not be part of such orchestrated charade of a D'Banj's “kokolete” debate.

Like millions of other Nigerians, we consider this behaviour of the president as egotistical, condescending and unbecoming of a man seeking a mandate to govern Nigeria. Leadership entails humility and respect for others.

A situation where the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation deliberately set out to humiliate other Presidential Candidates by reneging on an agreement it proposed is unacceptable to us and the millions of our supporters.

Consequently, we state without ambiguity that our principals will not honour any debate session with president Goodluck Jonathan in the 2011 elections as he has arrogantly shunned the credible debate for which we made ourselves available.

Future presidents of Nigeria will have to be more careful in dealing with the feelings of others.

In no attempt to support PDP or violence, when GEJ came to Kano for his campaign, u need to see how the other parties too came out with their thugs and almajiris driving carelessly and dangerously on the roads on bikes and buses, trying to provoke and disrupt the PDP rally. If PDP had taken the bait too, there would have been another case of fracas in the city but they were able to assuage that. I think all Nigerians need is tolerance for one another. Its not a party thing but the fact that we don't have this gift of tolerance and love for our fellow men. Why should we be killing ourselves when somebody is sitting on our loot and is campaigning to win and sit on more loot! E gba mi!!!!! I think the other parties are just scared too of the ruling party cos they can as well have their own rally too the next day ke!

Politics / Re: Explosive! Buhari, Nigeria And The Organization Of Islamic Conference (OIC) by Bukittes(f): 4:48pm On Mar 17, 2011
buhari claims he has a change of mind concerning this OIC thing but who are we to know if this is genuine when we are not God that knows the true intent of man? But whether I believe or I don't, I will not put my life in the life of this kind of man who already feels that my religion is not to be respected and wants to impose his on me. That is a violation of rights and he did that to me long ago and i still have not and will not forgive him for it. Simple!!! I live in the core north so I know what it means to be thrown stones because you are wearing skirt and u r not all covered like a masquerade, I know what it means never to go to a certain area without been prepared to be called a harlot or harne (unbeliever) even by suckling children all because u r not their religion. I know what it means for a hausa man to want to touch your breast in an open market but cannot dare same for their wives. I know what it means for u to have an accident and not given a fair judgment, I know what it means to always ask on fridays whether the town is safe or not before venturing out in the morning. I know what it means to pray during episodes of their madness for blood that u may not be a victim and ur loved ones too. I know what it means to rent apartments where u think is safe even if it isn't convenient just to be safe when this madness begins. So if u r supporting Buhari or u think OIC is nothing, then these and more should be expected in Nigeria as a whole and not just in the core north. Are we prepared to be trampled upon? My religion defines me, it is me! so anyone that wants to take that from me is my sworn enemy! I don't want to know if Buhari has a Christian running mate or running wife or cook, that is because he needs their services and he is paying them for it, I don't need his service, I don't need his leadership!!

Politics / Re: Pdp Opts Out Of Presidential Debate by Bukittes(f): 5:06pm On Mar 11, 2011
Funny enough said, it will amount to wasting a lot of profitable time watching the debate even if they all agree to it. Who do I want to listen to and not be bored? Jonathan? Buhari? Ribadu? Shekarau?? Who? The only person that can get his tenses correct is Bakare (thank God for his religious background) but he will be talking as if he is still on the pulpit preaching. Can somebody pls tell him this is politics and no one is giving life to Christ here!!! So in conclusion men and brethren, this debate is not worth any salt. Use ur precious time take watch a new film from box office or go read a new book.
Politics / Re: Pdp Opts Out Of Presidential Debate by Bukittes(f): 5:00pm On Mar 11, 2011
I think Nigerians need to understand when they read things. The article above gave reasons why the President cannot attend the debate and we seem not to comprehend. Whats even the bruhaha about this debate sef, even if he comes out today and make promises does it equal to carrying out those promises? Abeg make una let us drink water keep cup! If the president don't want a debate so be it, anyone that wants should go on ahead! Shuo!

Why then will they fill up a hall with only the opposing party fan present? I have always said it that our collared men should pray for wisdom when involved in politics or else they will keep soiling their garments! see one defacing a poster, now these. Whats wrong with them sef? Are they not supposed to be promoting peace? I salute Orgi for walking out, the organizers deserves no respect since they didn't respect him enough to tell him their plans and letting him choose whether or not he wants to be a partaker.
Celebrities / Hubby Tackles Omotola Over Grammy Picture by Bukittes(f): 8:55am On Mar 04, 2011
Captain Ekeinde, the husband of Nollywood diva, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has questioned his wife over a controversial picture she took at the recently held Grammy Awards.

The picture that has been in circulation in all social network sites shows how an unknown guy is posing with the mother of four, placing his hand on her 'backside.'

It was gathered that since we published the photograph on Friday last week, the pilot husband of the screen diva has queried his wife. He asked her who the guy in question is, and above all, his relationship with Omotola.

Although he was said to have heard about the picture, Ekeinde never thought much about it until his attention was drawn to it and he has quizzed his wife, just to be sure it was a mere showbiz posture.

“The truth of the matter is that he trusts his wife very much, but as a human, it is normal for him to investigate such thing. She has exonerated herself from people's speculation any way, and I think everything is under control,” said a source close to the couple.

The picture has generated comments Omotola Jalade's Embarassing Dress at The Grammys 2011 from fans of the actress. While some are of the opinion that there is nothing wrong with the picture, others argued that she shouldn't have allowed the guy go that far.

Omotola is no doubt one of the luckiest female celebrities in Nigeria. Aside having a high-flying career, she is one of the few that have a stable relationship and devoid of scandals.

Although she got married at an early age, a lot of people had expected the marriage to hit the rocks long ago.

Even at a time when rumours that she was having extra-marital affairs were spreading like wild fire, it wasn't enough to bring her marriage down. She is one of the few lucky ones because most of her colleagues have been victims of broken relationships as a result of scandals.
