I think Uber should just creat Uber Haulage for those who want to carry load. For me i always have my personal effect in my boot and i dont allow anybody to put anything in my boot. Not even a single person. if whatever you want to carry can not sit at the back sit, then i will help you cancel.

pope191:
Some girls r just born stupid, when u see a rider with 4.3 rating, u don't need anyone to tell u deh lack manners. I'm at MBA when dis request came in, she called and ask me to drive down to cash and carry with my boot open... I asked madam what r u putting in my boot and where are u taking it to? She pulsed for awhile said fridge, but won't disclose where she is going too. Me that like sleep grin I jejely active my sleep mood back. The next call I got from her was on a high pitch note "Where r u, I'm waiting outside". Me b like, ma! I don't know where u r going, I don't even know the litre of the fridge, if I park at the road while picking u and dose tow guys jump down, what will u do? Oga cancel the ride with harsh tones...

To d once after me, don't let any rider bully you, las las u won't sit and watch her fix fridge in and out of your boot, if the trip is 1k, that's probably what u may get, to them, they r doin u a favour.

You can change the setting to Goggle Map. Uber or Taxify maps are not accurate.

GforGee:

I was there too o. I'm new in Lagos, started uber yesterday. I got a request from there but couldn't get to the rider location (as I no sabi road, I just dey follow map). The map come waste my fuel well well, rider asked for cancellation......all the while that yeye map was showing me I'm almost at the location.

I envy those of you that already know your way around Lagos, Google should employ you people to reconfigure that map angry

Everything noted by this writer is correct. i now have first hand experience.

error4040:

And why did you not mention this

1. You must pay for a minimum of 20 days in a
month or it will be taken away from you.
2. If you use it even for just one hour in a day,
you pay the full daily price.
3. It will cost you about N3,000 per month for
very limited power.
Now 4500

4. It is low capacity. With small sized TV, it will
run out in not more than 2-3 hours in the night,
may be better during the day. On days when it
rains and heavy cloud with little sunshine, you will
have no light, especially if you exhausted it the
previous night.
5. You will only stop paying after 5 years and by
then, the battery will probably be dead.
Paying outright it would cost N402,000.
If paying over 2 years it would be N447,000 over
the 2 year period.

6. This is just mindless money-making by MTN
and Lumos and I suspect that it will fail for lack of
patronage they may be force to increase their Price later on.

My brother, the first time this thing happened. I was charged N400 and Uber refused to reverse the money claiming that it was a compensation for the driver's time as the driver has waited for more than 5 mins at my location. I didnt suspect it was intentional on the part of the driver then. it thought the driver was unable to locate the person i requested the ride for.

brogxy:

Simple! Why bother yourself chasing drivers to locate them. Since you claimed to be a driver, you should know there is a way to dispute a charge.
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by busayo2uk: 3:56pm On Mar 20, 2019
I experienced a scam from two drivers same day in a two successive requests.

It was late in the night at Diya Street, Gbagada, i requested for uber ride and a driver accepted. He called and asked the location, i told him it was Ikosi in Magodo area and he accepted. I was following him on the map, he drove not too far from me and he switched off his engine and refused to pick my call when i wanted to ask him where he was. When he got closer, i actually saw the vehicle so i called to confirm but to my surprise he told me he was still far away. then i suspected he wanted to play a fast one on me as i am a driver myself.

Using the app, i was able to locate him, i moved closer and asked why he did that. Apparently he moved closer to me so that after 5 mins of waiting, he would cancel under "rider isn't here" so that i would be charged and he would be credited. I told him to his face but he denied and refused to accept to go to my destination. I now insist that he should cancel using "dont charge rider". I forced him to do that and i wasnt charged.

immediately, i requested for another uber ride. to my utmost surprise, the 2nd person pulled the same stunt claiming he didnt remember he accepted any trip after i used the application to trace him.

This is a new level of fraud by drivers which should not be encouraged as it can frustrate riders.

Can anyone advise how these two drivers can be reported for such fraudulent activities? I also think is better to call people's attention to such.

You are a good driver. As a car owner, the reverse is my own case. my driver has been telling me stories since JAN till date. I ensure my car is on point with no issue but driver will be giving low patronage as an excuse. different strokes.

nitigriti:
Car owners dealt with me, ehn. I get story.
#1. Toyota Yaris, the first car I rented on ehailing. One day like that I was going to Oyingbo from Yaba bus stop. At the turning into Commercial Avenue, one danfo driver overtook me from the right and crossed in front of me to turn into Commercial Avenue. He collided with the car, damaging the right front fender, the right front wheel shock absorber, the headlight cover (right, front) broke, and the 2 side mirrors got detached (danfo crushed one, while the impact of the collision pushed me in the path of an Okada passing one way who also yanked off the other).
I detained the danfo driver and his danfo at Sabo Police Station and called the car owner. Oga said "Hold the Danfo driver well well, no let am go". I told him I've already detained him at Sabo, that they were preparing to charge him to court sef for driving without a license and for causing malicious damage. Oga said "ehn ehn, well done. Na so". I told Oga, Station DTO is asking for #20,000 to charge the case to court (LASTMA inspection, Crime Diary entry, DPO approval etc), Oga said "hold the Danfo driver well".
Aaaaahhhhhh! Is it mouth I will use to hold the Danfo driver? Oga, Oga, come Police Station, DTO wan even see owner of car. Oga said "tell DTO say I no dey Lagos. I don travel go South Africa". Meanwhile, bus owner and Danfo driver were using God and the heads of their children to beg me. DTO was asking me how far, make him proceed?

I considered everything and told DTO I don't want any case. He should release danfo driver and the bus. They thanked me, DTO released everybody (I still pay am #5,000). I got home that night with the car. Called Oga, told him what I did. Oga went ballistic. I told him you didn't show up, there's no input from you. You just kept pushing me forward, so what do I do? Give DTO #20,000 and leave the car with the Police till the case is settled? Maybe in 6 months time? Oga, I didn't hear from you, so I did as my spirit led me.

Next morning, I called Oga Gazzuzz, told him I have a car I need repaired. Gazzuzz said I should come. Drove to the workshop with my son. After assessment, I got repairs estimate of about #80,000 excluding the cost of replacing the two damaged mirrors. Gazzuzz told me to bring the comprehensive insurance so he can send the bill to the insurance company. I called car owner, the repair garage is asking for comprehensive insurance. Oga said him no wan use the insurance now, say make I hol Danfo driver well well. "Shebi you still get him number and address? Use Police go carry am for house, make you hol am well well". The Oga no get comprehensive insurance for him vehicle. I was a newbie naa, so I fell mugu, driving car with third party insurance. Last last, I paid for those repairs from my pocket. I also replaced the side mirrors (additional #25,000) from my pocket. Repairs completed in about one week after the incident. Immediately I retrieved the car from Oga Gazzuzz workshop, I called car owner to let him know I was with the car now. "Ehn, ehn, when are you going to send me the #40,000 rental for last week?". Excuse me, the car was undergoing repairs all through last week. I sent you the garage's invoice, I gave you the phone numbers of the owner of the garage, I gave you the address .... "Deji, you think say I be JJC for this business? You forget say I be Bini boy? That garage belongs to your friend. Na both of una arrange this scam wey you wan scam me. Send my money, abeg, me I no dey for all this talk wey you dey talk". I just weak. I paid his money, then dropped his car for him.
Car owners are wicked.

Tell AC repairer to clean or change the filter on the evaporator. Once the filter on the evaporator is dirty it reduces the flow of air. That's just the problem. Please do not remove any thermostart. Most of this guys are illiterate and do not know the function of thermostat.

You are only taking into consideration those things you can calculate.

What about factors beyond your control such as:

- sickness on the part of the driver and being unable to drive.
- damage to the car that will require a huge amount and would not allow driver to work for few days.
- Yanking off by UBER or Taxify due to low rating or any other offence.
- for anyone to put a car for HP, am sure that car wld have seen better days -- there is hardly anyone who can buy a chacha car and give it out on HP.
- bad weather, especially during raining season

So you can now see that you can hardly project income.

Fahrenz:
I understand you points.
HP is not for everyone but that doesn't mean it won't work.

No one can drive 730 days without hindrance and when I said 730 days I didn't mean it in a stretch. No one signs a contract that doesn't allow for hindrance. We are humans.

My point is from a positive perspective.

If a Toyota corolla is totally sound, engine, body, gearbox and suspension it is very easy to achieve HP. I gave that guy a number of factors that would make him successful and if he sticks to it, he will be fine.

If you can consistently net 120k in a week and you have a good maintenance habit and saving habit, you don't need two years to complete the hp. You need those factors I mentioned, focus, and commitment.

A tokunbo corolla can go straight 2 months without needing anything more than an oil change. And if he uses the extended performance oil, 3 months before oil change. Let's not talk as if cars break down everyday.

At 120k a week, he owes only 35k.

Do you agree that with the remaining 85k left from that week, it is enough for him to fuel the car, eat, recharge his data and airtime and then save at least 25k weekly?

If a driver on HP can save 25k weekly, by the 12th month, he has saved 1.2m and has paid out almost 1.7m. If he decides to pay 900k to the car owner from his yearly savings, how many months do you think is left for him to complete the balance?

Don't forget the month of December.... Don't forget.

I understand that it is impossible to some drivers, but HP is very achievable if all conditions are met, especially focus and determination.

If you make 15k daily on weekdays, and 50k combined on weekends that's already 125k.

Someone like me will dust this HP but I agree that everyone doesn't have, not share my mindset.

But i dont think the manufacturer designed the car for commercial. My manual said 5w30 but i think this is too light for the kind of work the car will do so i do Total 5000 quartz which is slightly thicker. Else, i will be changing oil every 2 or 3wks with about 10k.

franksam2009:
check ur car Manual or engine oil cover, that's d thickness of d oil the manufacturer wants you to use,. Any other oil is not eligible

that's d worst oil a driver will use for ehailing cos he won't be able to change d oil on monthly intervals cos it's costly,. You will just kill your engine for nothing just as the driver did, I also pity those guys using XHP dey Don't know what dey are doing to their engine, XHP is too thick

That is why we need a tracker on our vehicle. You can go and pick your car anywhere he is. Also, always have a spare key to pick your car up anytime you wish.

Good day fellow partners. I'm forced to bring this issue here. Car owners please avoid this driver known as Gbolahan Anise. The guy is a wicked soul from the pit of hell. I gave him my car in perfect condition to him on October 26 and was forced with the help of policemen from Area M to retrieve my car from him. He was never consistent with my weekly delivery. He was owing me two weeks delivery before I used policemen in collecting my car from him. Before engaging him, he said he had previously worked with Dru. Till now, he has not paid me after writing an undertaking at the police station to pay me all my money before January. He is dubious and fraudulent. His Uber phone number is 0806 651 8504. Car owners, please stay away from him. After collecting my car, I spent almost 100k to put it back to good shape.

This cant be true. This will definitely be a case of a relationship gone wrong and she want to get to the guy at all cost. I witnessed similar event recently of a lady accusing a guy who didn't settle him falsely.

Jenniferblog:
A Nigerian lady took to Facebook to accuse a man identified as Goodluck of offering her N100,000 to get him female underwear.

LIB decided to share this post to create awareness regarding the incessant cases of stolen underwears which are reportedly being sold for ritual purposes.

Read her post below.

"I don't know how to feel about this. But this is the conversation between I and one Goodluck here on Facebook.
I don't need to say much about our conversation because it's very easy to comprehend.
I pasted his picture there because I want you all to identify him. Get him arrested and sent to prison. Or rather, stone him to death. He's one of the people perpetuating the act of selling panties belonging to ladies. And I want to assure you all that his account isn't fake. We've been friends on Facebook for years but haven't conversed.
If this guy can ask me for such business proposal, then he can as well do anything. Ladies stay woke, be careful and prayerful and where ever you find him.

That Uber will always be profitable for the lone driver who owns his/her car may not be true because of fuel cost. If your trip can no longer replace your fuel with little change left, then that will be the end.

helium2:

In the short term yes. In the long time, fares will keep dropping till Uber is not a luxury service.

A guy earning 150k a month cant conveniently take uber twice a week for a month.

A 1.5k trip twice a week comes to 3k a week and 12k a month.

Hardly affordable for a 150k guy.

Much less affordable for 100k guy.

Infact to put it in perspective, a lot of the guys driving Uber cant afford uber.

That is not an affordable service.

The future of Uber is in companies who own large fleets and are able to keep costs down while making up for small margins with increased asset turnover.

That being said, Uber will always be profitable for the lone driver who owns his/her car.

I dont think we should dwell on this anymore. The man has done the right thing by reporting a deviant driver. We should hail him rather than castigate him.

If someone has done the wrong thing, let us all come together to chastise the person rather than making excuse for such person. What the driver did is very wrong and it shows the man is sick upstairs.

Stealth100:

This is the same way people shame rape victims. Asking why would she dress that way, why would she go out at night, why would she meet him in an hotel.
Not every lady can behave like a tout, like someone said earlier, some ladies are very classy. The wife has no blame whatsoever in this scenario, I can’t believe y’all can blame her for anything.
People report drivers for way lesser offence than this. What exactly is wrong with the husband reporting the driver?

In sincerity, do you see anything in particular why you love this lady apart from facial beauty? If yes you may go on as those act were act associated with ladies of that age which we can call youthful exuberance. As she matures you will get to know her more. Dont judge her on her actions as a teenager.

[qquote author=enshi post=72949466]I met this young pretty
girl about two months now. It was love at first sight for both of us. She is a student and she is in her early 20s.
Recently I brought up an idea to help us know each other better. This idea allows us ask each other any question especially about our past ( relationship, experiences, ideas, beliefs, and lots more) but we must answer with all sincerity.
With sincerity of all intents and purposes, I just wanted to know what my gf could/would be capable of.

My first question was have you dated a married man before, to my surprise her answer was YES , I asked for how long and she said a year plus. She was just 18 at the time and she goes to his house to make love to him when ever the wife travelled. OMG

My second was have you had a one night stand with a guy you just met, again her answer was YES and it was just some months ago and she was still dating her EX when this happened.

At this point I was just too shocked that I started asking anything. Next question was have you had a 3SOME before, her answer was NO but she has slept with two cousins though they never found out.

I was just too afraid to ask her if she smokes cos I didn't want the shock of my life.

Pls guys considering her age and knowing fully well that the leopard never changes its spots, pls do you advise I Carry on with her as my intention was to make her my last gf. [/quote]

With what i am seeing on the screenshot, you caused this for yourself. This is a very simple case. You do not need to argue with the customer which Uber forbid. Uber has already indicated that you can cancel if rider isn't her after 5 mins. Please note that cancellation after 5 mins of waiting for your rider is legitimate and do not count against you, but rather, N300 is paid to you. If you have decided to wait, uber is paying you N11 per min so you do not need to argue with the rider. For me, if i wait for a reasonable time, and i am not getting good feedback, and uber has encouraged me to cancel after 5 mins. I will quickly cancel sharp sharp.

Let me tell you an experience. I drove a long km to arrive at a pick up location, the rider said she was sorry that they had already taken another uber. I just waited for 5 mins with prayer that the rider will not cancel before 5 mins. immediately after 5 mins and uber notified me that i can cancel if rider isnt here. i did sharp sharp and i gained 300 for my wasted fuel.

Any job offering u 40k today in Nigeria is planning to ruin your life as you cannot achieve anything with that amount and you cant have time to do something better for yourself. You can be better off as an uber driver than a 40k job in this nigeria of today. That is less than $150 in a whole month.

Please i need your honest & candid advice,

I presently work with a firm (8am - 5pm) salary job, with pay of 40k.
A good Samaritan is willing to offer me a vehicle for Uber @ 30k weekly on hired-purchase, If i take this offer i would only work effectively at weekends (Sat & Sun) and probably at evenings daily after office.

I don't want to quit my present job now. Would i be able to meet up with this 30k weekly payment rate with this schedule of mine ?

Can i tell you the truth, that guy does not really need your car to make money, he only wanted your car for rental. He uses the car for his personal use and run on uber at his own time or weekend and make ur 30k to pay you at the end of the week. if the car is having a major problem, you take care of it. This is a cool way to own a car without buying any. He can actually make that 30k with few trips. Trust me, he will pay you the 30k, but he now owns a car which he can use as he pleases without having to save to buy one.

its like borrowing money from bank and use your Porsche car as collateral. When you return from your trip, you repay the money with little interest but they have helped you to look after your car while you are away. Hope i am passing a msg.

A guy wants my car for weekly rental of 30k. The problem is that he has a 9-5 job. He swears that he can remit 30k weekly without stories.

What is required for this Job is not only a good car but a very good phone. I use Samsung J7 Pro (about 100k) and my 4G is always constant anywhere any-day.

slamstanlee:
and if u don't. U can't end d trip.
Few times my riders shared Hotspot with me especially on cash trip. Other times i ask dem to just give me what dey saw on d estimate, i lose 100-200 naira atimes.
But on card, i just tell d rider d trip isn't ending cause of poor coverage of my network, i will switch to 3g and refresh d network and if it doesn't end i will have to move away from here a little. And they always agree, and still give 5star.
