Impeachment? Impeached for what? He has asked you and your political godfathers, no not the APC, you know what I mean, to provide clear evidences of his corruption. Just provide the evidence of his corruption. SaharaReporters, OsunDefenders and others have been going around trying to bribe people to claim evil against this man. Yet no evidence. Is it because he is a minority? A small man/boy, compared to Tinubu? Or the other buffoons claiming to be national leaders? This ilugunboy, are you a real jackass or just a frustrated junkie? The country asking Jonathan to provide the dividend which was promised, yet you are selfishly wasting our time with gobbledygook. You have been canvassing for anarchy for sometime with your cohorts. Get a life. There are a whole lot of people who deserve to spend quality time at the IKORODU mental rehabilitation Centre, instead of coming here to sing their macabre twist. By the way, Jonathan will happily pay for the stay at the centre. Haterz are real time failures in the game of life.

ilugunboy: Nothing will happen if GEJ is impeached..there will be the initial uproar in the SS with threat of pipeline vandalism and sea piracy and kidnapping...as usual expatriates will relocate to Lagos temporarily and use helicopters to fly unto the rigs..it will eventually die down.

The SE cannot do and will NOT do anything....they are AGIP....the govt in power will as usual invite Ohaneze and hand them their usual 30M...end of discussion.

Nigeria is doing well with Jonathan onboard. It is only blind no-gooders on this forum that cannot see. LEADERSHIP is not about your ethnicity. It is about co-ordinated delegation of duties to qualified aides (ministers) and up holding the constitution. This humble but accomplished man has delivered. He has appointed the best people out there, vetted by NASS. These checks and balances means that the renegades on these forum must look beyond their stuffed noses to allow this man to deliver on his manifesto, instead of having answer inane and inconsequential questions. Jonathan has done wonders for Nigeria. The first democratic leader in Sub-Sahara Africa.
agbameta: OBJ, the Nigerian constitution and the Nigerian people

Never let any soul not qualified or not mentally equipped to be the vice president because vice presidents are a heart beat away from the presidency.

OBJ set all this in motion hence GEJ the president of Nigeria by default after Yaradua and Nigerians in 2011 not using their brains and instead banked everything on emotions.

The Nigerian people didn't ask the tough questions in 2011, they didn't look for any qualifying attributes or achievements as a man and as a deputy governor, as a governor and as the vice president.

This man did not build a single classroom in his state even with all the money at his disposal, but we let him slide anyways with some silly and emotional nonsense about shoes.

We are looking at the most corrupt administration in the history of Nigeria, but we didn't ask any question about his knowledge or participation as the deputy governor in Bayelsa or even what he did while Alams his boss looted the state dry. Was he part of it or just too dumb to figure out what was going on or just looked the other way?

We didn't ask why he refused to disclose or quantify his wealth to Nigerians, but this same man took Tinubu to court for not disclosing some silly and worthless bank accounts with nothing in them.

Bottom line, we are not politically sophisticated enough to engage politics and politicians in our corrupt and incompetent political environment.

Why western union. Are you so poor that you need to receive WU? Find job sharp sharp. That is why this country is very corrupt.

ifyalways: Recently,I was at ajose adeogun branch of GTB for a western union transaction. I was shocked when the lady at the counter said " we don't do WU transactions over the counter anymore, you can only receive your WU via internet banking"
I thought it was a joke or something but she was serious. Long story short,I had to use another bank where I operate a savings account to get my WU.

My questions/worries now:
Why would GTB insist and indirectly enforce its customers to activate "internet banking" for WU transactions ? I personally don't do internet banking and I'm sure there are others like me.
Besides,GTB unlike other banks insist on operating a current account with them before one can access WU so why include Internet banking?

Why should I use internet banking to access WU? And if you've used it,how was the process? What's new,any advantage?

The thing is that Nigeria is working under Jonathan. So we need to give him the credit. Imagine Yar Adua and his excellent being president. God forbid ... No more Nonsense. Jonathan is shocking. He is game changer. All Hail Jonathan.

Mr Knowitall: Fellas fellas relax. First, Lagos is clearly not the only city in Africa attracting foreigners, if you look again you will see Acra and kampala on the list. Second, President Jonathan had nothing to do with the success of lagos, it was Fasholas strategic planning and vision that brought Lagos this far. How do I know this? Well, ask yourself; how are the other states in the country doing. If all the states are collectively doing well, then you can give the credit to Jonathan. If not, then obviously Fashola is the man. I personally dont care for PDP or APC or whatever they call themselves, but am a firm believer in give credit where credit is due. Sorry to crash the party. Cheers my friends, mother fvckng cheers.

We must thank the Jonathan Administration for being the best in the world. APC and OBJ must hide their face in shame. No abuse here. No APC supporters are invited to this party. On a serious note, OBJ must be arrested to provide solid evidence to back up his assertions. If he fails to provide the said evidence, then he must be charged with wasting the police and security forces time, which carries a minimum term of 4 years. This will send a signal to Jonathan haters that it is not business as usual.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Response Shallow, Disappointing - Northern Elders by callmenow: 4:10pm On Dec 24, 2013
The following are FACTs. Jonathan is not required to reveal his score card until his term is due. Jonathan is not required to address sectional, factional or regional interest to the detriment any other part of the federation. Jonathan must remember to advise the ministers that they will be investigated after office. All the sectional, factional interests feel obliged to sabre-rattle periodically to stake their claim come 2015. 40% of Nigerians are illiterate, so by crude deduction, at least 40 % of Nairalanders are illiterates sadly, despite spewing out nonsense here daily. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria
However, the voters in Nigeria in 2015 will not be voting because a Nairalander told them that Jonathan was a failure. I have learnt from some people in Abuja, that the opposition will not be allowed to rig at the polling booth or to strong arm people, especially the 'presidential'. It is wishful thinking for some sad posters here who are misguided to think that Jonathan is in trouble yet. NEF is irrelevant as far as the north is concerned. The core north does not support NEF. NEF are very corrupt selfish people who has misrepresented us. My quest for a northerner to rule will be on merit, not because of what many feel that Jonathan is a 'small boy' and an 'infidel' and must be stopped at all costs. We must express ourselves as equals, regardless of the size of the ethnic group and respect customs as long as it doesn't contradict our federal constitution. Jonathan should be given time to serve us better. Then our north will be allowed to serve in accordance of the 'federal character'. We do not want to go back to the sixties where eboes believed that it is only them that should rule.

PoliticsRe: Is GEJ Insinuating Obasanjo Killed Murtala Mohammed? by callmenow: 1:20pm On Dec 23, 2013
These rumours has never gone away! However, OBJ has been lucky all his life until this 2013. Could anyone have contemplated this thread six weeks ago. It is the OBJ hubris that has brought us to this point. OBJ believed that he 'won' the Biafran war. He was to be the head of state after the Gowon coup. However the northern officers insisted on seniority in the army. Murtala Mohammed was however a course ahead of OBJ, and therefore OBJ's senior. OBJ acquiesced. However Murtala wanted to return Nigeria to civil rule after his tenure in 1978/1979 after the constitutional conference to setup the enabling constitution. This in effect means that OBJ would not be Head of State which he believes is his destiny. Dimka and his cohorts went ahead to kill Murtala, because they were OBJ boys, having worked under him. However, OBJ seeing the outcry after the coup sacrificed them. Before all these, Murtala suspected OBJ of being corrupt because of OBJ's proclivities in Lagos. He was pursuing other officers wives, impregnating women all over Lagos (unsubstantiated, however but very widely rumoured). OBJ was going to be retired. Murtala also suspected OBJ of being a security threat to him (coup). He was to retire OBJ, Danjuma and others on the anniversary of the Gowon coup on the 29th of July 1976. This may seem far fetched, but that was the prevalent rumour at the time. OBJ has always denied these chain of events and successfully drowned out all inquiries until Jonathan reminded OBJ of the past. The question is why did Jonathan bring this up right now, thirty seven years after the event?

Don't worry whether it was written by the pen of Abati or Jonathan, is the content any good? It is devastating. This letter may deny OBJ a state burial. He is accused of being a suspected fraudster during his time overseeing NNPC 2000-2007. There are other incendiary allegations in Jonathan letter. As I have said previously, it is unprecedented. Where are #Occupy Nigeria boys? Go and occupy our property at Ota and Abeokuta, London and Lagos amongst others (with title deed OBJ)

PoliticsRe: President Goodluck Jonathan's Reply To Obasanjo's Letter by callmenow: 11:02pm On Dec 22, 2013
He emphatically said 'Not Guilty, Baba'. Can you not read between the lines. He is effectively saying that he has been a better president in three years than OBJ's eleven years administration. Geddit? OBJ's errant letter was baseless and reckless without evidence. He also warned OBJ about incitement. Every time there has been a coup in Nigeria, that he had made similar comment with untoward consequences. He is raising the alarm that OBJ may be planning to subvert his administration by other 'means'. These are dangerous times. Question is why Jonathan have not arrested OBJ for questioning? The more you read this letter, the more you see .....

Orlando Owoh: Too watery. I only read the President, rather than stating whether or not he is guilty of the allegation of OBJ, he is asking him to provide evidence.
PoliticsRe: President Goodluck Jonathan's Reply To Obasanjo's Letter by callmenow: 10:42pm On Dec 22, 2013
It is demeaning for Jonathan to justify writing this letter. However this response is historic and unprecedented. There is something for everyone. This comprehensive writeup has now lanced the boil which has stultified the Jonathan administration from inception. This response is probably more significant than Iyabo's letter a few days ago. This letter has now answered all the extant questions, which will be the basis of the forthcoming elections. Again there are winners and losers. These saga are also being viewed by the wider world. Jonathan has now effectively exposed Tambuwal, Obasanjo and Sanusi as the fifth columnist in Nigeria. If Sanusi is honorable he must resign for impugning this administration for graft. Tambuwal is now at a crossroad. To stay or to go. Again if he is honorable, he must resign his speaker ship and party membership. As for Obasanjo, he should come out with another 'mea culpa' letter saying that he was misconstrued like Sanusi has submitted. "And as you may recall, a number of Army Generals were to be retired because of corruption before the Dimka coup. Also, the late General Murtala Mohammed himself wanted to retire some top people in his cabinet on corruption-related issues before he was assassinated. " Jonathan really went for Obasanjo here. Reminding him of the corruption allegation against OBJ going back to the seventies. I have always said that Jonathan should fight back, but this more or less a hatchet job. Does Jonathan want to investigate OBJ for 'sins' of the past. As for Fanny kayode, he must remain silent for being a nitwit. Making an allegation, was challenged, he then backed away. NONCE. All the above are some of the losers. Yet the winner is Jonathan administration. Jonathan bashers below have been exposed to what I have always suggested to Abati. Be more transparent. We are seeing improvements, but the vocal minority have drowned all the sane voices. I suggest all the Jonathan bashers should make the following new year (2014) resolution: To think before you speak. Also to work with facts and not innuendos. To be a better citizen and avoid all potential of being a fifth columnist. And finally not be found out like the fifth columnists above. By the way @ilugunboy and @Kairoseki77 are passionate about Jonathan and Nigeria. However, criticize Nigeria less and appreciate Nigeria more.

ilugunboy: Abati signature all written on the letter.

Nothing tangible...just the usual fumbling around with lot of verbose...but lacking in any shred of substance.
Kairoseki77: To be honest, I am disappointed in this response.
1. It is obvious that Abati wrote this letter and not GEJ.
2. I just realized that Jonathan probably isn't smart enough to write this letter. Watch him on TV and he can barely get through a sentence without stuttering or messing up.

Why occupy Nigeria? The agenda for this capricious 'group' needs to be transparent. Just one question. The acquisition of Oil wells in present day Nigeria catapults most Nigerians to the billion dollar status. Why are Abacha cronies, Obasanjo and Babangida cronies allowed to retain their oil wells and fields to the detriment of the masses. What is corruption? People scream ODUAH corruption, whilst ATIKU and family have two oil wells which are worth 5 Billion Dollars. Danjuma has already sold a half share in his Sapetro (sic) for 2 Billion Dollars for his oil fields. Danjuma is even called oil magnate. Mohammed Babangida has concessions worth 3 Billion Big ones. PoliticsRe: Iyabo Obasanjo: Why I Gave Up On My Dad by callmenow: 3:12am On Dec 22, 2013
@Molotov1, the fight against corruption is not a presidential problem. It is a national problem. Nigeria was the epitome of corruption during the OBJ era, such that the likes Alamaiyesa (sic), Orji Kalu, Tinubu and Ibori treated their states like their personal fiefdoms. It got so bad that Foreign powers felt the need to intervene and arrested one or two elected miscreants (what do that say about the electorates of Nigeria?). Nigeria then became a byword for corruption. During OBJ era, Ministers used to go to UK and the US with bags of dollars, even special assistants like Andy Ubah, travels with millions of dollars in cash. Stella Obasanjo used to float around in millions of dollars. Yet during Jonathans last visit to UK, I was also in the UK for a trade conference. Jonathan who always suffers from travel sickness could not hold down his food, so was excused. So he was a no show. There was no birthday party for him either. Yet the ministers were drinking water and orange juice at the venue, which I found to be strange. I felt completely humiliated by two other incidents at the venue of Jonathan's meeting with Investors at London Hilton (Park Lane). On arriving on the second floor, I noticed a heated argument between the High Commissioner of Nigeria (Dr Tafida) and the hotel staff about payment for the event. I had thought the event was being organised by an independent think tank (HIIC). Yet Tafida did not have the money or cheque to tender but promised them he will pay them the money within the week. Then during the meeting with Nigerians in diaspora at 5pm at the same venue, Tafida pleaded with Dr Okojo Iweala to increase their funding, because they do not have any money. Apparently at the top, every Naira must be accounted for and reconciled every month. I spoke to two ministers, including communication who confessed that they can do anything but promise money for any investor. So something is working at last, but not fast enough for the average citizen. I knew Andy Ubah before he became a billionaire. He was just a hustler. Yet he can afford to buy all the the monarchs in Anambra Toyota Jeeps. All his girlfriends mansions. This administration is a work in progress. I will tell you something. I campaigned for Buhari during the last exercise. Jonathans main crimes at the moment is his reluctance to award oil wells to his so called godfathers, which was OBJ ways to share the wealth of the nation. Jonathan's main beef with Amaechi is that he ceded oil wells which Amaechi claims for Rivers to Bayelsa. Nigerians covets rumours and gossips which is why the average person is confused with distorted nonsense from the likes of Fannny Kayode.I sincerely hope that Jonathan will attack corruption until it hurts.

molotov1: Beautifully put, I like the way you make your point and state 'your' facts devoid of sentiment and emotion.

However, no matter how well you think a government has performed or 'not set the country back" as you put it, CORRUPTION or the lack thereof remains the benchmark for progress in the developing world.

Nigeria, as we speak is taking a massive hit from corruption at unprecedented scale. Nigeria is being eaten alive by it or wouldn't you agree ? Isn't there anything that can be done (by the presidency) to curb it ?

OBJ like it or not, like others of his ilk are dinosaurs, clinging to last the last strands of relevance they have left. Although he may have heated up the polity with his epistle, there is very little he can achieve with it on the long term.

Whether he's a hypocrite or not, OBJ will be judged by the contents and intention behind that letter, true or false.

A more honest person would have written, "Dear GEJ, I have ruled, I've made my mistakes. However, you are presently at the controls, please tell us what are your plans are and WHERE ARE YOU TAKING NIGERIA TO ?"

OBJ isn't the threat here, let's not try to use a sentimental approach (like others are trying to do) to obfuscate that fact.
PoliticsRe: Iyabo Obasanjo: Why I Gave Up On My Dad by callmenow: 7:07pm On Dec 21, 2013
It is duplicitous to attack @deletrue for a well reasoned argument. Jonathan has been in power for over three years now. He did not set Nigeria back in the these preceding four years. What any reasonable person in Nigeria and or the western world, expected from Jonathan is to recruit able and capable managers, administrators and technocrats to manage Nigeria and improve Nigeria incrementally by say 3-10% each year, which the available statistics concurs with. The quality of his ministers so far has been second to none. Sanusi is not a Jonathan appointed administrator. He inherited him from the incompetent Yar Adua. He tried to sack him for running a parallel government, but the unnecessary outcry by Sanusi's people forced him to wait until his five year tenure expires next year. NNPC fraud was trumpeted by APC, Sanusi, Tambuwal, Jonathan haters and OBJ. These five leprous fingers of a hand of evil are now experiencing a confusion of their own making. None of them is talking of missing money any longer because Jonathan insisted that the reluctant Sanusi and his co-travellers should reconcile the figures with the agencies concerned. As I write, no money was missing. Yet Jonathan was labelled, 'clueless' 'bleep' by simpletons in this forum. Are you an APC sympathiser who is experiencing a 'tough' week?

molotov1: you're definitely typing from a laptop.
We are talking NEWS not history. Money or no missing money , you got that ? OBJ is history !
who has been in power in the last 4 years missing money or no missing money ?
Was it OBJ ?
Who's is at the helm ? During the scandals and coverups of the previous months and years
Was it OBJ ?
Was Nigeria a paradise before OBJ's letter ?
Madam ( you reason like a woman) I don't care who gave you laptop, you need to think before you open that black hole again and transfer it to post.
PoliticsRe: Iyabo Obasanjo: Why I Gave Up On My Dad by callmenow: 6:49pm On Dec 21, 2013
The fallout from this fracas is huge. APC has been riding high because of the perceived weaknesses in the Jonathan administration orchestrated by OBJ. For the man on the street, who has been wondering what is going on, now knows that OBJ has been going on for far too long in the wrong direction. Jonathan has been distracted by OBJ throughout that this comeuppance from Iyabo has dealt OBJ a knockout blow. Jonathan can now focus on our refulgent economy as well as attack APC and the faceless people behind them. Lets face it, APC has no manifesto, apart from anything but Jonathan, because he is not 'one of them'. APC's momentum has now been punctured. Their showcase visit to OBJ today is no longer what it was meant to be. How APC wishes they could distance themselves from OBJ, with the collateral damage. Mark my words, OBJ and his foot soldiers will not be rushing to offer their irrelevant views in run up to the 'make or break' election which is what the politics is about. Hope this is clear enough for you.

folahann: I have read a lot of posts on this thread and I have seen a lot of people mention APC. Some called the thread an Anti-APC thread. Someone even mentioned APC as a loser because of this letter.

Can someone please analyse how a fall-out between PDP big guns take become APC issue and how it works against them.
