If our leaders truly want us to have 24 hours electricity, they can easily do it. Fashola before 2015 said it was not rocket science and that is the truth. Electricity is a veritable source of looting funds in this country, even with the discos and gencos.

They do not need Germany, China and now Egypt to proffer advices as the leaders are simply crooke. They suffocate this country financially in every area just to steal, send their children abroad and die in pain and regret. The country needs strong institutions to enable us all move forward. The leaders know this, but they will forever subvert it. We have never enjoyed 24 hours electricity since the days of ECN up till today. The moment they stop seeing electricity as their cash cow, then life can be better for all.

We moved from ECN to NEPA to PHCN and then privatization and yet nothing has improved. They raised companies and took over NEPA in the name of privatization. Electricity generation never exceeds 7000MW yet we hear of South Africa talking about 50,000MW and above. We supply electricity to neighboring countries, yet we lack. The sanity of our political leaders needs to be checked.

I truly think this country needs someone in the mould of Flt. Lieutenant Jerry Rawlings to get into power and sanitize this country.
