PoliticsAPC - is this the end of the road? by Cantonese(op):
The formation of the APC is no longer a secret to tell you all. The lies associated with the party is no longer a secret to tell you all.

A few months ago when Chief Oyegun suggested that the congresses should be avoided for one year the governors rejected, fought and removed him. Oshiomole who won the governorship of Edo state as a result of the sentiments and resentment of the people against Jonathan started his reign. Blind leaders of the party felt he was the best candidate and made him the APC chairman (the man who should have been the minister for labour instead). Anyway it was a masterstroke that was supposed to deal with the looming crisis ahead. Little did we know that God had other plans. Look at them dancing to the song of scatter all over Nigeria today. Oshiomole who was busy abusing PDP is now quiet and afraid of the governors that put him there. Even Obaseki is no longer on the same page with him. Massively members are demanding from APC in Edo state and nationwide. The same cup which they used to measure for the PDP in 2015 is now used against them. New parties have sprung up. APC has lost many states and prominent leaders.

God is good oooo. Now everyone is in disarray. Governors who brought him now bow their faces in shame, especially Okorocha. Can APC remain visible before election 2019? I doubt it. Now they fight themselves. Owners of evil load are carrying their loads. Bye bye APC. I don port ooooo. Atikulating.
PoliticsRe: Bianca Ojukwu Insists Apga Must Refund Fees To Aspirants After Botched Primaries by Cantonese: 7:05pm On Oct 24, 2018
Ojeni:
In her latest press statement, Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s former ambassador to Spain, and wife of the late Igbo leader and Supreme leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu berated the APGA party executives following the party’s botched primaries thus:

APGA:HEALING THE WALKING WOUNDED -THE ROAD TO JUSTICE....
Core Deliverables:

Yes, The Party is supreme, but should this really be the case where Equity, good conscience, justice and compassion are thrown to the winds and party members are treated with such rank brutality and impunity by those very leaders whose duty it is to protect them? It is St. Augustine who once said that ‘In the absence of justice, what is Sovereignty but Organized Robbery?’
Any attempts at meaningful reconciliation by the Leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance under whose watch these gross violations occurred must begin with ensuring that justice is delivered to those aspirants who have suffered greatly and have been robbed of their mandate... Those victims who won their primary elections and were duly issued Certificates of Return, only later to have these same Certificates Of Return forcibly taken from them and handed over to the heavy buyers who lost, or even worse, never participated in the primary elections. Equity and good conscience demands that these mandates must be handed back to their rightful owners.
Furthermore, those who superintended over these sham primaries should set an example, if they are truly sincere, by REFUNDING back to aggrieved aspirants the mind boggling sums of money exacted from them for botched and phantom primaries.
Very Importantly, an independent Truth and Justice Committee must be set up urgently to investigate the electoral atrocities that occurred in Imo State and elsewhere, and those responsible should be unveiled.
This is the pathway to justice, and the only way that we can redeem the image of this party, rebuild any confidence in its leadership presently perceived to be compromised, and stem the impending tide of litigations threatening to cripple APGA as we head towards the general elections
Why? This thing pain am well well. So she did not have enough money for election. No be only refund na to give you change. When your in-laws rejected your bid the party supported you. Yeye dey smell.

'I told Oshiomole not to hand over the party to Okorocha because Okorocha is at loggerheads with Imo people and Catholic Church. Even at that he is imposing his Son-in-law from same zone as governor and him for Senate and the other majority part of the state are saying No' - Director General Voice of Nigeria, Chief Osita Okechukwu while speaking to Channels Television Sunrise Daily this morning.

Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr Osita Okechukwu has said that Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha is demarketing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South East region of the country. And that his Greediness is the sole reason the party is mired in Crisis in Imo State.

Throwback:
This is one project I expected Amaechi as a Rivers man who is now Minister for Transport, to complete, and he did not disappoint where Jonathan a SouthSouth man did.

It is a shame that PDP and Jonathan sycophants do not have any shame and want to lay claim to this project that they abandoned, and that was an eyesore to all who landed at that airport tarmac.

I hope the temporary canopies/tents for passengers upon arrival, will now be removed.

Nigerians do not have patience and orderliness as a human trait. Always rushing out of the tent to get their luggage from the trolley, when same luggage ought to be brought inside the tent by the porters, who themselves enjoy such chaos to make some quick bucks from those who are sane enough to remain within the tent. They are eventually paid by passengers for a job they were already employed to do.
Amaechi is not the minister of aviation so your information is wrong. Also Wike will not watch APC take glory in his state bro. It is a PDP project. APC should please leave this country alone. We do not care which party takes over but APC must leave with their lies and bad luck.

APC must apologize to this country for trickishly taking over power when they had no plans. Embezzelment took another style. Lying everyday and violence everywhere. APGA also must apologize to the great people of IMO state for allowing charlatans like Rochas get their tickets.
IMO people too must apologize to Nigerians for believing liars and tricksters. They must rise up in one accord and vote out APC.

Haven been out of power for many years , one would have thought that the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party has learned bitter lessons from the crushing defeat it witnessed in 2015 but from the recent conducts of the party, it seems no lesson was learnt.

So what is the problem?
PoliticsApc Barred Here, Apc Barred There - What is wrong? by Cantonese(op):
It is said 'dog when wan loss e no dey hear im master whistle'. When Oyegun suggested that APC should postpone their congresses, some 'wise'men thought he was being selfish and greedy. Oshiomole, a man who should be the minister for labour, or minister for gutter language was brought in as the chairman. As it is customary with the APC body language, verbal assaults, impunity, violence, lies and deceits took the center stage.

In almost all the states there were too many crisis with the primaries. Money exchanged hands, violence ensured and here they are today.

In Zamfara state APC is barred from presenting candidates. Delta state has followed. Rivers is a mess while Imo state has been lost completely. What remains now for the party? I sincerely hope APC will not try to arm twist INEC to recognise their failed candidates.

The fate of APC in 2019 is getting clearer.

There has been a protest against TSTV and the CEO with some of the protesters claiming it is a fraudulent company. See his reply below
But this does not address the matter. If all issues had not been addressed why did you ask investors to invest. Remember that you kept shifting the launching date and kept failing. Do you understand the word INTERGRITY? Yours has been called to question.

It is the problem of TSTV and the MD. Face it. Even his words are very arrogant and childish. This has nothing to do with made in Nigeria or Chevron, etc. Face your questions. Shut your mouth and do the job. Refund investors money back and keep a clean image.
PoliticsRE-DENOMINATION - revisit to stop looting by Cantonese(op):
Several years ago we had a Central bank governor called Professor Charles Soludo under the PDP government of Obasanjo. He put forward policies that helped stabilize our banks and stop the losses incurred by millions of Nigerians. He introduced coins and proposed re denomination of the naira. With re denomination two zeros from the right would be taken off to strengthen our naira against the dollar and other currencies.

This idea was countered by some economists who believed that it would not work for our economy and politicians. Economists were of the line of thought that it would hurt foreign investors, etc. For many politicians it was a massive disadvantage to them because they had stolen naira in billions hidden in their homes. The fear of Ribadu ensured that such monies could not be taken to banks. So it was that the idea was killed at the assembly by the politicians that included today's APC and PDP members. Even the idea of coins was dismantled.

The question now is whether re denomination is workable in Nigeria. If it is why can't we use it as a tool to curb looting. Can't it be used as a tool to deal with the politicians who have 'banks' in their homes?

PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Economic Woes- Who Is Responsible? by Cantonese: 2:57am On Oct 16, 2018
[quote author=jpphilips post=72118654][color=#000099]A lot have been said about Buhari, how he brought hardship on Nigerians, how he is responsible for all the suffering in Nigeria, is that theory backed with facts and global economic realities or the shenanigans of few individuals basking in the Euphoria of ignorance?
Since I must make a choice between our present loud political gladiators, I armed myself with Economics textbooks and news archive, here is what i discovered.

Nigeria an oil producing and oil dependent economy suffered a global economic hit called crude oil price shock
it is the sudden drop in price of crude oil in the commodity trading market, it has occurred at different times in History nearly every decade. Countries that are hardest hit by crude shock are basically countries that not only produce crude oil in significant amount but solely depend on it as their foreign exchange earner. While oil shocks have asymmetric effects in oil-exporting developing countries; lower oil prices lead to major revenue cuts and ensuing stagnation in the economy, but higher oil prices and accompanying higher revenues do not translate into sustained economic growth.

What are the effects of crude shock in oil producing developing economy?

Forex scarcity: Most developing economies whether oil producing or not depend on importation to survive, where foreign currency becomes scarce, industries, individuals that have significant need for forex will likely close shops giving birth to the second problem unemployment then finally the master Recession.

Unemployment: When industries no longer have forex to buy spare parts, can no longer afford raw materials, production slows, sales slows, profit eroded, workers sacked, since the volume of activities in the economy is directly proportional to the GDP, the GDP contracts and birth another economic monster Recession.

Recession is a chain reaction of unpalatable economic events that shows the economy is not experiencing growth but contracting, lets look at the effects of recession, high energy cost (energy in most developing economies are subsidized one way or another) crude shock and eventually recession erodes government revenues till a point where it could no longer afford subsidies and other things it used to afford.
In Nigeria where our Electricity Generation companies are subsidized, petroleum products are subsidized, you will understand that such partial or complete subsidy removal will quickly skyrocket the cost of living generally, transportation, cost of food etc are equally affected that leads to another monster called Inflation.

Inflation: is defined as a phenomenon where huge bills are in search of few goods, how is that possible? when the industries that produce goods closed down, imports could not be sustained due to Forex shortages where will the goods come from? the absence of those goods while the bills remain triggers inflation, causes hunger and eventually poverty and devaluation of local currency.

Devaluation is when global reserve currencies trade higher than your currency, of course you recall that an economy in crude shock first suffers Forex shortages, that robs the central bank (in the case of Nigeria) the ability to fix the currency at a reasonable exchange rate.
The local currency is allowed to float along a band the cbn thinks may not be too hurtful to the economy.
Forex ban is placed on certain commodities, debit cards like Visa, Mastercard et al are all placed on monthly transaction limits as a reflection of the reality of forex shortages.

Between 2015-2018, all these happened in the Nigerian economy, then I asked "are we the only oil dependent economies in the world? why us alone?
The answer took me to several countries in the world and I realized that other oil producing countries dont depend on oil alone, countries like Russia though the largest producer of crude oil in the world, has a robust defense industry that contribute significantly to its GDP, Russia equally enjoys large market shares in Gas distribution in Eurasia, by the time crude oil shock hit, Russia had over $400b in reserves,
It became clear that the only economic move that could hold off crude oil shock and other global economic shocks is a robust foreign exchange reserves (Savings).

Permit me to take us down our economic history, in 2008 during the global melt down, the then CBN governor prof. Chukwuma Charles soludo bragged that the Nigerian economy is immune to global shocks? That would have sounded ridiculous but it is true, what did he do? they launched an economic strategy called National Economic Empowerment And Development Strategy NEEDS.
This strategy recommended that once crude oil is sold, the balance above the budget benchmark is kept in an account called the ECA, by the time that government left and another took over in 2007, both the ECA & Foreign reserve account held over $68b in reserves, in a $200b economy at the time, that reserve was significant enough to whither any storm that comes the way of our economy, Much later into the crisis, Nigeria later relaxed its exchange rate to 155 to a dollar. now we know that Nigeria had in the past stood resilience in the face of global shocks with a culture of Savings.

Fast forward to 2015, The top four producers of crude oil in Africa by their production, Nigeria, Angola, Algeria and Egypt were all in recession even though Egypt does not significantly depend on oil but her economy was shattered. Algeria escaped recession because by 2014, just like Nigeria in 2008, Algeria had a foreign reserve balance of $90b in a $156.1b economy. You can see that the Robust reserve of Algeria was their savior in this modern crude shock era. The previous administration in Nigeria boasted of leaving behind a paltry $19b for a $500b economy at the time, that amount is not even enough to pay for imports let alone absorb global economic shocks, so Nigeria can be rightly described in late 2014 as an oil dependent economy with no savings. How important is this savings?

Lets take our research to the Second largest producer of crude oil Angola, just like Nigeria with no significant savings, Angola's challenges needs no introduction, let facts speak for itself

Angola suffered severe Forex & currency challenges just like Nigeria. According to Bloomberg
They not only devalued their currency, they equally allowed it to float like Nigeria's

Price growth on a month-on-month basis rose to 1.47 percent in January from 1.2 percent previously.

Poverty in Angola
According to Angola's 2001 MPI, more than 77% of the population was multidimensionally poor. ... The latest available World Bank figure for income poverty in Angola, from 2008, shows that 36.6% of the population is income poor. Angola's population is currently estimated at 29.7 million.

I can go on and on the list is endless, as a matter of undeniable fact, Angola just like Nigeria are the largest producers in Africa, they practically did not save enough and they were hit hard by crude price shock. to balance the analysis, it will be unfair to discuss those that didn't save without giving kudos to those that saved, like i said previously, Algeria save a whooping $90b when the going was good, as such its economy was immune to crude shock.

Russia like we said though had currency challenges during the period under review ostensibly because of western sanctions, Russia had over $400b in reserves by ending of 2014.

Saudi Arabia was immune to crude shock not without little currency & subsidy issues ostensibly because of its huge financing of the war in Yemen, they were sitting on a comfortable $732b by the end of 2014.

Nigerian people, what is your present government doing to stem this tide that has shocked the fabrics of our nation to the Marrow?

(Algerian model)
The moment that money crossed $40b, forex shortages disappeared, importers stopped complaining, debit cards relaxed their limits etc, that was a killer stroke in our economic recovery strategy.inflation has responded to the potency of the EGRP to 11.23% from 18.8%.

Thank God that you clearly informed us that Obasanjo/Atiku did very well between 1999 & 2007 and they saved. At least that is 8 years cut off from the 16 years the APC government accused the PDP of wasting.

Now to the next 8 years ending in 2015. Were you ever informed that current APC ministers who were governors at the time completely disagreed with the president and finance minister regarding saving? The same finance minister served the two governments. Can you remember that Mr. Rotimi Amaechi took the federal government to court? People say the president did not have the political will like Obasanjo. They called Obasanjo 'wicked' while Jonathan was called 'a weakling'. In our country where ethnic sentiments are daily thrown up what could he have done? Governors who decamped from the PDP to the APC cried of marginalization. Today some have returned to the PDP thanking God for their deliverance.

Atiku's businesses folded up. No problem. But how do you compare a man who runs multi billion naira businesses including industries with a man who only understands the voice of cattles, artillery and guns? Haba bros. Clearly my brother you have no argument. This government had no plan on arrival and you know that. I was one of the blinded ones before. Now I see clearly! They were surprised to get there. It took our president several months to get his cabinet. Please always say the truth. Do no use economic jargons to confuse or mesmerise the simple minded.

Anyway the best part for us the citizens is that the politicians make errors that expose them daily, especially those in the APC.

PoliticsSEGUN SOWUNMI - A Masterpiece In The Hands Of Atiku by Cantonese(op):
Did you watch the encounter on Channels tv between Segun Sowunmi and Festus Keyamo? If you did not, kindly look it up in youtube and I bet you that you will have a very great laugh on the one hand and feel a great shame on the other hand.

Now you will feel ashamed and possibly angry as you see Festus Keyamo struggling to even tell lies and defend his paymaster APC/Buhari. As usual you will find the APC shameless old story of how the PDP destroyed the economy. What he talked about he could not substantiate or defend. Suddenly Mr. Keyamo has become an economist. A few months ago he was also on Channels tv debating with Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili and forcing himself to talk about economies which he knew nothing about. Oby Ezekwesili made a mess of him there. When Keyamo was a young lawyer in the chambers of the great Chief Gani Fawehinmi a lot of us had plenty of respect for his likes and others like Tayo Oyetibo. Chief Fawehinmi was called the senior advocate of the masses for all his struggles on the side of the masses ensuring that just as the rich could get their three square meal easily, the poor also could get theirs. They defended the rights of the people against the military and for many of us they could never be faulted. It is said that lawyers are liars but a lot of us tend to disagree with that idea. But to see Mr. Keyamo blatantly lie on tv everytime like this is a monumental disgrace. Nigerians have never witnessed a clueless government like this APC/Buhari's. With all his juicy appointments very clearly Mr. Keyamo fights for his pocket. He should be man enough to bow his face in shame.

On the other hand we saw clearly a very articulate man Mr. Segun Sowunmi who easily picked holes in Keyamo's lies and ridiculed him. The ability of Mr. Abubakar Atiku to pick up great minds and allow them showcase their abilities cannot be faulted. This young man is one of the many in the hands of Mr. Atiku. Where are the young great minds in this APC government.

Keyamo has left his main business (charge and bail) and ventured into politics where he has been offered political appointments. I sincerely hope he understands the way politicians do their things. One day very soon they will leave him hanging out in the dry there, after using him to achieve their dirty plans.

Keyamo talked about BPE and he needs to be reminded that the today's famous El Rufai (formerly in the PDP) was part of it. They are in the same party today (APC).

The roles of Obasanjo and Atiku between 1999 and 2007 must be appreciated. We had great minds in that government like:

the late Dora Akunyili,
Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala,
Chukwuma Charles Soludo,
Oby Ezekwesili,
Nuhu Ribadu (who was fearless and his name struck fear in the mjnds of politicians),
the ungrateful El Rufai, etc.

We have never had any great economic team in this country like that one under the control of Atiku as the chairman. Nigeria prospered. Our deposits became safer in the banks. The EFCC of today was established by the same Obasanjo/Atiku government and Keyamo has been a beneficiary of the EFCC. Under the PDP government he acted as a prosecuting lawyer with the EFCC. He benefitted financially from the PDP. If he has suddenly woken up to say the PDP looted this country then we must ask him his role then.

We need great minds like Mr. Sowunmi in this country and I am very certain that there are countless of them working with Atiku.

With this APC government Nigerians look bewitched. We have Lai(rs) as ministers and everywhere there is trouble, yet people defend this governmemt with hope for a better tomorrow. There is no hope with this kind of government. The time to SAY NO IS NOW. Those who know what to do are either not in the position or have no power or outrightly they are in the very small parties.

Tinubu called the PDP people deceiving people. What can we call the APC today? Who is the deceiver today? It is very clear as of today that the APC is the deceiver.

APC MUST GO AWAY.

Please ATIKULATE today for a better future for Nigeria.

I lost the respect I had for Keyamo ever since he joined the Buhari campaign. I understand he has a responsibility to defend the party he belongs to but nothing stops him from calling his team to order and advising them (especially the president) on how to govern better. The truth is 'Buhari has failed Nigerians' so instead of them to come on air to shamelessly defend themselves and their lies, they should make amends within this short period they have and peacefully hand over to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar come 2019.

Sai Atiku

Pls let us all come out en mass and vote for Atiku next year. Not just supporting online but thumb printing at the polls because that is what counts. Buhari's presidency is an insult on all educated persons in Nigeria. He has no certificate and despite his age, he still has no wisdom.
Hopefully in all these Keyamo will not look back one day and regret venturing into politics. Clearly Keyamo has proven that some lawyers are liars.

KingSango:
Pres. Buhari is my choice because he is a subject of His Majesty Sultan Sokoto who commands the largest army in West Africa. If such as you say, wars are coming, then Nigeria and all of Africa must consider treating their warriors better, military and police. By securing these warriors, giving them more pay, more benefits and assistance for their families. What strengthens the warriors strengthens the Republic and the Monarchy. Nigeria has two forms of rule just like Brittan the former colonizer. Brittan has the parliament and the Monarchy and Nigeria has the Republic and the Traditional Rulers council. Restructuring Nigeria would be the make the Traditional Rulers Council the Judges over the entire state of Nigeria and the head of the council as the President of the Republic. Keeping the Senate and the governors and divided Nigeria into different geographical areas like other restructure models. I would create a regional force gathered from all the West African states that could response to any crisis as a peace keeping force or extraction of any threat to the regional stability. A regional training facility where only the best would be selected among soldiers, command and communications. This now makes the two closer to one and soon all will be closer to one powerful West Africa. What's more is that the political ideological model can be used throughout the region in neighboring nations, even more so, creating of a West Africa council of Tradition Rulers. Africa needs to preserve its original culture and civilization if its going to thrive in the changing of worlds. Change comes gradually yet unfortunately world conditions are about to speed up and the winds of change will be cold. Those who don't prepare will have it tough yet it doesn't mean they won't survive but maybe not. I would prepare the people with by teaching more occult knowledge, more herbal medicine, more raw survival skills, and how to make their own basic needs like shoes, clothes, and finding power sources.
Donald Trump has been the US president for less time than our president. His actions are reverberating around the world. See even North Korea has been whipped into place. The US economy is in a better shape, jobs are created daily. You said "change comes gradually". Do you mean positive change or negative change? With this government it is negative change only continually. The man had no plan at the beginning. He contested for that post for many years without any clear or genuine plan on how to make our society better. Be honest with yourself, how do you feel about the cost of food? If you are a worker with a family of 4 children how do you cope? Remember that in all these troubles salaries still remain where they are. How do you pay your rent, children's school fees and other bills? If you give this government another 4 years this country will be worse for it. Stop them before they stop you. We have had enough. Those with the knowledge to move us forward are unfortunately either not in power/positions or in the wrong parties e.g Dr. Pat Utomi in Delta state.

Atiku may not be that saint that people dream about but he definitely understands what wealth creation means. He understands what job creation means because he is an employer. Our president only understands two things undisputably:

1. Military tactics/war/gun handling/artillery

2. Cattle rearing and crop farming.

Some people camouflaged under him to ruin this country. His wife complained that their change had been hijacked. She complained again last week about the APC primaries. He should go back to his farm.

Please bro I advise you to ATIKULATE now.
PoliticsBUHARI: Better Is A Dry Morsel With Quietness please by Cantonese(op):
"Better is a dry morsel with quietness, than a house full of sacrifices and strife" - Pro 17:1.

What is strife? It is fight, war, crises, bitterness, hatred, anger, killing, evil planning.

Until about 2009 - 2010, we had relative peace in this country throughout all the geo political zones except for the political violence we experienced in a few areas during elections or the threat of the niger delta agitators. By 2011 Jonathan defeated Buhari. ACN fused with CPC, APGA, ANPP, a breakaway faction of PDP and some members of the civil society to form APC. Wahala started everywhere.

APC was founded without any intolerance from Jonathan it became a major opposition party. Starting from its inception, rough and bitter words/threats became the order of the day from APC and its agents. Jonathan handed over power telling us that the blood of Nigerians was not worth his ambition. This was against all advices to use his presidential power.

Today it is a different story. APC has become highly intolerant. They cannot and must not be criticised. There must be no fake news whereas before 2015 and up till today Nigerians have been told uncountable lies and propaganda by the APC. They could not conduct their primaries quietly. They have factions in most states. Crises abound in the land. Our youths are fleeing more out of our beloved country. What you hear is that Buhari has Buharied everything around. Fuel prices shot up, transport prices shot up, food prices shot up.

A few days ago we were told that if we vote PDP in 2019 we will be set back 10 years to 2009. I think it is better then because if we look back into 2009, we will find peace, food prices and fuel much cheaper, etc.

Now I regret voting Buhari in 2011. If we continue with this man when will the suffering and hardship in the land end?

A dry morsel here is likened to ordinary garri. It is better for Nigerians to drink their garri in peace than to accept all the lies, fake news, propaganda and stupid theories of the APC and dailing loss of their livelihood and lives.

Atiku/Obi may have their weaknesses but they are proven in the world of business and sound economic management. For now more qualified candidates are in the small parties and cannot get to the seat of the president. So we MUST vote ATIKU to move this country forward.

I have ATIKULATED. If you have not ported do not delay anymore. Do it today. The politicians have been decamping is search of better deals for themselves, so we have the right to "decamp" from Buhari with our votes and get in the right persons.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Responds To I Go Dye's Accusations by Cantonese: 6:38am On Oct 15, 2018
Ehiscotch:
How intelligent is this?

First, don't dodge . As a VP, you have every right to take blames for bad or good governance.

Second, How do we judge a good economy?

Infrastructure, educational development, balance of trade or GDP, strength of the Naira, ability to pay salaries, Debt.

The Chinese are the fastest growing economy yet they even want to further devalue their currency.

The US has the largest debt in the world (last I checked ) and you do not need to be told about their economic development.

The country Nigeria had a favourable GDP not because of their what GEJ was doing but because of the high oil price thanks to sanctions on Iran etc. So for a while, Nigeria could depend on Oil and what-the-heck we were all comfortable with the economy and felt no need to change power even if we were in over our heads. Any sane country would have quickly diversified its economy - which in my opinion was a terrible thing not to do, like did they (states) expect to share trillions in allocations forever? What was their contigency plan? No savings, just sharing, no upping of the foreign reserves. No INFRASTRUCTURAL PROJECTS . No Improvement in the health sector, educational sector. Just import everything from food to textile to tech . As long as the oil prices stay high which automatically keeps the naira strengthened and inflation manageable, we are good to go; no progress, just stagnancy.

Oh, as you should expect, the oil prices dropped and so did everything else. No more heavy allocations; states couldn't pay salaries. Funds had to be borrowed to pay salaries and salvage the situation, which could only tarry a while.
Even the finance minister knew that an economic recession was looming but in retrospect most Nigerians seem to disagree. Which is funny. All the pointers where there, our reserves were depleted almost to nothing ; money was no longer in circulation.
When the Middle East took advantage of the high oil prices, were was Nigeria?

Now back to Atiku, where is your economic imprint?

I may not agree with several economic policies of this administration but their strides in Agriculture.

The developed won't provide you always with subsidy or grants for you to create, be productive ; all they need is the right policy.

You must not wait for government to give you tools to farm; they could just make it more lucrative by banning or increasing tarrifs on goods you have a higher comparative advantage or capacity to produce.

I need to see some sort of economy blueprint - even just an idea that will come good - and you will have my total support. But do not come and tell me our economy was growing under you, NO! No Power, No Rail, Poor Educational system, We were all just sitting on a ticking bomb.
Great but where is the evidence of imorovement with this Buhari government? If you are a business person then you may just look back to 2015 when Buhari assumed power. For months no cabinet. No economic policy for a man who had been aspiring for several years to become the president. We are still living in the past with stories of how PDP embezzelled. Today more money has been looted than before right in the presence of our intergrity president. There was clearly no plan. I was in a bank in July 2015 to check if I could use my ATM card abroad as usual but I was surprised that even the bank officials were confused about the new instructions that received the previous day from CBN. We could not use our cards or we could just try. There was confusion. Suddenly our currency started to lose value and here we are today.
The origin was a president/party/leaders without a plan. It was first called 'body language'. The rest has become history. Granted that Jonathan's government got irresponsible and did not save. Have you not been told how governors like Amaechi and Fashola vehemently opposed Jonathan/Okonjo Iweala and rejected the plan to save? Do you remember that Fashola promised electricity in six months? Amaechi was a PA to Victor Odili the then governor of rivers state between 1999 and 2007. Today he is stupendously wealthy. Did he show us any factory or business that he built before he became the governor? Can he clearly give us a history of the source of his stupendous wealth? They are all in this government including former PDP governors and leaders who made life difficult for Jonathan. At least we have a history of Atiku's wealth. Even if he looted, he still applied his loot in his country creating wealth for the youths directly and indirectly.
Where are the legacies of this government. Abacha wealth is used to do the social intervention programme and do you know that a lot of it has been embezzelled again. We have cases of people in charge of supplied at the IDP camps who embezzelled the funds and sold the foodstuff. Why won't they try to dredge the Niger and let the people remain happily in their communities? If they have done anything about agriculture like you said where is the impact? Have you checked the prices of food items farmed in our own country? Even as the president is a livestock/crop farmer? Even if there will be any impact what did he do about his own tribe who ravaged peoples farms, destroying crops and killing people?
It was the sentiments of the citizens that brought in APC in 2015 when they wanted anybody but Jonathan. Now it must not be the same. That is what we are saying. We want people who have proven records of creating jobs, clear methods of wealth generation, clear plans with the thoughts of Nigerians in their hearts.
What we are saying is that we do not want charmeleons and bitter people as leaders. Are there no corrupt persons in the APC? Buhari knows that. Even he is a beneficiary of their corrupt practices. They used looted wealth to get him there. They will use looted wealth at the polls next year in an attempt to keep him and indirectly hold in to power.
What we are saying is that Buhari/APC must go.
I advise you to ATIKULATE. El Rufai and the rest will be eternally grateful to him for bringing them up. We have other great minds who need to get into the system. Atiku will provide the opportunity for them. They will not be muzzled by the political class. The USA economy is growing again today because a wealthy big businessman became the president. Please ATIKULATE today so that we can move forward.

Idokojimmy:
No father would pray for a dangerous overtaking, built on betrayal. No doubt, his father brought him to power, but becoming over ambitious and stabbing him on the back is like forcing your father to dance naked in the market square.

If he learned from his father, he should have understood the power of persuasion. his father used persuasion to sustain his reign. He should have used the same tactics to discourage the father from fielding his sister as his successor. Saraki was not against taking over his sister's place in the Senate, but he was against her taking over his place as the governor. What a double standard.

He betrayed Jonathan, today he is on his knees begging him for support.

Lets wait to see how developments unfold
That is why some people are players while others are spectators. In the game of power you must not be a spectator. Saraki understands the rules very well . He may kneel to beg with the understanding that the gesture is able to change the political equation. Obasanjo as the president knelt to beg Atiku in 2003 as witnssed and informed to the public by the respected Wole Soyinka. Today we find the same Atiku more than kneeling to beg Obasanjo just to get to that office. In the game of politics and power, backstabbing in allowed. That is why you find friends in different camps and enemies in the same camp. Interest is the name of the business. Permanent friends and permanent enemies will get you no where. Sentiments will keep you stagnated. If Bola Tinubu was sentimental in 2003 Obasanjo would have swept him away and he did to other governors then in 2003. They reconciled and removed Jonathan. Tinubu called Obasanjo a father. What has happened to that father/son relationship today? Interests took over and they are in different camps again. Look at Katsina state, two brothers contested for the available senatorial seat two months ago under the APC and PDP. APC won and was sworn in on tuesday 09/10/2018. In Yobe state last week in the APC primaries the former governor's wife and his own son fought for the HOA ticket. No one stepped down, the same household and the stepmum won. That is the game of power for you. No one wants to be a loser. Where is Gbemisola Saraki today? She sentimentally and with due respect hid under her father and power eroded her. She is in the opposition today believing that is the way forward for her and she may possibly snatch power from her brother to pay him back. I tell you, it does not stop them from being who they are - sibblings.
PoliticsROTIMI AMAECHI PLEASE SHUT YOUR YEYE MOUTH by Cantonese(op):
It is a shame to have people like Rotimi Amaechi in Nigeria who hold such sensitive positions. Has the minister of transport suddenly become the minister for power? Before this government came to power Mr. Fashola boasted how we could have 24/7 electricity is 6 months. APC and Fashola totally failed. Now Rotimi Amaechi last wednesday promised again that if Buhari is re elected Nigerians will have 24/7 electricity. If we have not had light 24/7 since May 29, 2015 up till today and with 3,000 megawatts out of a minimum 20,000 which magic will change the situation? I thought we had only Mr. Lai as the serial (make I no mention) in this country? In over 3 years what can he claim he has done to fix land and sea transport? Who is in charge of our water ways? What has changed about the dredging of river niger as a way of flood control?
Nigeria has never witnessed such level of Lai(s) and Lai(rs) as we have been withnessing with this APC government. Even the ones we thought were decent like Festus Keyamo who joined them have become pathetic Lai(rs).
