Reference: Have you seen anyone interested in that? I suppose I'm the only one now. That's why I didn't vote in the last general election. Politicians are just about devising ways to buy people's vote. I will only vote between candidates that debate one another. That's the only way my people can make informed decisions. |

I hope there will be electoral debates. It's very important so that electorates can make informed decisions not the usual jamboree, carnival or the recent town hall discussion. We want Electoral debate please. |

Berrityga: So green and white nah design Goff unah mind?? Nigerias flag has no design bro. Gen Z, the design is beyond the plain colour. It is symbolic. It's more about what it represents and the story behind it. That flag was selected from over 2000 submissions to the British council to replace the Union Jack. |
Education › Re: How Private School Owners In Nigeria Deprive Their Teachers Of Rest by CaptainFM1: 6:30pm On Aug 29, 2023 |
Rapmoney: It seems as if private school owners in Nigeria belong to a secret cult that is hidden from the public, and which is different from the usual private school owners association that we know of. It's as if anyone who opens a school is forced to join this 'evil association' with utmost alacrity. Why do I feel so? There is a laid down pattern which almost everyone of them follows. To suck you, use you and drain the youthfulness out of your soul.
All over the world, July/August is usually a long holiday when teachers take out time to rest, go on vacations or engage in acquiring new skills that could even be outside their field. What we usually observe in Nigeria is different from this. In Nigeria, it is a time where school owners engage teachers in fruitless and vain holiday lesson just to suck money from gullible parents and prevent the teachers from engaging in other endeavours that can improve their lives and wellbeing.
If you're a young person and you work in a private school, I beg you, have different plans for yourself and set targets for the duration you wish to work in the school, if you don't want your life to become wasted. There is no career growth in Nigerian private schools. The highest that will be offered you when you work for 10/12 years is the post of a principal/headmaster/headmistress and with a salary of 70k - 80k. After that, what happens? Of course, you can't be promoted to occupy the school owner's position.
Don't get me wrong. I am not saying that working in a private school is bad. What I am saying is that as a young person, don't stay too long on the job. Lest you waste your life.
Dem say 'dey do am till better job come, dey do am till better job come, na so Brother Okrimona take turn 58 years for inside teaching job. You cannot quantify/estimate the value of the knowledge and experience you will get there until you open your own school. No knowledge is a waste. Having said that, I suppose the teachers would be paid also for the holiday coaching services. |

Truvelisback: Nobody vex me ooo. I just noticed that kids of this century have lost it. Although, I don't blame them, I blame the parents. Awful things we couldn't do as kids in our time are what nowadays kids are doing and it's really astonishing. It's a cascading effect. The government failed the society, the society failed the parents, the parents failed the children, the children will probably fail the future generations too. Unless changes start from the top, the level of rot in our social political life cannot be addressed. |

We carry orijo and everyone in the class score 100/100 in an objective test. And the orijo na that wooden yellow ruler we used. Bullet proof orijo wey no invigilator go code.
As the wooden ruler dey calibrated already, we just use the numbers on it as the questions number in multiple of 10. The first millimeter is (a), 2nd is (b) 3rd is (c), 4th is (d) while 5th is (e).
On each question, we just use needle or any sharp object to punch the appropriate scale corresponding to the answer.
Nobody suspect anything, 1hr paper, we were done in 20mins. |
Family › Re: Should Nigeria Limit Children Born Into Each Family In This Economy? by CaptainFM1: 6:53am On Aug 28, 2023 |
We are very wasteful in this country. First, we need to scrap the House of Representatives. A monocamera legislature is enough.
The President, Governor and Ministers should not have more than 12 advicers. Anything beyond 12, he/she can pay the extra from personal income.
When we've addressed all our unnecessary spendings and wasteful governance structure, there won't be any need to limit child bearing. |

The opposite is what I'm experiencing here. Virtually all my friends have Japa to various part of the world. I don't feel lonely because of the community system we embraced here in Nigeria. Instead all my friends overseas are feeling lonely and bored. They will engage me on long WhatsApp group video call almost everyday. And somehow, I'm getting tired of these their calls. Nigeria bad, Nigeria bad, there's always that home feeling Nigeria offers that they can't get over there. |

Every concerned Nigerians should put some pressure on CSU. If the court approves the release, then it's not in CSU position not Tinubu's position to stop it.
Every Nigerians must understand that it is the president of over 200millions we are talking about and they should all come out to demand CSU to do the needful! |
Politics › Re: 'It’s Too Late For Atiku To Use Chicago University Records Against Me', Tinubu by CaptainFM1: 7:38pm On Aug 26, 2023 |
festacman: Tinubu's life has been magical, to say the least. There are too many questionable gaps but somehow he managed to fill them up anyways, escaping ambushes laid for him and stepping on stones thrown at him to rise and to keep moving forth.
From peasantry background in Osun State, he somehow ended up a Tinubu in Lagos and made it to US. From an anonymous background, he cowed both Obasanjo's onslaught and political dynasties to build a very expansive political structure across Nigeria. From poverty-stricken background, he took advantage of both legitimate and illegitimate opportunities to become wealthy.
Today, he is the president and the face of Nigeria after defying Buhari's amateurish opposition and following a highly controversial election in which his opponents chose to divide themselves into units rather than unite as a whole.
Look, if he survives the ongoing knotty legal onslaughts both home and abroad, I will move a motion for a bunch of sweet-smelling rose flower to be given to him because omor, what a ride it would been for him.

What a terrible end for the doomed passengers watching themselves helplessly to their own deaths because of pilots errors. Worst is the pilot should have listened to his first Officer and abort the takeoff.
A Concorde that never had any fatality over 20 years of its beautiful existence suddenly had one! And that kill the future prospect & advancement of aviation science in that line. What a sad end for the Concorde.

OtunbaJ: FCT minister is equivalent to a Mayor, at least he got something what did ur candidate get ok. broda ode You are even belittling and also amplifying Wike's mockery the more by equating him to a Mayor. Seems you don't know a Mayor has less power and less responsibilities compare to a Governor. So, now as a former governor controlling a state, he's now taking up a Mayoral position controlling a municipal/town/city which are subset of a state! What a joke! By the way, Who's my candidate? I can never vote in any election which contestants refuse to debate each other. As an informed audience, I need all the parties to have series of debates even before their primaries which no single party did. All we do in Nigeria are Jamborees and Carnivals rather than instituting proper selection & election processes. To make it even worse, we have now downgraded "Electoral debate" to a "Town Hall" discussion. I can never vote in such a situation Sir/Ma. No single candidate pitch himself/herself out. It is all noise and rally and fun fare and carnivals they do prior to elections. I consider that style as hoodwinking the electorates. |
