Politics › Re: Sit At Home: Why Has Nigerian Government Failed To Arrest Simon Ekpa? by casualobserver:
Penguin2:
It’s easy for some characters who wish to see southeast burn, to sit on Nairaland and gloat about what is going on in Southeast.

But what these guys have failed to acknowledge is the fact that Igbos are not in support of Simon Ekpa and his rogue activities.

The parent group, IPOB, has severally denied association with this character. But haters will always paint the picture as if Igbos are in support of these criminals.

The question now, why has the Nigerian government that haunted Nnamdi Kanu all over the world until they arrested him in Kenya, failed to lift a finger towards the arrest of Simon Ekpa?

Could Ekpa be working for some anti-Southeast agents?

Can any of those gloating about sit at homes in the East point to a single Igbo supporter of Simon Ekpa?

https://twitter.com/General_Oluchi/status/1679820380830154752
Nnamdi Kanu specifically said his followers should take instructions from Ekpa if anything happens to him. We are not fools. You people always try to redefine the conversation whenever your Ill advised actions backfire as they always do.

Nobody wants the SE to burn, whatever happens i. he SE does not affect the lives of the rest of Nigeria as you can see from the civil war and now. If anything we want the SE to be peaceful so you people will stop migrating and causing problems in our lands.

life saver for how long?

People are thrown into poverty that will take years to correct, that's if it will ever be corrected, and you're talking about life saver for 6months. What can 8k do for a family of 3 in a month?

Sometimes I puzzle at the decisions our govt make. What happens to boosting rural electrification with such money? That 500bn will provide at least 10 transformers for each local govt in Nigeria. And directly improve rural Electicity. With improved Electicity most homes will be better off, than sharing 8k that won't even get to the actual poor.
Can you read? Do you have a problem with English comprehension? I clearly stated I don’t believe in giving people money and creating a culture of dependency and I believe the money is better spent on things that will last beyond 6 months. However I did say that to many Nigerians N8000 is a life saver. There is an ex staff of mine who is always texting asking for money. I once sent her N20k and N10k on 2 other occasions. She lives somewhere in Kogi. She is a single mother and she struggles to pay her childrens fees. After a while I thought to myself this girl is taking the piss and started to ignore her, I even blocked her, she will text or call me on another number, I will block the number she will come again with a different number. One day she sent a txt saying she hasn’t eating for 3 days and that if all I send is N1000 she will be grateful. All that effort for N1,000!!! I learnt from that there are people suffering for whom N8000 is a lot of money even if only for a little while.

Nigerians have such a fundamental issue with English that you cannot comprehend while that I believe the money is better spent but that it will help a lot of people?

Govt is saving over 400b a month from subsidy withdrawal, spending N500b of that for short term relief still leaves over N4 trillion a year to spend on long term projects like you mentioned.

The judiciary is now a supermarket...Just go in and buy your judgement.
People naturally follow in the footsteps of their parents because it is what they know. It is not unusual for Children of business men become business men, children of doctors become doctors, etc etc. There are children of lawyers/doctors/academics where all the children are lawyers/doctors/academics.

So because one’s father is a successful businessman/ doctor/lawyer/politician he should be denied the opportunity to reach the peak of his career if he has worked for it?

So a child of a successful man should be cursed because his father reached the peak of his career? So Dangote or Adenuga’s children should not become billionaires?

You are disconnected from reality. The N8000 is not meant for people like you. There are people for whom N2000 is a life saver.

I personally believe the money should be spent differently on things that will last beyond 6 months but there are a lot of people for whom N8000 is a life saver.

Sometimes I wonder how you people read and understand. Can't you see that Obi's write up already condemned Simon Ekpa?
Indulge me and post where he did. Because his Twitter post that I read he didn’t even acknowledge there was insecurity in the SE. he specifically made a deliberate distinction between insecurity in the North central and disruption of business and social activities in the SE.

You are waiting for Tinubu to condemn? Condemn so you can attack him like you attacked Buhari? Who loses if he doesn’t condemn. Does what is going on in the SE affect the revenue of Nigeria, food or commerce? NO! Meanwhile if he acts or talks you are the same people that will condemn him so why should he? Nigeria is not losing anything by what is going on in the SE. govt revenue, food and commerce are not affected. So nobody is going to act unless they have the backing of Ibo elites.

When you are ready to bring peace to your land you will do the needful.

Spokesman for IPOB.
I previously said this man won’t get 4m votes in 2027, as only Ibos will vote for him. I’m beginning to doubt he will get 3m. Each time he opens his mouth he exposes his bigotry. At the rate he talks and the foolishness of his utterances even sensible Ibos will abandon him.

You are right, as smart as Awo was, he didnt fully understand the effect of Nigeria's diversity on his political ambition. In 1979, he picked Umeadi Philip, a christian Igbo as his running mate.
He picked Umeadi because Zik assured him he wasn’t going to contest. Only for Zik to contest after Awo had picked an Ibo man as VP thus depriving him the option of choosing a Northerner and the chance to get votes in the North. Zik also double crossed Waziri Mohammed who together with Zik had initially formed NPP with the understanding that Zik wasn’t running for presidency. That was why Waziri dumped NPP and formed the GNPP.

The majority of them can’t be trusted.

Your number one is not true. You should know there's a difference between civil service and political officers. Civil service then was based in what is called quota system. The rest about regrets is very true.

2. Read the link you posted and show where the man buttressed your claim. Na wa o
Your problem is a lack of history in schools. Civil service was very powerful in Nigeria until the Muritala regime civil servants were more powerful than ministers because the civil servants were career professionals with assured tenure and you can’t do anything without their approval . If they don’t approve your plan, your plan is dead.. It was the Muritala regime that killed the civil service. Now civil servants take orders from politicians. There was no quota system until the 1970s after the civil war.

My advice to you is to just keep quiet before you expose your ignorance further.

This your version get as it be o. Who appoints cabinet members in a parliamentary govt?
You're bereft of the true events.
And Awolowo never said what you claimed. If you can show proof he ever says that I'll accept your claim.
Awolowo always recognised the north as the feudalistic, backward region they were.
What he wanted to avoid is what you're suffering today. After eight years of northern control, the country is an unmitigated disaster. The question now is if getting power is worth all the disaster you have in ground.
1. The reason Zik went for coalition with Balewa as opposed to Awo was because they thought that being more educated than the north at the time they would dominate the civil service which is really where the power is. BTW many who advised him not to Align with Awo went on to admit their regret.

https://saharareporters.com/2021/10/06/flashback-i-regret-advising-azikiwe-not-join-forces-awolowo-–-former-eastern-premier

2. That you don’t know that Awo made that remark shows how little you know and why you shouldn’t comment on things you do not know..it is common knowledge.

IPOB has said countless times they're not responsible for the insecurity in the SE. They have also publicly disassociated from Simon Ekpa.
So who is sponsoring Simon Ekpa and his boys? Isn't it surprising that the FG and Nigeria Army have never condemned Simon Ekpa and call for his arrest the same way they did to Nnamdi Kanu?

Who is sponsoring Simon Ekpa? Someone isn't telling the truth
Why is Obi unwilling to condemn Simon Ekpa?

And some foolish people think they can deceive Tinubu to release Kanu? If you want to save your region you better start to denounce him so your people know because the mess you created in your region, it is with your own hands you will solve it. Apart from the fact that Tinubu is too smart for that, this is the same Kanu that ordered that Tinubu’s buildings in Lagos be burnt down. In fact TVC was burnt on Kanus orders.

Azikiwe that did mumu for them? How did it end? Tinubu was just lucky he dealt with Buhari who was not really up there in terms of political brinkmanship
Ibos always want to be too clever by halves. They were not patient….they never are which is why they always lose out in politics. They thought they could dominate by appointing qualified Ibos to prominent positions but the North are the masters of politics. When their polar did not work, they staged a coup and told Zik to go on extended holiday. Tinubu was patient he waited did not disturb the North while they were in power like Zik and ibos in the coalition and he was rewarded….Tinubu is president because of the North. Awo reportedly said before he died that what Nigeria needed was an alliance between the SW and the North. He realized the Ibos cannot be trusted. This is what Akintola told him that caused their rift and his exit from AG. Vilified as he was, Akintola was right, ibos cannot be trusted. The irony is the Awo that was seeking alliance with the SE was backstabbed vilified and continues to be vilified by the Ibos. Awo was a great visionary administrator but he wasn’t a great politician.

It does not matter, What is shows is why no one cares about what is going on the the SE. it has no economic effect on the rest of Nigeria. Just like the civil war had little effect on the lives of the rest of Nigeria. It neither contributes significantly in terms of commerce agriculture or revenue. It only goes to show that Ibos need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs the SE. Point is when Ibos are ready to save their land, their land will be saved. They caused the trouble, they will solve the problem they created. In the mean time they can continue to think they are fooling Nigerians by talking about releasing Kanu. No government releases terrorists.

Ibos play a big role in the economy of Nigeria outside of the SE but the SE contribution to the Nigerian economy is negligible. Only Ibos can save the SE. nobody is ready to play the mind games you are playing with IPOB of pretending you don’t support IPOB but refusing to condemn IPOB. When you are ready to save your land, let us know. Soldiers are ready!!! In fact soldiers are not needed. All that is required is for your elites and the political class to publicly denounce IPOB and EKPA to your people. Nobody is buying all this cunny man nonsense of not condemning what is going on and asking to release Kanu or blaming the violence on the arrest of Kanu. The violence persists because your people see that you continue to fight for Kanu and refuse to condemn him, IPOB or Ekpa!!!

The 6m votes he got was because he hadn’t had enough exposure to the Nigerian public. Now that people are seeing his true nature, he won’t get 4m in 2027. Only his fellow bigots will vote for him.

If he had any sense he would stop talking but his need to be in the public consciousness will be his undoing. For instance, once you start commenting or tweeting on everything it then becomes noticeable that you dont comment on happenings in the SE. This in itself says a lot. You communicate by what you say and what you dont say. The reason people are dragging Obykewsilli for instance is that she never comments on happenings in SE but is quick to comment of events outside the SE so to people from outside the SE who had put her on a pedestal she has lost a lot of credibility. Same will happen to Obi. You either comment on everything or you shut up on everything. other wise even your contratulations start to look fake....people are not stupid. You cannot be congratulating one Oba in the SW or one Emir in the North but keep mute on sit at home in the SE....people are not stupid, the youth who added the 2m votes to the ibo 4m are not stupid.

They say it is better to keep quiet and people suspect or think of you a fool (in this case bigot) than to open your mouth and to have it confirmed.
