segtech68:“Hello dear, I am not doing court marriage.” If she doesn’t agree let her go. Don’t get into a legal arrangement In which both of you are not in agreement. If she is not ok she will walk, so why should you agree to something you are not ok with? |
PHIPEX:and what is the interest rate on Eurobonds? First of all governments cannot convert forex at the parralel market rate. After all your conversion, how much did capital equipment (most of which is imported) cost in 2014, how much does it cost now? |
PHIPEX:2015? 1 year? And you think you have just posted something intelligent? Is savings just for 1 year? Did thee interest from savings exceed inflation in 2015? Like I said stick to matters you have expertise like Nollywood and BBNaija not economics on which you are clearly clueless. This thing is above your pay grade!! I asked you a question if you saved your money from 2013 can you buy the same items today with your capital and interest? It’s a simple yes or no! That is the ultimate test of savings in Nigeria. If your purchasing power is less then you have lost value by saving. The point of saving is the increase purchasing power in future not to reduce it. If inflation is higher than your return on your savings you are losing money. This is economics 101. Therefore only a fool or an ignoramus saves when the savings rate is less than inflation rate. Only a compound fool goes ahead to brag about saving not realizing he is losing wealth. |
PHIPEX:You are clearly not intelligent emlnough to understand the subject matter. Nigeria has always had high inflation …always! There are periods when it has been extraordinarily high but inflation in Nigeria has always been high. That’s why if you have a road, school or hospital to build, you do it when you have the mo net instead of saving because if you delay it will cost you more and you will lose the benefit of saving. Saving omakes sense 1) when you don’t have any critical projects to execute and 2) the interest from savings exceeds the inflation. A brand new corrola was N5m in 2013. If you put that N5m in the bank and earned interest for 9 years can you buy a brand new corrola today? The answer is No!! Similarly if you could build a school for 100m in 2014 but decided to save the money, not only can you not build the same school today despite all the interest, you’ve denied the people the benefit of a new school for 9 years and now despite all the saving you can’t even build a school. Savings only works in an environment where inflation is below the rate of return for savings. That is why I say Obi doesn’t understand economics!!! |
newnet:So we shouldn’t vote for anybody? |
owobokiri:If I were you I would be worried about the many things Obi does not understand like economics and governance. Saving money in an era of galloping inflation. is not good governance when there is infrastucture deficit and poverty. That you don’t steal does not mean you are competent. |
Akwaokukuo:are you crazy? |
Kingsley34:You are a fool! It is a well known adage in Politics. When his people were busy insulting others he didn’t complain, when it came to his turn he starts to. Cry on TV. That’s the life of a Politician. If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen. |
There is a well known adage in politics……If you don’t want to know your family history, including your mother’s ex boyfriends don’t enter politics. |
Fine, we don hear! On a serious note which one is British govt inviting Nigerian candidates? Who do they think they are? This applies to all the main contenders, do they invite candidates from USA, France or germany when they are conducting elections? We need to have some self respect as a country. |
those who know Obasanjo like we know him in the SW know this to be true. Obasanjo will never endorse anyone he thinks will surpass him. let us examine the presidents obasanjo has endorsed in the past Shagari, Yaradua, Jonathan, Buhari and those he has failed to endorse. Awolowo, Abiola, Tinubu. There is a common denominator with those he endorsed. weak or failures and a common thread with those he failed to endorse....likely to surpass him if given the opportunity. |
Esseite:It’s there NNamdi Okonkwo (MD of fidelity) fingered him in the scandal. I could equally say EFCC investigated Tinubu tirelessly and found nothing that could stick. The difference between you and I is I don’t pretend because they couldn’t pin anything on him that he is a saint. |
Esseite:Who instruct MD of fidelity bank to go and collect money from Diezani? https://igberetvnews.com/4451/just-in-diezani_115-fraud-efcc-set-to-invite-peter-obi/#forward
|
OldNairalander:He didn’t make any blunder. Kwakwanso wants to be president not Vice President. You could also argue Obi made a blunder by not staying in PDP or not agreeing to be VP to Kwakwanso. At the end of the day both wanted presidency not vice presidency, at the end of the day neither of them will become President. |
Fibonacci88:delusional |
jojothaiv:No the problem with many Nigerians is they don’t understand the constitution. All Obas and Kings are EMPLOYEES of the governor! In fact all kings need permission from the local govt chairman to leave their “kingdoms”. So if you are a chief in a kingdom i.e you are a chief to a King that is an employee to a governor. How can you disrespect the king’s employer? Who pays salaries of Kings? Who appoints them? Who has the power to remove them? Who removed Sanusi? Nigerians dont understand that all kings in Nigeria were defeated by the British and became their employees and when independence came the new premiers/governors inherited them as employees to do their bidding!!! There is nothing like “kingdom” in Nigeria anymore, they are mere ceremonial employees of the state!! That’s why there is always a state ministry of local govt and chieftancy affairs. |
Blaze14k:But yet you go ahead and quote me. Tip: next time you want to end a conversation with someone just stop responding!!! |
Blaze14k:you = Ibos. All you have to do is stop quoting me. |
Blaze14k:I don’t care where you are or what happens to you. If a credible Ibo president becomes available I will vote for him because he is credible not because he is Ibo. As far as the Ibos, I don’t give 2 bleeps!!!! When they start behaving right, then maybe I will start to care. I don’t forget that the country is where it is because of Ibos or that you have spent the last 7 years insulting anybody and everybody! |
Blaze14k:I thought you said you were done and weren’t going to respond? What does Christianity have to do with anything? We are dealing with real issues here. States have no powers, states don’t tcontrol their resources, vat on beer is shared to states that destroy beer, armed services are controlled by the North. Civil war may be over but the repercussions are not. So when those who instigated the coup and the civil war behave in a manner that show they have not learnt from their mistakes and do t realizes the repercussions on the rest of us, we are right to remind them. The western region was one of the most advancing economies in the world until the Ibos struck and the consequences of that (to prevent a re occurrence) were a centralized controlled economy, removal of the autonomy of regions that has stifled us. So I make no apologies when I see Ibos harbouring the same me me me mindset that has caused the economic trajectory of the country to be derailed for 60 years just so as to make sure I is don’t have the opportunity to do what comes naturally to them!!! Like I said the. Notth isnt afraid of Biafra, the north doesn’t care about oil, they have more minerals than any region of the country. The reason they won’t let you go and by extension the reason we are also stuck is because having killed Sardauna and Balewa the north has no natural unifying political leader and the North will also disintegrate. We are all suffering for your misadventures and it is quite frankly annoying that 60 years later you have not learnt anything!!!! Trust me, the rest of the country are tired of your antics and are happy to let you go. You gain more from Nigeria than the rest of us do! We will be ok In the SW, the SS have oil, there is an abundance of farmland and minerals in the North but the North that are scared of disintegration, contrary to popular opinion the north is not one!!! That’s the only reason. But while we are together we are getting tired of your antics and dont care to pander to you anymore. Like I said even PDP your traditional Allies said FU!!!! |
Blaze14k:Therein lies your problem. Sometimes you listen and digest and don’t reply. The facts on ground show nobody has burn the country down because they lost an election except. The Ibos. You’ve already bleeped up the country, you bleeped it up in 1966/67 and we are all liblving with the consequences, so all this talk of price of petrol blah blah is bolting the barn after the horse has escaped!!!! Instead of you to see where you went wrong and that you are still doing the same thing you are still blaming pointing fingers. Your first post was pointing fingers blaming others, your last post was same……you never learn, and that is the problem with Nigeria and why we will always be bleeped!!!! Because we live with a disagreeable group of people who will never allow peace and trust unless they get their way and if they are given their way the 1st thing they do is to eliminate others. Can’t move forward can’t retrace out steps so we are all condemned to a future of mediocrity. The gift of the Ibos to Nigeria and nationhood!!! BTW you made yourselves slaves if that is how you see it because that is what you planned for others….you are the ones who enacted the laws that binds all of us into Nigeria. |
Blaze14k:You have played your cards and it has backfired. I don’t need you, Ibos need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs Ibos. You neither have the land or the market to be successful considering your population. Unfortunately for you Ibos, through your own hands you have checkmated yourselves by removing right to referendum when you were In power and thought you would rule forever. You also abused power and staged a coup when you had arms under your control so no one trusts you to head the armed forces or any arrangement that will give you the license to acquire arms because we know how you will use them when you don’t have your way. The North who never wanted to be part of Nigeria will not give you that referendum because having killed their leaders which United the North, they can’t afford a referendum not for the reasons you think (I.e Oil) but because that is the only thing keeping thee North together. So as you can see once again you created your own problem. ….but you still haven’t learnt! All this temporary lull because Obi is contesting. But. we shall see the real Ibos come February…a leopard does not change its spots. It is not for me or Nigeria to show remorse, it is for the Ibos to show remorse…..that’s the point. You are still going around with the mindset that led to 1966. A mindset of “you must do what we want or we cause problems” not a mindset of building bridges. 62yrs of independence, there has never been an elected Ibo executive head of govt…..because you don’t know how to play politics. And what is politics? Politics is about people…getting along with and accommodating others…..and therein lies the problem with Ibos which is why they never succeed in politics. The Ibo always puts himself 1st. You will never succeed politically especially as a minority if you are always pointing fingers putting yourselves first. Politics is about trust!!! Ibo need to build trust and less pointing fingers, less blaming. The rest of the country has called your bluff and is ready to move on politically with or without you. The fact that Apc has linked up with the North and the PDP disregarded their power sharing arrangement, should tell you people are tired of your antics and mindset and don’t care if an Ibo never becomes president until you show you are truly Nigerians not Ibos. |
Blaze14k:We cannot let go of the past 1) because you have not learnt lessons from your misadventures, you are still doing the same things you did in the 1960s. Pointing fingers at everyone else but yourselves. 2) he who does not learn the lessons of the past is bound to repeat the past as we are witnessing. The no1 cause of friction in this country are the Ibos. If they don’t have their way they burn down the house. History has shown this and we will see what happens in February. This is what you do, even your original post was about blaming others, pointing fingers for things which you are the most guilty. Today Obi is running for presidency you are suddenly talking of national unity, 1 year ago and for the last 7 years you were all here talking of Biafra, Afonjas and abusing the North. Come February you’ll be back to default mode, rallying behind Simon Ekpa!!! That’s Ibos for you!!! |
Dshocker:You’ll be shocked!!! How much is a bottle of coke from the factory as a distributor, how much does the distributor sell to the retailer, how many times does the distributor supply the retailer in a month? If all you make as a distributor is 2% and you do that every week, you have made 10% in a month! The more one engages you people the more your financial illiteracy becomes very apparent!! |
Penguin2:Obasanjo has never been accepted or revered by his people for one! |
Blaze14k:Ibos are not in a position to criticize any tribe over violence or hate speech. You introduced in into our psyche in 1966 and you still have not learnt. Our problems in this country started in 1966 and are a result of the actions taken as a result of what happened in 1966. Everything that is wrong with this country can be traced to Jan 1966!!! My post was not not attack on Ibos but Ibos are not in a position to criticize any tribe in this country. However if you want to go down that route, until Peter Obi came along 6 months ago all we have endured for the last 7 years are insults and violence from Ibos. Ibos are not in a position to lecture anyone about national unity. You are the no 1 cause of national disunity throughout the history of this country since 1960!!! You will be back with your hate speeches and violence come Feb when Obi loses. A leopard cannot change its spots!!! In Feb, Hausa, yoruba and Ibo are on the ballot. If Atiku loses nothing will happen, if Tinubu loses nothing will happen but watch what will happen when Obi loses. |
Peter Obi has not made any statement. He is merely a vessel of frustrations. It is the youth and the Ibos that have made a statement. If anything it is precisely because Peter Obi is the vessel that Tinubu will become president. Peter Obi is not marketable outside that demographic. Peter O I is the reason Tinu u will become president. If it were someone else like Soludo or the man from Ebonyi, the movement would have fared better. |
Chasemaduka:You are a fool. The problem with many of you like I have said is that your education is simply memorize and regurgitate. You are not educated in how to think. When I say x%, if you think you will always get that x% every month in business it shows you are daft. That is simply a long term average. You may hit it, you may not hit it or you may exceed in certain months but accounting for exceptional and bad periods, x% simply represents the average return. You clearly are lacking in long term planning/ forecasting skills. I actually was going to post at the time that you can have losses in between but you can recover because of the frequency of turnover. I just didn’t think I needed to spell that out to anyone with a brain. If you are turning over rapidly, you can easily recover loses and there will be losses. It is one of the reasons I said in one of my posts that if you have N10m and don’t have the brain to figure out something to do you probably are not cut out for business because don’t have the brains and resilience to navigate the world of business. I have also said nothing is guaranteed. Losses are part of business. Only an idiot can come here and think you won’t make losses in business. Even the street hawker suffers losses when they are raided….they start again and they learn to mitigate against losses!!! The point is if your business model is viable you will overcome your losses and be ahead over time. |
You know you have lost an election when you are asking your opponent especially the front runner to step down. |
AllDModsAreMaad:my advice to you is to take that nescafe sales job...maybe in 5 years you will have enough money along with loans from friends and family to buy an Uber and you can look forward to a life of steady N100k a month as a self employed Uber driver. It is clear you lack the intellectual capacity to get a decent job abroad except maybe security guard and you lack the business acumen to succeed in Nigeria, |
when you take a poll that tells you that Kwakwanso will get a statistically similar amount of votes as Atiku and Tinubu and that Obi will get almost 3 times each of them, common sense should have told you your poll is faulty. |
