This is what happened back in the day in my very own church that clarified the "Nice Guy like Bad Girls/The Good Girl like Bad Boys" thing for me.

I will not really concur that religion put a lot of power in the hands of women. Because if you really check it in the Bible you'll find out it was men calling all the shots from Genesis to Revelations, women's aspect was not really pronounced.
