He knows that without doing them he's practically useless. An evolutionary and cultural wiring that either makes or mars him.

The struggles of man are first for honor and ego. Successful men have their egos in check and can aggregate people to themselves.

Being able to run the game in his life without interference and fear makes him occupy the pedestal.

That's why men chose to go down the abyss.

An unsuccessful man is like a larvae. Won't be taken seriously until he metamorphoses into an object of complete life, strength, and beauty. Hence, the butterfly isn't limited to one position and can fly as it pleases.

Men understand this phenomenon deep down in their hearts.

Aesthetics doesn't bother men, unlike women.

For men, life is all about honor, bravery, resources, and respect.

The most beautiful man in the real, transcendental, and metaphorical sense is the man who occupies this terrain of value and material necessities to stand his ground.

The struggle is to establish a name, to not up as a failure, to protect his family and territory.

His inability will subject him to shaming tactics and ridicule. The rough road is his only remaining advantage. It is his path to hope and redemption.

These struggles shape men into different categories. Hence, everything around us comes under the influence of men. Whether good or evil. They are all products of men's struggles.

That's why the names of men are mostly pronounced in history and civilization.

Because men take the rough, turbulent road. The road less traveled, unlike women whose emotions wouldn't make them risk danger and darkness or get scared when challenged by the unknown.

Men know that it's only this unknown that can make them know the truth.

This desire for something tangible, for something great, for something that cuts across nations and generations, his posthumous remembrance, are the reasons men make a lot of sacrifices, bear harsh pains, and are willing to take risks to set themselves apart.

Many men don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. But wherever their journey ends, it has shaped their lives better than before. They aren't forgotten but become good lessons to those behind them. Ditto for men who eventually see the light.

It's a worthy struggle.

Alright. Noted. My apologies to Raalsaghul in that regard. Let us drop the condescension both ways.

The thing is my hackles get up when I see talk of racial superiority which I believe is rooted in, if not ignorance, then a lack of deep thought. It is too easy to see one race advanced, and the other less so, and conclude that the advanced race is innately superior or more intelligent. Deeper thought reveals the actual whys and wherefores.



Thank you for noting this - but the effects extend far beyond these. No culture dwelling in such hot parts will develop technologies which have at their root the search for heat. The search for heat in itself is a thing that will very naturally trigger the development of much technology which is heat based and heat reliant. And aside from this, the existence of something such as winter alone, imposes a rigor to planning without which a people would simply die off. Entirely. There is a simple saying that summarizes this: necessity is the mother of invention and that also tells us why there is a spike in inventions during times of war.

I also mentioned geography and one thing that should be noted is the way the developed nations of the world are all placed along certain latitudes on the Earth. This is not true - we do not have the lowest IQ and in this, please be wary of IQ tests which are knowledge based because knowledge is not the same thing as intelligence. Also be careful enough to consider socio-economic factors in your assessment because children from hungry and deprived homes are certainly less likely to excel in school than well fed children from comfortable homes who have access to the best educational tools.

Do you not notice something here about the nations you mentioned? Saudi Arabia and Qatar are both homogenous societies with a single religion and little diversity. Nigeria alone by contrast is more ethnically and linguistically diverse than the whole of Europe put together. Have you stopped to ponder the implication of this on peace, unity and patriotism, factors critical to development? Someone, I think, Gerrard59, pointed this out.

However, the point where I know we'll have issues is the topic of IQ.

Of course, your assertion is correct. The Flynn effect is also a factor that affects IQ. Environment, food, and climate matters too.

However, considering the heritability of IQ, which is 0.5 and above, and also admixture studies, you'll find out that Flynn's effect fades out with time. Another thing is the effect of genetics begins to play out from teenage age. That means, at an early age environment matters, but as the child crawls passed childhood, genes take over.

Yes, when discussing IQ and other psychological variables, we look at the population level against the individual.

Among Blacks, you can find hundreds of IQs above 100 and 120. Among Whites and Asians, you can also find hundreds of IQs below 85.

You'll always find any race at the left, middle, and right side of the bell curve. However, on a population level, we know who tops and who stays below.

However, this isn't a reason for Africans not to start developing their continent. There are thousands of tools, resources, and human capital to ensure growth. Bilateral and multilateral relationships can be leveraged too.

Recent Paul Graham et English Grammar fiasco got me thinking what if the Western world decides to shun us from using the internet? It's a hypothetical scenario, but what if? We think these people value and respect us, and it's a big lie.

And it's stupid to scream rácism because humans are tribalistic by nature. I wouldn't want too many lemon-green people in my country when the natives are blacks. The same are the thoughts of natives when they find the rise of immigrants in their lands.

It seems we are powerless to do anything. However, we must ask ourselves in what way we can contribute to this development. This is my current position. Except we just want to keep analyzing and discussing problems to no end, probably, till death do us part.

We all can't migrate from Africa to other continents. Even if we do, Black is Black, and "Blacks don't crack".

What about Greece of Alexander's time, that conquered most of known civilization? What about the Ottoman Empire - tell me where Turkey is today - is it the master of its surroundings the way the Ottoman Empire that sprang from it was?

Someone like you will be ignorant of the fact that when the Spanish went to the Americas, they were confronted with cities bigger and more wondrously designed than the largest cities in Europe at the time. Needless to say, you cannot ever know that it was small pox, brought as a contagious disease by the the Europeans, and not the gun, that actually defeated the natives.

What do you think the Romans thought of the the Brits and Germans? They regarded them as barbarian, and they certainly were, compared to Roman Civilization. What do you think that was a function of? And where are Britain and Germany today, have they not exceeded Italy in all things? There's no need for any condescension in this discussion.

You and @Raalsalghul are analysing same problem from different angles.

Climate and geography plays a role in the functionality of individuals and development of a nation. Africa is a hot continent, making it inconducive for work and the breeding of many parasites that causes diseases.

One useful sentence I picked from Walter Rodney in his book - How Europe Underdeveloped Africa: the Europeans have a a solid foundation and structure. They were able to conquer and colonized nations as a result of this.
This is where @Raalsaghul is coming from.

If you observed very well, that ancestral organization and structure is still there. Hence, they are on top of the world. They might not be following the template tit for tat, however, the template hasn't been completely ignored.

Regardless, Africans are not zombies. We are still intelligent even though our IQ is the least among the human races known.

But nothing stops us from developing our continent. We have the resources and human capital, however, we're still being dumb. Because we lack organization and structure.

Nations like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, used their oil resource to negotiate with standard oil to develop their nation. If the prince were as dumb like African leaders, Saudi Arabia would have been like Nigeria, Congo, etc.

Britain, America, Singapore, China, etc are the reasons I so much believe that one day Africa will see the light and raise shoulders in the world forum. Because these nations were once like Africa, and even worse.

The article and concern of the rep are everything that can't make a country experience economic prosperity.

Opening your borders will reduce the price of goods and services. Because there will be inflow from many sources who intend to capture your market. Even many of the indigenous citizens can see it as an opportunity to act as wholesalers, retailers, or distributors of such goods.

Opening your border allows your citizens to focus on the absolute or comparative advantage of goods and services. Rather than try to reinvent the wheel, they can focus on goods and services they have higher powers compared to other countries.

By opening your border and allowing the free flow of goods and services, that both import and export, you make life easy for the common man because producers will compete for them by lowering their prices. If the citizens can get their basic needs met they can focus on other things like innovation, invention, and research.

Any economy regulated by the government makes both imports and exports difficult. The result is hardship. The people favored are government businessmen and their friends and families. It gives room to monopoly. It makes local manufacturing and production difficult.

The function of government is to check for standards and quality and maybe bail out in tough economic situations. By the way, those difficult economic conditions are a result of useless government policies.

The free market is what built, America, China, Singapore, etc. Allow the market to decide what will happen in the economy. Give it a free chance. The free market creates more prosperity than anyone can think of.

Greed and exploitation in the free market is a fallacy. A fallacy we've all swallowed as truth. When there's competition, which is a result of the free market, there can't be an unnecessary hike in price. See Air Peace and other airlines.
Again we don't also consider the cost of production. We only see the price and start shouting "greed and exploitation".

However, in a free market, a capitalist market, every manufacturer will maneuver costs to ensure that the price for goods is on the same par with similar goods in the market. Or better still switch to another form of business to avoid loss.

Nigeria should open its border. Reduce the amount of import charges. Reduce tax rate. And the economy will grow.

There was no country when they were poor that closed her border that ever prospered. No country on earth. No one.

The template for national prosperity is there. No need to try to reinvent the wheel.

Had it been they were following or imitating such a template the effect of subsidy removal wouldn't have been felt that much. However, because nothing is going on, the masses are in complete disarray, confusion, and poverty.

It's like taking a parachute from them at high altitude and telling them to fly down without breaking their bones. Crime and death are the end.

The current government like its predecessor is playing abadacabra with the nation and its resources. Is it not stupid for a whole "giant of Africa" to wake up every morning and start chasing dollars to yoke it equally with naira?

Meanwhile, a simple, improvement in security to destroy banditry, Fulani herdsmen bandits, and their likes can make farmers go back to their farms. Revisiting the export policies is there also. Reducing tax rates is there too. Reducing the amount on import duties is there.

Revamp your refinery and other failed industries. Complete your white elephant projects. Focus on human capital and human development before constructing coastal lands from Lagos to Calabar. Provide stable electricity. Give licenses to private manufacturers and industries and allow Monopolies to fade into the shadow. Privatize relevant sectors and watch the economy grow.

When things are in order, it is the citizens who will ensure it continues because they are the beneficiaries.

However, the whole of APC + all Nigerian politicians are too myopic and stupid to see that this is a template on nation building and development.

They would rather chase dollars and exchange rates, build flyovers, construct feminine makeup roads, and station thugs all over the place.

Well written Cave and I share the same thoughts as you but the most annoying thing about this after coming to the realization of how low the IQ of the black race is the fact that you have no control over your being black and that you might be the only one in the midst of a billion souls who's only come to this knowledge and enlightenment.

Most Black Africans from my own observation simply do not care and would rather give in to carnal desires rather than ponder on how to improve their race. It's all man for himself. The whites do not think like that.

I wrote a post here on how negro slaves were the least in price during the Arab slavery.

Furthermore, I have also written on how I am reluctant to reproduce as a Black African person because there is no leverage to my offspring to succeed in this world where we are at the bottom of the pyramid.

I have lived with white people, I have worked with white people.

I have white folks as my friends.

I have studied them, how they think, their mentality and mindset, their preference for using logic rather than emotions or sentiments in dealing with issues, their inclusive thinking to nation buildings, their perchance for meritocracy, their immediate urge to look for a solution when something goes wrong and learn from it, their formulation of laws and swiftness to punish those who disobey them, their lazy approach to work and life which in turn makes them creative and come up/build on technology to make life easier for them, their respect of people's choices and way of life so long as it's legal and in line with the law.


I have studied all these their attributes even down to the point I am beginning to think like them and starting to see Africans from their perspective and why they built top civilizations but the most annoying thing about it is that I am still black, skin is still black, I have thick hair and strong accent.

The wife of our security man is pregnant with the 4th child. I'm still doubting and using my eyes to screen and scan her very well if it is truly pregnancy or potbelly or if my eyes are deceiving me.
The respective ages from the oldest to the youngest are 8, 6, and 1.

I have sworn never to give birth to a child in this country. I'm happy my parents have other kids. Praise the lord, hallelujah.
Because I can't imagine my child dealing with all the nonsense going on in this country.

I am in my mid service year, love your posts and the materials you sent to my email, I usually have religious conditioning about life generally but an incident is making me unplug but I'm very careful about the materials I'm reading, had these supernatural belief that one miraculous event would lead to my success ( yahoo jazz mindset), but now reality after school is kind of different, you make efforts to get to where you want to be and a little bit of luck.

I have unplugged from the religious matrix a long time ago. Ironically, I do go to church every Sabbath. I don't miss it.

I don't believe in any of those religious stories regardless of the prophet, messiah, messenger, or son of God. Except for the significant lessons religious books teach.

There's a reason people engaged in Jazz, voodoo or juju. But what they say they get from it is a lie. There's a psychology behind it which is rooted in basic chemistry, physics, and human behavior...and some other factors too.

You may say I've not truly unplugged, and be right. I do go to church for the community's sake. One can't just lock himself out of the world. By the way, it's those who have accomplished much that can choose to be complete introverts. I'm not that kind of introvert, despite knowing how utterly ignorant and stupid the average human is, not to even talk of the enormous gullibility of religious followers.

I unplugged because of an incident too. I can't imagine after living a holy life and praying for the family I love, day in and day out, and still receiving a call, that the beautiful face of my pretty younger sister got burnt.

Like what the fvck. What's now the essence of praying and fasting? Anyway, I'm happy that her looks were restored and now prettier than before.

I have observed, considered, examined, and scrutinized this religious thing from top to bottom. Aside from religious texts, there's nothing to it. It is just a medium of deceit, illusion, exploitation, and control. It's also a good coping mechanism for those who intend to short-circuit their way to success.

It took less than 500 pages of Rena Zena in his book - The Zealot, to completely alter my Christian faith. The scales fell off my eyes like when Ananias laid his hands on Paul to restore his sight.

Funny enough, these idiotic pastors and prophets see me as a strong believer even when I no longer regard their messiah as the savior of the world, save for his explicit biblical character. That's to tell you how fake they are, how ignorant they are, and how stupid to think they know something when they don't.

You can easily deceive religious people once you can understand their religion and play along with it.

I have a pet theory that many big pastors don't believe in what they preach, however, use it to exploit the people for gains and glory. They are the modern-day Pharisees.

Reality after school ought not to be difficult if not for the failed nation we've found ourselves. Only you need to build yourself because no one is coming.

Little advice: see what you can do in your PPA instead of running back home. Except such a place is useless. Because it's easier to work without feelings of shame and mockery in a strange land. Nobody knows you there. So you can do all the dirty work within a short time to take you to a point where you can start having good shorts.

Life isn't only based on luck. Other factors do concatenate to birth success.

Honestly, after wetin I don see so far, I don't rate Nigerian elites and other black elites. Nigerian elites, in particular, because we are the most populous black country and should be a leading example of black strive for excellence. We no do well. Fine, the white and even Arab men don deal with us, but we suppose get sense and re-strategise for the greater good of ourselves. See China today, I can count how many times Xi has travelled out to visit other world leaders. But for the past few months, foreign leaders have been visiting him, soliciting for deals and treaties. In return, they are negotiating ruthlessly and stating their needs with terms and conditions.



That is the bad thing about diversity. People lose a sense of belonging and patriotism in the country. But then, see the sit-at-home declaration and subsequent insecurity in the south east. I wondered what Igbo elites were doing. When a society falls, I blame the elites, both private and public. Many people seem to disregard the psychological comfort of living in their dominant environment, which is clean, safe, and prosperous. I wonder how African elites would cope should the West institute the citizenship revocation the US did against Chinese-American scientists. Most renounced American citizenship and moved to China. If China gets as easy for them, they move to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea, or Japan. Wahali! East Asians don't try for themselves. In all of this, they would maintain the same living standards and live in prosperous places as they did in the US.




Funny enough, I have not read the book. I just keep adding would-be books to the private list on my Amazon account. The list is to reach 200 books. I wonder which day I go get time to read even ten

It is the extra efforts they place in trying to live an enjoyable life in a poor and degraded nation I find ironic - tinted cars, bulletproof cars, high-fenced houses, and security escorts. But good roads, good hospitals, and good markets are far from them. Cases of emergencies and accidents are when the reality sets in.

It is not that I'm jealous and entitled to the pocket of any wealthy man. They worked for their money and can choose how to spend it. The painful thing is that there's a template for national development. A simple Ctrl + C from another developed or developing nation then Ctrl + V to their nations will get the continent awake and moving. But no, trust our dumb politicians and elites. They'd prefer feasting on a drizzling of crumbs than taking the time to plant seeds and reap bountiful harvests in future. It's always about the moment, as with myopic people who only see and think short-term.

This is why I always say poverty is a mentality. You can be rich and still live and behave like a peasant. Money in the hands of a fool doesn't make him wise. He just has the opportunity to display more foolishness. This is the case of African leaders and elites.

My annoyance is say upon all these profiles of Nigerian elites, we never even reach or attain the level of Malaysia. Some of the elites in Nigeria still believe in government subsidies. I respect Chinese elites as they used their brilliance, creativity, and influence to develop their country.

When research says that Blacks have a low IQ, children of utmost ignorance and illiteracy will start roaring in their hordes because they can point to one or two persons of exemplary intelligence and accompanying achievements. Meanwhile, such research is based on population level and not specific individuals.

Why did I say this?

African elites are dumb. They represent a larger percentage of low IQ. Hence, rather than unite at both national and Continental levels, to improve the state of their country and continent respectively, they will decide to spend it lavishly or look for a soakaway to store their money.

Yes, of course, many do have investments here and there, both domestic and international. But the point is that they don't see a need to use their position as a medium to develop their nations.

It's elites that rule and run a country; politicians are their puppeteers, from the presidential seat to the last civil servant.

However, they would rather catch a cruise or use their position to oppress the common man. See Erisco as an example.

It was American elites: Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie, Morgan, etc. that built America. Wealthy men who in a competition to become the most richest and powerful man in America used goods, services, and creativity to better their nation.

Tony Elumelu, however, is trying his best through his TEF. But the majority of his likes and even his friends don't seem interested in the steady growth and development of a nation.

As individual citizens, we can only go as far as our strength can take us. We have our roles to play. But support is still needed at the grassroots level for spontaneous change.

Another thing is that from observation most elites believe the country is gone. Especially those that are not too close to the corridors of power and politics. If they've lost hope in the state of the nation, their lackadaisical attitude can't be far-fetched.

Education is the only way out of Black's backwardness that has been trailing for generations non-stop. And this is the type of educational approach that can transfer people from darkness to light.

Not fighting for diversity, equality, and inclusiveness. It makes them look more pitiable than being honored and respected. Not talking about the transatlantic events from dawn to dusk as if it can cause an overhaul toward change.

STEM is the only way. However, Blacks can't match other developed nations in this aspect. But staying on this lane, and doing better will attract the attention of technical know-how and STEM savvies. Not starting from scratch, but capitalizing on the foundation already laid by the developed world.

Only STEM can quickly stimulate the nation and continent toward economic development and prosperity. All that's needed is the skills and talents + sponsorship or scholarships like this.

Research, innovations, inventions, discoveries, and good salesmen who can pitch their ideas to good venture capitalists before execution and their products to customers after execution are those who build a nation. Not skit-makers, content creators, and pranksters.

In addition to STEM: The history of the black nation should be studied. The people need to be aware of their past and the people who pose a problem to their development and prosperity. With time the nation and continent will get closer to the light.

As of now, no one needs to say I don't have big brains for STEM + Sales. I understand. Even if you do, the materials and resources you need to sustain you on that path aren't available. I love the fact that the movie didn't portray human ritual as a means of making money. Because it is superstitious and inhumane. This is not to say people aren't involved in it. But that human ritual is just a term to cover up money laundering, fraud, and other form of illegality.

The movie from start to finish was intriguing and exciting. Though, the producer and writer were trying to sell a narrative that I found disturbing, however, their point was understandable. We'll get there later.

Afamefuna was a man like his father and master. Men who will toil the soil, with long streams of sweat and sometimes blood breaking on their backs and legs. Rather than steal or beg.

Afamefuna was a man who understood what integrity entails. He was so passionate about his apprenticeship that he rose to a rank even his master was mirthful about.

He was attentive to his job. Always on point. Making friends and avoiding enemies. Mapping his terrain to know where his territory borders and how to make good harvests from it.

He would have ended up being a doormat man even though he was honest. That's where Paulo comes in. Paulo was a senior colleague at first, then a friend, later a brother, and unfortunately in the end, an enemy.

Paulo is like men who aren't able to sustain themselves to the end. May not be exactly their fault; some seeds don't reach the farm.

Paulo was a friend who thought Afamefuna the way of the street, the modus operandi of doing business among sheep, goats, and tigers. Integrity was not enough. Honesty was not enough. Kindness was not enough. The good man must pose as a warrior to defend himself and attack enemies. That's who Paulo was to Afamefuna; his shield and sword.

Afamefuna's father raised his son using his experience, never leaving his son in the dark, feeding him daily with the wisdom of sages. Giving men a highlight on raising quality sons. Which by pure serendipity, the young man quickly leveraged in his time of need - when his boss was almost going bankrupt and helpless.

The movie portrays hard work and integrity as the key to success. Having a keen eye to spot a good location to start a business and becoming the mayor of that town.

Afamefuna had a crush on his boss's daughter, however, his timidity, and also, the engagement of Paulo to the beautiful damsel he admired stopped him from making any amorous move.

This damsel, Amaka indeliberately turned Paulo into Afamefuna's worst and bitter enemy. Afamefuna has to take much blame here, however.

Paulo got jealous that Afamefuna got the blessings of his boss and has now gained his freedom. That act unfurled the dirty nature of Paulo, eroding his little integrity and efficiency. Paulo became wild and angry and sort for other means aside from legality to make money, riches, and wealth. Of course, he made a lot of money but at the cost of his dear life.

Afamefuna getting married to their boss's daughter, Amaka, was another fuel that aggravated the fire of hate between the duo who were once friends but now enemies.

Afamefuna broke the bro code: Bros shouldn't lust after their bros sisters, girlfriends, and wives. Paulo too broke one of the bro codes: Bros shouldn't eat where they shit; he was dating his boss's daughter.

Amaka also portrays the fact that women don't mind jumping high fences, crossing seas, and values to prove their love for a man they have a genuine desire for. She stole from her father to feed the fraudulence of Paulo, her boyfriend who promised her marriage but later jilted her. Funny enough, after many years of separation, she was still entangled with Paulo despite his ill-treatment of her. Genuine desire has a taste of Stockholm syndrome.

Afamefuna capitalized on the abusive relationship of Paulo et Amaka. He was able to lure his long-time crush into a housewife. Surprisingly, unfortunately, and unknowingly for him, he paid a dear price by raising Paulo's biological son. He was a victim of paternity fraud.

Paternity fraud is where I have an issue with the writer and producer of the movie. Amaka wasn't scolded for her actions. Probably, she didn't know because she was playing a home-and-away sex match. Rather she was condoled for her fraud.

Instead of letting Lotanna go meet his biological father, Paulo, Afamefuna didn't, and that was used as manipulative bait by Paulo to blackmail him. All Afamefuna wanted was peace to reign in his life and family, however, he was paying a high price that was detrimental to his total well-being.

Children of paternity fraud shouldn't suffer maltreatment due to the negligence and atrocities of their mothers. However, letting the truth known from the onset is better than covering it in an attempt not to hurt the kids. It doesn't help the kids in the long run.

Paternity fraud is a great crime against fathers and humanity. Fathers and kids involved can only survive this storm by making the truth known and administering justice.

Apprenticeship is a good way of raising soft hands who will later become moving economic forces. The Igbo Apprenticeship System is still in vogue, but it needs better regulations for the efficiency and raising of strong economic leaders. This can scale to every part of the nation.

The picture quality of the movie was top-notch. Good actors. Good play. Good movie.

Pastor Teddy, Ruth's husband was cocksure about his reproductive health. Blind faith. However, it was his wife who made that belief certain.

It's the truth that sets us free. Not assumptions, imagination, or blind faith.

This gave Ruth a higher ground.

Despite Ruth's predicament, her husband still loved her and wanted her by her side even with the knowledge that she would end up barren forever.

This means that their love was based on values and personality and similar ambition. Being childless couldn't deter them.

Judas Iscariot will always be part of any 12. So is pastor Todd, who rather than preach the gospel of his lord, decided to turn it into a money-making industry.
