dejidotun2000:Start up power draw is usually 167watt to 170watts. It then starts dropping and in less than 4 minutes, it drops to around 110 watts in most cases. There is a second one (exactly the same product and model) with someone else that OCCASIONALLY starts up at 1,500 watts (yes 1.5kw) but immediately drops to 115 watts working power. Most times it starts up at the expected low180 watts. But I don't understand that occasional 1.5kw that makes it different from my own. A factory error I suppose.

mctfopt:I own a MakeSkyBlue product already. Just wanna make hands on comparison between the two to know who's lying. That's all. |
Namzy:This is impressive if it is really the fact. I can even sell the 6 months old Haier Thermocool for cheap and add some money to get this. But are you sure your 70 watts is not the recorded consumption on a 24 volt power inverter system in which case the wattage consumption recorded is always half of the actual AC rating of the appliance. Please the name plate on the appliance will be more persuasive. I am itching to dump what I have for this power saving feat of a deep freezer. By the way, below is the name plate of the Haier thermocool. Start up power draw is usually 167watt to 170watts. It then starts dropping and in less than 4 minutes, it drops to around 110 watts in most cases.

But is Jesus really Caucasian? According to history, the bible lands of Egypt and the rest were majorly dark skinned. So how did they conclude on a white skinned Jesus? |
hardywaltz:But i assume the those big lithium batteries have in-built BMSes. At least I am dead sure of the 12v 100amps advertised to me before. I know the 24v and 48v nominal will equally have in-built BMS. I may be wrong in my assumptions so I stand corrected. Connecting another external BMS may disrupt the programmed algorithm of the in-built ones and the long term result of the clash may actually lead to an non-functional effective battery protection, eventually leading to early battery death. And with that in mind, I wager your Installer may have included some unnecessary items, deliberately or otherwise, into the quotation. |
dejidotun2000:I think it's more than the 102 litres I quoted. Perhaps larger volume (around 209L or 206L or thereabout sha). Currently away from home. I will snap the name plate when home at the weekend. Please bear with me. |
Namzy:That strict range of different VoCs for different voltage systems put some question mark on the efficiency. It may raise suspicion that the efficiency at all VoCs viz-a-viz the voltage system may not have a linear relationship in efficiency. Energy may likely be wasted if one goes a higher VoC that that recommended for a particular voltage system. If not for that downside and maybe a few more that may be present, these guys would have been a good value for money. They've even come up with another product with in-built WiFi for remote monitoring. m.aliexpress.com/item/4000007556126.html?trace I still think of securing the PowMr just to know who between the two is telling the truth (Penn and Teller tell a lie ) The PowMr appears to have good reviews on Amazon though.

earthrealm:Thanks for coming through. |
BetaTechnicians:Neighbourhood installer I think. Compared to those that need to travel down from Abuja or Lagos to work. Those ones are "foreign or expatriates" And it reflects in their charges anyways. Foreign things. |
adrusa:10k difference?! ![]() That's enough change to get you some few meters of extra cabling o. |
olaolu11:Is that aluminium wires? Pumping machine cables I know have copper conductors o, not aluminium. And maybe aluminium can still deliver enough juice for AC cabling, but in DC application, I think copper cabling is still best for efficiency, the recurrent watchword in solar set ups. |
olaolu11:Nope. I don't think most SCC do. Percentage battery remaining is usually in the purview of the inverters, as part of the manufacturing process. Basically the on screen information available on this SCC and indeed most SCC are the panel voltage, charging current, charging power (watt), battery voltage (V), temperature and maybe one or two other parameters that I can't recall right now. There is also programmable option to customize parameters. Now this issue of equalization mentioned by @ Namzy is a new angle to this. I think I need to do some more findings on that. Meanwhile, the MakeSkyBlue one has been running one of my modular units for about 8 months without issues. Thinking of trying out the PowerMr one (with their recent upsurge of accusations against MakeSkyBlue) just so to know who between the two is telling the truth .But pending my investigation, I believe that if most PWM SCCs can boast a veritable equalization phase, then I see no reason why this MPPT should lack that feature. The only variation/downside in the charging process that I think it might suffer from is the DURATION of equalization, something which one of either the fangpusun or Epever products seem to have too (I stand to be corrected, but I think I have read something like that on here before) @Earthrealm, what d'you think about this product lacking equalization? |
earthrealm:They're just confusint everyone with their fight, one claiming authenticity and the other as fake. |
olaolu11:I am also curious to know and I was hoping you could tell me. That is about the armoured cable I know is accessible and ubiquitous. But I always assumed the conductor inside is aluminium in place of copper and that it is non-stranded - two things that make it inappropriate for solar installations. |
Even the doctors 'emselves wish they had a better, more rewarding, less stressful, less vilified choice of preoccupation.

Is that armoured cable you talk about the same type that is used to run household power supply from NEPA poles via underground route into houses? |
olaolu11:The good sun hours usage implies certain things. You will need put your immediate and short term upgrades/modifications to include getting power efficient devices as replace, and upgrading your battery backup time (in no particular order of course), The long term upgrade will be installing more solar panels. |
olaolu11:Women can be very sensitive on issues especially the land ladies. Women they generally are sensitive in everyday life. And while you may be able to easily convince the husband because of less difficulty with guys blending, the wife may have (I'd wager most likely as is common with male-female interaction model) have much influence on the husband. Bro, as woman matter don enter am so, God is your strength o ![]() |
durodee:I will love to have this type of yours. How can I go about it? Online stores? Walk in malls? Thanks. And that polystar 1.5hp AC seems to have a friendly power draw of less than 1kw at full blast. Is it inverter AC? |
zeestone99:More information will be appreciated sir. * Panel sizes *Chemistry of backup battery *Capacity of backup battery *Hours under solar insolation required to charge fully. *Is it induction? Forgive me if it looks like I'm asking too much. Just wanna know more 'bout the product. |
sonnie10:Governors get about 300 million monthly as security votes, unvetted. If I were a state governor, I will surely use this opportunity to shine. 20 million per month kpere is enough to ginger these guys to work. I will place them on extra allowances and wages in addition to the FG's. I will arm them with tasers, tranquilizer guns, binoculars, radio equipments, bikes and all terrain 4 x 4's, place 'em and their families on good health insurance. Set up a fast judgement tribunal to try erring officers among 'em. Stay away from interfering in their work and give 'em some free hand to make arrests even if the erring lad was one of my family. On their own part, they should go fortify 'emselves with adequate local assurances (jazz) and train well in setting bobby traps. Let's see how one useless herdsmen or bandits will rear their ugly heads in my jurisdiction. |
Another 40,000 bribe seekers. Strong institutions are needed, along with good remuneration to reduce that evil. They should be dispatched as forest marshals to checkmate the use of our forests as camps by criminals. |
400billionman:The conductor took a bike transport and shortcut, most likely rational explanation. I actually was expecting to read that the guy appeared right in the bus after the driver had driven some miles. Now that kinda scenario will definitely give something to think about. My response however does not invalidate the likely existence of diabolism, metaphysical or "jazz". |
lucind:Funny. The call didn't give you the headache, okay. But your reaction being the appropriate saved you long-lasting headache. It's a scam that is also very mixed with diabolism. Once you agree to speak with the "baba" (who actually is one babalawo), he speaks gratitude to you interlaced with subtle incantations. There and then you enter into a trance and follow all instructions. They usually instruct their victims to meet them at a rendezvous point to, as they will term it, further show their appreciation for his/her honesty in returning the call credit. They will promise fortification against evil in exchange for money and the victim, having been enchanted will only oblige. The may keep at this for several days, collecting several tranches of money from the victim.and only let go when they feel they've had enough of their fill or when the victim's close associate notices something off and steps in. I've had the same format of message sent to me twice, 4 yrs ago and 3 yrs ago. The first time, being naive, I texted back the message even before being called. Soon after, I was called and the chap at the other end says baba wants to thank me and pray for me. I just introduced myself to him as a man of God told him not to bother about praying for me the traditional way and I ended the call. Months later, I realized it was a scam format after hearing stories of many that had fallen victim. The second episode, I blocked the number that sent it at once. |
olaolu11:Bro, your set up (900va inverter+150watts x 4 panels) may just be sufficient for your TV (if it's 32" LED or 32"LCD) and a few lighting points (LED lights), and yes sufficient during sun hours but not with the spent 100amps battery. Though the 200amps new battery may suffice for extended back up of 6 hours after sundown but in that case I will advice you up your panel sizes in order to adequately charge your new 200amp during sun hours else it risks failing early. Your LG TV will most likely have power saving mode and I will advice you adopt that (a 32" LCD LG at full blast consumes around 80 watts, 40 watts at power saver) You can get yourself a wattmeter to address the many "unsures" you have about the power ratings of your appliances. But I'll also add that you should plan towards replacing (either piecemeal or all at once) your gadgets to power saving ones. Needed to set aside a 10-yr-old functioning 106 litres 400 watts Thermocool freezer for a 110 litres 114 watts 72 hours off power freezing capacity variant and it is hooked conveniently to 150 watts x 4 panels and 600 watts (1200 watts surge) inverter. Also if you still intend to maintain that panel-SCC distance, then get cables with better gauges (those "join join" 3-core or 4 core pumping machine cables sold by our brothers are 2mm falsely rated 4mm and I realized that the day I saw the real 4 core in a solar shop). Doubling your pumping machine wires may work somewhat but not the best solution. If you are on national grid with fairly good online time, you can buy a 20amps standalone charger to help augment your 200amp battery juice when you eventually start using it. |
olaolu11:You may nit really need to punch the roofs. If your panels are not too many or the big wattage types, installers may use binding wires to hold the panels securely in place, tethered to the original nails that were used for the roofs. The corrugations on the roof will give ample space for aeration and ventilation under the panels. You just need to sweet talk your landlord to give in, explaining to him that not a single scratch will be made on his property in the process of installing your panels. You can even evangelize green energy to him by the time he sees how you enjoy with less noise from combustion generators. |
Trippledots:Hmmm. I really can't be sure what you'd do apart from replacing the batteries to get it working again. Like I said earlier, those batteries will be available on those foreign online stores. Okay, so I was able to do some checking after which i came to the conclusion that your battery may be Nickel hydride (Ni-H batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2v, and are rechargeable). Also the price of it further reinforces the possibility of what's in your device being Nickel-hydride. Except it is expressly stated like it was in the manual that came with the sinometers, most manufacturers will wanna go with cheaper component options, in this case nickel-hydride batteries. The lithium variant is more expensive, shipping inclusive.
