piuspaul:How to get in touch please. |
omenka: Woah.I woulda loved to witness that drama and the unveiling of the masquerade. |
Trippledots:So I was able to tear one of them apart. In contrast to the type I had before which was 4s12p 18650 config, this one is 3s16p config. Written on the battery label is: * Working voltage: 11.1v * Capacity: 33.6ah * Power: 373 watts. Like the former 4s pack, the BMS in this supports 12v to 19v input meaning it will do fine on solar panels, but I can't tell if it supports up to 100 watts like the former. I guess the only way to find out is to try and I don't mind blowing off the included BMS since I have several more powerful BMSes lying around to replace it. +ve and -ve output from the BMS goes into a DC-DC boost converter to produce outputs of 19v (for laptop) and 30v (for printer). Now with a working voltage of 11.1v, the nominal voltage per cell will be 3.7volts. At full charge of 4.2v per cell gives 12.6v output. An 18650 bms battery over discharge protect feature kicks in at around 3v per cell (9v for the 3s config). Also going by the 33.6ah divided by 48 cells gives around 2,100 mah per cell, which isn't bad. That nominal voltage of 11.1v promises a lot of possibilities with diy since most 12v inverters range between 10v to 15.5v. I couldn't work with the former one I had because the cells were 4s meaning that at full charge, the output will be 16.8v which is way outside the overvoltage limit of 12v inverters. Also the part I hated most when working with 18650s has been soldering leads on the cell terminals since I don't have an arc welder. But with these already connected with nickels in place, all it just takes is to get more of it, swap the in-built BMS with a more powerful one and you can have a powerful 12v lithium pack. I'm excited and I look forward to working on this thing. |
Costee:Hahhh! Memories.Well, the brain box was eventually changed. That was after the ignition was changed with no response and then a new fuel pump, also without any response as a cough from the car meaning I paid for those replacements in vain. A guy was eventually brought in from Ilorin, i think. He scanned it and concluded the brain box needed a replacement which he secured 48 hrs after. Well, there hasn't been a problem with starting since then. And of course I made sure I collected the original brain box removed from the guy in case I was being swindled. Ever since, there has been 2 more fuel pump changes; an air flow meter change, 2 air filter changes, numerous ignition plug changes, ah, yes and two times automatic transmission changes about 7 years ago, both within one year (a costly error from a careless mechanic who got it right the second time). Then also 3 times alternator replacements amidst several alternator belt replacements. The on board AC switch fell apart (hope to get a replacement online) and then the AC stopped working and the technician said a wire contact point under the compressor is faulty (he connected a wire to one battery terminal, the other end of the wire to an office pin and inserted the pin into a point under the compressor and it kicked to life, but he said the dashboard AC switch needs to be replaced before he could go on. It still serves well for inter-state runs but the only worry right now is it has some parasitic battery drain that warrants removing one of the battery terminals if it is to be packed for a day. I have tried trouble shooting and the error appears to point towards an after factory installed dashboard entertainment system. Then I'm waiting for another alternator replacement (with the assumption that the alternator may be performing below par) for a holistic repair of the electrical (parasitic drain) problem. |
[quote author=omenka post=82492601]I dont even understand what is wrong with you kids nowadays. How is supporting a chance to prove to the world what a criminal mainna is equivalent to supporting him? Where is the correlation there? Shouldnt we be happy mainna has fallen into a trap to have him disgraced before the whole world? Or is you peoples anger over my comment coming from the likelihood Reno has no evidence to substantiate his claim? ![]() I would like to see mainna disgraced therefore I support Reno proving he's a big thief in court. Or is there something wrong with that? [quote]I think the more appropriate opinion from you shoulda been "you seeing Omokri proven wrong before you decide to support Maina. We need the verdicts of the courts, yes. But as it stands today, it's quite obvious that Maina was guilty of the allegations of pension mismanagement levelled against him. Heck, how many politicians or civil servants heading the ministries are even clean anyways? Rare. |
Folks. I'm doubting the knowledge I hitherto think I have on these. What are the basic differences between them: •Gel batteries (is it the same as AGM?) •Absorbent Gel Mat (AGM) batteries •Valve Regulated Lead Acid •Tall tubular (I think I know well about this cos I dislike its noticeably noisy appearance and apparent babysitting I think it'll entail) How comparable are their ruggedness and longevity and what are the dos and donts with these variants? Do they (especially the GEL and VRLA) necessarily have the same charging parameters? Thank you. |
Are your solar TVs and fans still on offer? |
Is it useful to print passport photographs in a business centre? How sustainable is the supplies for consumables (printers and cards)? Are these consumables compatible or interchangeable with similar offerings from hp, brother etc.? |

zeestone99:Your analysis is good and accepted that as it stands today, lithium if affordable, should be the first choice of any AE enthusiast, I not exempted. But come to think of this: There is every possibility that lithium can come much cheaper than all the offerings common in the market today, but do you know why merchants will rather pitch the price at the set point they put it? That calculation. Yes, that analysis you put up there. In fact, it's the same analysis that lithium manufacturers will use to justify a price set point and that is the set point passed on to re-sellers. Manufacturers and merchants exploit every opportunity for rapid ROI without recourse to some factors. But that's business and that's what it is. |
Trippledots:The capacity isn't indicated on it and I forgot to ask from the supplier, cos I assumed that it will be the peri-20,000mah that was of the types I had before. But this omw is smaller sized but with apparently more juice (as experienced from the use). I plan to even take it apart soon and see the innards. I'll confirm from the supplier and get back to you. |
Topmost11:Don't know what I did wrong again that the bot had to restrict me from this section, hence the late reply. The inverter is bough off of Aliexpress and mehn, it's like there is a price crash right now, damn! I got it for 132usd, but now it's 111usd. wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail&spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4djEIa1l">https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32827833572.html?trace=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail&spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4djEIa1l

Validated:So it is still about GEJ, even for the fact that most of those things he was accused of are true? Haven't you moved on already from the loss? Even GEJ himself has moved on with life. Now back to APC mata. Channels, AIT, the printed media and indeed most traditional media outlets filter out news that may pitch them against the government in power. The social media is about the only remaining tool for the common man to propagate news, so why try to muzzle that if not a dictatorial attitude? Even the traditional media lies to us every time, being influenced by the government, so they should not bad mouth the social media as the bad gut here simply because it is outta their reach to influence in their favour. |
Okay. False news like the FUOYE students murdered by the trigger happy security cops abi? Thank God for social media and camera phones. You will not see the news of those murders in the mainstream media and it would have been buried there and then, even denied by the state government as fake news. But when the evidences started flying right and left in the cyberspace, the incontrovertible videos, audios and pictures, the governor had no choice bur to come on air to do damage control and instruct that the officers responsible be brought to justice. The social media: The new conscience of the common man, ever since the mainstream media has been dead to its own conscience. |
Trippledots:So there is this lithium pack (18650s) that is designed to be used with a laptop (19v out) and printer (30v out) ports. Charges good and at a price of 12k. Pack includes battery pack, battery charger and in-to-in plugs for the type of laptop you use. Guy is reliable, so if you wanna contact him I'll give his number here. |
olaolu11:400ah 24v will give you a good run time close to the 4 hrs you seek but I'm not sure the 600 watts panel will adequately charge the batteries to full before sundown. The gurus here will give more expert opinion. |
olaolu11:3.5kva inverter for a 140 watts freezer may be an overkill. With me, a 2kva 12volt inverter handles a 114 watts deep freezer adequately. In fact the freezer had hitherto done fine on a 12v 600 watts (1200watts surge inverter) with occasional at most twice weekly surge hiccups - the reason why I upgraded the inverter to a 12v 1200 watts (2400 watts surge variant). The panels handling the set up are 4 pieces 150 watts flames all in parallel with a 30 amps PWM charge controller (to be upgraded to MPPT soon). The battery is 100 amps (trans-over from one of the spent batteries for the home entertainment system modular set up). The positioning of the panels are not optimal because of steep roof angle but by 9am when the sun is up, the freezer starts and the output from the panels fluctuates btw 90watts to 114watts. By midday up to around 5pm, the output ups to around 295 watts to 380 watts and the battery remains at optimal charge all these period. 6pm the inverter is programmed to shut down (the battery isn't so perfect for longer run time), but the freezer keeps items frozen till the following day. These are the performance this rainy season. I expect better during the dry seasons. |
Costee:Bros ![]() Lol, I can't remember what issues I complained about it here sha, but yes I resolved whatever issues came up with it because it still drives fine although age is telling on it. Chai! That car is a 12yr old something na, and e don get enough brothers and sisters dem. ![]() |
r2b:People, our friend here has just given a new universal meaning to who a "pathologist" is. Initially it was "anyone that works in the hospital can have the prefix -Dr - added to their name and a scientist that has the prefix can, as a consultant, attend to patients in clinics, do ward rounds and alter the clinicians' recommendation" Now it's "anyone with the right requisite can train to become a clinical scientist otherwise called pathologist" Now our guy here is telling us that [b]a lab scientist cum lab technologist is otherwise called a pathologist. In other words, the pathologist is actually another meaning for a laboratory technologist and it's the doctors that don't know their place is with the patients that are trying to take the pathologist name from the technicians. It's a public service announcement: The ignorant medical population, the self-serving hospital personnel and the general non-medical public should please take note. ![]() Chai! Wetin do Nigeria like this?! |
nicepoker101:Well, I'm sure that soon the ECG technician will begin to assume full control of operations of and interpretations of ECG test results and ECHO results soon. Shebi every one is a professional and the cardiologist has no freaking rights on the ECG or ECHO machine or even the results therefrom. They should mind their business with taking care of the patients. |
Pompotiti:Thank you for that incisive deposition. |
Kassia:You mean the pathologists LOCKED themselves in and began to damage the same equipment they use to work, the expensive equipments that they had to sweat to have the management provide?! And by leaving the ward, do you imply that the clinician left the wards and decided to come and run tests in the clinical laboratory which by the way is the turf of the pathologists? |
Ahyjo:Thank you. |

ameh99:Is this 480watts you quote here at 12volts or 24volts? |
Specs and technical information are missing. *Panel size and power *How many hours in sunshine to full charge? *Total watt of light *Total lumen of light *Auto light on at dusk? Off at dawn? *Induction distance *Type of induction pattern: Off to full light, off to dim light, dim to full light? *How many hours of full light intensity can it provide for night illumination after full charge? |
Ahyjo:@Ahyjo. Link that that supplier please. And quickly too. |
microgiant:Oh, I will really love to know how he went about that. But for the charging, there is this user customisable boost solar charger that I saw a you tube poster hooked up to his Li-ion pack. I think it costs 11k or thereabout online. The good thing about the charger, I think, is that you can hook on a 12v solar panel and it will conveniently boost the out put to charge a 24v, 36v or 48v pack depending on your settings on the charger. I've no experience with it yet but i may just acquire it for future sake.
