CNN80:It depends om the TV manufacturer. Accessed thru "Settings == Picture mode == Power saver/energy saver/backlighting". I'm very sure of LG TVs from 32" upwards having that feature. There is this 10 yr old 32" LG LCD that first off consumes 98watts but drops to 45 watts when the "energy button" on the remote is activated. This process reduces the "backlighting" same as the power saving mode on your mobile phone does including connectivity like WiFi, bluetooth etc on TVs that have the add ons. I'm also sure of some Hisense models with the power saving feature. However this is not an absolute as I had a friend who got a 40" Hisense which regrettably has no power saver. Once got a 22" Skyrun off of Konga. It naturally consumes 30 watts but sold it off after one month upon discovering it had nothing remotely close to power saver mode. Summarily, when going solar, think gradual replacement of your appliances with energy saving alternatives. When going shopping, avoid online malls where you won't have the luxury of directly testing the appliance's energy rating. When you go to shops, always be armed with a wattmeter. By the way, there is a 42" startimes TV up for sale. It has in-built decoder. Purchased new and only used for 5 months before it got packed back in its package. Consumes 72 watts and you guessed right, has no energy saving feature. Abeg interested buyers should come forward. Guy needs money ![]() |

EternalBeing:I have two of her paperbacks: "He came to set the captives free" and " A vessel unto honour". I wish to have the e-version of her publications. I came to be aware of her running battles with slander and blackmail and was so shocked that if I had bot read those books as a kid and made up my mind about her then, I could have easily been swayed to dislike her by those claims aimed at discrediting her. Everyone has ugly pasts that are best thrown into the garbage of history and that is what transformation in Christianity is all about anyways: Old creatures becoming new; old things passing away. I guess they exhumed some of her past, mixed half truths with half lies, exaggerate it and concocted their soup of lies. |
"She says she is sure the man is a Yoruba man" ![]() Yoruba demon don wack diswan. Igbo nephilims too dey do their own Hehehehe |
CNN80:I'm assuming your calculation for the bolded are based on the maximum power consumed. So aside from Oga Niyi's recommendation, you can still get more run time if you switch to energy saving mode. Your bulbs can be changed to low power LED bulbs. A 60" Hisense TV that peaks at 150 watts drops to 45 watts at energy saving settings. So you may want to consider using TVs with that feature. |
earthrealm:In fact, right now there is hardly any electronics purchase I do without taking my wattmeter along. The merchants always look like "what is this guy doing" whenever I request their indulgence to plug in the appliance thru the meter when testing. Apparently majority of them do not know that "energy savers" should be the watchword either on grid power or green power. Oga Ojeysky should get a wattmeter as a handy tool. It'll help a lot. |
ojeysky:Sorry I'm seeing your post late. I should be home by the weekend. I will take pictures of the information on the sticker and the model number and get it across to you. |
theoldpretender:How does Burundians pay for the power? Through estimated billing? I thought otherwise. Until BEDC comes clean with providing for me the prepaid meter that I'd applied for almost two years ago, they shouldn't expect me to use their power supply. I'd stick to fossil and green alternative sources for now. |
Was that plane a Boeing 737 Max 8? Cos it will definitely be providence protecting the plane from another AOA issue. Truly, my heart skipped a beat when I read the first few words of the topic: Plane Forced to Turn Around After... I thought it was another B737 Max8 with malfunction mid air. Phew! Lucky Air Peace was yet to take delivery of their ordered B737 when I flew that airline days ago. |
NiyiOmoIyunade:I think these electronics manufacturers have begun making power saving versions of most gadgets. During one of my hunts for such, I came across a 203 litres haier Thermocool deep freezer that was rated to consume 120 watts. Testing it with a watmeter gives peak current consumption of 203 watts at start up and between 105 watts to 140 watts after start up depending on the ambient temperature and how much it has cooled. One of the stickers on the appliance also boasted 70% power saving the way it is indicated on that inverter AC picture. What's more is that the operating voltage range is between 160 v to 220 v. My 209 litres Thermocool freezer of 10 years hugs 520 watts start up and fires on at 220 watts. |

Cannibal killer slaughtered and ate 23 pizza delivery men, 6 Jehovah witnesses, 2 postmen in past 7 years Houston police have arrested a man believed to be behind the disappearance of no less than 31 persons this past decade. Ivan Fedorovitch Yanukovych, 56, could be linked to a number of mysterious disappearances in the area believe officials. Yanukovych was interrogated by police after neighbours complained about him using a chainsaw late at night and reported the man being “covered in blood.” When police arrived on the scene, Yanukovych was found butchering a dead body in his garage and preparing what police officers described as “large quantities of ground meat” mixed in with an “aromatic blend of spices.” “The suspect admitted to preying on unsuspecting delivery men from local restaurants, several postmen and even a number of Jehovah witnesses,” Assistant Chief Jeff Buchanan told reporters. Executive Assistant Chief Buchanan from the Houston Police Department says officials seized over 700 pounds of “unidentified meat” from four freezers and which is presumed to be of human origin. “I never suspected he was a mass murderer. He would often invite all the neighbours to watch football at his house and host large barbecues for everybody and was super friendly,” one neighbour told reporters. Yanukovych, 56, who lives with his mother, Anastasia Z. Yanukovych, 93, and who rents the house basement to a local student, seemed to blend into the community and never arouse suspicion from neighbours. “He was in charge of organizing our yearly spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the past five years and was a key player in the community. I am in utter disbelief” one local YMCA administrative told reporters. When interrogated by authorities, Yanukovych apparently showed some remorse about killing the delivery men and postmen who were “just doing their job” but said the Jehovah witnesses “really annoyed him” and wished he had “taken more out.” Tom Duvall, a local Jehovah witness organization spokesman, said that he is relieved that “members of our local chapter can now feel safe” and that “these courageous souls have not ended in this vile man’s belly, but in God’s belly.” If convicted of his crimes, Ivan Fedorovitch Yanukovych faces a maximum prison sentence of 2,675 years in jail, believe experts. https://worldnewsdailyreport.com/cannibal-killer-slaughtered-and-ate-23-pizza-delivery-men-6-jehovah-witnesses-2-postmen-in-past-7-years/

JasonScolari:The chap must be a member of the Nigerian Police. That is how they turn logic on its head. Intimidation is their MO, because of this you hardly see eyewitnesses coming forward to give vital information that would help in their investigations. I wonder if that crude and medieval crime fighting method is part of what they were taught in that police college. |

Are you sure that first guy is not a product of Saraki's moment of indiscretion? Such striking similarities. |
Wonder how peeps fall for these cheap scams. I know in the case of those Caucasians, they get unduly lonely after they divorce or get bereaved, but heck there are many things they can do with their life: Engage in some charity works putting smiles on the faces of less privileged and enjoy some meaningful company and moments with them. They can even adopt kids if they are so crazy for company. Sheesh!

Or you could just purchase solar panel car battery chargers instead. These are small sized panels that plug into your car's cigarette lighter socket and you place the panel on the car. It trickle charges your car battery and helps to keep it at the optimum charging voltage so that even when parked for long, your battery does not discharge due to your car's circuitry. These things are available on Amazon and even Jumia or Konga for cheap. Disconnecting your car battery disrupts the memory function of your clocks, radio and equalizer presets and your car alarms won't work. |
