Pukkah: Why would a Minister talk in such a general and nebulous terms like this on a subject that's this important?Don't be surprised that the customs 'ogas @d top' cornered half of the revenue, under reported the actual imports and this dude is here mouthing rubbish. Can you imagine if we locally produced the 50% for real? The impact on the farmers will be very glariing. |
He is as cute as ever. All entertainers are gay...believe it or don't. It's good that Michael has come out of the closet. We are waiting for D'banj, 2face, Usher, Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Wizkid and the rest of them to come out too. Be proud of what you are.
That's a huge generalization. Besides, it's not right calling out those folks. However, a Psychologist friend recently told me that a study on gays shows that their artistic/creativity part of the brain is usually more developed than that of the normal folks, because i kept wondering why we have so many celebrities involved in this nauseating act. |
Do you have S4? Pics and price? |
pDude: Cos it is a service that would have about 3 customers or user per month. You must be kidding. If you see the stats for national daily fund transfers abroad, you will shudder. The reason is purely AML policy. Otherwise, that will be an easy 'ghana must go' route for our 'honorables' to clean us out. |
But why 25 years? No country should do anything less than Life term for murder convictions! Nobody should be allowed to walk free after taking another life. |
Two thumbs up! Jarus Never mind the blind critics. You are doing a great job, using your personal influence/finance to help a few. Your reward will surely come. |
I think it's high time the Anti Money Laundering activities should be seriously implemented in Churches/Mosques. These organizations should be mandated to report to CBN on any individual that drops up to N1m, just like banks. Since Nigerians are notoriously religious, you find them giving part of their loot to the religious organizations as an act of penance. Some even build places of worship with stolen public funds without questioning. |
I don't know about SUVs but I am currently using MAXXIS P205/65 R15 for like 18months now and I've never had it flat for even a day. I bought the 4 tires during the Lagos int'l trade fair of Nov '11 @12k each. The most important thing is to buy your tires from the genuine importer with warranty . So many fakes out there. |

Those guys are a bunch of criminalized touts! They pounce on unsuspecting motorists at those sharp bends where they know you will slow down. I'm planning to drive on that route very soon, but i'll make my journey on a weekend so they won't be there. Else i'll knock 'em down if they try anything funny. I know my company usually gets those papers annually for about 15k on official cars, which covers sundry levies from virtually all the states in the south, but for my private car? I can't do that. |
It's basic economics. I burn 1gb Airtel data @3k within 2 weeks on PC, even at a very moderate browsing. On the other hand, i use the same 1gb BIS @1k for a whole month with heavier browsing. Though i'm not sure about the rates on Andriod/Ios/Windows mobile but PC usage is way too costly. |
You listed vehicle license and insurance as part of the deal for replacing old plate number. My vehicle license will expire in December, must I change them now while getting the new plate? |
May be they should have tabulated the figures for easy analysis. Meanwhile I support Pat Utomi's call for part-time parliamentary system. Let people go to their personal jobs, then come in at scheduled dates, discuss the business of the day, collect sitting allowance and go. Then, let us see the real Patriots. |
Zeddicus: Surprised no one has noticed the amount she was getting paid.. Nearly $2000 a day for 7 years!!! Wow.It's funny that every poor mind always think that with money, all their troubles will disappear. Think again, son. Did you also not read that with all the money and supposed attention, there was no meaning to her life? She turned to alcohol and drugs, then suicidal? To all the poor thinking that you can do all sorts of evil just to make money, just know that when you get there, you will discover that there is no 'there' there. To the young girl I'll say, welcome back to Life! |
It's horrible! The useless contractor that built this nonsense should be blacklisted till he can prove he's capable of building a 21st century/modern project......even the two jobs done in Kano are a million times better than this crap!
Hold your breadth first. This GAT here is still the refurbished old local terminal. The international wing is situated at the western part of the airport, with only the foundation stone laid by GEJ. The GAT construction is yet to kick off, meanwhile work is in top gear on the run-way. The international passengers will be using this in the mean time till their terminal gets errected, hopefully by the end of next year. Meanwhile ticket sales/enquiries for Ethiopian airlines is currently done at their desk at the Polo mall. |
13mil/annum for senior investment bankers? Nah! That's the going rate for commercial bankers. Those senior IBs pocket far more than that. Probably like 18-25mil annually. Reason being that their HR returns on investment is very high unlike commercial banks. |
Tokunboh is a smart guy. He has always being an heir apparent of sorts at FBN. Rose very fast in his banking career, then jumped ship into a political career, and probably learning from what happened to Remi Babalola that also left to join fed ministry of finance, he has beat a fast retreat into his familiar terrain. Who knows, dude may have a shot at the GMD seat one day. |
kawazaki: I have been working for the past 10 years. All my life i have been working for multinationals and also been working for more or less 25 hours a day.I understand your situation bro. It is called 'management' You have to realize that corporate organizations are somehow likened to the Ants colony; you have the workers, soldiers, breeders and the like. Once you get there, it's either you are going for a meeting or you call for a meeting yourself, then push the resolution to the 'workers' with a simple line 'Please treat' lol. There's this joke we usually pass in my company, when somebody wants to raise your ego, he'll say 'you are the staff, we are the workers, working for you' But also know that when things go wrong, you have a greater responsibility on the blame, that's why all your years of hard work prepared you to know when your team are about to goof, so you can arrest the situation on time. |
Immatex: What is baptism for the dead?Excellent! I wanted to reply the dude that quoted that scripture, but then i saw your beautiful rendition. Just like Rom. 6vs3-11 rightly said, we were buried with him by baptism, and will also be like him in resurrection. And YES! Praying for the dead works only for ONE purpose - To raise the dead! Any other prayer for the dead outside this is mere venting of religious emotion. |
pendusky: so people like me that hav pension money paid from my salary, do i still need another investment? i rep #team26-30Sorry to burst your bubble but that funds may not be accessible by the time you retire. Some one would have moved the cheese as usual. You better start planning your personal pension. |
idumuose: Aero contractors(fly aero)did the same promo 2yrs back.InfactYou are right. It was an easy route then for Aero to mop up operational funds in advance and also lock-in customers ahead of other fylers. Dana just borrowed a leaf. I wonder why Aero stopped that promo. I really rammed up massive mileage then with the Aero 5k offer. Awoof dey sweet jare! The only snag then was that once you miss that flight, your 5k is gone since it's non-reusable like the normal fares. |
Misinformation galore. Many of those screaming childnotbride could have saved their breath on 29 (4) and looked for the relevant section to attack if they as much as READ the legislation in question. But then since a vast majority of Nigerians DO NOT READ, coupled with the Senator Yerima beef & the bandwagon effect (me too i'm talking, or i'm among), its not hard to see why so much misdirected noise was made over that legislation. Even on nairaland here, some people were still writing epistles and stating categorically that "Nigeria wanted to introduce a law allowing child marriage" when the issue at hand was actually the removal or retention of a certain clause in a section devoted entirely to citizenship and which in actual fact had to do with giving an edge or not to women who were under 18 but married. It is also not surprising why our leaders have continued to do nonsense, get away with it and still get voted again by people. WE DON'T READ. We never bother to find out just how much cra..p or otherwise we are getting from the leaders. I hope that from now, especially by 2015, Nigerians will for once actually use their active campaign mentality for something good rather than relying on sentiments as usual.
I was so appalled at the so called Twitter warriors (El Rufai, Omojuwa, etc)with their bandwagon trending with #childnotbride because i saw clearly that these people had issues with comprehension of the issue on ground. When Pastor Bakare, a qualified lawyer joined the fray on sunday, i just gave up! |
Mehn! I'm amazed at Bakare. He sounds like the whole bunch in NL that find it hard to comprehend before commenting. Asides, he is also a lawyer to be making this herd mentality statement. |
This babe sure moves within the right circles. Even if your works are good, it needs to get into the hands and minds of decision makers for you to win Prizes the way she does. Another feather to Nigeria's cap, more inspiration to the upcoming writers. Keep writing guys, you never know. |
BarryX: That can be embarrasing to say the least.BUT i won't agree with the bolded ---- i think they just tell people to switch off their phones probably because of calling tones distractions not really because of ebibles. they can pass for silent mode if you clarify yourselfI thought as much too. But even after pleading that the phone was in silent mode, she insisted on my doing away with it still. It was a blanket ban. I later confirmed from the members. |
Reminds me of the day I travelled to another city a couple of years back and decided to worship at the Winners Chapel there. As I whipped out my phone and launched Bible app, an usher rushed me and insisted that I must put out the phone, and that eBibles are prohibited, I obeyed to maintain peace but I was so pissed. We can as well go back to the age of tablets of stones because even paper is a recent invention. What sayeth the scriptures? 'It is the spirit that giveth life, the letter killeth' In other words, whether you carry stone tablets or dead sea scrolls, if the word does not dwell in you richly, the devil will snatch the patchments from you, then use it to flog you well. You can ask the seven sons of Sceva. |
thegoodjoehunt: Sgt. Rogers said he was financially induced to make that statement.Oh really? If one collects money to lie under oath, Ain't that perjury? Was he also discharged? I am not a Lawyer, but the judgement sounds like they got to a cul-de-sac pursuing Al Mustapha meanwhile there is still a lead from Sgt Rojers side. The question should now be 'Who exactly induced him? Does it mean the court has no power to compel him to name/produce the financiars? |
Looks like i'm mixing things up here. I thought Serg Rojers had earlier admitted he pulled the trigger on the lady. That Al Mustapha was being prosecuted for being the one who gave the licence to kill? Why are they still talking about bullet being white or colored here ![]() So, at the end of the day, sorry 15years, we still can't hold anybody responsible for the brutal murder of Kudirat? Ain't the law justifiably an as*s? ![]() |
Dude went to the house to win Prize money, instead he won STD. Still thank your stars it wasn't HIV. smh |
picaro: Oh no, you got it wrong. we're civilized humans in an uncivilized environment. In a civilized world, the police would be trusted, and those thieves would be cooling off in jail cells, in a civilized world, the woman's recharge cards wouldn't be seized by the police also, the people will have faith that their case is safe with the police. but nay, everyman protects himself, even from the police. the people cant trust the police and courts, they have to protect themselves and prevent a recurrence of these robberies, and send a message of deterrence to the would-be robbers. THAT, my man is justice. You call it barbaric, i say it is what the society calls for. This your response, my dear lady, takes the cake. I couldn't have put it any better. The job of the police is to help the society deal with criminals, if the police abdicates the duty, the society has the right to mete out the justice on demand. |
