Let's compare one state in USA and a country called Nigeria.

GDP of Texas 2021: 2.0 Trillion dollars
Budget of Texas 2021: 261.5 billion dollars.
Presidential aspirants in Texas pay a $5,000 filing fee.

GDP of Nigeria 2021: 446.9 billion dollars
Budget of Nigeria 2021: 23.3 billion US dollars (13.6 trillion naira)
APC presidential form: 170,940 US dollars (100 million naira)

Compare that to a poor country called Nigeria. APC decided to set the price of governorship at $85,470 (50 million naira). That is 16 times more than what is paid in USA. While that of president set at 170,940 US dollars (100 million naira) is 34 times more than what is paid in USA.

Until INEC sets a REASONABLE limit on how much political parties can charge, this ridiculous trend will continue.

Are our destinies tied to APC and PDP?
Many are complaining that these top two parties are disenfranchising young candidates with their prices. We have more younger people than old people. If only many Nigerians think like me, APC and PDP would have been abandoned for a long time. But most of the electorates love 'abusive relationship'.

If in other countries, a young person can win an election with a unpopular party, why can't it happen in Nigeria?

The boy's parents already knew what fully happened about a month ago,

The only parent who was kept in the dark are the girl's parents even though the

Funny enough I would choose Buhari compared to most illiterates here on Nairaland who would not rationalize their opinion but are blind without room to reasons. Here is an advice added to your good deed pastor too generous.........get a piece of land, maybe 4 to 5 plots.....
Build a 3 to 4 story building.......1,2,3 rooms on each buildings on different plots, then subsidize the rent for member who can't afford the huge cost of residence in Lagos state currently........it's worth glorifying when you can pay 200k for a posh self Con in Lekki instead of 700k, 500k for a mini flat instead of 1 million minus service charge o, 850k for a 2 bedroom in Lekki instead of 1.5 Million or more. This country don't seem to know what it needs to liberate herself out of bondage. Yes not all the aspirants are perfect but some are way not in league of giving any opportunity. Wike is power drunk, Tinubu is frail and weak thus needing medical consciousness, naturally APC has to step down as another party would have to checkmate and balance their records to factor out all looted funds, corrupt practices e.t.c this rules out all APC candidate including Osibanjo. Between Atiku, Obi and the rest it is only fair and just for the south east to emerge owning to the usual zoning arrangement because if it where them they would play the card, but in this case let's focus on competence and not sentiment. Obi supercedes the other candidates considering what the country needs at the moment.

Truth be told, if portable water AKA Doctor Zazoo..... declares interest to run for election, he would still have supporters rooting for him. So am not surprised at the backing anybody is getting. All I know is that this country needs another party. Tribe sef no be my problem. I want the party to change hands.............if Una like make Una vote anybody enter .........the economy has never favoured the Igbos but still they thrive......I would love to see any other tribe go through what they went through and be able to survive it.

This will be my last comment on nairaland subject to any topic bothering on politics or tribal implicacy. I have observed that most comments here on specified topics are embroidered more often laced with hate and tribal bigotry, even tho thier various opinion are facilitated from compound ignorance or carelessness. It is of no gain for anyone to tailor their loyalty fashioned out of callousness rather than selfishness. Nigeria can't be one with such mentality and the people who are guilty of this care less to give a f**k. If I do not support any particular candidate and I have my reasons for so doing, I would only do the needful at the polling booth. Being generous during election periods is already too familiar with politicians when election draws near as I wonder why wasn't this generousity recorded or heard of previously befor the elections drew close. As nigerians I believe in our diversity and that we can leverage on the most essential which we have in common. Nairaland should not encourage baseless argument as nigeria would not grow like this. If I disagree with you and the first thing you sight is my background or where I come from then you are worse than the problem. Making donations rather than tackling the problems I believe only a feeble minded person too naive to carve out their own path will fall for the shams and I say this as a concerned nigerian with due respect. I have not come to insult anyone's father or be mindless of anyones cultural heritage, but to state the fact that this platform encourages hate and tribalism and our future can't shine father than our limited nosiness. Of course he is shameless for cancelling his Colloquium because of Kaduna train incident, if he were to be non-shameless, he would have thrown a party to celebrate the incident.

Look at the comments of some on this thread, you will see that no matter what you do, you cannot please human beings. If Tinubu had proceeded with the colloquium, they would have said he is inconsiderate. Now he cancelled it, they still feel bitter.
