Okay i didn't put that well..what i meant was that he won't only respect you but would show it by making sacrifices for you and fulfilling all his duty and obligations to you. if he doesn't respect you he wouldnt want to please you na.

cocacandy, the thing is this.when you go all out to sincerely respect a man, he grows soft towards you.he tends to listen to you because you respect him.
Every man that is worth it sees himself as the boss, the captain of the ship called marriage.he had his ego.all you berd do is to massage his ego by respecting him.not necessarily being a fool but meekness that would reach out to his soul and soften the hardest part of him.once you get to that point, that man would have the urge to give back.
Now the only way he can give back is not to respect you.no.it's by seeking to please you.he shows it by doing things that will make you happy.he will do things he wouldn't have naturally done just to please you; things you may or not have asked for.
at this point if you stop he stops but if you continue you lead him on and this man will provide, protect, abd defend you with all he's got.
On the other hand if you show him that you are equal, competition starts.he will be compelled to maintain his top position which manufests in wickedness, rejecttion, and beating

Forget these government controlled buses o.their drivers are terrible.AKTC is the worst.all their drivers compete with each other on the road.as in serious competition o.i don't know why their respective state governments are pretending they don't know of the overspeed.

Very sad. I think he should not marry again. Burying two wives, to some people, may not be normal, and would likely scare off any other potential bride. You did not state his age, He should channel his attention and energy to other things, and you guys can also play a very important role in keeping him actively engaged and less lonely.

the sutuation is really complicated.the man needs company and care.he needs someone to manage/ monitor him healthwise.he can marry an elderly woman who wouldn't necessarily bear more children.he needs a friend and a shoulder to lean on.God help him

my mother flogged, slapped and knocked me yet my brain no damage.i didn't become wayward.i didn't turn out hard.i have the softest heart.infact, till i got married i feared my mamma like mad! I never talked back at her.it grieves my heart to ser young children as young as 14,15,16 talk back at their mothers in the public.one even warned his mother in my prescence and i quietly took my leave out of embarassment.why do we now believe that beating children is wrong? some abuse their children but not beating equals to child neglect in my opinion o.

I repeat,the knock on her head wasnt enough to cause any permanent damage. Its people who throw thier kids against the wall and bash thier heads in with thier fists you should be addressing not me. People who are children themselves and hit thier kids outof anger and frustration, Parents who are still prone to temper tantrums because they themselves were not disciplined as kids. Parents who take out life's frustrations on thier children.

I have never seen any kid with shaking baby syndrome in this Nigeria. Its definitely more common in the "More Civilized Countries" than it is here. Probably because thier adults arent matured enough to handle thier own kids properly.


Corporal punishment to me includes:
knocking on the head
spanking on the buttocks
flogging on the bumbum(elder children)
Kneeling down with arms raised

It is also pertinent to note that as soon as you punish a child you must let the child know the reason for the punishment so s/he can learn from it. Most corporal punishment stops when the child has reached a reasonable age e.g 15=18.




What is NOT corporal punishment is:
Slapping the child
Punching the child
Shaking the child violently
Throwing the child violently
Using instruments on the child like shoes, cords, cables, belts*, iron rods, etc
Using pepper on the child
Kicking the child
Hitting the child's head or body on the wall
etc.

*belting can be used on certain stubborn boys esp of teenage age when the cane is no longer threathening. But I do not personally advocate it.

All the above are acts of cruelty done under anger and frustration and can inflict severe bodily harm as well as mental trauma on the child.

My niece is always trying to grab the steering wheel while am driving. Her parents don't support spanking. (she's five).

One day she grabbed the steering while I wa driving alone with her and almost threw us into the Bush. I gave her knock of life on her head and warned her never to try it again. So far she hasn't repeated the act.

you see why i support beating( according to age) if you hadn't given her that holy knock, maybe she may have caused you or any other much harm.#teamspoiltherodandsparethechild

i don't like bad breath.can't even stand stale smell.thank God hubby doesn't have bad breath.if he had i would have personally sought out the solution for that. had to stop patronizing one salon because the guy there has it and when he carves my eyebrows , i just hold my breath!

I'm not even of the opinion that he may harass her but what if in the process of having fun the daughter mistakenly touches somethings? she will know that that is not a regular body part.before you know she would start looking foward to the bath with the hope that the mistake occours again.from there she becomes aware of stuffs and may even mistakenly touch her other peoples own afterall it's okay to mistakenly touch daddy's own..kids are smart these days so have your fun fully clothed.let her climb from your head to toe but not naked..
