spyder880:Good to see that they are serious about providing gutters |
Shebi we warned government to be mindful of this Boko Haram cease fire trick being used to re-arm Boko Haram and train more of their fighters now that they are close to defeat? |
asha80:You are right that we should provide waste disposal bins, but I have seen people that simply dump their trash into the gutters right in front of their houses when it rains! In spite of the official refuse dump site being only a few blocks away! The right attitude is still our major challenge especially in Anambra and Abia states. Every compound i visited in Anambra state had some sort of flowers and trees planted inside the compound to beautify it and more importantly was regularly swept and kept clean. Many people see public property as nobody's property and therefore it should be abused. So, after sweeping inside of their compounds every morning, they simply open their gates to dump the dirty gathered right in the center of the road outside their house! Even in Onitsha Main market where many get their livelihood, our peoples attitude is to sweep the inside of their shops every morning and dump the trash in the alley or public passage right in front of their shop!!! Thus, when you speak of planting flowers along roads or public buildings, our people stare at you strangely as if you have lost your mind! Because in their understanding, the roads and schools, malls are not anybody's property,so you must not make any effort whatsoever to keep them clean and decent, to the extent of planting flowers? I tell you, the biggest challenge to transforming Anambra is all about changing our peoples' attitudes and psyche towards public properties and utilities. |
Schematics: MOBJECTIVE:Great pics! thanks for sharing. Even more important than how the physical structure finally turned out will be the landscaping and flowers planted around this hotel. The Uyo Meridien Hotel isn't fantastic because of the physical structure alone, but the use of palm trees, flowers and grass to make the environment truly fantastic. Typically, Anambra is one of the places where the prevailing attitude is that planting flowers & trees around such buildings is considered as unnecessary and definitely not as important as the physical structure itself. However, one hopes that emphasis on transforming the environment around the Agulu & Onitsha resort hotels is made a priority. Clear the bushes around these hotels and plant palm trees & grasses in its place to make a beautiful garden resembling a golf course around these hotels. Environmental aesthetics through proper landscaping makes all the difference in the world.

Johnnyessence:Pastor TB Joshua is a true man of God. No matter the amount of blasphemy against his service to the poor, God will continue to bless him for his selflessness |
benson81:I thought it was N 1 trillion naira that they spent. Why steal just in billions when you can take trillions. ![]() |
Verifiable Sauce! |
3dankey:Amen! For me, I believe our utmost priority is to first make Anambra self sufficient in many things our people depend on. Inspect our homes, write down everything you use. From the rice in your kitchen to garri, to kitchen stove, gas cooker, radio, matress, rug etc. We should aspire to produce all of it. Once you are self sufficient, you have conquered poverty for ever and removed the ability of other people to manipulate your progress. |
theoctopus:My brother, make no mistake about it. AMAECHI WILL LOSE ALL THE ILL GOTTEN WEALTH THAT HE ACQUIRED FROM LOOTING RIVERS STATE! |
Trust Cameroon at your Peril! They are one of the big arms suppliers to Boko Haram. |
@op, The word is articulate not articulated. I'm sure Buhari is more articulated than you. ![]() |
I hope they made provisions for the ones the will dash out to Boko Haram through moles in the army determined to abandon their weapons and flee so that Boko boys will use them against our army. |
You are just finding out? APC is a propaganda and lies party. So they will only come here to deceive people. Remember what they did here during Anambra and Ekiti elections? ![]() |
BuddahMonk:The aim was to show the solid looking pillars holding that bridge. Anyhow, i completely agree with you that a responsible state government should ban indiscriminate pasting of posters on public property and roads. We recently discussed this new sordid trend here ; https://www.nairaland.com/979128/enugu-pride-east/272 |
I hope EFCC is taking evidence and documenting the River State monthly allocations,IGR and how it is being spent. The Rivers State budget is always about N490 Billion naira which is bigger than Lagos budget of about N488 Billion naira. If Fashola who has a bigger civil service and many spectacular projects can find money to invest in his even longer light rail, i wonder where Rivers money is going. Rivers state budget of more than $3 Billion dollars is bigger than the annual budget of 40 out of 54 African countries! This is not going to be about APC or GEJ politics, this man must not be allowed to enjoy the peoples money he is stealing. |
What about Ghana fearing Nigerians and deporting them in spite of ECOWAS free movement protocol? We don't want any manufactured goods from Ghana. Let our factories produce them and offer employment to Nigerians. Who might otherwise have gone to Ghana which relishes deportation of Nigerians while depending on Nigerian money. BTW, why don't they sell to their anti-Nigeria "partners" in South Africa? Or why aren't they complaining about not selling their crap in SA but will shout about Nigeria? Shameless lot! |
IDC construction work actually look solid, but i think their problem is often design and not properly marking their roads upon completion, making the whole thing appear shoddy or substandard.Arab contractors construction company beats IDC in design and finish of their roads with proper road markings, which makes their projects beautiful and appearance of higher quality. Nonetheless, The IDC company appear better prepared to quickly execute contracts in Anambra than CCC which had moved out most of their equipment out of the state since the completion of the Owerri express road. The IDC should improve the taste of their architects and project designers. Their engineers appear to be doing a good job. I do think their projects are solid like this bridge pillars in Onitsha prove. Albeit bastardized as usual with church posters.

Nigeria is the only country where foreigners will dominate our economy and still try to treat the country like we are crap. Even Kenya, Ghana or Uganda did not tolerate such treatment by foreigners. We should impose appropriate taxes on those erring companies and even more such as banks etc that have abused our hospitality. If they don't like it, let them leave our country alone. We have Glo,Etisalat etc to absorb MTN customers. We have other cable TV to take over from DSTV. As for shoprite, their presence is more of a nuisance. We should also confiscate any money being transferred from our economy to South Africa and cite relevant areas of our law that makes us think it is money from a criminal enterprise. Even if SA government writes to inform those companies are legal by their laws, we should simply ignore the phools. |
The officers involved in this crime should be tried according to the military tradition and whatever punishment stipulated for such crimes be carried out as a lesson to others that want to risk the survival of Nigeria. |
tabletman1:Good job Tabletman! Why do our people love to build their houses and shops right at the tip of the road tar or almost on the gutter if the road has gutter? Meanwhile you will see ample land wasting as bush behind such structures. ![]() |

spyder880:Although i am also a patriotic Nigerian and proud of our flag colors, In the end, the poor choice to paint "green " on this building may ruin all the architectural masterpiece beauty. This building resembles the federal building in Hartford Connecticut. But the federal building has a beautiful off white color and brick design in a section of it. The color painted on a building's exterior is everything. The emporis built in the 1960s is another timeless building principally for its circular design and the choice of the different shades of tan and brown used on it. If it were built more recently,it would definitely have had a better paint job.

Paid Boko haram Internet e-warriors always advising Igbo on what to do, who to vote for and when to die since 1900. ![]() Abooki and yolobar should save their useless saliva. If you don't want Igbo to vote GEJ, then make Igbo an APC presidential candidate. |
Good! Any of them that catches Ebola there should stay there until he is healed. Just don't bring the Ebola to Nigeria if they catch it. |
They never added Jonathan's name in the first place. It is the APC e-dogs that added Jonathan's name to the list to imply that he was corrupt. |
So sad that criminals like Amechi control the fate of other Nigerians. Rivers state budget is bigger than Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and a host of African countries entire national budget! These countries have to contend with big population, a national army, police, Air Force and embassies around the world! Yet these countries capital cities and other cities are better than only port harcourt that we are begging Amaechi to fix! |
Northern leaders didn't just fail the north. They failed Nigeria. We could all have been richer prosperous country if they should a little less greed and a little love for the entire country. |
benson81:Obasanjo believes in killing his opponents than being smart to out compete them. So he thought that must be GEJ's strategy and thus decided to make false allegations on him. |
Vessi:Mechanized agriculture & massive poultry production !!! Then build an industrialized society around food packaging factories making use of the agricultural products of Ebonyi state. |
They should allow only reputable companies to buy the airports. I am still not impressed with the discos. |
publicenemy:Sorry about that. I will cut the quote to just the relevant part |
