Culture / Re: Igbo Names & Their Meanings by chinani(f): 8:28pm On Jun 23, 2006 |
Ugonna translates "Father's eagle". Or if God is meant by "Father" than "God's eagle". (But then Ugochi translates to "God's eagle" spot on.) I've also heard that the meaning of Ugochi is "Divine prestige". The divinity would be God's annointment persay & the prestige would be the eagle so you are the "feather in the cap". So Ugonna could be "Divine prestige" or "Father's prestige". Someone, anyone, correct me if I'm wrong. . . |

svs:B/c that's what the man calls himself "Tuface" not "2face". It's just a courtesy thing to refer to a person as they are comfortable though many online use "2face" as shorthand. *Think that's what gee meant. Am I right Gee?* |

@Juddywoko I'm fine. Nothing too much is going on w/ me right now. My name's familiar huh? Well it's not the ppl in my day to day life know me by . . .and I've never been to Lagos (though I'd like to go). Anyhow, how are you? |

@Spikedcylinder LOL.That's a funny image. I also don't wear powder b/c I don't like how I look in it. I also never found my perfect shade. But recently there's been so many new products for us caramel-mocha-sunkissed mahogany ladies that I've wanted to get back into it. I don't know, I don't know. Peace! |
Car Talk / Re: 34 Year Old Nigerian Man Who Can't Drive: Normal? by chinani(f): 11:14pm On Jun 20, 2006 |
Well let's not forget that some ppl will not teach others. They're just not open to it. I have Uncles you can't drive & some can. I always wonder why they don't all learn or all go teach each other. I've never asked but I guess that ppl just have different schedules and no on really wants to impose on others. Having said all this the man prolly could drive after like a half hour of instruction. He prolly says he can't b/c he's never been formally taught or practiced. What I'm saying is that you can think of it in a different way. For instance, a virgin doesn't say "I can't have sex" simply b/c they've never done it. And being a 34 year virgin, while rare, isn't a crime is it? Aiight, I don't wanna make your friend flee this man so I'll stop here. I for one hope she sticks w/ him to see what he's all about. Peace. |
Sports / Re: Nba Finals Who Wins? Heat Or Mavs by chinani(f): 11:10pm On Jun 20, 2006 |
Ok, so The Heat isn't my time & neither are the Mavs. But I respect both of them! I'm routing for the HEAT b/c I LOVE my some sexy, sexy, Dwayne Wade! And some Gary Patton get a ring? Puh~leave! Can't nobody give brother man a ring? DAYYYYUM! BUT, I'm routting for the Mavs b/c I LOVE AVERY JOHNSON. Yes, that's right AVERY JOHNSON. I'm a lil one too. "I've been hustling since hustling was against the law, rook." Oh, and what's-his-face is kind of adorable too. . . On a final note, is it me or is Marc Cuban CrAzY? He used to be casually annoying but now it's pushing my buttons. Somethings off about him, feel me? Me thinks he's, er, nevermind. |

Er, I don't think South African has a "massive" black middle class. Saying so deters progress. |
Car Talk / Re: 34 Year Old Nigerian Man Who Can't Drive: Normal? by chinani(f): 2:19am On Jun 20, 2006 |
It's not normal, not abnormal, but hilarious! On a serious note, this fellow's okay in my book! This might just be a result of his life circumstances. Please, don't read too much into it & advise your friend to get to know him. Since she wasn't attracted by his driving ability the relationship can still go on & grow. I feel you on the adventuresome tip but still don't judge him on this one thing. |
Family / Re: How Do You Cope With Loneliness? by chinani(f): 2:06am On Jun 20, 2006 |
But now that I think of it, 37 is not old. Not anymore, ask OPRAH! So why don't you meet new ppl & date? I guess you can ask some of your current friends about their organizations (bowling league or whatever) then t/o them meet new ppl & date. I think dating's fun. JMO. Oh, you can try online sites too. Just my humble, corny ideas. Peace. |
Family / Re: How Do You Cope With Loneliness? by chinani(f): 1:53am On Jun 20, 2006 |
@Luvchild I read. I was a very lonely child so I just read & read & read. When you find authors & books you like, it'll feel like you're coming into - with invitation of course - their world. This is terribly nerdy but it worked for me. Still does. You could also start volunteering. If you pick something you like you'll be involved & the feeling of being needed wil be wonderful. Best wishes! |

@Montana 2Face says "Onye mu" which means "my someone" or "my person". In the context, it means "my wife" or "my lady". Snazzy, Spiked, Hot-A, co-sign me ladies. |
