Yomieluv: Only in Nigeria people are forced to do,or use things why force internet banking on people, when they don't actually want it. Make our internet efficient, and effective, naturally the public will embrace it.

Have you lived any where else outside of Nigeria? If you have you would not have made that statement.

If you don't like the bank, simply don't open an account with them. Online banking is the trend now. I have been doing it for years now without any issues. I hardly go to the bank except 2 to three times in a year when i just have to go there to fill out a document or for loan.

Learn to learn something new. Its always difficult i know.

Religion / Re: God Wants You Rich Just As He Wants You Saved by chiteny(m): 5:39am On Dec 28, 2013
uchkochi: GOD WANTS YOU RICH AS MUCH AS HE WANTS YOU SAVED.

Do you know God wants you rich? He wants you to prosper, He wants you to become very great and the envy of everyone. He wants you to eat the good of the Land. He wants you to lend not just to people but to nations. He wants you to drive the best cars, eat the best food, wear the best clothes and live in the finest houses, He wants you to be a blessing to your family, community, nation and His work on Earth. Deuteronomy 28:1-14, 3 John 2, Jeremiah 29:11.

If God wants you rich, no devil can stop your riches.

The high way to exceeding riches and wealth is not hard work as many have been made to believe, it is not long prayers as many have believed, it is not also 'hard fastings'. But it is the blessings of the LORD that makes rich without sorrows. Proverbs 10:22.

The high way to wealth is giving and 'hard givings'. By hard giving I mean sacrificial giving. Many want to prosper but they don't want to give. Even the easiest giving which is the tithe, they don't want to pay. Listen to this, tithing is the first gate to riches. Tithing alone can attract the money you need to come out of debt and live a debt free life.

Make up your mind to tithe every money that enters your hand, from the smallest to the greatest. The prayer of the tither is answered quicker than that of the none-tither.

Tithing puts your name in God's priority list.
Your name is added there today in Jesus Precious name. You will get to where God wants you to get to in your finances in Jesus name.

BB PIN IS 2739F228

OP, do you give for charity sake not expecting any returns whatsoever at, wether from God or man?
You have absolutely no biblical backing for the bolded section. You just vomited lies against to Word of God and you will receive the reward for that.

Maybe it was a test of your 'marraige' credentials and I'm not sure you passed. Sometimes in life things do not appear as they seem ordnarily. Learn to be broad-minded. Doesn't cost you anything. It would have been a five minute interview. Surely you can bear brief humiliation to get life long things.

...and i guess when she is asked to eat her shite she should oblige with gratitude because it could be a test for the marriage and she needs to pass? Please lets call a spade a spade. If something is not right, it is not right. I would rather fail the test that say a wrong thing is right.

Acidosis:

You don't seem to get my point.

We all know the scripture and the verse you quoted, even though most people on this thread use some non-biblical titles while referring to their preachers.
As you already know, only pentecostals use those titles you listed. Others derived and coined theirs by themselves and for themselves, YET they search for every opportunity to pull down a harmless title.

Why can't OP tell us the age of her Pastor and lets weigh this with maturity and sense.

Where I schooled, we have lecturers with names like (Mr *****), but because of their age, courtesy demands that we show them some level of respect. We mostly call them 'ose' - meaning Daddy, Papa.

You see bro, there is absolutely nothing wrong in calling your Pastor Daddy.

Maybe the wife was only trying to act like a Mother and treat her as though she was a daughter.

There is no gainsaying the fact some people have idolised that word 'papa & daddy' e.g the always trying too hard campus fellowship dunces.
Nevertheless, I still believe there are people who need to be called DADDY, atleast for the AGE & THE SPIRITUAL FATHER-DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP.

_______________________________
Apologies to OP for attacking her initially.

Acidosis, on the on the other hand, with the Pastor/Daddy's wife being knowledgeable that different people have different backgrounds and upbringing, why did she not tolerate someone calling her husband as Pastor instead of enforcing that he be referred to as Daddy? I bet you that that Daddy is not up to 60 years old.

They are not even Yoruba in the first place else i would have said it was a culture thing for them. I honestly do not see anything wrong in how the OP addressed the pastor. If she had called him by his name along then it would have been wrong. Infact if she had called him Mr. abcd, she would have not been wrong.

I wonder what we do with all these titles? undecided

specialguest: For clarification purpose my pastor and his wife are from the east, I am a northerner and the church I attend is a popular church with branches all over Nigeria however my parish is in Abuja. That said, thank you all for your contributions.
I created this thread yesterday because I wanted to find out if I was wrong by referring to a pastor as pastor-his name, however after going through most of the replies on this thread, it is safe to conclude that it is not compulsory to address our pastors as daddy and mummy. Bearing that in mind, I went to church today, sat on the front row, sang my heart out without allowing yesterday"s drama to interfere with my worship.
I really do feel a lot better now and I pray God puts a sense of Humility in our spiritual leaders, may they walk in the footsteps our Lord and Saviour Jesus christ. Amen

So Op, did you go to church yesterday? What is the conclusion of this pastor daddy gist?

Religion / Re: Nigerian Mega-churches, Where Is Your Christmas Spirit? by chiteny(m): 7:17am On Dec 22, 2013
plaetton: During this festive season in most countries, churches. as active pillars of the community, go out of their ways to give special attention to the poor and the needy.
Special fundraising events and food drives are organized for the benefit of the needy in the community. This where churches and genuine people of faith showcase the virtues of their religious or philosophic doctrines.
Charity and compassion towards the poor, the disadvantaged and the needy are important virtues in every major religion.

"By their acts you shall know them".

In Nigeria, the opposite seem to be the case.
Here, the rapacious hayenas of the PFN(pentecostal fraudsters of Nigeria) are already salivating and fine-tuning more money-making scams and extortion schemes for this christmas season.

Pentecostalism has shown itself, most especially in Africa, to be the biggest disgrace of the Christian religion.
Here, everything that Jesus taught that are supposed to make one a good christian is turned upside down.

The quality of christian discipleship in Nigeria is truly laughable and pathetic.

At a time when the spirit of humility, reflection and active service to the public, especially the needy is greatly required, you have certified clowns and parasites like Chris Okotie, satiated with corruptly acquired affluence, drunk with the filthy lucre from religious fraud, spends his time(idle mind is the devil's ...?) hurling verbal missiles and inciting one branch of bullshyt mountain against another.

Does any one still have any doubts that Nigerian Mega-Churches are nothing but bullshyt mountains, and that their proprietors or MOGs are simply MOFs(men of fraud)?
Does anyone have any doubts that these parasitic maggots would go to any low to continue pick the pockets of Nigerians with the usual blackmail of religious bullshyt?.

Not all churches in nigeria are bad. Not all churches of PFN are bad. Not all pentecostal churches in africa are bad etc.......

sdymanagers: I have heard of Commodities, Trinkets, Artifacts, real estate, precious stones and many other such like places but they all have their drawbacks. Any safer places?

Op, save the money in a long term investment. It will pay on the long run. All monies that are not to be used for immediate needs like food, shelter and necessary clothing or family upkeep, put it into real estate/property purchase/development. For me this is ideal. You could also buy god but the issue is having a safe place to store them.

It will seem initially like u dont have money but the sale of any of the property in time of real need would make you realize just how rich you are. wink

The rivers state fire command couldn't put out the fire as a result of obsolete and ill trained fire fighters. The state govt got its share of blame for not building phase2 of the new mile market as planned by ex governor celestine omehia some 7 yrs ago.

Currently, traders who lost their wares are grieving uncontrollably, calling on d state govt and other relevant agencies to come to their aid.

This is d 5th time mile market is gutted by fire in its history.
