I can actually feel his pain. This is highly unfair. Unfortunately, not much can be done about it. He needs to take steps to protect his girlfriend and daughters.

He came into my house with his wife and kid and I decided to offer them a bottle of grandnut for refreshment before going to the kitchen to prepare food for them, but before I finished cooking, what I saw was the empty bottle of a big bottle of grandnut.

Some people are wicked.
Or just hungry. Stories like this actually make me sad. People are suffering unimaginable hardship in this country. Then again, your visitors may have just been very greedy.

If my husband does this in public, we'll have issues. David continually subjects this girl to disrespect and she just grins through it all because of money. I wonder how her dad (if he's alive) feels when he sees these sort of pictures.

RomanceRe: Im Thinking Of Divorce Just Few Months Into Marriage by chival(f): 5:39pm On Feb 02, 2020
Both the husband and wife are at fault here, but I blame the husband more. Your wife has never really been into you, that much you both agree on. Yet you cajoled her into marriage. This marriage was doomed from the start. Your wife does not have an ounce of love for you. The only positive thing I see here is that there are no children involved yet. Please part ways and wish each other well. Learn this lesson OP: you can never buy love.

Please I am currently 8 months pregnant and I just want to know how mothers deal with this. My stomach is filled with black stretch marks all over, they’re not manageable. They look disgusting, I’ve added so much weight and this is making me depesssed. I’m a young woman in my early 20s, what have I done to deserve this? Why do we have to go through all of this just to bring a child into the world. This is affecting my self esteem and mental state. I cry every time I look in the mirror. What can I do about these horrible stretch marks, mothers in the house? What can I do about my low self esteem? I just can’t take this anymore.
Here's another way to look at it - many women would give their right arms for a chance to get pregnant. I think a quick visit to an infertility clinic might cure your depression. In a nutshell, be grateful for the wonderful gift you've been given.

I have read stories here on women taking their husbands to court because he refused to divorce them. One was on front page weeks back.

Nowadays, I've noticed people create threads and make comments for fun, attention or likes.

Instead of arguing back and forth if Maryam deserves to be killed, the lesson here is "EVERYONE SHOULD WORK ON THEIR ANGER ISSUES".
She would probably be free and alive if she had walked away from the house. On front-page, a guy would be going to jail for slapping someone to death in Anambra

People should learn to walk away when they are angry. That's the lesson here.

I'm happy you see murder for what it is. God bless you ma
Amen. God bless you too.

Do you believe in God? If yes, then pray. God is capable of finding you a good wife even if she is the last good one left. Incidentally, my husband told me that was what he did before we met. He asked God to send him a wife and weeks later, we met.
Keep hope alive. You'll find her. smiley
FamilyRe: Please Save A Life. by chival(f): 11:18pm On Jan 29, 2020
As an aside, I have noticed that many Nigerians tend to blindly support one who they deem one of their own. A man of God commits adultery and his followers blindly defend him, a politician commits a heinous crime and party loyalists jump on the defence band wagon even though the truth is staring them in the face, here on Nairaland, a man or woman does something and others of the same sex feel the necessity to justify his/her actions.

I should not feel the need to support a murderer just because we are the same sex, tribe or religion.

My people truth is truth. It does not know gender, age, colour, or race. What is good for the goose is most definitely good for the gander. Let us all stand for truth and justice regardless of who is involved. There is a good reason Lady Justice is blind.

The way some of you think is pathetic, sad and it clearly shows there's little hope for a better society, country and the world at large

Now, LilMissIntelligent,
If a man rapes a woman, do you blame the man for not controlling his sexual urge, or do you blame the woman for dressing provocatively?

Always learn to think.

A man has just been murdered in cold blood. You don't even know if the woman was lying about the divorce and infidelity stories, but here you are justifying her killing

Don't let your creator be ashamed of you. There is no justification for taking that man's life
Even if the divorce claim is true, it does not justify murder. The man may have refused to grant her a divorce but he certainly didn't chain her to the house. She should have left. None of these excuses being presented hold water. Did she kill him in self defense? No. Then she is guilty of murder in the first degree. Na person pikin she kill, no be goat or dog.

Why have you arrived at the conclusion that she is not guilty of killing the husband?
Was there any question of a third party/armed robber/assassin involved in his murder?
I know the NPF has a lot to do in Nigeria, in terms of forensics but I'm not sure if this case warrants any high faltering forensics.
Did she deny stabbing him or what?
I sense she is related to Maryam and hence biased.

Fa is not a hausa word.
Hausas use more of bah
Fa is common amongst Kwara people though
Fa is an Hausa word and I know this because I lived in the north for a while and speak a bit of the language. The reason the word is used by Kwara people is because they were influenced by the influx of northerners when Ilorin became an emirate. There are several northern influences in Kwara state in particular that have over the years trickled down into the west. 'Fa' is a word that originated in the North, was made popular in Kwara state and from there trickled to other parts of Yoruba land.

Hausa speakers on Nairaland please pitch in.

If I were the one, I'd love an upgrade on my car and a romantic dinner date with hubby, nothing too elaborate. If she's into the photo shoot thingy, then organize one for her. Photo shoots are not my cup of tea though.

People who willingly commit crime should be ready to do the time. She stabbed him multiple times. Why didn't she come to her senses after stabbing him the first or second time? She went the whole nine yards, so she deserves to be punished. It takes guts and a certain level of cold hearted and evil wickedness to commit murder. I really don't have any pity for murderers. She should have walked away from the marriage rather than commit murder.

My sentiments exactly.

There you guys go again. This scenario keeps replaying on Nairaland. Soon the wife will come here with her own side of the story which will ultimately show the OP's tale is one sided at best and most likely grossly embellished. Men on Nairaland seem to derive orgasmic joy from bashing women. I remember the strungup79 saga a few weeks ago. Many men here called the poor woman unprintable names, and when the truth came out, they went slinking back with their tails between their legs.

@OP, if your wife is as bad as you portray then that's very unkind of her. However she may be lashing out as a result of the fact that you didn't level with her from the first. If I were in her shoes, I'd feel hurt that my husband chose to consult someone else and in the process got defrauded. Maybe, just maybe if oga had planned how to invest the money with his wife, he wouldn't be in this lamentable situation.

shocked

He must have been tired of her cheating.
After having 6 kids for him, she couldn't still grow some balls to leave him even when he said he was tired of her.

Nigerian women are so dependent on the men.
They won't get a job or a source of livelihood to be independent.

Feminism would be good if these ladies practice what they preach.
There was a time when you were witty, humorous even. But now? You have become irksome. I really hope this attitude is just for social media and not a real depiction of your real self.
